  1. Mojo was relieved when he saw Hoss had discovered his plight and was working to get him free of the huge spider web as the Pegasus flrst slammed into him with the wrapped up jet pack. "Good show! That shoudda squashed it.... that thing must be made of iron! Not cool!" Seeing Hoss's attack did nothing more than anger the giant spider, Mojo started to fear the worst until the Pegasus stallion reached for his front hooves and began to pull hard. It was now a race, a race against time with Hoss pulling with all his might while the spider squirmed to get out from under the gray jet pack. To the Paint pony's relief, he felt himself working free, the force of the last strong tug sending them both flying through the air. Mojo landed with a thud back out on the trail. "Wow! That was a jolly good rescue, thanks Hoss! I didn't think anyone was gonna spot me from the road. Hoss? HOSS? Where are ya, chum?" Searching the woods near the road, Mojo was careful to stay away from the stray clusters of poison joke. Suddenly, a brown Pegasus emerged who called him by name, a lovely MARE who complained about her voice. "Pardon me miss, but have ya seen me pal Hoss? He was just.., half a mo' is that YOU Shanna? What the devil are you doin' here? You have a race to... wait... you're not Shanna.... you're.... HOSS!!!!!" Mojo was stunned to see his rescuer was now a mare rather than a stallion. "That ruddy poison joke did that to ya! Oh my! You'll need to get the cure from that mysterious zebra who lives out in the Everfree Forest... Zecora I think's her name. I'd love to stay and wrap with ya, but I really need ta git back in the race. Maybe the Professor knows how to mix up the cure! He being a big brain and all! Thanks again, love! Er... chum... anyway, bye!" Mojo now realized he's lost a lot of valuable time. If he wanted to have any chance of winning, he needed to gallop all out now. Foresaking his previous strategy, the determined Paint stallion took off like a shot and ran with all his might down the trail. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After scaring off a bunch of snakes, a giddy Granny Smith flapped her wings forward to try to rejoin Big MacIntosh. As she fluttered, she came upon Gilda. "I saw ya cheatin' ya big ugly bird critter! Here's a Granny stare for ya!" After doing her 'stare', the elderly Pegasus mare continued to move further down the lead pack until she met the airborne Julibee and Louise LaMare. "GRANNY!" Jubilee shouted. "Thank Equestria we found ya!" "You have to come back with us!" pleaded Louise, "those wings of yours were created with unstable magic! They could vanish at any time!" "Go back? HORSEAPPLES! I'ma havin' my best day in decades! Git outta my way, I wanna find my grandkids! Have either you gals seen Applejack or Applebloom? Applebloom might not be in the race but I know fer a fact Applejack wouldn't have missed this race fer all the apples in Appleoosa!" Meanwhile, back at the starting line bleachers, Starflower thanked Madam Bistro just as Saddlesore woke up. "Hay... where.... where am I?" the confused blue stallion asked. "Saddlesore! You're awake! Thank goodness!" nurse Starflower neighed happily. "How do you feel?" "I had the strangest dream... I dreamed I was flying through the sky on a silver cloud, out of control. Bet that sounds weird to you, doesn't it?" "Well.. not THAT strange," the tall light blue unicorn said, rolling her eyes. "Would you like something to eat?" "No thanks, not right now. For some odd reason, I feel.... airsick..." Misty accepted the apple smoothie from Snails and took a sip. "Thanks, Snails. I wish I could make you understand. I'm not a great magician. All the things you saw me do were just happy accidents. I could've hurt a lot of ponies with it. I was just lucky that things worked out the way they did. Do you understand me?"
  2. "Right-O! Just give me half a mo' to fetch me raffle ticket first," Mojo shouted while he stood in line, getting his ticket and then trotting towards the buffet table. As he walked by the still stunned Destiny Star, he smiled. "It's a fine thing you're doin', babe." "Shut up hippie," the tall reddish maned unicorn snorted back, using her unicorn levitation to replace her apron and big white chef's hat. She was caught offguard, but then began to think of her current situation. She hadn't been tossed out again, and her name was still on the talent show sheet, so she knew she'd still have a chance to perform for him. A smile came upon her face when she realized she still had a chance to get noticed by the famous talent scout. Her moment of bliss was broken up when Saddlesore walked up to her, ready to complain. "There's a mess to clean up over by the second buffet table. Get a move on, Destiny Caterer!" Destiny turned and snarled at the grumpy blue stallion but then resisted the urge to slap the grin off his face with her hoof. "Gotta play along, can't ruffle any more feathers," she thought to herself as she walked over to begin cleaning. Meanwhile, Jubilee was still talking to Big Time. "Thanks Mr. Big Time! My band and I will be ready!" the petite blonde Pegasus boasted as she flew back to where Mojo was sitting. The Paint stallion had just got his plate of food as he sat near Shanna, Bull Dozer, Hoss, Starflower and Spirit Flame. "Modge, I really need a big favor from you." As she explained her situation to Mojo, Starflower was still helping Spirit Flame get adjusted to her new surroundings. "You look confused, Spirit Flame. Do you have any questions for me? I'd be happy to answer them."
