  1. Okay, sure. Should I hold off on the RP until you complete him?
  2. Thanks. So anyway... I was wondering if we could start this in the Puff Bakery, which is where Cream Puff works. Perhaps Shooting Star could be chatting with her about his recent internship?
  3. Hi guys. I'm looking to start my first RP here in the Mane RP. I actually tried earlier... It bombed. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone wants to join me. My characters are in my signature, if anyone's interested. Thanks.
  4. Bored. That's what's on my mind.

  5. Thanks, I'll update it immediately. EDIT: Updated.
  6. I have a question concerning throwaway names for towns. I plan on making an edit to my first character, Shooting Star, and making him Equestria's version of British. I know we have Trottingham, since Pipsqueak had a Cockney accent when he first appeared (and appears to have British mannerisms). The only problem is, I want to avoid Trottingham at all costs. Nottingham (which I'm guessing Trottingham is named after) isn't the only city in England. So a friend helped me come up with the throwaway name of 'Coltdon', which is basically London ponified. Most of my Mane RPs will be restricted to Fillydelphia, so I don't have any plans for Coltdon to become an actual location, the same way Fillydelphia itself was thrown around in the show (when parasprites were attacking and where Cranky Doodle Donkey comes from). Is this alright, or do I have to make do with Trottingham?
  7. Roleplay Type: Crossover Name: Junko Kakuo Sex: Female Age: 14 (this is a known fact as she had a human body once) Species: Shorai Veritian (Pegasus look-alike equipped with limited magical ability) Eye Color: Yellow Coat Color: Blue and silver with light blue highlights along lines of contortion. Depending on what magic chip she has installed, those highlights will change color. Note that this coat is not fur but armor. Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Silky, light blue mane and tail elegantly styled. Physique: Horse-like instead of pony-like, but other than that, standard. Notably, she is just marginally smaller than Luna. Cutie Mark: None Origin/Residence: Shorai Academy, Planet Veritas (Concurus System). She's currently living in Canterlot. Occupation: None Motivation: As pretty much an extraterrestrial, in a world which she cannot fit in, she only wants to go home. Her shy personality doesn't help, nor does the fact that she dwarfs Big Macintosh. Likes: Being left alone, with something to tease her brain, such as puzzles or stuff to put together. Dislikes: Crowds and aggressive confrontations. She is extremely jumpy, meaning that tapping on the doorframe of a quiet room is enough to scare her, especially if she's concentrating on something. Character Summary: Junko Kakuo was born on the planet Veritas, in the Concurus system, as one of the many Veritian nobles keeping Veritas from reducing itself to barbarism. Veritas had a sister planet, Phantasia, whose inhabitants dealt in technology. Their society grew in leaps and bounds, because the Phantasians were naturally curious and pumped out technology so fast it would make Princess Celestia's head spin. As a point of comparison, Equestria has just perfected steam train travel. Phantasia did that, washed their hands, and moved on to casual phone calls across outer space. According to what official records do exist (in the form of her diary), she was the first Veritian to have contact with a Phantasian, from the same institution that tried to drop a communication capsule on her head. After making first contact, she giddily took the capsule back to her room, where she was educated by leading scientists, although she couldn't exactly apply it; Veritas was still in an age of nomads. Then, something extremely odd happened, that changed the course of history forever. A bright light erupted from Phantasia, knocking out everyone on Veritas and cutting off their communciation with Phantasia. This event was known as the Day of Ascendance. When Junko woke up, her previous, human body was replaced with her current, mechanical pegasus body, and Veritas was transformed from a planet of purely natural beauty into a planet where technology was all there was to see. In short, what was natural become artificial, and what was artificial became natural. Panic set in immediately, but as the Veritians began to calm down, they began to reunite with their lost families. It took a month to find her older sister Aimi, and she made friends with a ninja named Subaru. The Veritians were divided into two differing types; Shorai, pure machines and what she is, and Kako, biomechanical beings. War broke out between the Shorai and Kako, but that is a tale for another time. After a long and arduous journey and battle, Junko helped end the Shorai-Kako War and reunite Subaru with his brothers. However, suddenly she was jolted through a strange portal that opened one day. She was deposited in Canterlot, her arrival announced with the screeching of metal against cobblestone, which woke pretty much everyone there. What happened afterwards? It would be wiser to find out for ourselves... In accordance with the fact that Junko is a Shorai and not a pegasus, she is unconstrained by the rules of Equestria but at the same time unable to take advantage of them. As a Shorai and not a pegasus, she cannot stand on clouds, which tends to result in embarrassment. Her wings are not true wings, but ion levitators, meaning she can sustain flight almost indefinetly so long as she is properly charged. On that subject, she cannot eat like a normal pony; she tries eating and she'll bust her mouth speaker. To compensate, she can install a lightning rod on her body to take in electricity from thunderclouds. Back on Veritas, she would simply plug herself into the wall, like pretty much all Shorai. She is also capable of using a weaker form of magic, in the form of magic chips (her favorite is the Ice Chip). However, her range of magic is different, and thus she cannot be taught unicorn spells; she has to emulate them with what she's got already.

