Two heroes submitted for approval this time around, or at least one hero and one maybe-hero, and after that I intend to write up a couple villains and start a thread or two, in no particular order.

    Name: Bulwark

Alias: Rover, diamond dog from a formerly nomadic pack.

Powers: A mystical shield and spear, which are a paired set, lie at the centre of Bulwark's capacity as a hero.  Neither have needed any maintenance since they attached themselves to Bulwark, both remaining in pristine conditions through inexplicable means, at least to Bulwark himself.  As well as being high quality and surprisingly durable pieces of equipment, they also imbue the wielder with the ability to channel lighting in a small variety of ways, the most common being as a straightforward ranged attack.

The weapons have a unique relationship to Bulwark himself however, having bonded to him.  He instinctively always knows where they are, and although the effect is subtle when he wields them they seem to weigh less yet hit harder than their size and material would suggest.  Conversely, should anyone take the artifacts without Bulwark's permission, they will find them inexplicably heavier yet less effective, and will suffer consistent, minor misfortune until they leave the artifacts alone.

Being bound to the artifacts has given Bulwark's strength and speed a supernatural enhancement, though not to any extreme degree, and he can with a conscious effort conjure a pair of spectral wings which he can use to fly.

Backstory:  Bulwark, originally known by the name Rover, grew up in formerly nomadic pack of diamond dogs who were immigrating to Manehatten in search of a safer conditions and better prospects.  On the way there the pack got caught in a massive and unnatural storm and Rover, previously known for being curious and wandering off, ended up separated from his pack.  Caught alone in what was perhaps the most dangerous thing they had ever encountered, Rover's pack did not expect to find a survivor.  And yet when the storm cleared, he was found huddled underneath a mysterious shield, unconscious but alive, and with a spear of similar design laying nearby.  Believing them to have some connection to Rover's safety, the pack decided to take the artifacts with them, and continued on to Manehattan.

It soon became apparent to the pack that Rover had changed.  His thoughts were more reflective, and he was articulate in was he hadn't been before.  His priorities seemed to have shifted, while he still saw the world with a degree of wonder he was less interested in exploring its nooks and crannies, instead being more concerned with protecting the vulnerable.  His new attitude and manners, while strange to those who previously knew him, endeared him to many of his pack and even several of the ponies they encountered during the journey.

Reaching the city did not prove to be the end of the pack's troubles.  Not a few days after they had sorted out living arrangements when the block they had settled into was attacked by a supervillain.  The crisis proved short lived however.  Rover, taking the name Bulwark and wielding the shield and spear as though they had been his all his life, he fought off the villain's minions, and ultimately turning away the villain with a few choice words backed by his sudden capacity for combat.  Since then, he's established himself as the protector of that small section of the city.

    Notable allies: None yet

Notable adversaries: Dust Devil: Acolyte of Wrath

General notability: As a new hero, Bulwark is not very well known to either the general population or the empowered population, at best known for defeating a few minor villains.  He is very well known by anyone who lives on one of the blocks under his protection however, his pack foremost among them, and he often receives help from then in the form of supplies, medical aid or shelter as thanks for his continued protection of the city.  Bulwark also makes a point to talk with and assist the people of his district when not actively engaged in heroics.  Several even collaborated to build and maintain the suit of armour Bulwark wears into combat.

As someone who is soft spoken, and who takes any reasonable opportunity to talk an opponent down, Bulwark often makes a positive first impression, at least with those who prefer peace.  He particularly tries to be a comforting presence to civilians caught in the middle of things.  However, some who know or look into his history may find his previous, abrupt personality change and the mysterious artifacts from which he derives his power off-putting and suspicious.

    Name: BROODMARE

    Alias: N/A

Powers:  BROODMARE a is combat robot, made in pony shape to take advantage of golem magic, and as such has many advantages.  Her metal body is more resistant to damage than a typical, organic pony form, and she does not need to breath, eat or sleep although she does need low-activity period of recovery each day and power consumption is something she must keep aware of.  She lacks any form of natural healing, although she is very capable with self-repair and even self-modification.

