1. Slick said something to Knight, but he didn't hear him over his laughter at first, until Slick yelled it at him to get a board and surf with him. He stopped laughing, charged away to rent the surf board, and returned to Slick. "My first time surfing. It'll be totally awesome!" He yelled, as he charged for the water, throwing his surf board at the calm part as he swam on it towards the much wavier part. He arrived slightly far away from the beach, where good novice waves would be waiting for him. That wasn't enough for the foolish Knight. He swam further and further until a wave that would require somepony with at least SOME experience picked him up. He stood on the board, attempting to balance himself, until he inevitably fell over into the wave, and was swept up onto the shore. After coughing out some water, he started laughing again. "That was awesome!" He looked down on his flank with great expectations, but was disappointed to see he was still a blank flank. After a quick 'aw', he stood back up. "Oh well! Maybe I need to do that a few more times before I finally get my mark!"
2. (I guess I could RP Cheerilee if nobody else wants to. I don't know how well I'll do with her, but I'll try.)
3. Shadow sat with them, asking what they were talking about and being thankful that Angel seemed to be healing. Marble didn't want to talk about his newly found kinda' existant but really confusing love life at all, especially to some stranger. Even if that stranger helped them out in the test. Flash gave him advice to 'let the dust settle'. He wasn't sure if that was a metaphor, or if he was asking to let Lightning Dust settle with the idea for a while, but he nodded to it. Flash asked when the ceremony would be, and he raised his ears to hear Angel's answer.
4. Flashbomb told them his hope that they could all be in the same division. "That would be awesome! Wonderbolts: Sonic Boom division." He joked, remembering how three of his friends were capable of the rainboom, and even Lightning could have done it if she tried. Flash then asked about the silence between him and Lightning. "Well... You know... I k-kissed her... But we're just friends and... It's just... I don't know... I don't think we're actually in love, just... really really really really good friends?" Marble still wasn't able to explain his emotions well. "I think the kiss may have ruined our relationship a bit..."
5. They lined up at the mess hall for their food. Lightning didn't seem to notice the Freudian implications of everything that Marble said to her. It was rather silent as they got their food and sat down. Marble, starving, shoveled as much food in his mouth as possible in his first bite, chewing quickly and wanting more. He wasn't sure if it was from his hunger, or if it was part of the celebration, but the food was much better than it normally was. He had never eaten so quickly in his life. He was disappointed when he ran out, and quickly went for seconds. During those moments, he was able to stop thinking about the awkwardness he created, and just eat the delicious foods. Eventually, he slowed down as he began filling up, and lay back with satisfaction. His head began clearing as he could think again. "I wonder what rank I'll get. Probably a really low rank, but whatever, it's still an honor to be part of the Wonderbolts!"
6. Flashbomb told Marble that the mess hall was open. They both left, though Marble had the urge to bring his sketch pad and pencil. He brought them in his saddlebags, and they left the barracks. They ran into Lightning Dust, and there was another awkward silence between them. He really hoped he hadn't destroyed their friendship with the kiss. They walked down the hall, then conveniently ran into Angel. Flash offered to let him join them for food. Marble decided to try and break the ice between him and Lightning while they walked to the mess hall. "You'll look pretty awesome in the Wonderbolts Flight Suit." He said to her. "When do you think our first show will be? I bet everypony will love you." Since nothing was holding him back this time, he actually facehoofed at everything he said. GREAT way to show her that you still consider her just a good friend. 'Everypony will love you.' 'Our show.'
7. Lightning accepted his apology, and the two flew up together. They eventually arrived, thankfully not last despite being behind the normal group, and separated to take a good, long shower. He trotted into the stallions barracks, removed his uniform, said a quick hello to Flashbomb, who was on the top bunk again, and entered the slightly crowded shower room. After cleaning out the dirt, combing away his matted coat, and removing some twigs he hadn't noticed in his mane, he turned the water off, and returned to his bottom bunk. His stomache growled loudly again, reminding him that he missed an entire day of eating. "Do you think the mess hall's open?" He asked Flash, clutching his chest as starving pains began coursing through him.
