  1. ((OOC: We're waiting for Ironkau, but I can post this for now. Wow. Even with that awesome recap, I'm still finding myself confused, especially since Cronk and Curse have such similar names. But I think I figured it out! )) Lovestone stepped into the museum and shuddered at the milling crowds. She didn't think a backwater town like Ponyville would have such an appreciation for art. But there was no time for that now - she needed to find the pony that was her only link to Insanity. She crept along the wall, taking deep breaths to try to ignore the pounding hooves and thousand happy voices, until she found a slightly quieter area from which a few exhibit halls led. A new Griffin exhibit seemed to be attracting most of the attention, and she groaned at the size of the crowd in that wing. This was not a great day to be agoraphobic. She decided to start with the emptiest area first, which appeared to be the Ponatello wing. She could only see one pony in there standing by the door. She trotted up to him and tapped him on the shoulder. "Excuse me, sir, have you seen-" She gasped when he turned to face her. "The creepy beggar!" she said loudly enough for the few other ponies walking by to stare at her. "You! What have you done with Insanity? Where is she, you lunatic?" She was in his face, loud, upset and ignoring her instincts to run.
  2. "Alright, here goes. Oh boy, if Meringue could see me right now, she'd kill me. She's probably going to kill me anyway, that is if I don't die from this." She laughed nervously and put a snow-white foreleg around each pony's neck, clutching it tightly. "I'm ready, guys. This is a little new for me. You better not drop me. Please. Please don't drop me..."
  3. "Oh, oh, I'm sorry to hear that," Marshie said to Cloud, looking sincerely sorry. "Our dad passed away a few years ago, but losing both your parents when you're young must be really difficult. Especially having to take care of a sibling. Still, I bet you two are really close now, huh? Do you get to see her much?" She grinned at Sour. "You guys are so helpful. It's been a while since I met such friendly ponies. You all should really think of moving to Ponyville; I think the local stock could be improved by a few ponies like you. Alright, how do you want to do this? Shall I climb atop or hang from below?"
  4. Marshie giggled at Belmont. "You live with your family, huh? I live with my older sister Meringue. She's a sweetheart, works as a waitress at that French place in town, I forget what it's called. I can't pronounce it anyway. Do either of you travelers have family around? Our mom lives in Manhattan, but the rest of us are so scattered we don't keep track of them. It's a shame, family's a special thing." Just then Cloud asked her about flying into town. She laughed. "Oh, I know. The earth pony of the group ties everyone to the ground. I appreciate the offer, and I don't mean to cast any doubt on your athletic prowess, but do you really think you can lift me?" She wiggled her generous flank, grinning.
  5. "You okay, Belmont?" Marshie asked, concerned. "Well, maybe a walk and some refreshments will do you good." She grinned back at Cloud as they started walking towards Ponyville. "I work at Quills and Sofas in town. You've probably walked by it, but people never seem to notice it until they need something to sit on or write with. Davenport, that's my boss, he's kind of a crazy old coot for starting the business in the first place, but we still manage to turn a profit every month! Probably mostly because Twilight Sparkle, you know, the weirdo librarian? Yeah, she buys quills by the bushel. I think she breaks them because she presses down so hard when she writes. A little uptight, that one. Anyway, I'm sure you don't care much about that. What about you? Do you live in town?" She automatically flipped open her saddlebag to grab out a moon pie, then remembered they were all gone and frowned.
  6. Lovestone's jaw was hanging open. The little yellow Pegasus that she'd been chatting so nicely with was gone, foalnapped by someone she couldn't even see. She supposed the beggar in front of her was in cahoots with the kidnapping as well, because he disappeared while she was still whipping her head around trying to figure out what happened to Insanity. "What. Just. Happened," she said out loud, though there was no one to hear her. Ten minutes ago all she had to worry about was getting her shopping done on time, and now she had a kidnapped and beaten mare on her hands. Or off of them, rather, but she wasn't going to leave it at that. She shook her head to clear it and felt her protective instincts begin to well up again. If I had been paying more attention, she started to berate herself, then stopped. There was no time for that now. It was time to get the police. She shoved her way through the market crowds, praying to Celestia it wouldn't be too late for her new friend by the time they found her. The police station was just over there, a few doors down from the museum.... suddenly her glance was caught. The creepy beggar from before. Disappearing into the museum. She glanced indecisively back and forth between the police station and the still-rotating museum door, and cursing herself for not picking the obviously smarter choice, followed him inside. ((OOC: This is on my phone, so hopefully there aren't too many silly typos!))