  3. "Right-O, doll," Mojo said as Shanna decided to drop back towards the back of the pack. "Well now, there's the griffin who'd been fightin' those ruddy hornets! Think I'll trot on up and say HI!" Before he could race up to her, Gilda started kicking up dirt and leaves in his face. As she apologized, the Paint stallion could swear he held the griffin laughing. "HAY! That was uncalled for!" Mojo protested as he shook his head to ward off the shower of leaves and dirt shattered all over him. "Looks like she's not into fair play, well that's her loss!" the brown and white pony neighed as he continued to trot deeper through the woods. Mojo glanced around to see there were a few patches of poison joke along the trail. Nothing to worry about, he was smart enough to keep his distance from those plants. Up ahead on the trail, he saw what appeared to be a group of long, multi-colored sticks in the middle of the road. But as he got closer to them, he saw them move. "Snakes? Not to worry, seen all kind of those rascals back home on the family farm." As the agile Paint pony leaped over them and sped up to get away from them, he then saw a sight that made him gasp and attempt to come to a stop, his hooves sliding on the leaf covered ground. "Blimey! Is that a big spider? Me eyes must be playin' tricks on me!" he shouted before sliding into a huge silken web the enlarged spider had just spun. The hippie brony now found himself stuck to it, struggling to get free as the big spider slowly moved towards him on the web. "What a sticky wicket this is," Mojo said as he tried to think of a way out of this mess. "I didn't join in this bloomin' race to end up some giant spider's dinner." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hoss's words made the frustrated Professor feel somewhat better. "Danka Hoss, I vill try to do better in dee future!" the green Pegasus neighed as he flew back towards the starting line bleachers where nurse Starflower was still tending to a still unconscious Saddlesore. Hearing Madam Bistro's offer, the light blue unicorn turned to her and smiled. "When he wakes up, he'll probably be hungry. If you have some food available, I'll pay you for whatever he eats." Misty sat down on the bleachers, her mind very disturbed by all the events she had accidentally caused. True, everything seemed to turn out alright, but still, the yellow unicorn couldn't help but worry about all the miscast magic she'd been producing. Racing to catch up to the now Pegasus Granny Smith, Jubilee and Louise LaMare passed by and waved at Mojo while he was still galloping and BEFORE he ended up tangled in the huge spider's web. As they found the elderly flying mare, she was still hovering backward. Before they could confront her, they all heard someone shouting "SNAKES!!!!!" ahead of them. "SNAKES? Whar's they at? I know how to handle them critters!" Granny Smith neighed as she flew ahead where there was a group of snakes together. "HAY YOU SCALY CRITTERS! GIT A LOAD OF MY FAMOUS GRANNY STARE!!" Amazingly enough, the sight of Granny's stare shattered the snakes in all directions. The two Pegasi watching couldn't believe their eyes. "How did she do that?" Jubilee asked in shock. "That's astounding!" added Louise, "Hope she can teach me that stare. Could use it to scare off all the snakes back home in Appleoosa."
  4. (ooc): Not sure where to go from here with this RP thread. Is it my understanding that if the creator/starter of a RP thread pulls out of it, then that RP is over/ended? (ooc): If not, then we who are left here need to regroup since the entire premise of this thread focused on Raindrop. Currently, all three remaining chars are separated from the others. Applejack is galloping back to Sweet Apple Acres, Granny Smith is taking a short cut through the woods while new arrival Holly Dash is setting up to sell her produce in the streets of Ponyville. River, Holly Dash, how do you two want to proceed?
  5. On the surface, it looked like Mojo's racing strategy seemed to be working to perfection. He kept his rythemic trotting pace (except when he was rushing past those pesky hornets) and was staying in the back of the pack. Was this a brilliant tatical move, or would it assure a last place finished for the Paint stallion? Mojo didn't panic, the 'pony of peace' maintained his calm and cool demeanor. He was making friends and enjoying the scenary at each segment of the race. Shanna was still racing near him and race latecomers Estrella, Cat Napper and One Wing were nearly caught up to him. His new friend Lyra had zoomed far out in front and that crazy griffin who tried to fight a swarm of hornets was running just behind the leader Holly Dash. Now Big MacIntosh had pulled way ahead of him, but he could still spot Granny Smith fluttering above him and still holding a conversation. The Paint stallion was too worried to enjoy the spectatular beauty of the trees and falling leaves. Poor Appletini! Sure she was trying to surprise her big brother, but what if the tiny pony fell off his back? Mojo had glanced up at the right moment to see Saddlesore's rescue. He was happy that the blue pony was now safe and sound. For now, he continued galloping at his set stride, hoping there were no more surprises ahead. "Hay Shanna, did ya see that? Saddlesore got rescued! I think your brother was with me friends helpin'm with it! Good show!" The Paint pony was also pleased to see that Swift Breeze, the Pegasus who had left the race to heroically save Saddlesore from crashing, was near the front of the pack too. Even if he doesn't win the race, that pony certainly deserves a Good Sportshorseship prize! Mojo was happy to listen to the 'music' of the crunching leaves beneath his hooves and with his new friendship with Shanna. