  1. Cat Napper folded her wings tightly against her back and smiled to the little group around her. Violet was very lively, she'd keep an eye on this one else she'd get in trouble in the blink of an eye. "I stay up as late as I want usually, livin' on my own. I don't try to stay up too late, though I get so wrapped up in my art sometimes I can't help it." She giggled at herself, always one to get the job done day or night. "So Violet, you seem a bit too young to be wanderin' around at night." The filly asked shifting her gaze to the little purple unicorn. "Do your parents know about that?"
  2. "Everything's all good." She panted, flicking her wings to support this. She sat up and shook her coat, a great cloud of dust poofed out of her thin pony fur. She beat her wings free of dirt and trotted over to the two unicorns, sitting on her haunches a few feet away and watching them attempt to pull the balloon free. "Ehm, ya sure I can't do anything more to help?" She called out, feeling a bit guilty for watching them do all the hard work there. The filly marveled at the night around her with curious eyes and a wide smile. The small clearing was dimly lit by a brilliant vortex of stars overhead, an inspiring sight on it's own. It somehow seemed brighter now that she was away from town. The air was warm and still that evening, small glowing orbs would rise from the tall reeds around her, fireflies were out with their bio-luminescent light bulbs flickering. Cat was wrapped in the serenity and the natural beauty, if the other two had responded she probably wouldn't have heard.
  3. The filly groaned and folded her wings over her face. Great, somepony saw her. Slowly she sat her tired body up and stretched her cramped legs, leaping to flight to greet the rainbow maned pegasus. "Heh, yeah I'm alright." She rubbed her hoof behind her head with an embarrassed laugh. "I just needa remember not to sleep on the cirrus clouds anymore." Her attention was brought to the hyper active pink earth pony who appeared to be.. having two different conversations at once? Cat listened and tried her best to pick out the sentences directed towards her. A filly named Pinkie Pie who had seen her around, yep. That seemed to be the just of what the frizzy pink pony was saying. "Hehe nice ta meetcha Pinkie Pie. You've seen me around huh? Have any of you ponies seen my art?" Cat tilted her head with an amused smile. Well, ponies knew her her name now! Maybe word of her studio was getting around.
  4. Sharkity can float. Because she's so awesome like that.
  5. because this was too awesome not to post here x3 are you ready for this? I fully accept this as canon.
  6. Cat took the lantern in her mouth and nodded before taking off with a little running start. Her wings carried her swiftly to the top of the tree where she alighted on a thicker branch. It wobbled slightly at Cat's added weight, causing her to open her wings for balance. She raised the lantern and peered at the crumpled balloon tangled in the knotted branches. The light helped her see a bit more clearly that it was caught in a center branch with a large hole torn in it. She jounced the tree limb once and leaped into flight, hovering with rapidly beating wings next to where the branch tore into the balloon. Carefully, the filly hung the lantern on a protruding limb and grabbed one piece of the torn mass in her mouth. She payed close attention to the direction the limb had entered the deflated balloon and quickly yanked it backwards. It slid slightly for about half an inch. Frustration furrowed in the brow of the filly, a sign that this new challenge had been accepted. Grabbing the balloon material in her jaw firmly, she began a vicious game of tug-o-war with the tree. "C'mon, c'mon.. justh.." She grumbled in her frenzy as the tree's limb slid out from inside the fabric. With a furious buzzing of her wings, Cat pulled back with all the might the little pegasus could muster. A flash of light falling past her indicated that she knocked the lantern loose. "Oh!" About as quick as possible, Cat released her hold and bolted beneath the lantern. It landed on her belly between her forehooves safely with a soft klink. Cat slid on her back with a cloud of dust kicking up behind her before coming to a halt at the hooves of the two unicorns. Catching her breath in great gulps, she set the lantern down and flopped on her back, forelegs sprawled around her. "There... I.. I loosened it up for you..." She gasped out between breaths, a few drops of sweat trickling down her dark muzzle blaze. "Nice to meet you Ashton... I hope I... helped out a bit.." She sat up and folded her tired wings behind her and looked up at the tree. She HAD loosened it quite a bit, and it was now possible for her two friends to reach in and pull it down the rest of the way. With a sigh of relief, the pegasus let herself fall backwards on the ground and close her eyes momentarily, still breathing heavily but satisfied that she had done good.