  9. Thank you. I was wondering where this went...
  10. Oh, I can see the medical drama already. "Where the hay is the anesthesiologist*?!" "Come on, pull yourself together!" "She's crashing!" ... and so forth. *The guy who puts you to sleep. Back then they probably would have used ether instead of the benzodiazepines we use. And yes, I do my research. EDIT: Profile updated.
  11. I thought I mentioned this? Or is there an error of interpretation on either side? EDIT: Whoops, scratch that, I misread your post. ----- ... Whoops.I'll take your advice on that. Wonder who'll come up with a treatment for Falling Star...?
  12. @Bronynumber299: Sounds interesting. I'll check it out. @tacobob: ... Interesting, to say the least.
  13. Cutie Mark Crusaders Dash of Adventure? ... Please, tell me about it. @SirShadowdeath: We got one, if you need his help.
  14. @SirShadowdeath: Oh, you're producing a game of your own? I'm part of a dev team myself, we can lend a hand. ... We're about five strong, and we've got two programmers.
  15. ... I thought it only logical, since hers would become the odd name out. We do have a Mr. and Mrs. Cake, and I highly doubt that they married because they had the same secondary name. But if it's that much of a problem, I'm going to cut it out.
  16. I understand there's multiple games out there concerning FiM; for instance, an MMORPG that's currently in beta phase, and Fighting is Magic, among others. Thought I'd chat about them, since I'm so interested in video games. What's your favorite, guys?
  17. Sounds reasonable enough. I'll prepare her profile; thanks.
  18. Roleplay Type: World of Equestria RP Name: Shooting Star Sex: Male Age: Colt Species: Unicorn Eye Color: Sky Blue Coat Color: Night Blue Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Frizzled mane and unkempt poofy tail, lighter blue than coat. Physique: Slightly chubby, but manages to hide it. Short due to age. Cutie Mark: Red cross Origin/Residence: Fillydelphia Occupation: Intern surgeon Motivation: Shooting Star's father has a deadly heart condition, which is currently untreatable; magic is useless in this situation, and the timer is ticking. Ever since the diagnosis, he has been silently panicking; even his little sister can tell that he's been getting less sleep than he normally does. Likes: Shooting Star is rather varied in what he enjoys. To begin with, he is extremely interested in the medical field; give him a book on medicine and he'll find it hard to put down. Because of his fillyfriend, he's also rather fond of pastries and other sweets, and he is prone to attending parties. He is not prone to setting up one himself, however, though he will if there's an occasion that deserves one. Dislikes: The fact that time is against him. Character Summary: Shooting Star grew up in the residential district of Fillydelphia, as an ordinary colt with an ordinary family. The only thing not normal about him was his obsession with the medical field. Early on in kindergarten, he would commonly be seen playing doctor with other colts and fillies. He had to visibly restrain himself from jumping out of his seat when health or pony biology classes were scheduled in elementary school, and his high school schedule was covered in classes involving medical sciences. High school turned out to be a major turning point in his life. It's where he met Cream Puff, his current (and only) fillyfriend. The two shared many of their core classes, and sophomore year they both agreed to share an Aquatic Sports elective. That same sophomore year, his father, Falling Star, collapsed at his workplace, and was diagnosed at the hospital with a swollen heart. None of the doctors could give him an accurate estimate of how much time he had; the best they could give was five years, tops. Shooting Star panicked, and quite honestly (and subconsciously) took advantage of the situation. He pleaded with the diagnostician to help him secure an early job at the Fillydelphia Public Hospital, medical experience or not, since experimental treatments were outside of the Star family's reach financially. The hospital agreed to take him in part-time, but he wouldn't be doing anything major until he gained enough experience; instead, he would be a simple assistant, stocking and delivering supplies and test results and listening in on patient examinations. In other words, he would be staring over shoulders until he demonstrated that he had enough theory to actually try it himself, and it was made clear he would start in diagnostics as opposed to pathology or surgery. His first day begins tomorrow... His family