  7. -6 Scootaloo Power-up x2 Bon Bon ...Because who needs ANOTHER Rainbow Dash.
  8. Marshie giggled and waved her hoof at Cloud. "Oh, you. Don't be so silly. Of course you can come! I didn't have much to do this afternoon anyway, might as well make an outing of it." She waded through the ponies away from the tree and turned around, raising her voice so the rest of them could hear her. "If anyone wants to come into town with us, me and these lovely ponies are leaving right now, so follow us!" She turned to Cloud, Sour, and Belmont, and grinned. "Ready?"
  9. ((OOC: I am a terrible RPer right now. Would you believe my first days of summer vacation I was bedridden with the flu? And would you also believe that I wrote a post before and it disappeared? Excuses excuses, I'm all better now and I'll try to post a lot more frequently.)) "Nice to meet you, Insanity," she replied, smiling, as she surreptitiously inspected the pegasus's injuries. They didn't look too horrible, but they did look painful for sure. Not something Lovestone herself would have been thrilled to have. She looked into Insanity's eyes again to ask another question or five. "Do you live in the area?" Before Insanity could reply or Lovestone start to interrogate her about her life story, their conversation was interrupted by the words, "Whatever happened to you?" Lovestone looked up, startled, as a creepy grey unicorn walked up to the pair of them. He said a few more things, but she wasn't listening; she was too busy trying to figure out what this weirdo's objective was. He gave her the chills, looked like he could use a bath, and had the air of a con artist about him. He's probably a beggar, she decided, and flipped open her saddlebag. Maybe she could make him leave the pair of them alone. "Sorry sir, we're not interested. Here, take this. Have a nice day." She held out a couple of bits in her hoof with a faint, dismissive smile. No eye contact, of course. That would only encourage him.
  10. +5 Princess Luna -1 Berry Punch Powerup x2 Princess Luna Stop targeting royalty before Snips wins by default! Everyone hates Snips!
  11. I really like the idea of using Celestia and Luna to advance the plot. Especially if it's (as suggested) about Celestia and Luna ascending to the throne. I think that would be a perfect way to keep things on-track but still immersive, and after all, they're alicorns - they'd have all the power anyway. I just realized, though, the chronology of Starswirl is a bit muddy. In Luna Eclipsed, Luna acts like she used to know him, but in Hearth's Warming Eve, he's the mentor of Clover the Clever, who precedes C&L by quite some time. In fact... if I'm allowed to bend the timeline a bit... I'd love to play both Starswirl and a young Clover the Clever. How about having only a certain amount of slots available, say, one for each Mane-6 preincarnation + Doctor + Derpy, and letting people call dibs? Would that increase the potential for annoying Donut Steeles etc? I just feel like looking over applications is more involved than this fic might want to be. And as for now we've only got 5 people possibly interested, besides OP. Anyone else? I hope this comes to fruition.
  12. Sorry! He's just so swagtastic I had to share him with the world. Truly a work of art of which you should be proud.
  13. ((OOC: Sorry guys, omigosh the school year is OVER. )) Lovestone wasn't dumb. She could tell the pegasus was far from fine, and not just physically. She noticed the way her eyes darted to the lemonade line, and how she tucked into herself as though hiding from something that terrified her - she'd seen it plenty of times in fillies afraid of the dark. Someone in that line was the yellow mare's bogeyman. (And probably the one who'd given her these bruises in the first place). She also noticed the way the pegasus almost winced away from Lovestone's sympathetic concern, and decided to try a slightly different tactic. After all, Mother always told her that a new approach meant a new advance, and she was determined to find out what and who was scaring her so badly. "Well, you look kinda hurt," Lovestone said, grimacing at the other pony's bruises, then smiling into her face. "But I'm Lovestone. Sorry if I made you feel weird. What's your name?"