8. Everypony seemed to be crowding around Slick, asking if he was alright. Slick jumped up in defense, saying he was fine. Knight laughed after he made a freudian slip, telling Shade specifically that he was fine, even though she didn't say anything. And he was blushing so much! Knight fell on the warm sand, laughing his plot off. "Stop it Slick! I'm gonna' die of laughter!" He yelled between his impertinent giggles, as he wiped away a tear that was welling up in his eye.
9. The instructor yelled for them to line up. Marble was happy for an excuse to end the awkwardness. He lined up with the rest of his friends as the instructor went down to examine the cadets. He was excited for the ceremony, where he would officially be a Wonderbolt. The instructor yelled at Flashbomb about his uniform and asked for somepony to vouch for him. Marble really wanted to, but couldn't stand the idea of having everypony looking at him at that moment. Thankfully, Lightning Dust raised her voice for him. He smiled at her, happy that she had the bravery he didn't normally have. The instructor yelled for them to leave. He stayed for a moment, wanting to leave when everypony else did, but when the instructor threatened them with 200 wing push ups, he left with everypony else, trying to keep up with Lightning Dust. Now that there was less awkwardness, he was able to speak again. "I'm sorry, I-I didn't mean to... k-kiss you... I hope this doesn't affect our friendship..." FRIENDZONED! "I'm just a bit confused right now... Are we cool?" He couldn't help but look in her eyes. He was blushing while doing so, having troubles hiding his emotions once again.
10. (Oh right XD) Lightning Dust seemed just as flustered as Marble, muttering apologies and just saying things to avoid an awkward silence. He stared at her for a few moments, and began thinking other thoughts. She wasn't exactly a model. Most ponies who enter the Wonderbolts aren't models, unless they're in their uniforms and signing autographs. But despite being rather tomboyish and not the prettiest pony to most, he found something very intriguingly beautiful about her. It must be her eyes. He looked her in her eyes. The orangish yellow colour, the shape, even the eyelashes somehow seemed different from other mares he saw, and he found himself drawn to them. I-is this what love is? He was very confused at this point. They were just friends, right? Friends who flew together, competed against each other, understood each other... Cried with each other... He really couldn't think of any way to explain it. He hoped she could say something to help him come to terms with his feelings. He managed to blush more at Flashbomb's teasings, though stifled a few nervous giggles afterwards.
11. There was much awkwardness for a few moments, but then, she pulled him in, hugging him at first, then kissed back! He wasn't sure how to feel about that. He didn't mean to originally kiss her, it just... Happened. Yet, he didn't want to NOT kiss her. It was his first time kissing some other mares, a surprise to many of his work colleagues, but he just never had the desire before. Even then, he was questioning it, yet he didn't stop. They began floating, and she pulled him into a hug. We're suppose to fly when making out? That's a first. He nearly facehoofed again for thinking such thoughts, then realized he would have struck Lightning (as opposed to Lightning striking him) if he did that. He was able to pull away, his face red with awkwardness, as he giggled awkwardly, not being able to think of anything to say. Overall, it was quite awkward.
12. Marble looked back as more cadets exited the forest. Amongst them, Marble noticed Lightning Dust. He was abnormally happy seeing her. He trotted over to her. "Hey Lightning!" He said enthusiastically. "We're finally Wonderbolts!" He yelled excitedly. He then kissed her. Wait... Marble's eyes snapped open as he realized what he did. He jerked back, now flying up awkardly and making noises, as if trying to explain himself. "I didn't meant to- I just- Sorry- What happened?!" He went from quiet muscle man to nervous fanboy to socially awkward weirdo in nearly ten seconds flat right after leaving the forest.
13. Marble hadn't seen Shadow there. He didn't really want to question why he was there at the time, especially since it seemed they were late for leaving the forest. He flew with Flash and Shadow quickly out the Everfree Forest, and finally arrived outside of Ponyville with everypony else. Is this it then? Am I a Wonderbolt? Marble thought, slightly with relief, and also feeling slightly disappointed. I was kinda' hoping for some big party I guess. He finally realized, facehoofing for not seeing her before, when he looked down on Spitfire. Now he couldn't hide his blush or his shyness as he giggled nervously, trying to say a million things. He was standing in front of one of the ponies he admired for so long, and he had nothing to say. He quickly cleared his throat. "Er... Hi!" He tried to keep his voice from going lower from his shyness, which was mostly successful. "S-so... Are we Wonderbolts now then?"