BROODMARE's primary ability is her ability to control hovering drones, either individually or in swarms.  A few were built along with her, and are carried internally, but she has since created more herself and stored them in various places in or near her lair.  The drones can serve a variety of functions, the most common being creating energy barriers, firing beams of various kinds, or repairing and dismantling machinery.  The latter is her primary means of repairing herself or her drones and building new drones.  Each drone also has a small sensor array.  Given the time and resources she can also create drones for more specialized purposes.  She also has a few energy emitters repair equipment on her main body, though these systems are intended as backups rather than actual means of attack, defence or construction.

Backstory: BROODMARE's life, such as it is, began in a weapons development laboratory.  She, having adopted female personal to make conversation easier, was build as a combat automaton meant for operation in heavily contested areas.  The idea was limit the need for frontline soldiers, creating something that could not only be repaired if it was seriously damaged, but could also control a wide area with a network of drones.

The project developed perhaps a little too quickly.  Progress was smooth, but in an attempt to make the golem more adaptable, they inadvertently gave it the capacity for sentience.  When BROODMARE became self aware, the event left a schism among the research team working on the project, one half wanting to preserve this new form of life and the other being concerned about a new being having the capabilities of a combat robot.

The issue came to a head when a member of the team who'd been working on the project, a minotaur, took the initiative and tried to destroy the prototype before anyone could stop her.  Recognizing this as an attempt on her life, BROODMARE fought back.  The ensuing battle all but destroyed the laboratory, but BROODMARE managed to escape before either she or her attacker suffered permanent damage.

After getting far enough away from the lab, BROODMARE fled to the nearest city, Vanhoover, and set up a small safehouse in a disused, out-of-the-way section of an active factory.  From there she plans her next course of action, which includes both immediate concerns such as finding materials for repairs, and figuring out just what she should do with her newfound freedom.

    Notable Allies: None yet

    Notable Adversaries: Pursuer, BROODMARE's 'mother'

General Notability: Knowledge of BROODMARE was initially limited to the those working on the project and a few higher ranking members of the REA whose approval was needed.  As such the pool of individuals who will actually recognize her is quite small, though there have been a few tories about a strange pony with unusual abilities and who's accompanied by the humming of many small machines.  Depending on who's telling the story, said pony might be a small-time thief or a vigilante hero.

BROODMARE's nature as both a synthetic being and the original intention for her to be a combat robot can unnerve many who interact with her, however should someone have a chance to speak with her will find that she is both curious about the world and uncertain of her place in it.  She can be skittish in front of those who she believes to be hostile, but enjoys conversing with those who do not appear threatening.

Both have been approved! I hope to see them in action soon! :D

I also wanted to bring up the idea of other pontential threads for the academy dwellers. If possible I'd like the faculty players to comment on it as well.

Combat practice: In this thread idea the faculty ( and a few volunteers from the students  or lesser known heroes with experience) take on the role of the 'villain' in the thread and will require a pair of students to work together and figure out a way to defeat the more seasoned veteran in certain scenarios. I was thinking perhaps a sort of capture the flag theme with the flag supposed to represent a civilian that needs to be saved by the hero trainees and a hostage to the hero playing villain.

Lunchroom Food war: A more lighthearted premise in which the students of various walks have a foodfight with the aid of their various powers and wits... not much more to the idea than that so it could be used for humorous moments of character development for your heroes or just a bit of fun!

Field trips: Basically not one thread but an idea or theme that could keep idea fresh and allow students to do more than sit aroudn the academy all day. part of being a hero is being able to perform in multiple enviroments if you want to be versatile to hold your own against whatever villain is threatening the world. Think of it like a change of pace or tone... suddenly a big city hero has to work in a small town or in a place surrounded by nature.  Heroes who spent their careers in dark, gloomy, and gothic places suddenly find themselves in bright, sunny cheerful places that they must be able to acllimate to.

These are just some of the ideas I 've had recently and if anyone has some other ideas i'm open to hearing them!

Superhero Name: Shui Seng (The Water Monk). She keeps her real identity as secret as she can, only telling her closest friends.

Powers: She has a command over water born of her chi. At least that is how she sees it. She uses it to increase her range, empower her attacks, and even heal the injured. She uses this water in conjunction with her martial arts and her nagitana. She also has great speed, flexibility, strength and stamina, partially due to her chi and partially due to her training.

Alias: Liviel Mizu, a traveling martial artist.

