  1. Nail, head. If your neighbor decides to plant an apple tree in the middle of your backyard, guess who's getting the apples in the fall. Not your neighbor. The buffalo were being fairly generous in allowing the ponies' use of the land to continue, I think.
  2. Dellios listened with interest to the exchange, he was sure the unicorn would take some offense at the griffin attitude toward his species, and was confused, and a little relieved that he didn't. Dellios found himself more and more intrigued by ponies, there was no boasting coming from Ashton, no list of the prestigious families that wore his jewels and crafts. Any poor soul that asked Del's father about the family business would spend the next half hour listening to the list of every high end client the shop had serviced over the years. At the suggestion of being a scholar, though, Dellios burst out laughing before clamping a talon down over his beak. "No, I'm definitely not a scholar," he said, chortling a bit. "I'm not anything, really. I come from a family of very proud and closed minded metalsmiths, and I don't want anything to do with their lifestyle. The fact that I'm travelling with you, Ashton, would make my father lay an egg. He can't stand even the thought that we share Equestria with anything but Griffins. I just want to see something beyond the Canyon."

    Aaaaand done.
  4. I can imagine these long, eloquent internal dialogues with himself, where he is absolutely mortified that he subjects her to such babying in front of the rest of the orchard when he has been a grown man-tree since before she was even born. All he can do is occasionally drop a leaf or an apple to express his frustration, and Applejack takes it as a gift of gratitude...
  5. "I've never been further east than the edges of the desert, myself," Dellios said, settling his wings and taking a seat in the corner of the basket, leaning against the side. "Lola is right, though, there isn't a physical structure in Equestria that would serve as a more thorough dividing line than the landscape itself." He looked out over the passing landscape, enjoying the novelty of flying at rest, feeling the wind comb his feathers without any effort on his part. He turned back to the unicorn, studying him for a moment, he had thousands of questions flying through his mind, and had no idea where to begin with them. He chose to start with the first question a griffin would ask in a formal introduction. "What is your business, Ashton? How do you serve your family?"

They definitely were, and by those sorts of standards I was already a weird kid. As evidenced by continuing to be all about ponies now that my own kids are old enough to be all about them.
  7. The show is very careful about stereotyping (be it positive or negative), and I believe I read somewhere that they consulted with Native American representatives before putting this episode to print to be sure there were no qualms with their portrayal. All that said, though, I love that they are not afraid to let Rarity reduce so many things to simple fashion choices (the buffalo's "accessories", Zecora's stripes, etc). It cracks me up every time.

    I mentioned liking her once and was mercilessly mocked. So I hid my ~love~ to save face. Children are so cruel ;_;

I'd love to! Draggle was always my secret favorite character. I was just about to open up a request thread and post a few adoptables, so I'll make this my first "request"! I just need to do a few chores before I spend any more time on my ass in front of photoshop.
  10. Bloomburg, you playuh. Pollenize *****es, aquire apples. Also, lol @ accounting.
  11. LOOK HOW ADORABLE THEY ARE. What a great drawing!
  12. Del climbed into the balloon's basket behind Lola and Ashton, paying absolutely no attention to anything but the sheer size of it. He'd only ever traveled by wing in the past, and had no idea what they were in for with this trip. As the balloon lifted off, he moved to the side, setting his claws on the edge and peering over the side at the ground, his tail swishing back and forth behind him in reflection of his alert curiosity. As they climbed higher in the sky he remembered Monty telling him something about piloting the balloon through dead air, and his pride wouldn't allow him to give that task to Lola. The task would require some heavy work, he was sure, and that wasn't something he had any intentions of asking a lady, and one of a higher caste at that, to perform. He paid close attention to Monty as they left the city to start their journey, occasionally calling out questions about wind direction and altitude.
  13. "The Everfree Forest...." Dellios said to himself, trailing off. He'd heard stories about it, and the massive, wild beasts that roam there. Creatures made from a cruel mishmash of other creatures, massive bears made of the night sky, fierce serpents that frightened even the hardened griffin travelers he'd heard the stories from. He stood slightly behind Lola, completely oblivious to Monty and Ashton, lost in his daydreams. At the sound of Lola's introduction, he snapped back to himself and stepped forward. "And I'm Dellios," he said, straightening his posture and puffing out his chest a bit. He was surprised to find he was the tallest creature present, though he only had an inch or so on Monty. He wasn't expecting an adult male pony to be the same size as a female griffin. He suddenly wondered if they'd been tricked into an extended babysitting venture, and if he'd only assumed the unicorn in front of them was an adult.
  14. MOAR ART. By the amazing DoodleDev
  15. Sealight's inn is two floors and a little-used basement. The first floor is made up of the lobby, a lounge area, a dining room that opens up onto a small deck overlooking the grounds, a kitchen, and her own private quarters (a sitting room and bedroom). The upstairs has eight guest rooms, each with enough room for two guests. Four of these rooms are two single beds, four have one double/queen sized bed. A more thorough description of the decor can be found here. When guests begin to arrive, I'll edit this post to include a floorplan and a list of who is staying in each room.
  16. I can't even tell you how hilarious the image of Hasbro as a tyrannical toy baron is to me. And this is what he'd look like.
  17. "Quite well, thank you," Dellios smiled, stretching a bit, still trying to shake himself awake. The accommodations had been nothing short of luxurious, especially in comparison to his small corner of his parent's cave in Talonopolis. He couldn't help but wonder if the estate's staff had been talking about him, however, the atmosphere had been a little tense when they showed him to his room. "I did find us transportation, but I had to make a bit of a deal. The balloon we'd passed on our way into the city was not for sale or rent, but needs to be delivered to Canterlot. The owner agreed to allow us to deliver it, so long as our stops along the way don't take too long. We've also picked up another traveler, it seems. A unicorn who wants to head east. There should still be plenty of room for the three of us and our cargo, though, the basket is designed for six." Dellios paused, trying to gauge Lola's reaction before continuing. The arrangement had seemed a little odd to him, but he certainly didn't mind, and hoped that Lola would be pleased with what he'd set up. "We're to meet Monty, the balloon's owner, out on the edge of town this morning. I'm hoping the unicorn will be there as well."
  18. There isn't enough money in the world to cover what I would pay to see Kyle in a pink and purple flowery car covered in ponies.
  19. Well yes, sideswept is clearly the superior hairstyle feature. I wish I had more useful input, because I love the concept.
  20. Brandon Flowers in poni form? Yes please.
  21. Oh sad. HD was best D. I'll miss that channel. If any others are pulled, though, I think that'd be a pretty solid indication of a DVD.
  22. dellios "I'll see if I can strike up some sort of deal with whoever owns that balloon," Del accepted the paper, tucking it into the front pocket of his bag. "And I'll meet you at the estate." Dellios smiled to himself, turning from Lola and headed towards the balloon, and the griffin standing by it. He cast one glance over his shoulder at the other griffin, pleased with how this adventure was shaping up. After a brief conversation with the griffin struck up a fairly straightforward deal in regards to the balloon, and hoped that his new companion would be pleased. Del made arrangements to meet back the following morning, and hoped he'd remember all the details to properly relate them to Lola later on. With transportation squared away, Del decided to take some time to explore Rockwington. ((ooc - I may be too braindead from work to do much posting until the weekend, so feel free to take it away if you like, and I'll catch up on Saturday))