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back at the starting gate bleechers, Louise and Jubilee descended towards the place where Starflower and Misty Magic stood. Both unicorn fillies were well aware of the situation, thanks to the large shimmering portal that they (and a growing crowd of spectators) were using to watch all the racing action. "BRING SADDLESORE OVER HERE!" Starflower brayed, having prepared a makeshift cot for the blue stallion to lay in while she examined him. The two Pegasi gently lowered the still unconscious Saddlesore into the cot as the light blue unicorn nurse mare began to tend to her new patient. "Julibee, Louise, you two need to follow Granny Smith!" "Granny Smith? You mean the gray maned mare with the new wings?" Louise asked. "I think it's AWESOME that she can fly now! Maybe when all this is over I can teach her some of my best flying moves!" Jubilee shouted happily. "No no, you don't understand. Misty's unstable magic created those wings for her. They could vanish at any moment and if they do while she's still airborne..." "Oh my goodness! That could be fatal!" "We're on it, C'mon Louise!" Jubilee neighed as she and her brown Pegasus mare friend flew off. Meanwhile, while still holding the blanket with the deactivated jet pack in it, Professor Krashkop smiled when he heard Hoss's words. "Danka! Und your parents are very nice ponies!" the hovering green Pegasus said before lowering his head in sadness. "All of dis is mein fault. I vas in such a rush to get dis jet pack finished dat I didn't do dee job right. I'm just a foolish old plug who should start acting his age." Misty looked startled at Snails who kept rambling on about her magic. All this 'hero worship' didn't set well with her. She'd been VERY lucky and she knew it. But still, this innocent looking unicorn foal wasn't going to listen to her explanations, she could sense that as well. She decided to play along with him, for now. "Sorry kid, I don't have any other magic tricks to show you at the moment, I would like a apple smoothie, if it isn't too much trouble." Above the racing trail, a still fluttering Granny Smith continued flying backwards so she could keep talking to Big Mac, Mobias and Shanna. "I've never felt better in my life, young filly! These here new wings are makin' me feel like a foal agin! Can't explain what the hay happened, but I'ma gonna enjoy this as long as I can! if this here's a dream, I don't wanna wake up!" The elderly Pegasus look another good look around. "I couldda swore that Applebloom ran off to join this here race, I might be wrong about that. And I have a feeling in my old bones that yur sister Applejack's nearby, but I don't see'r no wheres!"
  6. Hey, if there's a prize for LAST place I may have a shot at it! LOL j/k Serious, I'm having a blast! LOVING this race!
  7. Here's another one from Cross Time Cafe:
  8. (ooc): It's ok, Buxy, no problem. Looks like Marnax is gone too, so it looks like it'll be the three of us (me, Sunshine, Draft Blue) from here out unless other new customers walk into Pony Joe's. Misty took Big Time's card and then looked up at him, forcing a smile on her face. "Would you mind if we ate here, sir? I believe Pony Joe's has more than just donuts on his menu. I happen to be a big fan of his donuts, they are the finest in all of Equestria, but if you don't mind, I'd like to stay here. Pony Joe's an old friend of mine and I feel safer and more comfortable with him around. I hope you'll understand." Misty was now smiling more naturally, feeling better about the situation since she got all that off her chest. "Perhaps we could sit in a booth if you'd like a little more privacy as we discuss your offer."
  9. Big Time's question stumped Jubilee. She had not expected to be performing tonight, but with a confident look on her face, she boldly spoke: "I plan on singing and dancing onstage, if that''s alright. I brought my... backup band with me. Just give the word and we'll be set up in no time!" Jubilee wasn't technically lying since she came here with Mojo and Starflower. She knew Mojo could back her up on guitar and could sing backup vocals with Starflower. The blonde Pegasus mare was relieved to see a baby grand piano was already near the stage area. She felt confident she could talk her two friends into becoming her 'band,' even if it was just for the evening. "This is groovy, all of us sharing a meal together. I'm gonna hit that buffet too, but first I better grab me raffle ticket, hope I win somethin' cool!" Mojo neighed as he quickly got in line where the tickets were being handed out. Spotting her Paint pony friend in line prompted Jubilee to ask Big Time, "even though I'm performing tonight, am I still eligible for one of your raffle tickets?" Meanwhile, back where Starflower and Spirit Flame sat, the tall light blue unicorn listened to the younger filly correctly identify the disguised Destiny Star. "I do believe you're right, Spirit Flame," Starflower whispered back. "Thanks for letting know, I think now would be a good time to unveil her!" As Destiny Star finished putting out her cart of food, she noticed Saddlesore staring at her. She resisted the urge to give him the standard "take a picture, it'll last longer," retort in favor of something softer and nicer. "May I help you, sir?" "You're that crazy unicorn that got chased outta here earlier!" the grumpy blue stallion snorted. "You are mistaken sir," the white unicorn in the caterer's costume lied. "I KNOW it's YOU! Uncover your face so we can all see I'm right!" "Pardon me, sir, I have to do my job," Destiny muttered as she began to wheel her cart towards the kitchen. A mischievous grin came across Starflower's face as her horn began to glow. Using her unicorn magic, she quickly removed Destiny's chef's hat, crude veil and large white apron when she was walking directly in front of Big Time. "What the hay?" the tall reddish poofy maned unicorn squeaked as moans of shock and surprise came from the crowd. "I knew it! I knew it! It's crazy horse, back to make more trouble!"
  10. "Willow Wisp! That's it!" Granny Smith neighed as she walked towards her. "I knew it. Oh yeah, maybe I didn't. Say yur lookin' fer lemons? Sure we got some. I love apples, but every now and then, I bake lemon tarts and lemon pies fer a change. Lemons are good fer ya!" Now the elderly mare stood next to her. "So glad ya came to visit us! Could I offer you some coffee and pie? All we got at the moment is apple pie, but it is yummy!"