14. Marble slept quite soundly despite his bed being made of twigs, and his blanket being made of leaves. His dreams were mostly normal ones, involving him going to funny places with his friends. It was odd to see that Flashbomb, Lyria, Angel and Lightning Dust were in it instead of his normal work friends that usually wandered about his dream world. He felt a shaking, but thought nothing of it as he drank his cup and threw away his tea. Then the shaking jolted again, and he woke up, upside down and moving. "GAH!" Marble screamed quietly, as he flinched up and was now hovering above where he was. Awareness came back slowly, and he remembered resting in the cave for the test. He looked down at Flash. "Oh, it's only you." He floated back down to the ground and walked with him. "We just have to leave now. Knowing our luck, we'll run into a few dragons before that happens."
15. Slick said he was fine, but Knight didn't trust him too well. Especially after he started panicking and asking if Shade saw. "How the hay should I know?" He asked him, with notes of sarcasm in his voice. Shade then began yelling at them, and Knight heard her say she saw the whole thing. "That answers it." He told Shade sarcastically again. "Why do you care anyways? It's not like she's somepony special..." He looked down at Slick with an accusatory stare. "... Right?"
16. The scarred pegasus accepted his offer for a diving competition, but first wanted to crack a clam he found. "It's a deal!" Knight told him. Knight hadn't noticed the surfboard Slick was on, until he started surfing off. Not exactly surfing. Aren't you suppose to stand on the board? Not cower in fear on it? Slick began barreling down the wave towards the beach. Knight stared in confusion at Slick's funny way of surfing, then just put it off as one of Slick's funny way of doing things. Like his sitting. The scarred pegasus flew off somewhere, seemingly to crack the clam open. Knight noticed that he was now alone in the middle of the area he was in. He started swimming back to shore to find Slick. He found him rubbing his head. "You okay dude?" He asked, looking down at Slick. "You sure have a funny idea of what surfing is." I wonder if I could get a surfing cutie mark.
17. After yelling for the others, Slick and the rest of the colts ran out of the cabin, excited for the waters. After slipping on his swim trunks, he charged at the water. "LEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOY.... WINGKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINSS!!!!" He screamed, as he made a running jump into the water, hitting with a cannonball and a large splash. He came back up laughing, and mostly floating in place. He swam over to where Slick was, talking with two other ponies. "Yo!" He greeted them. "Maybe I can get a diving cutie mark?" He noted, looking down in the water. He then gave the nearby pony, the scarred pegasus from earlier, a competitive glare.
18. Flashbomb seemed cool with Marble's choice of independence. He wasn't even sure why he didn't want Flash to help him find food, it just gave him a bad feeling. Flash then began setting up their camp again, making make shift beds out of leaves and sticks, and starting a warm fire. Flash then reminded him that graduation was the next day, and he began smiling again. I can go a night without food I guess. I'll just eat half the mess hall tomorrow. Feeling excited and joyous, he climbed into his bed hoping to fall asleep quickly and wake up with the whole situation over. "Night Flash." He muttered, as he lay his head down and forced his eyes closed. His excitement, mixed with his hunger would definitely keep him from having a restful sleep, but eventually, he drifted off into his dream world.
19. Flashbomb and Marble watched the rain. Although Marble didn't have the enthusiasm for it like his brother, he still found himself happy watching the chaotic thunder in the forest. He didn't think of his troubles, his finances, his stupid job, or even things he needed at that moment, like heat, water, or the fact that he hadn't eaten the entire day. He was in a moment of joy that he wanted to last as long as it could. He watched the sun set, as the moon rose, creating specks of stars through the large storm cloud above the sky. Flashbomb stood up and reminded him of his survival needs though. His stomache growled loudly. Now that he wasn't having a million different emotional problems at once, it really caught up with him. Flashbomb called from deeper in the forest to check something out. Though slightly panicky from his bad experiences, he reluctantly stepped deeper into the cave, to eventually run into Flashbomb with three different trees in the cave. "Where did these come from?" He asked nopony in particular. His stomache growled loudly again. He glared at Flash. "I can find food myself later. Don't worry yourself over it."