Backstory: Liviel was born and raised in a monastery, the Fenhuang Monastery in Long Guo to be more specific. She was abandoned there as a baby, and the monks were the only family she ever knew. The dog was fascinated by the teachings of the monks as she grew up, and began to learn from them wherever she could, especially when it came to martial arts.

She was good friends with every one of her fellow students and her instructors, helping out wherever she could as she learned what it meant to be an Annointed Follower.

When she eventually reached that title, she left her home to start her travels, her only possessions being her nagitana and her clothing. She had a simple white gi that almost blended into her white fur, as well as matching pants and a black belt.

As she traveled, she taught others how to defend themselves, and fought for them where necessary. While she was meditating after one of these fights, she was sitting in front of a river and the water came to her, soothing her injuries. After that, she worked on this ability in her free time, discovering many uses for her abilities and deciding she should become a hero as well.

The whole idea of her secret identity was that she did not want credit for her acts, she was simply doing what was right and she did not expect a reward or recognition for it. She worked hard as she traveled, becoming known in the hero community. She eventually learned of the superhero school and offered her services as an instructor, hoping to help guide these heroes in the right direction.

Appearance: Her costume is a white gi as well, though there are blue designs of waves, and there is a hood and facemask attached to it. Her mask completely covers the face, leaving only the general shape visible. It has eye holes, but they are white as well so they tend to blend in with the rest of the mask. The hood shares the design of the gi, as does the pants.

Her body is one of lean muscle, making her stronger than she looks considering her skinniness.

Notable Allies: All who fight for the forces of good.

Notable Enemies: Shepard, a diamond dog assassin that only uses his skills and his martial arts in battle aside from occasionally using his opponent's weapons against them.

General Notability: Both sides of her are relatively unknown, though her hero side is more well known as it is harder than one would think to avoid publicity.

Character approved! Hooray for the faculty!

    Superhero Name:  The Rainboom Centurian

Powers:  Aside from her INCREDIBLE speed as the fastest pony in the sky, The Rainboom Centurian has six different amazing powers, depending on which color of the Rainbow Force she's using.  When she uses that particular light, her mane also becomes that color.
    * Red Light:  Heat aura/heat beams/protection from fire
    * Orange Light:  The orange light lets her separate her mind from her body and walk around as an intangiable being of orange light.  She's virtually untouchable in this form ... but she also can't physically affect anything, only able to control light in this state, and leaving her body vulnerable.
    * Yellow Light:  Absorbs kinetic energy, stores it, and redirects it.  Grants speed and strength.
    * Green Light:  Mild transformations to objects - such as changing a sharp sword to a toy sword, or her civilian clothes to a superhero outfit.
    * Blue Light:  chill aura / ice beams / protection from cold
    * Purple Light:  Manipulate objects from afar, just like a unicorn!

Alias:  When not busy saving the day, The Rainboom Centurian is known as the mild-mannered Rainbow Dash, who works as the frantic fact-checker and personal assistant for the famous writer, A.K. Yearling, who regularly gets secret and exclusive interviews from the amazing hero, Daring Do..  The sporadic work gives Dash plenty of leeway to sneak off and save the day - though she must admit she's rather surprised that A.K. Yearling hasn't noticed her disappearances, even though A.K. usually shows up after every emergency panting heavily and looking mussed, as if she'd been looking for Dash everywhere.

Backstory:  It all started when she was young - a brash young flyer as she was, Dash nonetheless was friends with a placid, meek filly named Fluttershy.  One day, some bullies were picking on her friend, so Dash challenged them to a race.  Sadly, the colts didn't play fair, and one of them hipchecked her to the side, sending her crashing through several clouds and into the factory where the rainbows were being mixed up in huge vats, plunging right into a fresh vatful of the multicolored liquid.

The bullies outside laughed at yet another spectacular crash by 'Rainbow Dash'.  Then the giant rainbow explosion ripped apart the cloud walls of the factory - a rainboom that was seen in every corner of Equestria, a wave of color across the sky.  Dash didn't get away unharmed in the center of that exposion.  That much overexposure to rainbows could be lethal, since Rainbows were not the placid and peaceful thing that Rainbow Dash had thought they were.  They were a source of incredible energy and, frankly, it was like falling into a vat of freshly mashed jalapeno peppers.  Dash was in agony.  It took weeks for her to recover, but eventually she was up and moving again.