  7. The little filly kept up pace next to Inkwell's side as the two made their way through Everfree. Despite being a good noticeable few inches shorter than her unicorn companion Cat Napper certainly wasn't going to allow him to wander this predator-ridden forest alone. She instisted she'd accompany him as protection against the creatures, though even she doubted how much she'd be able to do. She was quick witted but not too big or strong. It was the brave thought that counted as Cat Napper was as loyal a pony as you could get, possibly equalling that of the spirit of loyalty herself. She'd never been in Everfree before, she'd tagged along partly out of curiosity and partly out of concern for her friend, although she wasn't able to see much in the dim lighting by means of inspiring landscapes. She stuck close to Inkwell and his illumination spell with her goggles over her eyes, looking around at everything curiously but not daring to stray away for exploring. Getting lost here would not be fun in the least! But the usually relaxed Cat became the slightest bit nervous when she smelled the unmistakable smell of wood smoke. Inkwell noticed it too, and took off with the little pegasus taking flight and zooming through the air above him. As soon as glowing light from a serene night sky became noticable, Cat Napper sped up and swiftly changed direction upon entering the clearing. She flew vertically up with her wings spread to full length on either side of her and looped backwards to land with a small ungraceful stumble beside Inkwell once more. A wave of relief hit the filly when she saw the source of the smoke, a campfire started by a unicorn sitting in the clearing. Panting but smiling, as that was about as exhilirating a flight as she'd had all day, she checked her saddlebags. Still intact, nothing missing. Cat had packed lightly, only sketching materials this time around and was sure to strap them securely for her flying. She stayed silent as Inkwell called to the unicorn, her wide silver eyes taking in the landscape they'd just stumbled upon. Brilliant! They'd found something to look at. The sky itself was enchanting, a wide void hued the deepest of blues dotted with glinting stars of molten white, yellow, even red. That combined with the fact that they were surrounded by nothing but wilderness made this all the more magical. Snapping back into reality, Cat Napper had the urge to pull out her sketch book and sit in the grass for a night of brain-storming when she noticed the other unicorn's fallen air balloon. By the looks of it, this night wasn't as beautiful for him as it was for the little duo of artists. The balloon itself was tangled in a knotted tree's splayed limbs. She pulled her goggles off of her face and let them hang around her neck so she wouldn't appear so strange before trotting over to where the poor unicorn stood. " 'Scuse me sir, it looks like you need a pegasus's help. I could try and dislodge your balloon if you'd like?" She asked with her head slightly cocked to the side. She looked up at the tree, the lighting out here was barely better than within the forest itself but she would see that the balloon was caught up pretty good in the branches. "Oof, must've been some landing.." She said half to herself, wincing at the thought of lacking wings to bail out of a crash landing like that. Everfree wasn't a safe place at night, but it looked like this pony was out of luck. As was Cat's motive, she'd do what she could to improve the situation and make things a bit brighter and more positive. Right now it seemed she was the right pony in the right place.
  8. As Inkwell described his experience with magic, Cat immediately thought of how she'd do with it (as was the Cat Napper way, thoughts usually went a mile a minute.) Sometimes she could barely focus on her own four hooves let alone ten different things at once! Those magically talented unicorns must be real brainiacs. The blue filly couldn't help but chuckle at her friend's next comment. "Hehehe it's not usually tripping that's the issue. I used to be so full of energy as a foal that I couldn't stop myself. Y'now how usually you'd have to apologize to your neighbor for the baseball through his window? Try apologizing for the pegasus filly through his window, I promise it's not as easy!" She laughed out loud at this and was thankful that cloud buildings didn't often have sharp glass windows otherwise she'd be sliced up pretty badly by now. Curiosity tugged her gaze towards Inkwell's sketchbook, she leaned over to get a better look at his recent works. Neater lines than her loose sketching would be expected with the help of Inkwell's unicorn telekinesis, but what really got Cat's attention was the lovely accuracy of it all. Me must do a lot of observation and life drawings, something Cat found to be very relaxing. "You've got quite the skill Inky, if you don't mind me callin' you that." At the thought of nicknames, Cat felt it only proper to offer hers up as well. "Feel free to just call me Cat. Or Kitty Cat. Or Cheetah, Klutzy, Shortstuff, I've got quite a few nicknames from the past years." Cat stopped herself with a look of amusement when she realized she was babbling on about things that weren't related to anything going on right now. It was a habit of hers, but she never really saw it as a bad thing, she thought it made conversations more interesting. The filly couldn't help but beam a little as Inkwell asked to see her studio. "Well, you'll be the first to see my workspace. I'd be happy to show you! Just a fair warning, there might be a lot of clutter. Maybe even more so than your room, I'm not the most organized pony you'll meet." She smiled and stood up, taking a moment to stretch her wings before beginning the walk towards the part of town where her rented room was located. Her eyes trailed to her painted rock leaning on the oak tree where a young foal was now admiring it, the regal pegasus's eyes staring right back at her. She smiled and in her mind bid her creation farewell, turning her attention back to where she was walking. If anything the painting would give her a bit of publicity and liven up the park a bit, although it seemed pretty lively as it was.