20. Flashbomb was giving Marble another motivational speech. Despite being rather cheesy, it was really working. He finally made Marble realize some of his more positive traits, and reminded him that nopony is perfect. Really, the amount of bromance and cheesiness made Marble start laughing. It started as a quiet giggle, but began growing louder and more cheerful. He felt truly happy. Probably the first time since he was a younger colt without a care in the world. He eventually stopped himself, getting use to the humor of the situation, and joined Flash in watching the rain. He was getting nostalgic at this point. "You remind me of my little brother." He said to Flash. "Just smarter." He ended that with another laugh. "I remember he loved rain. I hated it at first, but... He always seems to see the positives in everything. He told me how awesome the lightning was, and how exciting the many possibilities were, the lovely smell it gave off, and how soothing the rain was. How it was the best for lulling him to sleep. He convinced me that rain was a nice thing, almost as awesome to watch as a Wonderbolts show." He rambled on. He couldn't believe how much he was talking. Usually, he'd just shut up and watch the rain with an odd amount of wonderment.
21. Flashbomb moved slightly, giving Marble more space, which he was thankful for, even though he enjoyed the heat. He apologized for the awkwardness. He nodded, not able to think of anything else to say. He then apologized for making him mad earlier, and was interrupted by thunder. Marble hardly noticed. There's already some awkward bromance, I might as well stop hiding my thoughts. Marble took a deep breath. "It's not your fault. I'm just a stupid pony. It's not even that really. It's just..." Marble sighed trying to think of a way to explain his feelings. "You and the others are so amazing. You're fast, strong, and most of you can do a sonic boom of some sort. And you're all so nice, and helpful, and confident, and not afraid to speak your mind. I-I guess you just made me feel a bit... Insignificant..." Tears began welling up in his eyes again.
22. Stuff happened, and eventually, all that was left was Marble with Flash (though probably somepony else who I forgot about). It almost seemed awkward, two colts alone huddled up together in a cave in the middle of an abandoned forest. Marble shuddered at what other ponies would think. "Where is everypony else?" He finally asked. "Do you think something happened to Shadow?"
23. After his talk, Slick seemed to give up on trying, much to Knight's relief. They walked along the beach. The first thing Knight noticed was the salty smell of the beach, followed by the crashing of the waves mixed with pelicans chirping about. It almost seemed too peaceful and quiet for Knight's tastes. The red sand was definitely a sight, something Knight found very awesome as he picked up a scoop of it, disappointed to find it had the texture of regular sand. The crystal clear water was sparkling in the warm sun, and begging for somepony to give a giant cannonball in it. But Knight had to do something first. He followed Miss Licorice as she showed everypony their cabins. He made a note to avoid the fillies cabin. He entered the boys cabin with Slick and several of the others. Slick was too fast for Knight, and had already taken the top bunk. "Awww." He complained. "Ah well, bottom bunk's cool too." He told himself, as he threw his saddlebag below Slick's bed. "Wanna' go swimming dude?" He asked Slick, looking out the door at the much-too-calm ocean. How come I hear waves if I don't see them?
24. Flashbomb seemed to be calming down. He was able to stand up and shake the water off himself now. Marble quickly followed that action, as he stayed close to share the minimal amounts of heat they had. "I-I'm sorry I can't do more..." He muttered to Flashbomb, as his self pity returned. Then, another thought came to him. "Where's Lightning Dust?" He started getting panicky again. "She stayed back at your camp... Right?"
25. Flashbomb and the others entered the cave and began drying off. Flashbomb seemed to be shaking the heaviest, and fell over. Marble's expression went panicky as he knew what was happening. Flashbomb asked for him to start a fire, as he was so cold. Marble looked outside. There was no chance that any of the wood out there would even make a spark. He looked in the cave. Nothing in the immediate area looked flammable, and he didn't want to go any further after his bad luck with caves. "I-I'm sorry Flash. There's nothing to light on fire..." He said to him sadly. He began crying again, though his tears mixed in with his soaking coat making it impossible to see. The feeling of uselessness returned to him. He wanted to yell or scream, but knew it could only draw out any creatures in the cave. Not able to think of anything else, Marble flopped himself on Flash, transferring his body heat. It wasn't much, Marble was just about as cold, but it was better than just leaving him there. While laying on him for warmth, he began going through their coats to wipe out the freezing rain, to hopefully let them warm up. Marble sobbed the entire time, worrying that Flash would die while he could do nothing.
