  1. Question Mark shrugged, "I really don't know what defines someone as a friend. I mean I've looked up the definition before." He paused for a minute and closed his eyes. "It's a pony that somepony knows and shares mutual affection with, usually outside of family. How am I supposed to know if anypony feels affection for me? It seems kinda... um... narcissistic of myself to assume the feelings of others... but I guess you wouldn't know that. Seeing as you know..." A whitsful chuckle escaped his mouth, before he quickly regained his composure. He had worked most of his life in a place where you were required to talk to ponies on a daily basis, and yet, even with the regulars he chatted up, he still felt... foreign. He saw how everypony acted... and he felt like he couldn't relate. It wasn't for his or others lack of trying, but still... he never felt right about calling others his friends, without thier approvel. He didn't feel lonely per say. But still something in his soul tugged to be given affection, or accepted, or even... His eyes suddenly shot up and stared at the unicorn in front of him. "Err... you... um... sense that? Is that how it works?"
  2. Question Mark blinked at the question, his eyes going wide in confusion. "I- What? Friends with them? Oh no... no never. Why would I do that? It's a job, just like any other... um... to put it into perspective... would you consider us friends after this? Probably not, I mean, isn't that 'unproffessional'? I mean I don't make friends with the ponies at the cafe... why should being a detective magically make me friends?" He paused to think for a moment. "Besides ponies are usually so happy to get their stuff back they probably want to go celebrate with their real friends, not with the pony that found it. I usually leave right after I give it back... or sometimes I just leave it on their front door and knock... seems easier." He grinned brokenly, though their was a slight uneasiness and longing in his heart. "The thrill of finding the item is enough for me. I'm fine with just being the unsung pony... It's who I am..." He was stuggling to continue talking, his words seemed to escape him the longer he talked. So he stopped and stared at Heart Healer. "... If that makes any sense to you."
  3. Question Mark smile whistfully at the unicorn. "Of course you can use that. Who am I to deny the right of ponies to use their special gifts?" He though about the school that she had talked about and felt slightly jealous. "Sounds like an amazing gift, is it unique to you? Could any other unicorn learn it?" He pulled out his book on unicorns and magic. "I haven't gotten very far into this book, so I wouldn't know all that much... but I think a power like that could be bad if it got into the general population."
  4. Question mark blinked "No question? Oh... about me huh. Well I live in Solstice Heights, in my own house, by myself. And I work at my dad's cafe here in Canterlot, and I like to read and learn new things... Oh I'm also a amature detective... I guess. I mostly work with finding lost object; necklaces, hoof braclets, horn rings, the like. Sometimes that even pays, but not often. I still like it though." He looked up at Heart Healer, blinking rapidly. "Wow, that was weird... I usually don't talk about myself as much.... um what about you? Did you go to school to learn how to do." He gestured vaguley around the room. "This? Your work and... stuff?"
  5. Question Mark stared at the unicorn with a mixture of slight concern and great enthusiasm. "Oh? Well alright, if that's what you want... Um... you go first I guess... It's mares first right?" He started gathering all of his paper back into his saddle bags. "My parent are always so concerned about me, but I'm not quite sure why, I'm a grown... just turned stallion, living on my own. Why are they still babying me? It's not like I need any help or anything."
  6. Question Mark smiled kindly and reached into his saddle bag, pulling out a mess of papers. Most had the words "Lost" or "Missing" at the top, one was even from the clinic here. He finally found what he was looking for, a handwritten note. He cleared his throat and began to read from it. "Greetings Heart Healer, my name is Coffee Bean, and you are currently seeing my son Question Mark. It has come to my wife's and myself's attention that he has shown very little intrest in dealing with other ponies, of either gender. We are worried both about him and his future. You see... he's never shown any intrest in mares or stallions, and while he seem alright on the outside, we can tell he's lonely. We were hoping you could break through his shell, and help him be able to open up to others." Question Mark looked up from the note, his eyes blinked slowly. " That's what they say, but I think I'd like to learn about how you um... profile ponies?" He struggled to find the right words. "Um... and well yeah, I'm curious."
  7. Question Mark had heard his names called by the pony behind the front desk, and in response he placed his book back in his saddlebags and made his way into the counseling room. He gentilly opened the door and quickly glance around the room, before his gaze stopped on the unicorn sitting in a huge chair. He nodded towards her and made his way over to the empty couch. He sat on the edge and continued his examiniation of the room. "Heart Healer right? I saw the posters around town, thought it might be interesting. Counseling is quite a noble and difficult career." He stopped for a minute, then shook his head with a forced smile on his face. "My dad insisted I should come, but I'm not quite sure why..."
  8. My first thought was "Holy goodness his spelling is bad" then I reallized it was an accent I could understand it fine, just make sure you capitalise names and such
  9. Sounds like a plan, I wish this website had a live chat... or does it and I'm just ignorent?
  10. Um... Cainiam I have a small suggestion, if you don't mind. Do you think there will ever be event specific to a character relating to their element, for example if CouldShimmer's character has to test his loyalty, the rest of us will become like background characters for that encounter. It's kinda hard to explain over typed word.
