  1. You need one more stamp of approval from a mod until you can post in the RP. Hope that helps.
  2. Premier dressmaker? Hookline thought about the title for a moment and look down at his vest again. It was a bit tattered, but replacing it was out of the question. It was still perfectly usable and served its purpose whenever he went out fishing. She didn't seem too keen on the trivial job he had assigned her, which was exactly what he was afraid of. Wasting time on fixing his pocket could probably be used to make some sort of magnificent design. Hookline frowned for a moment, thinking about what to do. If Rarity was going to fix the pocket, he figured he might as well put in an order more suited to her talents. "I'm sorry, Rarity. I'm just a simple fisherpony, so these are my work clothes." Hookline felt a bit out of place as he said this, wishing he had more of a sense of style. After all, what use for fashion does a fisherpony need? Fashion...class... Then, it dawned on him and Hookline knew exactly what Rarity could do for him. "Actually...maybe there's something else you could help me with? I'm planning on visiting the royal palace soon, but I don't think going in a yellow vest and waterproof suit would be a good idea..."
  3. Hookline gave a sigh of relief as the mare reassured him. She certainly seemed nice enough, especially since she was taking time away from whatever else she had been working on just moments ago. The word 'drab' kind of dampened his spirits, however, and forced him to look down at his own clothing with concern. Was there something wrong with it, aside from the pocket? "Even though these are just work clothes, I'd rather not replace it. My pocket ripped and I'm no good at fixing clothes." Hookline pointed to the pocket with his hoof, showing where the bottom of it had literally been torn off. "I'm not sure how busy you are, but can you do anything about the pocket Miss...?" And this is why Hookline preferred to let others do the talking. Meeting someone so classy for the first time, and he hadn't even properly introduced himself or asked for her name. "I'm sorry, I should've introduced myself sooner. The name's Hookline."
  4. Welcome! I hope you enjoy the forums as much as I have. Also, I think Seaspray and Hookline would get along if they met. xD
  5. Hookline has dropped by the Boutique, his poor vest was ripped :'c
  6. That is awesome, and pretty fitting since ME3 is coming out so soon. I never thought of Garrus as a brony, haha.
  7. I finally got around to watching Firefly/Serenity about a month or two ago and loved it. I really do wish there was more of it. Luckily, I have a group of friends down here at college who do roleplaying games similar to D&D, one of them being a Serenity based RP. Check it out here.
  8. Hookline hoped the Boutique could fix his problem. The name sounded extremely fancy, and he wasn't sure if they could help with such a trivial matter. Well, trivial to most at least. He happened to be visiting Ponyville, wanting to meet some of the marine life. Technically there wasn't much, but rivers and lakes still have aquatic creatures swimming about. It was fun and Hookline got to study a few fish he had never seen before, but at the expense of his yellow vest. His beloved vest had pockets to hold the various bait he used when fishing, and now one of those pockets were torn; the pocket ripped earlier as Hookline swam by a jagged rock. Another vest could be purchased, but it wouldn't hold the same sentimental value as the one he was currently wearing. The fisherpony walked into the Boutique, pausing for a moment as he stared at all the dresses. Was this place only for mares? Hookline hoped not, because this would be extremely embarrassing if it was. He spotted a mare in the shop, presumably at work. "Um, hello? I'm sorry if I'm interrupting, please take your time."
  9. I kept reading the dialogue, as if there was some hidden message or inside joke I was missing. xD
  10. You're not alone, I'm extremely confused as well. xD
  11. Welcome! Most everypony is nice as you can tell, so I think you'll fit in. Have fun!
  12. Roleplay Type: World of Equestria RP Name: Hookline Sex: Male Age: Stallion Species: Earth Pony Coat Color: Cerulean Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Hookline has a white mane/tail with a strip of red highlight. He also has freckles on his muzzle that are an even deeper shade of blue than his coat. Eye Color: Cerulean (essentially the same as his coat) Cutie Mark: A fishing rod with a bob attached to the line (it is often hidden from view, however, due to his waterproof suit). Physique: Noticeably thinner than most stallions, but has a fair amount of muscle considering his body type. Wears a black waterproof suit and yellow vest. Origin: Hoofington (place of birth and current residence) Occupation: Caretaker of Aquatic Life, owns an Aquarium Motivation: Spread love of aquatic life (and beauty in general) through patience. Likes: Fish, swimming, water, the outdoors, peace and quiet. Dislikes: Dry places, being confined to the indoors, loud noises, and public speaking. Character Summary: Born in Hoofington, just off the seashore, Hookline's parents made sure that their little colt would be well acquainted with the water. They owned a boat rental shop, which meant Hookline always had time to take a swim. The sights under the sea astounded him, often leaving him speechless. Fish would circle him without fear, and Hookline would regard the tiny creatures as friends. Hookline soon found that speaking with other ponies, however, was more difficult. He isn't shy or timid, but having a lengthy conversation is simply not his strong suit due to his simple speech. He prefers to speak in short phrases or words, while allowing the other pony to do most of the talking (he makes a great listener because of this, though). His expression is normally very neutral/passive, and will stay this way unless he makes a conscious effort to change it, or if he truly feels happy enough to smile, sad enough to frown, ect. A neighbor stallion, Bob, happened to strike up a conversation with Hookline and asked if he would like to try fishing. Hookline considered himself a good swimmer for his age, but never before had he heard of fishing. Confused, he asked Bob why ponies would want to catch fish. He replied that they obviously don't eat them, it's just a fun activity to do on a sunny day. Catch them, and then release. Hookline was immediately interested, and ran to ask his parents. They approved, and Hookline went out on a boat with his new 'mentor.' An hour had passed, and most fisherponies had already left. Hookline asked why they didn't leave with everypony else, and Bob simply said "Patience." Unsure of what else to do, Hookline decided to sit down and wait. Without realizing it, his tail was hanging off the boat and the tip of it was submerged. They waited, and waited, and waited. Hookline didn't say a word and copied Bob's expression and posture. Suddenly, there was a bite! It wasn't by Bob though, it was Hookline's tail! He shouted and jumped with fright when the fish bit, but managed to catch a glimpse of the fish soaring through the air before landing back in the water. Hookline was amazed that the patience had paid off, and thanked Bob for taking him along. It was then that Hookline gained his cutie mark, a fishing rod. To most it simply represents his love of fishing, but to Hookline it also represents the day he learned the importance of patience. Now that Hookline is a young stallion, he owns an aquarium that shows everypony the beauty of the sea. Rather than tanks to keep fish in, part of the building is submerged in water so that visitors can get a beautiful view without keeping any of the water life confined. His parents are extremely proud, and Hookline even helps business by using their boats to teach other ponies how to fish. A stallion of few words, Hookline is patient and kind to all around him. He rarely gets agitated, although being indoors for too long or large crowds can make him feel slightly uncomfortable.
  13. Welcome! I'm new and joined to role play as well, so it'll be nice to see what kind of pony you come up with.
  14. Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm glad to see the the community is so nice (which is what I expected xD). And SilverSwirl, it's definitely worth it!
  15. Count me in! I've been watching the series for quite a while, but it took me a bit to finally sit down and watch. A couple of my friends watched, although I was against it because it just seemed so...girly. And then I was hooked after the first episode. The animation is beyond adorable and I love the character's personalities. I love video games, roleplaying, podcasting, and just about anything that deals with me talking or being on camera xD (I'm a broadcast journalism major). I already have a picture of my to-be Stallion created, so I'm especially excited to get roleplaying after making an application and all that jazz. I can't wait to get to know everypony!