  11. (ooc): And now in the role of Starflower, her new adopted owner.... ME! Starflower thought for a moment, racking her brain to think of the kind of natural things that seemed peaceful and calming. "Well, what I was looking for were a few painting with bright, cheery colors and scenes. Perhaps some peaceful outdoor scenery or old windmills or cottages and such. Do you happen to have some art ready that you can show me? Perhaps you may have already painted the very pictures I'm looking for!" Now Starflower was anxious, smiling in anticipation of what Cat would show her.
  12. Mojo had remained submerged in the water, hoping the angry swarm of hornet he accidentally stirred up would soon leave. His eyes were closed, trying to think happy thoughts as the Paint stallion held his breath for a moment longer. When he opened his eyes, he was stunned to see a grayish coated stallion with multi-colored mane staring back at him. Before Mojo could figure out what was going on, he felt his body being lifted out of the water. Good thing too, he really needed to start breathing fresh air again. After some fast panting to replenish his internal oxygen supply, he slid off her rescuer's back and onto his four hooves. "Thanks for the rescue, chum!" Mojo neighed as he extended his hoof to shake. "Name's Mojo and I was tryin' to get away from a swarm of hornets..." The brown and white paused when he turned his head to see how Gilda was now trying to battle the stinging insects herself. "Yeah, THAT swarm of hornets over there! I'd like to stay and chat with ya but I think we both better start running before those buzzing needles with wings choose us as their new target!" With that, the soaking wet Mojo made a mad dash down the trail, attempting to shake himself dry as he ran. Then he looked all around him, hoping his rescuer and his friends Shanna and Lyra were safe and galloping with him. "I know this is a breech of me strategy, but in this case, I think it's rather justified," he thought to himself as he continued running and shaking off river water. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the sky above the race, Hoss's loud warning about the rebounding Saddlesore came just in time! Louise, Jubilee and the Professor barely managed to scatter as the jet pack wearing blue pony zoomed by. "I think Hoss has the right idea!" Jubilee shouted. "We're all Pegasus ponies! We can move enough clouds to block out the sun!" "Then the solar jet would stop running!" added Louise. "Wonderba!" Professor Krashkop neighed. "Brilliant idea! Glad I taught of it!" "YOU THOUGHT OF IT???" Julibee and Louise yelled in unison. "Vell alright, Hoss did, but now vee must act quickly!" the elderly green Pegasus said as he nodded his head. "You're a weather pony, Hoss, tell us what to do first!" Meanwhile, back at the starting line bleachers... "Madam Bistro! Good to see ya agin!" Granny Smith answered her. "I'm doin' well, got three of my grandkids in this here race! Hay ladies, can't ya git that thing to show'm to me?" "I'm afraid we can't," Starflower said sadly. "And I'm not about to use any more of my magic," Misty said, tears falling from her eyes. "I only made things worse for poor Saddlesore!" As she cried, Starflower embraced her, not noticing how Misty's horn began glowing again. "It's alright, sweetie," Granny Smith added as she placed a comforting hoof on the yellow unicorn's back. "I didn't even have a plan! I shouldn't have tried to wing it!" Misty sobbed, inadvertantly sending a surge of magical energy through the lime green mare's body. Granny Smith backed away, her body glowing. "What in tarnation!" the elderly Earth Pony shouted before becoming engulfed in blinding light. When it died down, Starflower and Misty Magic stared at her with eyes bulging and mouths hanging open in shock. "YOU?" "HAVE,, WINGS?" "Yur pullin' my leg, ain't ya?" Granny Smith asked in disbelief as she rose upward. She briefly screamed before realizing the reason she was now airborne. A set of beautiful lime green feathered wings which were flapping and attached to her own body. "MISTY? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE???" "But I didn't, I mean, I don't think I did, but not on purpose, I...I...." "YYYYEEEEEEE HHHHAAAAAWWWW!" Granny hollered. "Now I can go see how my grandkids are doin' up close! Thanks gals! I got me a race to watch!" The excited gray maned PEGASUS soon soared into the air towards Sweet Apple Acres. "You turned Granny Smith into a Pegasus! What were you thinking?" Starflower scoulded. "But I didn't even know I was doing it! The spell probably won't be permanent. Most wing spell last at most three days, some even shorter than that. Please don't be angry with me, I feel bad enough already." Starflower hugged the weeping Misty again as Granny Smith flew off in search of Applejack, Big MacIntosh and Applebloom,
  13. "Well, you seem to have the right attitude about the race Mojo. I'm pacing myself too. I'm not aiming to win, though I'd really like to. I'm here to burn calories and to better myself. I'll get some exercise, get fit, and then I can eat as much chocolate fudge cake as I want!" Lyra spoke. "Chocolate fudge cake? Groovy babe!" Mojo neighed as the two continued trotting together. "Me mum has a hip new recipe for that, wish I could bake as well as her. Dad can bake too, but his speciality is breads. Ah! He makes the most scruptious whole grain bread you'd ever taste! It's absolutely smashing!" Soon, the two ponies reached the bridge and the crowd of contestants gathered in front of it. "Oh, shoot! We'll be here forever!" he heard Lyra neigh. "Chill out, love. This isn't so bad. I can remember back home on the farm when..." the Paint stallion stopped in midsentence when he saw that