  11. Oh right! For those of you who haven't read Fallout Equestria, the way the ponies used their guns was either in their mouth for small arms or melee weapons (The trigger was specially made for ponies), for bigger weapons, (Sniper and Flamer for CloudShimmers and Thebluemage) was something called a "battlesaddle" they would basically strap the weapon to either side of their saddlebags, and use a mouth trigger for it. Unicorns usually used levetation... Just F.Y.I. for you all, you don't have to use it this way, but just in case you are wondering how a pony could use a heavy weapon... yeah.
  12. Well we could always have idle interaction between characters where applicable. Not during a fight sequence, but just as we wait for someone who needs to progress the story, and the ponies are in a reletivly safe place, where chatting would be acceptable.
  13. I'll start? Whew, no pressure eh? Oh by the by you were talking about skype right? Mine's Iceheart543 if it's ever needed.
  14. That would be the only way I could see this working, 18+ and free for all are both nessesary. One question, will this be like dungons and dragons, with a bunch of story related and random encounters, or will we also get to flush out our characters and there relationship with one another.
  15. Name: Fern (Ugh... If anyone has a better name, let me know... I really suck at making up names) Main Weapon: "Honest Lie" A slightly worn lever action shotgun. It shows signes of obvious repair from over the years. Secondary Weapon: "Curiosity" An strangly well kept .38 detective special pistol, that she recived from a small box in the armory. Melee Weapon: "The Truth" Sometimes the truth hurts, and so does this maple body baseball bat. Appearance: Fern is a light green unicorn with a long dark red mane and tail. She wears the regular Vault 54 uniform and a small pair of glasses. Her glasses, while mostly for fashion purposes do help correct a reduced eyesight, so without them, her aim will suffer greatly Personality: Fern was assigned by her G.O.A.T. as a vault counselor, known for her blunt honesty and emotional distance from the problems presented to her. She herself is quite quiet, not enjoying chatting without any need or value. She will also always tell ponies the truth, no matter the consequences. She is distant, often found staring off into space. She has some sort of mysterious charm, that often results in her often getting her way when it comes to buying or selling, or convincing others of her way of thinking. She is physically weak, but psycologically and emotionally strong. Her magic is limited to levetation, healing, and an extreamly weak lie detection spell, the latter being unreliable and usually ignored. Personal Perk: Honest Resolve: Fren's psycological state pushes her body forward, even through physical pain. When her health drops below 30% her perception and agility are increased by 1, but her intelligence drops by 1. (This is just for fun, and will not effect gameplay.)
  16. Alright, just one question as I'm writing. I'm assuming skills, and S.P.E.C.I.A.L attributes are non-important, right?
  17. I loved the game New Vegas, and would really like to be a part of this, if that alright. Could I be the element of honesty? I'll make a character sheet if confirmed.
  18. Of course, ponies who didn't have to option of flight were just as pleased with the day, for example a young earth pony was making his way through the crowd, his clothing declaring that he was of the working class. He felt slightly underdressed in his dad's cafe's uniform, among all the dresses and suits, and he slowly started to look for a way out of the crowd. A backstreet? Sure, why not? He quickly ducked into the sidestreet, breathing a sigh of relief at the lack of ponies in the general vacinity. He didn't hate other ponies, but the mindless chatter about hoof-rings, dresses and dances were getting on his nerves. His eyes caught something pinned to the wall of one of the buildings... A lost pendent? He nodded and took the paper off the wall, slipping it into his almost ever present saddlebags. His eyes returned to the path ahead for a second before turning up to the sky. "Wow... It's really beautiful today... the pegasi did a great job." He muttered, before shaking his head, messing up his short green mane, and continuing on his way down the backstreet, wondering what the day had in store for him.
  19. Question Mark stood outside the Mending Hearts Clinic, staring at the door in a mixture of intense curiosity, and slight discomfort. He twisted his head slightly and opened one of his saddlebags, pulling out a piece of paper with the address he had been given for this place. He placed it on the ground and examined it again for anything he might have missed. Of course there wasn't, he had read it enough times to recite it from memory. "Mending Hearts Clinic, Heart Healer, emotional counseling." He said to himself, glancing back up at the door. He gently placed the paper back in his bag, and took the several steps necessary to approch the door. "I can't believe I'm doing this..." He mumbled, as he slowly opened the door. His eyes immediately darted around the room, taking in as much information as he could in the shortest amount of time, and he gently closed the door behind him. His eyes flickered to rest on the sign that declared. 'Sign in here.' He noticed, and as he approched, someone behind the counter. He nodded, but didn't bother acknowledging them further. He signed his name and noticed the name above him. "Radiant Steel..." He muttered under his breath, glancing at the door with the sign 'Counseling room,' and noted that it was closed. He heard a preppy voice call out. "Heart Healer is currently with another-" "I know." He cut off the other pony quickly, not thinking in the slightest about his actions. Question Mark turned his back on them and walked over to the waiting area, taking a seat, and pulled a book out of his saddlebags. 'Unicorns and Magic: A History,' he slowly turned the page, running a hoof through his green, short cut mane. "Hm... Unicorns must have it so easy..." He mused. "Emotional counseling, huh? I guess we'll see about this." His eyes flickered up awkwardly to the door. "...It could be interesting... a learning experience." He nodded to himself, then quietly went back to his book. (OCC: First post, Sorry if I broke any rules...)