  9. You can use one of my RPs as an example viewtopic.php?f=41&t=1133
  10. A wild Indie hath appeared!! Glad to see you made it here 8'D The role play style here is pretty easy to get a hold of, you can go read a few of the role plays to get a good idea ^^
  11. "That's the spirit." She said with a large grin. "Everypony has weak points, but it's the brave ponies that admit it and try to fix em." She listened with her ears perked as Inkwell described Trottingham for her. A place of grandeur, gilded architecture, she could picture it now in her head. Intricately designed cathedrals, mansions worth more than all of her art combined, it would definitely be a sight worth seeing. Painting the landscapes would be a blast! "I've heard that the people there can be a bit uptight, but I try not to judge until I've met em myself." She looked down at her paint covered hooves and gave a tiny giggle. "If I was like everypony in Cloudsdale I'd be.. well.. a lot different than I really am!" She'd never thought about stereotyping her hometown and with all the unique faces she knew up there it was hard to label them all under one category. Her attention was brought back to earth when Inkwell asked her about her hometown. "Cloudsdale is a pretty fast paced place. With the weather factory and all the ponies there have to be working from dawn 'til dusk! Or at least, that's how my parents were. Most of the buildings were sculpted out of clouds so it never hurt when you tripped." She laughed an imagined how many stitches she would've needed if they were brick buildings like here in Ponyville. "I'm not sure but I've heard a rumor of a cloud-walking spell. Say, how are you with magic. Y'now, being a unicorn and all?"
  12. Cat smiled warmly at the little pegasus foal, Lucky Breeze was her name. "That's really nice of ya Lucky. I hope we're not gonna be a bother at all." She shifted into a more comfortable sitting position and flicked her tail over her legs like a blanket. "Nice to meet all of ya. Ice cream probably gets you a nice income huh Sherbert?" She inquired. A bit of home made ice cream is never a bad thing, though right now Cat felt like a warm snack would suit her better. She thought about her parents when Violet mentioned them. Ah, those two worked at the weather factory full time. They were probably worried about their little daughter Cat Napper when the storm was scheduled for Ponyville. "My mum and dad live in Cloudsdale. I'm in charge of myself so I won't be in trouble." Giving a laugh at Violet's comment, Cat adjusted her goggles straighter over her eyes to see the gleeful face of her new unicorn friend. "Mum sent me a letter a bit ago sayin' it'll be pretty severe. I don't quite remember how long she said it'd last.." She scratched her chin with a forehoof as she dug through her memories unsuccessfully. "All I know is she was very concerned about my 'reckless storm-flying habit.' Oh, parents." Cat rolled her eyes and giggled again. She did miss them a lot, but getting a break from those worry worts was pretty refreshing even she had to admit. "It's gonna be a big one that's fer sure." A low rumble of thunder supported her statement, and Cat perked her ears with an awed look on her face. Her wings opened and fanned very slightly as she got the urge to race out into the storm. But then she reminded herself, too cold. Her wings folded immediately upon remembering the cold. Oh, why couldn't it be a warm summer storm? Cat's ears drooped slightly in disappointment.
  13. Big d'aww eyes are my specialty <33 Thank you so much ^///^
  14. Well it IS made for little children you know. But I do agree. It needs a more convenient airing time.
  15. Being a poor sport wasn't high on Cat's list of things to do. Not ever. She gave a little laugh while trying to stop herself from her excessive flushing. Yup, she was tricked alright, and pretty good at that! Cat Napper tossed her mane out of her eyes in an attempt to distract her embarrassment while responding to Violet. "It's alright, and I'm sorry too. As an artist I should been able to tell the difference between rubber and real spiders." She lifted a pair of orange goggles from around her neck and strapped them over her eyes. All details became much more clear, and the spider was quite obviously a fraud now with her enhanced vision. "My eyes aren't what they used to be, but that's what these are for." She chuckled softly at the sound of herself saying that. She was only sixteen, she was making sound like she was forty! Quietly she added. "I just needa start usin' em is all." Back to her quickly slopped together speech, anypony who knew Cat could tell she was quickly relaxing as always. "I'm Cat Napper. You can call me Kitty Cat, Cat, Cheetah, whatever you prefer. I got quite a few nicknames earned. I sleep 16 hours a day, just like a cat." She gave a humorous grin and set her forehooves neatly down in front of her in a very feline pose. She cocked her head slightly to the side in habit as she always did when asking questions, her goofy smile still spread over her face. "Nice to meetcha. Who are you?"