Lyra was no longer with him. "Hey, Mojo! Check this out!" he heard her say, causing him to direct his eyes at the guard rail that the blue unicorn mare was balancing on. "Good show, Lyra!" Mojo shouted, applause-stomping his hooves on the ground. "I used to do this all the time when I was just a foal. I called it "the dragon's trot", after the way the baby dragons would walk around Canterlot on two legs." "I'll have to give that a go meself when you're across, doll! Looks ruddy simple to me. I used to walk over fallen trees on the farm when I was a wee nipper" Mojo watched as Lyra was near the other side, hearing her call out moments before she had been accidentially knocked into the river below. "Hang on, Lyra, I'm comin'!" Mojo shouted as the Paint Earth pony leapt upon the guardrail and walked quickly along it's length until he saw the blue unicorn emerged from the water. "Well babe, you may be soakin' wet, but at least you're on the other side!" the stallion neighed with a slight chuckle. "Be right there, love!" As Mojo neared the end of the guard rail, balancing carefully with each new step, he heard a familiar sound behind him. "Uh oh," he muttered just as a familiar streak of blue and gray collided with him, sending Saddlesore with his runaway jet pack flying upward. The force of the collision sent Mojo flying through the air until he landed in large green bush that cushioned his landing quite well. "Well now, that wasn't so bad," the Paint stallion said until he heard loud buzzing sounds all around him. The usually calm and collected Mojo instantly panicked. "HORNETS!" Mojo yelled at the top of his lungs before galloping back towards the river, past the frontrunning Gilda (going in the opposite direction) and diving into it to avoid the large swarm of stinging insects that are following him. Now he was genuinely worried. Would the swarm go after his new friend Lyra? Would they attack the other competitors on the bridge? He couldn't tell what was going on while he held his breath underwater and allowed the running river to flow over him. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Up above the race course, the Pegasi Louise LaMare, Jubilee and Professor Krashkop began talking to Hoss, a fellow Pegasus that had joined them in midair. "Hey guys, where's Saddlesore go?" Julibee asked just as the screaming blue pony with the jet pack strapped to him shot straight at them, scattering the group of flying Pegasi. "Dere he is!" the Professor announced as he pointed behind him. "Quick! We have to come up with a way to bring him down to earth safely!" shouted a worried Louise. Watching all of this action through the magic portal back at the starting line bleechers was Misty Magic, Starflower and Madam Bistro who had just joined them. "OH NO!" Starflower shouted. "Poor Saddlesore knocked Mojo into a bush and nearly flew into our Pegasi friends!" "THAT DOES IT!" a determined Misty Magic neighed, stomping her hooves into the ground as her unicorn horn began to glow. "Wait Misty! Don't do it! Don't use your magic again!" "I'm going to create a giant net to catch him in! I can do this!" the petite yellow unicorn yelled out as she closed her eyes to concentrate. Starflower gazed into the portal as it showed a large, brown cloth magically appear near the tops between two sturdy looking pine trees. "OH NO MISTY! THAT'S NOT A NET! IT'S A..." the taller light blue unicorn neighed as Saddlesore flew into it, causing the stretching brown cloth to move forward slightly before ... BBBBOOOOIIIIIIINNNNNGGGGGGG!!!! "..TRAMPOLENE!" "Huh?" Misty asked as she watched in horror as the jet pack wearing blue pony shot like a rocket through the air in the opposite direction. "Hay gals, what's this here contraption?" asked a lime green earth pony with gray mane and tail, both tied in buns. "Granny Smith! What are you doing here?" Starflower asked. "Did the race start yet? I ran here jist as fast as I could! I got three of my three grandkids running in it." "The race already began, ma'am," Misty said apologetically. "But this magic portal is allowing all of us to see the action and.." "Show me Applejack, Big Mac and little Applebloom!" the elderly mare shouted at it. "It doesn't work that way, Granny Smith." "Actually, none of us know HOW it works to be honest about it," Misty sadly admitted.
  14. (ooc): Oops, I neglected to respond to this dialogue action AWAY FROM THE MAIN RACE in the sky and in the spectator's section. "Vee know, young pony," Professor Krashkop neighed. "It is Saddlesore testing mein newest invention, und vee cannot stop him!" "Jubilee here tried and nearly fell to her doom," added Louise. "That jet pack is solar powered and it has no off switch, because SOMEPONY forgot to install one!" Julibee neighed. "Details, details. Dee fine print gets me all dee time," muttered the green Pegasus stallion. "We have to find a way to save Saddlesore before he hurts himself!" neighed Louise. --------------------------------- Suddenly, Starflower and Misty Magic stopped staring at the shimmering portal and looked back at Madam Bistro. "Of course you may watch with us," Starflower said with a smile. "As long as this thing holds up," added Misty, "I accidentally created it with my magic, so I have no idea how much longer it will last." "It's rather odd that Applejack stopped racing and is now selling apple juice to participants. After all, LAST year she galloped all out and had a fight with Rainbow Dash before crossing the finish line in a tie for last place." "I think this shows that Applejack is a good sport! Helping her competitors like this." "Well, she's helping the Apple Family too by earning money for them, not that there's anything wrong with that." "Nothing wrong with that at all."