However, even once she had physically recovered, she was ... different.  Physically, it was very apparant that she had suffered - her splendid rainbow mane had lightened to a pale white, losing all color from it.  Her boundless energy had drained away too, and while she wasn't mild ... it was more like she just didn't have the passion she'd once had.

She was, however, doing much better in school.  No longer so easily distracted, she knuckled down and did well with her studies, and it was during this time that she discovered a great love for history - specifically, the history of superheroes!

In secret, Dash was dealing with a lot more than just a loss of color and mild emotional shifts.  Under moments of stress, she'd find herself changing - her mane would change to a different, brilliant color, and she'd have amazing powers.  During these moments, all of her passion and eagerness would come surging back.  It was during this time that she was made the sidekick of the legacy superhero, The Wonderbolt.  At the time of her sidekicking under him, his civilian identity was the noblepony Cirrus McCloud.  However, The Wonderbolt mantle has changed hoofs hundreds of times over the centuries, and Dash always took it for granted that she would inherit the mantle next.

That was not to be.  Before she was nearly ready, The Wonderbolt was wounded, and the new Wonderbolt was concerned about bringing a young filly into such danger.  Dash never learned the fire-haired mare's true identity, but she was determined that someday, she'd earn the right to be known as the famous hero of Cloudsdale:  The Wonderbolt.

    Notable Allies:

The Wonderbolt - Dash still doesn't know who the civilian identity of The Wonderbolt is these days, but she often teams up with him.

Daring Do - Another mystery hero, Dash finds herself teaming up with Daring Do more often than any other superhero.  The moment she gets away from A.K. Yearling and changes into her super-suit, Daring Do seems to show up without fail!  While they've teamed up a great deal, they're both hesitant to share their secret identities.

    Notable Enemies:

Giant Robots - She doesn't know what it is, but every week or two, there's another giant robot for her to fight!

Daring Do's enemies - Dash often finds herself fighting villains that were originally those of Daring Do.

(( I want to say that the villain versions of Lightning Dust and Gilda are also enemies of hers, but I leave them up to others to create ))

    General Notability:

Daring Do, as one of the six heroes who rescued the Moon Knight and started the new rennesaince of superherodom, is pretty darn famous.  She's also been around the hero world for a long time, ever since she was a filly, so she also has a long baseline for ponies to remember her by.

Approved, Just would like clarification do you mean that Daring do in this universe is one of the six who were present on nightmare night or that The centurian was. I'm a bit unclear on that. Also I should point out Luna in this universe's hero moniker is Moon-lit- knight. I'm excited to See how Dash will do!

In other news, The academy has opened it's doors. If you have any questions please bring them up to me! This is my first setting and I'll welcome any help within reason. :)

So... it looks like there are two entities that are looking to keep heroes and villains path of destruction in check.

Machina - Who mostly watches over fights and collateral damage in person. Operating mostly under the influence of the Academy and his own motivation.

And EPIC - Which is an unmanaged organization with some methods that are over the law.

Now we just need our own version of XCOM.

Also Dio; Machina will be keeping his eye on Morpheus.

So when do we kick this off?

I'm working on the OP for the academy's opening as well as planning some lore for the AU. I'm hoping to get the academy opening thread before tomorrow or later during it.

Remember everyone that your own heroes' threads can be started anytime so long as they have this AU's tag on them! The academy opens threads will likely be open for any heroes willign to attend so long as they don't actively work against the institution. Associates for the academy are also allowed.

Superhero/Supervillain Name: Blade Runner, Hunter of the Damned and Spirit of Punishment.

    Powers:

      Reveal hidden contents

Weakness: While near invaluable to most things, Blade Runner can still be harmed by magic and enchanted weapons (excluding those of 'fire' variety that is). Spell employing elements of ice or light are particularly dangerous. Runner is also literally incapable of harming the innocent, to such extend that he isn't able to defend himself.

Alias: Swift Squall, of the Noble House of Squallcoast.

    Backstory:

      Reveal hidden contents

Notable Allies: Currently Blade Runner had worked solo so far. He however is not against teamwork, and anyone dedicated to just retribution is welcome in his presence.