  16. A squeak of shock slipped past Cat Napper's lips as the unicorn levitated her pet directly in front of her face. Her tail shot straight out and she backed away, face growing pale. Scraping her legs against the ground in a frantic attempt to scoot herself as far against the wall as possible, her gray eyes unintentionally raised and met the beastly thing straight on. "GAHH! Getitawaygetitawaykillitkillitkillit.." She wanted to look away but couldn't bring herself to part her gaze from the black, vile.. oddly flexible arms. Arachnid arms aren't jointed to move like that she reminded herself. It was then that a very, very humiliating revelation crossed into her mind. With a red hot flush of embarrassment, Cat Napper realized that it wasn't a living creature. Her brows furrowed as she exclaimed her displeasure. "Th-that was not funny! It-" She cut herself off with a clear of her throat. Manners, Cat. Manners. She was in someone else's home after all. "..i-it's a very convincing.. rubber spider.." She mumbled quickly, rubbing a forehoof awkwardly behind her head with a nervously forced giggle. The pegasus blushed a deep scarlet beneath her fur and in her mind cursed herself for such irrational behavior. Knowing Cat, she would now proceed to try and cover up her mistake with something else. But as of right now her mind was blanking. She kept silent and made a vow to keep herself as unnoticeable as possible until the storm cleared up.
  17. Cat blinked in surprise at the little pegasus foal's offer to let them come into her home. Such a sweet offer, but she couldn't possibly say yes. How would her parents react to having an unknown teenage filly hanging around? The rain began to pick up and Cat's shiver's sped up with it. But she couldn't say no either. Her own home wasn't too far away but the stiffness in her joints brought up by the cold would make the trip that much longer. "Sweetie th-that's very nice of ya to do that but.." Cat looked at the pegasus foal who'd just shown her such hospitality. She looked far too young to be living on her own, that's for sure. "Y-you sure your parents'd be alright with strangers in your home?" The filly was beginning to get a grip on her speech as warmth quickly spread through her moist coat when she entered the foal's home. Now that she felt much cozier, Cat stretched her wings and kicked the mud off of her hooves before walking in and settling her small body to occupy a spot as she dried off. Feeling much better than before, Cat Napper felt less willing to head back outside. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to stay put for a little while. "You've got quite a bit of company here, kid." She said looking at the two other ponies the foal had invited in. One seemed stumped at trying to fit her ice cream cart in. "That's so generous of you to offer your ho-OOOOHGOSH!" Cat Napper jolted and scooted away from the violet filly she'd spoken to before entering. An enormous black spider rested on her head, giving the artist pegasus a chill of fear down her spine. She subconsciously raised her wings defensively over her eyes. Please don't let it touch me. She pleaded within her mind. Pleasepleaseplease Celestia don't let it near me..!"
  18. .. oh my gosh they must've been separated at birth or something .__. x3
  19. C-cold. Cat's movements were slow and limited, think a reptile losing body heat and being unable to produce more of it's own. One hoof in front of the other, the little pegasus girl walked with her wings and ears pinned close to her body for warmth. The weather was beginning to pick up, a little bit more into a full blown storm and it would be perfect weather for awesome-ing. She hadn't been out much and her wings were itching to fly her some place. She'd be out braving that storm in the most reckless of possible ways if it weren't so gosh darn cold! Teeth chattering, Cat began a feeble attempt to pick up speed and reach town square to find her apartment from there. Her tail swished in quick jerks with her rapid shivering, the droplets of fresh precipitation began to sink into her coat and chill her even further. Her exhausted eyes scanned the nondescript, gray weather around her and surprisingly she saw another figure braving the rain. A younger filly, what was she doing out? The weather would become severe in only a short time, for anypony less experienced in storms than Cat Napper herself that would be a dangerous feat. She stiffly trotted over to the indigo coated unicorn filly and smiled warmly despite the numbingly cold conditions. "W-weather's not t-too nice today huh? What're y-you doing out here b-b-by yourself? S-shouldn't you be st-staying warm inside like everypony els-s-se?" Her chattering teeth and shivering jaw made it difficult to talk as quick a pace as she'd like to. She said more to herself than the other pony in front of her. "N-not my kind of weather t-to say the l-l-least." Cat Napper was unusually sensitive to the cold, she had been ever since she was a young foal learning to flutter her wings. Even if this weather wasn't considered cold by Ponyville standards, she could still sense the sudden decrease in temperature. And she didn't like it. One thing the normally tolerant pegasus filly couldn't stand was cold weather. She'd been out today hearing that a storm was scheduled but was caught offguard by the rapid decline in heat that accompanied it. Swishing her tail irritably, she thought to herself how convenient it would've been if the weather ponies decided to include the cold in their report so she'd know ahead of time.
  20. Poison Joke reactions? I am inspired. Tenderfoot's reaction made me literally laugh out loud xD