  14. Now that you all hopefully feel bad for killing off Celestia... +5 Pinkie Pie -1 Rainbow Dash Powerup x2 Bon Bon
  15. Dear Princess Celestia, I don't know how we're going to make it without you. Especially your sister - she's breaking under the grief and the sudden weight of a country in need. All of Equestria mourns your passing, as do I. You were my strength, my sunshine, my mentor, my teacher... my friend. We need you, Princess. Please come back to us. Always your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle
  16. +5 Bon Bon -1 Trixie Power-up x2 Bon Bon Hey, I missed a few days. I feel so behind the times.
  17. I had to vote Diamond Tiara/Silver Spoon just because of their portrayal in FiW. Which I am aware is not canon. Queen Chrysalis, though, holds the key to my heart forever. She's just so... beautiful. So scheming. So powerful. Did I mention beautiful? She's so gorgeous, I'm surprised she had to morph into Cadance to get ponies' love to feed on. And her voice...! "Who says a girl can't really have it all?" *adorable giggle*
  18. My number one biggest annoyance with the fandom is all the adult stuff where little kids can see it. Now, don't get me wrong, I laughed at the .MOV's (sorta ) and I like silly and/or tasteful saucy ponies. But I'm an adult and I can handle it. Every time I try to share the show with my little sisters I have to constantly monitor the websites we're on just in case random porn or profanity pops up. And I hate it! They're little girls! Keep the grownup stuff separate, please! Grrrr. I'm also a mite disturbed by the people who turn Bronyism into a religion. Maybe it's because I'm already Christian, so I don't feel the need to add another, but geez guys, it's a cartoon, not a cult. I'm glad people are trying to follow the values taught in the show, but scale back the obsession a tad before we all start drinking the Kool-Aid. Other than that, I find myself highly amused by most of the things posted here. My favorite crack shipping is TomxBloomberg. Newborn Cuties has become an inside joke between my non-brony dad and I. Donut Steele always brightens my day! I mean, just look at all that swag! He can't even keep his hooves on the ground! But then, I don't get irritated easily, because (wait for it) I'm exactly like Fluttershy! Trolling, I do see a bit of myself in everypony (except Dashie), but I actually apologized the other day for disturbing my dad's sleep by puking my guts out. Tell me that's not something she would do?
  19. I did mention it up above in the Occupation section -- she works at a bookstore and a furniture store. Thanks for looking!
  20. ((OOC: No problemo, Inuchan! I've been busy too.)) Marshie looked up over the heads of the ponies surrounding her and saw somepony familiar. She breathed a sigh of relief. "Nova!" she squealed, and waved her hoof. "It's been a while!" She excused herself through the small crowd and walked to her friend -- well, acquaintance by sight, really, but still. She clapped him on the shoulder and said, "How've you been? These are a bunch of new ponies I just met. Sort of an impropmtu gathering. I think it was the siren song of my moon pies." She giggled and went to pull another from her saddlebag, but they were all gone. She grumbled a bit, then shrugged. "Well, I have to go buy some more, so I'm heading back to Ponyville. What are you up to right now?"
  21. ((OOC: Sorry guys, finals week kind of snuck up on me. Two down, one to go, then I'll be back for real!)) Lovestone smiled at the pretty green mare, then turned to sweep her gaze over the crowd. This shopping business really had to be done, no more procrastinating. The anxious knot in her stomach tightened as she watched the shifting mass of ponies in the heat of the afternoon. She sighed and began to turn back to the lemonade stand, when something caught her eye -- a bright yellow pegasus that looked vaguely familiar, but she pushed the thought aside as she took in the pony's dishevelled and bruised state. Her heart wrenched as she turned all her attention to the poor limping mare. She wondered briefly what had happened. A traffic accident? A mugging? A bar brawl? Well, it was a little early for that, but grudges knew no calling hours. With barely a glance back at Sour Lemonade, she shifted her saddlebags and trotted to the park bench the other pony had just eased down onto, secretly relieved for another valid distraction from her dreaded chore. "Ma'am? Are you okay?" she said politely, but couldn't keep a note of concern out of her voice.
  22. That suuuuucks. Didn't Tales do a partial count on page 4? At least you don't have to count the whole thread from the beginning.