  15. I had a dream last night, and I think I may have the answer to who and what Discord is.
  16. Jubilee squealed for joy when she heard what Big Time had to say. "Thank you, sir, you'll love my act! And don't worry about your.. rear. Starflower is a friend of mine, the very best nurse in all Equestria!" Jubilee's conversation served as a perfect distraction for Starflower, keeping the blue stallion busy as she levitated a nearby divider and moved it between them and the rest of the party so no one else could watch her work. Quickly assessing the situation, the tall light blue mare treated Big Time wound (which turned out to be less serious than she had first imagined), placing blue bandages on it so it'd be less noticable. In less than a minute, she was done with THAT end and turned to address Big Time face to face. "All done! The bandages should prevent any chance of infection. Here are a few pills to help ease the pain. If you have any other complications, contact me." the unicorn said with a smile, She then rolled back the divider and returned to Spirit Flame. "Sorry I was gone for so long. I hope you're enjoying the party so far. Do you have any questions? Are you getting enough to eat?' When Shanna brought Bull Dozer over to their table, at first, Mojo was disturbed. But then, the Paint pony took the time to observe him with the Pegasus mare. He seemed rather pleasant, kind and even tempered. It was a that moment, Mojo realized he and his friends had jumped to the wrong conclusion about him, In his usual peaceful, laid back manner, Mojo approached him and offered his front hoof to shake. "It appear me and me chums have sadly misjudged you, sir. That's not cool. On behalf of all of them, I sincerely apologize." Mojo hoped to defuse the potential tension quickly. Parties were meant to relax and unwind, but argue and fuss like what happened earlier in the night with Destiny Star. Speaking of her, the furious reddish poofy maned unicorn had left the party, but not the immediate area. Outside of the building, she stood on her hind legs to reach a window to peek inside. She growled loudly when she spotted Jubilee talking to Big Time and Saddlesore returning to the buffet table for more food. "NO! That should be ME sweet talking that agent pony! She definitely on MY list! So is that grumpy blue stallion. Wait a minute, LIST! That's it! That's how I'll get to perform in Big Time's talent show!" Trotting quickly around the other side of the building, Destiny soon entered through the delivery entrance. Grabbing a white apron and chef's hat from the wall, Destiny hoped to disguise herself as one of the caterer's crew. She even placed a crude bandana over her face to hide her appearance. Peering out a door, she saw Big Time still busy talking to Julibee. Then she spotted a piece of paper on a nearby table. "Hay! That's the sign up list for the talent show!" she said to herself. "I'll secretly sign up and then he'll have ot let me perform!" Using her levitation powers, Destiny moved a quill over and quickly squibbled her name on it just as she felt a slight yank on her tail. "Hay! Get these steamed veggies out to the buffet table pronto! I don't pay you to join into the party! Get moving or you're fired!" Looking behind her, she spotted a grunting Palomino mare who wore a white apron and an even bigger white hat. "That must be the Head Caterer!" Destiny thought to herself, "I better just play along, can't afford to get myself thrown out again." Seconds later, the disguised unicorn mare rolled out a cart loaded down with hot steamed vegetables and rolled it towards the buffet table. Her anger rekindled when she spotted Saddlesore helping himself to the buffet just as she arrived. "Bout time you brought out more steamed veggies, babe!" Saddlesore grumbled. "Hurry up and set them out! Chop Chop!" To make his point, the blue stallion gave the unicorn a sharp pat on her rear. As luck would have it, it was the exact same area that had been jabbed moments before. Destiny fought the instinct to yell out though the instant pain was nearly unbearable. First, she shot an angry glare at him, but soon calmed herself down. "Can't make a scene now, can't make a scene now," Destiny repeated to herself as she began setting out the food from her cart. Starflower glanced over at her from her nearby table. "That unicorn over there looks very familiar...."
  17. Mojo

    Derp Mail

That's great, Boss! Gotta love a Derpy Mailbox!
  18. (ooc): And what would Sweet Apple Acres be without..... It was another glorious morning at Sweet Apple Acres. Granny Smith was in the house clearing the breakfast table and preparing to wash the morning dishes when her elderly ears heard a loud female voice calling outside. "Land sakes! We got company!" the gray maned mare shouted as she ambled her way towards the front door. By the time she got out to the front porch, she saw WillowWisp talking to Big MacIntosh. "HOWDY YOUNGIN'!" Granny Smith shouted gleefully. "Welcome to Sweet Apple Acres!" The lime green lime took a moment to refocus her eyes at the new arrival. "Say! I've seen you somewhere before! Your name is... er... well it's... oh, dang my old memory, but I know I knows y'all from somewheres!"
  19. Here in West Virginia, the reminants of the Tropical Storm that hit Louisianna is making things cold and rainy now. RAINY we need since we've been in a summer dry spell, but COLD, we DON'T need! Temps went from the 80's down to the 50's. They're calling for more rain the rest of the week. Hope we don't get flooding.