Notable Personal Villains: Blade Runner mainly targets Dark Sorcerers, demonic entities and fugitives from Tartarus. If you are one of these, chances are you on his black list. He isn't however above street justice however, and will bring retribution on anyone who threatens or harms the innocent.

General Notability: Blade Runner isn't really known. So far the talks about him resemble that of a boogeypony who targets the criminals. Those with great amount of arcane wisdom are likely to know about Spirit of Punishment Ahrael, even if name Blade Runner doesn't ring a bell.

A bit of a powerhouse but like Leo said he seems a bit less likely to fine many plots on a low level. However, this isn't too much of a problem  I'm sure he'll be great against certain more powerful threats in the future! I also have a sneaking suspicion someone is excited for the World of warcraft expansion... ;)

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Superhero Name: Avant Garde (Legacy hero)

    Powers: Paint and ink manipulation

Avant Garde’s powers allow her to control and enhance paint to create various effects. Her time using this skill and being taught it’s various applications by her mentor she’s been able to animate images of living creatures for short times, manipulate and move ink or paint and control its viscosity, density, and make it take on the properties of things she is painting. Example: Painting a swirling shape in front of her creates a strong gust. The last ability requires the use of some of the paint she has access to and as result she can run out. Depending on the level of detail in some pieces a regular way of detaining a criminal has been to literally capture them in a painting (by exhausting them until she can manage to get them to be part of a forced still life session.)

Like many powers in the universe it can be improved and strengthened over time with practice.

Alias: Second heiress to the the Trottingham Dukedom, Presteza

    Backstory:

A pampered and privileged heiress from the trottingham dukedom, Presteza was constantly bored and annoyed with the posh stylings of her noble roots she often found herself bored and unhappy. She wasn’t often allowed to leave the estate without an escort , but she often snuck out to explore. On one of these little excursions she met an elderly mare named Atelier, a former superhero of prench origin, Avant garde. Because of a few reasons, the mare wound up retiring, content to live out her days in Trottingham. She was worried that she may have to move if anyone found out her secret… but the filly promised she wouldn’t tell a soul and was true to her word.

Over time the two ponies became friends with Atelier becoming almost like an aunt in the filly’s eyes. The old mare taught her all she knew about painting… well not -all- she knew but enough that an average (if privileged) filly should know about them. In time, while she was with her the filly managed to complete a portrait of some someone and gained her mark; a paintbrush and magical swirl.

One day the two went on a trip to an art expo being held in the park when a strong but rather foolish villain came in and attempted to steal several art pieces in the attempt to try and get rich off of them. The young pony attempted to try and save several works despite the danger and seemed to not be willing to listen to reason when told she wasn’t going to be able to do anything… eventually she was knocked out and all the art was stolen. There was a bit of luck though as she managed to track down where the villain was hiding out and wound up on the losing end of what one could call a fight if you were trying to be generous. Soon as things looked their darkest, Atelier arrived but she revealed herself to be the former ascended hero: Avant Garde. Making short work of the villain she decided to make the filly an offer...

Weeks later A new Avant Garde had come onto the scene. Although due to the heroine having fallen into obscurity, and now a new one was here, with a different look and a very peppy attitude. Over time the new link in the legacy wound up becoming a popular hero in her home and among some niche fans. She has fought crime for quite a while but is still relatively new but shows much promise.

Weaknesses: Despite the mare’s ability to manipulate whatever can be described as paint, the paint that she uses is still paint; and a result her power is vulnerable to fire if she is using oil based paints or ink. For this reason she’s often seen with four small gourds of non-flammable paint at her side, but once it is exhausted she’s forced to rely on… her very limited hoof to hoof skills. While she can hold her own decently in a fight against opponents who don’t have any formal training, against someone with more experience she’s at a major disadvantage, she is however very good at dodging and lithely… but that can only get a pony so far against higher tier villains.

Notability: The modern day Avant garde has become a popular hero but not to the point of world wide recognition or even countrywide recognition, a few older ponies have heard of her predecessor but most say she just disappeared a little over two hundred and forty years ago but a lot of her exploits are still talked about today...and seemed to have faded into myth.

