I wish I had the link but I did see someone asking Lauren about the Earth ponies since Unicorns had magic and Pegasus had power over the weather. She did state that Earth ponies are especially attuned to the land and nature and that is why they focus on farming, growing, animal care-taking, and so forth. Pinky though, her ability may be entirely unique. I think that's where we're going with this: it's unique, but related to her being an Earth pony.

Which brings up the question, will twin ponies have the same Cutie Mark? I'd assume no, but...

I'd say confirmed, two ponies have the hour glass mark.

I'm not entirely sold that evidence of them reversing in age is evidence that theyve aged- for all anyone knows their appearance could be a representation of how much power they currently hold. If Luna was stripped of some power, or partially sealed, then that would explain her regression in appearance of age. Perhaps I'm assuming too much, but when I think of Celestia and Luna, I have the impression that they are nearly the same age- just Luna was born second. Like twins, so to speak. If they had dual responsibility to raise the sun and moon, wouldn't they both have to be relatively the same age to start trading cycles? I suppose its possible if Luna and Celestia inherited their abilities. Perhaps they stop aging after they reach a certain point. Or, technically, they could just be using different healing spells on themselves to regenerate parts of their body at a time, and thus remain immortal, yet normal. I think that Celestia and Luna are very close in age, however, I do not believe they are twins, nor were they born in the same year. I do think they were born close together, within the span of a few years, but not at the same time.

I've seen that. It's neat that all the background ponies get attention and names too. It's how Derpy came to be!

Perhaps once an Alipony gives birth, it starts to age again, and lives out its life. The child will then be the successor, by default.

Except I feel like any character I make is just too lame Eh, my character is a black Unicorn (or Pegasus) with a short silver mane and tail and no cutie mark. Pretty basic, and I asked for a request anyway.

Thank doesn't really explain the twitchy tail all the way though. I mean, when all that random stuff falls on Twilight all at once, it isn't a plant or animal or even alive. But, I do see where you're going with this.

It'd be cool if you could draw my character ShadowMist (viewtopic.php?f=31&t=272), who I don't have a ref for. I'll write something for you, a piece of fanfiction using ponies or something entirely different. Story, poetry, whatever.

There are some stories that just don't work. (Not speaking specifically about your story, haven't read it yet.) If you're not used to writing, it can be rough starting out. It's something that needs to be practiced, and having people read what you've written can help point out what you can work on. Read a lot, and write a lot, and you'll get better with time. It's an art form, and generally those take practice.