includes Falling Star, his father; Shining Star, his mother; and Twinkling Star, his sister. Falling Star works as an astrologist, frequently visiting observatores both foreign and in Canterlot. Or at least, he would, were it not for his heart condition. In desperation, he bought the strongest telescope he could find in Fillydelphia, and sets it up at night on the Fillydelphia-Ponyville route. Shining Star, birth name Shining Light, is a stay-at-home mom who met Falling Star when she fell from a second-story window during her previous job cleaning windows... right on top of Falling Star, which saved her from having four broken legs. Falling Star had to be sent to the hospital, though, since his back was nearly broken. Shining Star came to visit him in the hospital, and most ponies could have sworn somepony slipped them both a love potion. After getting married, they had a son, Shooting Star, and a daughter, Twinkling Star, in that order. Twinkling Star is currently still a blank-flanked elementary school filly, with no indication of her talent. Shooting Star got his cutie mark during a harsh summer day, when an elderly stallion fainted in the street from heatstroke. Remembering his health classes and the textbooks he read, Shooting Star sprung into action, dragging the stallion into the shade and getting wet towels to cool him down. When the ambulance arrived, Shooting Star had managed to drop the stallion's temperature low enough to get him safely transported away; all the EMTs had to do was load him into the carriage. As it left, Shooting Star's cutie mark appeared on his flank, much to his joy. Unfortunately, saving another pony's flank and getting his cutie mark at the same time has led to a rather large growth in his pride. It's exactly what led him to offer his labor as payment for his father's transplant, subconsciously. That pride, ironically, is the only thing keeping his panic in check, which is beginning to affect him severely; his grades are beginning to fall, much to his own horror. If either his pride or panic take him over, he is very likely to snap and do something he will seriously regret.
  19. I've got a rather major question concerning the placement of a character. As a sort of thought experiment and to get myself used to roleplaying here, I've considered importing a character from another board. The only problem is, she's non-pony related. I understand that she would normally go straight into Crossovers. The only problem is, doing that would render the thought experiment invalid, since as far as I can tell, Crossovers is for things that normally would not be permissible in the Mane RP, such as alicorns, or appearance of otherworldly characters (I have admittedly seen none of the latter in Crossover applications). Her appearance may not even raise an eyebrow. So I was wondering if it was possible to get her into the Mane RP for a short amount of time to run the experiment, then either get rid of her or transfer her to Crossovers. The question I'm trying to answer is simple; how would ponies react to something, or rather someone, that resembles a pony but clearly isn't a pony, or even organic for that matter? The character in question I'd like to import is Junko Kakuo, whose profile can be found in the link at the bottom of this post. For those that can't be bothered to look, Junko (pronounced yun-ko, not junk-o) is a robotic life form that's eerily similar to a pegasus. Only difference is, she has the proportions of a horse, not a pony, which means she's only marginally smaller than Luna. Psychologically she's only a teenager in our terms but physically makes Big Macintosh look like a colt. Her coat is armor instead of skin and fur, making her feel cold to the touch, and her eyes are really nothing more than cameras and yellow LEDs. What's worse is that she's from another world where futuristic technology is rampant, and her original, human body was stolen from her. TL:DR, she doesn't fit in and cannot fit in, physically and spiritually, because of something far beyond her control. Second TL:DR, is it possible for Junko to temporarily reside in the Mane RP? Here's her profile; http://newgeneforce....acter-list#7738 EDIT: I forgot to mention something. The version of Junko's profile you'll see if you follow the link will not be the same one that will be seen here on Canterlot. Some things will be removed.
  20. One more for me to add. You know you're an MLP fan when you engineer a Mane Six of your own in your own head for a myriad of fanfictions and roleplays. Which I am very much guilty of.
  21. At least I'm feeling better now.