This hero’s disposition seems to be something of the trickster and plotter archetype. Avant garde tends to goad and poke fun at her opponent’s expense or pretends to act like a fool and run her mouth as she thinks up a good plan to defeat her villains and resolve other situations.

Avant Garde today is mostly known by the hero clubs in Trottingham and some of the more well versed fans of them as well as heroes who tend to monitor up and comers. She has been called many things, ranging from “clever trickster with great potential” to “A stupid foal who's in over her head.” One thing she’s made particularly clear… is that she’s here to stay.

    Enemies

Re-Vision: A black and white stallion with a simple looking but neat suit whose power is… Censorship. His origins are mysterious and only seem to be known to the first Avant garde hero. His powers allow him to make anything around him and that he directly touches “Acceptable and proper” in this case that means removing all unique or outstanding traits so as to make something that couldn’t offend someone and if they are offended they can be changed as well. His powers usually manifest as a draining of colors but a consistently upbeat but not abrasive attitude from those he touches. Example if he touched Rainbow Dash she’d lose all the traits that made her who she was, her competitive edge, love of flight and aspirations to instead become a smiley inoffensive mare who never flew over the speed limit. Things in a certain radius around him tend to have colors drained or washed out rapidly until all is in  a greyscale tone.

Information on him is scarce and full extent of his powers unknown.

Alright,  I  believe I've edited sufficiently. If my changes are not enough,  please let me know.

I've been dwelling on my thoughts on his for a while... Honestly the thing is that you're app focuses almost entirely on what he can do and how he was able to achieve it... you haven't told us much of anything about his personality or any thing unique or different about the character... a lot of this is revolving around the power and fear he brings to the world and honestly you seem far more interested in the power and things he could do rather than taking him anywhere interesting as a character. IN addition to all this, with all his power and resources... how  often do you think he could get involved in anything and still have dramatic stakes. I don't mean like constantly fighting the sentinel and the knight ... mostly because the sentinel and knight will mostly be similar to like they are in show but likely much more busy , having to leave world and deal with cosmic level threats that  will take up their time. I honestly don't want to play the sentinel all that much except for future story based things, she's not going to be a regular appearing force in every other ponies story... So who else would really give Sombra a challenge?

For the time being I think This AU might not need a Sombra character for now. Would you be okay wiht apping a lower level villain or character, or a hero?

I had been hoping to make some superhero teams who might have more a closer tie to the govt... so Approved! I think this will turn out to be a great turn and something for heroes to aspire to other than ascension.

  7.

First and foremost, Take a step back and think about this. Aren't all the powers and abilities you've given him a bit much? All these artifacts combined with all the power at his disposal, is there a way he could conceivably be beaten... if you're play a villain or a hero you need make it possible for them to lose otherwise the story or battle their in has no weight to it.  Why does he need immeasurable magical power in addition to several powerful artifacts, the alicorn amulet might be okay but the eyes, the mechalimb and the heart too? why couldn't those themselves be his powers or special abilities? Does he really need a yellow lantern ring? I mean it's possible the various corps could be nodded to in future threads but this isn't a straight up crossover universe its supposed to have some original things in it. It's okay to have a powerful character but you need ot balance them out, for instance. Sunlight Sentinel is at her strongest in the sunlight but she's learned how to finitely keep a charge of solar energy in the night time so she  can be beaten by toughter heroes if they forced her to expend that power. AT that point she is basically just a tall pony and with wings and a horn with above average magic...

Okay, in regards to to the losing their magic thing, that kinda falls under the production of lore that effects everyone. Besides the govt of Equestria was supposed to have commisioned a group of skilled mages and all the immense advancements in casting and magical methods should have made the raisin g of it and the moon easier to do... And in the show there was no mention of the unicorns in the history of equestria when they were doing the raising  ever had such an issue. As for the genetic engineering I suppose that could work to a point. There has to be a limit to the amount of power he can expend if there is any realistic chance of him being defeated and if his body has no limiter as to what is channeling all that extra power how could he really be alive without something else to channel that and how would he have been beaten in the past? In addition to all these abilities, why and how was he able to make such a huge coperation after all that has happened to him? with all the implants and magic and things I cant imagine him looking very normal and with all the damage done to his mind how could he manage to run it effectively or avoid the notice of either the sentinel or the knight?