  20. Mojo maintained his steady pace as he was passing by Sweet Apple Acres. Apple trees loaded with fruit as far as the eye could see! The young Paint stallion had never seen so many apple trees together in his entire life! His thoughts briefly drifted as the aroma of those fresh apples reached his nose. Was he just imagining that exquisite smell? A smile came across the trotting pony's face as he imagined taking that first, juicy, sweet delicious bite of a shiny red apple! He could pracitically taste it in his mouth! His brief 'daydream' was interrupted as a blurr of brown fur and white feathers zipped by him. "A griffin?" he asked, stunned at the sheer speed of the creature. "Well, no pony said a griffin couldn't run this race!" Mojo looked up ahead as a shower of falling brown leaves showered down behind the race leaders as he gathered his thoughts. "Hay now! I know some of those ponies! There's Pinkie Pie! She's REALLY a far out chick! And there's Applejack! Bet she has a home course advantage on this leg of the race! Is that her brother Big MacIntosh up there? Bet that'll be a family rivalry! I think I know that Pegasus mare up ahead, Shanna I think her name is. She has a twin brother as I recall. Hope she's not tempted to use her wings for extra speed, that's wouldn't be cool. Is that a dog I see? Groovy! Just have to stick to me strategy, keep a steady gait, let the speed merchants in the field wear themselves out and then make me move to the front of the pack!" Mojo continued the race, turning his head from side to side to enjoy the fall foilage as he moved down the race path. There was some racers behind him, no doubt they too were attempting to employ the same tatic he was using. He didn't let that bother him, nor was he concerned about those who had already passed him by. It was the leaves that were the mane task. Making them fall to prepare for the onset of winter. As he trotted on, his ears perked up to a very loud, piercing noise behind him. Instinctively, the Paint Pony took a sharp right turn towards the fence line seconds before a screaming blue stallion strapped to a gray jet pack buzzed by him before soaring skyward. "WHOA! That was Saddlesore, poor lad. Note to self, NEVER volunteer to be the guinea pony in ANY of Professor Krashkop's experiments! Sure hope some pony figures out a way to stop him before he hurts himself. Spending weeks in the horse-pital mending broken bones wouldn't be cool." The trotting Mojo steered himself back towards the center of the path and continued on until Sweet Apple Acres was well behind him. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Up above Sweet Apple Acres, Jubilee, Louise LaMare and Professor Clyde Krashkop hovered as the three Pegasi observed the race. "Oh no!" Louise neighed. "Mojo is falling behind! He's going to lose the race if he doesn't hurry up!" "No he isn't, silly!" Jubilee shouted defensively. "It's part of his gameplan! He's pacing himself for the long run!" "Ja! Dat is sheer genius!" the green Pegasus Professor added. "Brilliant tinking! Glad I suggested it to him!" "YOU told him to use that crazy jet pack of yours!" "Yeah!" "NEIN! Mein invention vas not a crazy idea!" the Professor neighed as the three watched Saddlesore buzz by Mojo before flying upward. "See dat? Mein jet pack vorks perfectly!" "Oh yeah, PERFECTLY, except for the fact that it's OUT OF CONTROL!" "Time for me to do something about this!" Jubilee brayed confidently as the petite Pegasus filly flew upward towards the path of the jet pack wearing blue stallion. "NEIN! YOU CANNOT FLY FAST ENOUGH TO CATCH HIM!" "FOR ONCE, THE PROFESSOR'S RIGHT JUBILEE! COME BACK HERE!" Meanwhile, back at the starting line, Misty Magic and Starflower continued watching Mojo's progress through the magical portal the petite yellow furred unicorn mare had accidentially formed with her unpredictable magic. "Mojo's in the middle of the pack," Misty said sadly. "You sure I shouldn't give him a magical power boost?" "Absolutely NOT!" the older unicorn neighed. "You know Mojo said he wanted to run this race HIS way, with no cheating." "I know, I know, but still..." Misty was interrupted by the sight of Saddlesore zipping by the trotting Paint stallion. "Look at that, Starflower! Poor Saddlesore. I have to do SOMETHING to save him!" "Don't do it, Misty. Your magic could make things worse! Remember the time you tried to use your magic to put a new coat of paint on Mojo's peddler's wagon?" "HAY! I happen to think those peppermint stripes added charm to his wagon! What wrong with the candy cane look?" "But he asked for SOLID BROWN as the color!" "Oh yeah," Misty muttered as she lowered her head in shame.