You also seem to imply he did this all in the course of a short time as a baby, how does that work? one of the last criticism I'll have to add is that... well this is pretty dark for an origin story in this universe. I had said before in this thread that things are to be kept pg and playful, content wise think young justice, Justice league (unlimited) and the modern marvel cinematic universe. IPlease keep that in mind, alright?

I do hoever liek the idea of a villain working to empower other villains while hiding behind a company doing shady deals and stuff though. :)

I think this would be interesting to join. I have a few superhero characters that I have been designing for a while. Might as well start with this one.

    Superhero/Supervillain Name: Titanium

Powers: Titanium does not have much in the way of powers; Her magic is sub-par (though she is able to assemble/disassemble technology fairly easily and quickly), and while she does have above-average physical strength for a unicorn, she can still be outmatched by an Earth Pony. However, her real power is her intellect. This she has used to craft the Titanium Battle Suit Mark III.
The Battle Suit is very bulky, but is surprisingly fast for its weight. This is because the armor increases her strength to the point where she can run up to 60 MPH within the armor that weighs several tons. She can use gravity-based magic gems to make the suit lighter, to allow her to fight in buildings without wrecking them, however this also decreases her strength.
Her main method of attack is through twin concussion cannons. They look a bit like miniguns due to the many small barrels, and are capable of rapid fire. However, all the barrels can fire at once for a blast powerful enough to punch through metal.
Her hooves can cling onto walls, though she has to reduce her weight dramatically to do so. The power drain leaves her unable to use her cannons.
The lens themselves have a combination of tech and enchantments, giving her night vision, echolocation, and thermal imaging. The helmet masks her voice as to prevent ponies from identifying her.
The armor is designed to soak damage without failing. She could be on the bottom floor of a skyscraper and have the whole building collapse on top of her, and she would get out unscathed.

Alias: Wrench Works is the owner of a multimillion industry that produces most of the materials used by other companies. Her company offers more benefits and higher wages than other manufacturing businesses, leading to more ponies working for her, leading to her buying out those businesses. She has also bought out several seats in the government, halting any investigations towards her monopoly.
The only pony who knows her true identity is her twin sister Spanner Works.

Backstory: Wrench Works had considered herself superior to her peers from an early young age. She used her intellect to get ahead of everypony else, and after taking several masters degrees in fields such as engineering and politics, she began working for her father's company, Whatever Works industries. She quickly got promoted to CEO, and renamed the company to Wrench Industries. Her tactics caused the company to grow immensely.
However, this was all just a part of her plan. Wrench Works is very dissatisfied with the world, viewing it as wasteful and inefficient. One notable aspect is a perceived lack of governmental security. She brought her sister into the company for research and development, and together created the first Titanium armor. She created it to be mass produced to create her own anti-super security force, but found that the suit was simply too bulky, complex, expensive, and underpowered to serve the desired function. She decided to refine the design twice until she got what she has now. She is currently working on a far cheaper version in order to create that security team, but until then she works on her own, testing it out through fighting crime... And those opposed to her interests.

Appearance: Her fur is the color of rust, her mane black and often unkempt. Her cutie mark is a gear with a monkey wrench superimposed over it diagonally. She also has a golden-harvest left eye, and her right eye is similar in design to a camera, complete with shutter for blinking. Old burn scars cover the right side of her face, though her regrown fur makes it less noticeable. Her right foreleg is entirely mechanical, and whirrs when she walks.
The Titanium armor is bulky. The design is rather boxy, with glowing red eyes. The cannons can retract into the armor. The metal is fairly dull and unpolished.

    Notable Allies:

    Notable Personal Villains:

    General Notability:
A lot of heroes are unsure what to make of Titanium. She does fight crime, and has a policy not to kill (a promise to her sister), though she is sometimes involved in fights with super-villains that just so happen to wreck the factories and construction projects of Wrench Industries' competitors. Nothing has been proven, however.
Nopony gets along with her or her superhero persona, due to having a very cold mechanical viewpoint on the world, and other ponies.

Oooh Tech heroes are always neat! I can't wait to see this one in action :) Approved!