  21. Destiny Star was mortified. She had made a complete fool of herself tonight. She wanted to be the center of attention tonight, but not like this! What if the press found out about this? The reddish maned unicorn shuttered at the thought of the possible headlines in the Entertainment section of the newspaper: "Destiny's Star is Tarnished at Big Time's Party." As she opened her mouth to try to defend herself, she noticed all the angry looks from the gathered crowd of ponies. Embarrassed beyond belief, the unicorn bowed her head low, began to sob as she slowly walked towards the exit. "That wasn't cool, miss," Mojo neighed. "Way to score points with Big Time!" Jubilee laughed. "You really got your POINT across to him!" As Destiny continued her 'walk of shame,' Saddlesore emerged from under a table and promptly stuck out his tongue at her. "Serves you right, you crazy hornheaded clown!" the blue stallion laughed, turning to shake his rump at her before walking back towards the buffet table. At that same table, Starflower and Spirit Flame sat together and began to dine. When she saw Big Time getting attacked from the rear, the nurse unicorn stood up to take action. "Please excuse me, Spirit Flame. I'll be right back after I tend to our host's injuries," Starflower said politely as the light blue unicorn rushed up to Big Time, levitating her black bag with her. "Mr. Big Time, I'm Nurse Starflower and I want to help you with your injury. If your wound is serious, I'll need to wrap a sterile bandage around it to prevent infection." Starflower really felt awkward. Having been a nurse for a long time, she was used to viewing other pony's rumps, but how will the host of the party react to a mare he's never met before asking to give his rear medical attention? Jubilee looked down at her hooves. They held Big Time's sunglasses that Hoss had just given her. "Thanks, Hoss, I owe you big for this," the petite blonde Pegasus said as she flew up to the blue stallion. "Mr. Big Time, sir, here are your sunglasses. By the way, if you're still accepting entrants to your talent show, may I sign up? I'm Jubilee Flyer, you may not have heard of me but I hope to be a big star someday, and since I have no horn, I'd never jab you in the rear like Destiny did!" Jubilee hoped her humor would make Big Time feel better. Seeing this, Mojo turned towards Hoss. "Looks like Wings is getting to talk to him. Hoss, thanks for helping me chum! Where's your sister? Love to meet her!"
  22. (ooc): Just for information, AppleNitrox, "Wings" is Mojo's nickname for Jubilee. He is the only one who calls her Wings. She calls him 'Modge' from time to time, but that's also a nickname. I am not asking you to change your last post, just keep that in mind for future reference. (extra ooc): According to Vinyl Scratch's character log, she has 'exited' this RP. I will edit this entry and from now on, remember that Vinyl Scratch has left the scene. "Sure, I'd love to have a jam session with you, Beauty Brass!" Jubilee neighed with a grin as she waved at the departing DJ pony. "Bye, Vinyl Scratch! I'll be there for rehearsal tomorrow and thanks again for giving me this big break!" "Half a mo' folks!" Mojo shouted as he looked at the sky down the street. "Dig all those groovy colors up there!" "It's far too early for that to be from fireworks," Starflower said. "Could it be related to that wonderful music that filly in the town square was playing?" "I say we find out! Ya comin', Wings?" "Coming! Hay Beauty Brass, Tobias, wanna see what's going on?" Jubilee asked, smiling widely as she waited for their replies. After politely excusing themselves from the group, Mojo and Starflower gallop back to the town square. By now, the biggest part of the crowd was starting to disperse but a petite yellow furred unicorn mare stood with her eyes still closed, complete enthralled with Fox's music. Fearing that the mare was somehow asleep on her hooves, the two ponies rushed up to her. "Pardon us, miss, are you alright?" "Hay, wake up young mare!" The words they spoke snapped Misty Magic out of her musical 'trance'. When her eyes opened wide, the spectatular 'lights show' in the sky above instantly vanish. "Huh? What ... what's going on?" "We were about to ask you the same question. Are you responsible for that lights show we saw earlier?" "Lights show? I don't understand, ma'am," Misty timidly answered the taller unicorn. "I was just standing here enjoying some of the most lovely music I've ever heard in my life. Guess I lost track of time." It was then that Mojo noticed Fox putting her guitar away and getting ready to leave. The Paint stallion had to meet her! Rushing up to her, he smiled politely. "Those were some groovy tunes you were playin', miss. You play like a pro! My name's Mojo and I have to know where you learn to strum those cool songs!"
  23. "Thank you, Mr. Big Time," Starflower said with a smile as she turned to Spirit Flame. "Now that we have our tickets, come with me and we'll help ourselves to the wonderful buffet! You can get whatever you'd like to eat and as much of it as you like. I'll show you." Starflower's nurturing personality was in 'full gear' as she watched over her new young friend. Meanwhile, Mojo and Jubilee continued their conversation with Hoss. "I've been to a few big cities before, but this is my first time here," the petite Pegasus mare said. "I came to this party hoping I would have a chance to talk to Big Time. I hear he's one of the most famous talent scouts in all of Equestria!" "My first time here too," added Mojo. "Came here to make some sales but couldn't pass up this great party! Groovy tunes and excellent grub! What pony wouldn't want to be here?" At that moment, the one pony who would like to be somewhere else is Saddlesore. Realizing that a very furious Destiny Star was searching for him in the crowd, the blue stallion continued to crawl under tables as he hoped to find the exit and slip away. Destiny's rage caused the tall reddish maned unicorn to growl loud enough for ponies nearby to take notice of her. "Where is he? Where is that no good plug that dared to attack my flank?" she roared, turning her head to scan the crowd for any signs of the blue pony who had jabbed her butt. Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of a blue stallion's rear near the front of the room. "AH HA! There he is! Two can play at this game!" Galloping at full stride, Destiny growled as she lowered her head, aiming her unicorn horn for the blue rear ahead of her. Startled ponies back away from the path of the angry mare who soon scored a direct 'hit' on the blue pony's behind. "TAKE THAT, YOU HOOLIGAN!" she shouted with a satisfied look on her face, only to spot Saddlesore out of the corner of her eye still moving beneath a nearby table. "Wait! If he's there, then who did I.... HOLY CELESTIA!" The horrified look on Destiny Star's face said it all. She had just harpooned Big Time, the very pony she had come to this party to impress. Now she just stood there, nervously stuttering jibberish, at a complete loss for words.