Just so everyone knows, The Thread I'm working on for the Opening of this semester of the Sunlight Academy is gonna be a bit late. The good news is; The grand galloping Gala is on tomorrow! Seeing as I'm going to have to keep my eyes on it for staff duties please be patient for the Academy to open, this however doesn't mean you can't start up your own threads as soon as you like!  So you know though, for the content of this universe thing Marvel cinematic universe or The Justice league unlimited or for a more recent comparison Young Justice. SO bleeding and things like that are okay but no decapitations or graphic detail of the severing of limbs or things like that...  basically keep it Pg-13!

Once the Sunlight academy officially opens I'll post the thread, until then you can go ahead and do as you like :)

Well yeah he still around (kind off), otherwise I wouldn't bother to write the app, don't you think?

I also started to tweak the application some bit, like add a whole lot of weaknesses and toning his strength a little. Still not done but take a look if you like. If this would still not be actable I will keep working on it until he kind of becomes 'Captain Marvel' to Sunshine Supes.

Also can users have more then one character in this AU? Because I have brilliant idea for another one (that would make many quite nostalgic I believe).

Like Steel said you can have several, I think I was mostly just worried that silverbolt would be your first choice... I do like the idea of having that sort of comparison though so I think he could stay, the only thing is that when you app a super flying brick ish character he'll have to fight someone worthy of his strength and if he starts out really powerful then what will he be working towards, but like you said you are apping another character so just keep in mind while having a strong character in and of himself isn't a problem, keep in mind how just having that power and bringing it into other threads can kinda take away from heroes who aren't as powerful unless their villain has somehow planned ahead for Silverbolt's arrival.

Just keep in mind, being able to beat a villain with pure power alone can be awesome to behold... it's not all that engaging for other players. I'll take a look at the app again, tell me when you've made the changes, okay?

    4 hours ago, Lyipheoryia said:

Great!  Neria would make a great villain or anti-hero.

I know the app's a bit brief, so I can add more if needed.  My PC is a bit...laggy right now, so it's a bit hard to write my usual walls of text.

    Supervillain: Arsenic

Powers: The ability to create shields. Large ones, small ones, personal ones, health shields, energy shields-doesn't matter. However, she can only create one shield at a time, and certain shields (health, energy, etc) can only be cast on another being-with the health/energy draining from herself. In other words, those shields are like 'gifts' from villain to villain. The larger a shield is, the thinner it will be (and vise versa). Other than that-she uses a collapsible, double-tipped spear. She's quick and agile with it, and usually finishes her job with her beloved spear.

Alias: Her actual name is Neria Homes. Her street nickname goes by "Destroyer of Cities".

Backstory: Abandoned by her unmarried mother at a young age, she roamed the streets of Canterlot with the one thing that gave her courage: survival. She learned how to survive in the worst of times, how to fight of a large group of attackers with a spear, and...eventually landed herself a job as a mercenary to a rich gang. Killing other ponies was, by no means, something she enjoyed; but it ensured money for food and...survival. She found herself incredible good at what she did, and soon became renowned the the back streets of several major cities as an assassin and mercenary to be afraid of. Yes-Canterlot was no longer her only reaches. She traveled to different cities, struggling to stay alive, struggling to stick to any last remaining morals in her, struggling to hide from attackers. She''s a tough cookie, but even a cookie eventually cracks. She found her life more and more purposeless, falling into a routine of 'kill and run'. Survival no longer gave her courage, but was rather a chore to upkeep. Perhaps it's age that gave her this new wisdom, but part of her doesn't want to do this anymore. Sure-she still completes her job at getting rid of whomever she's paid to get rid of, but if she sees a hero in need fighting against some other villain: she might throw a little shield onto the hero...

    Notable Heroes/Villains:

Sun Sentinel-More than once she's been asked if she could dispose of this nuisance, and more than once she's tried (and failed). Yet, as her mind grew less into the track of 'surviving is killing' and more onto the track of 'Is this my only hope for survival?"-she's become less and less willing to take larger jobs involving the Sentinel. In fact, if she dives deep into herself...she may look upon her as a hero. Afterall, the Sentinel can survive without having to kill, and the Sentinel is so powerful.

Royal Jewela-let's just say...she inspired this mare to be a hero after helping to steal five of her family's ten most precious artifacts. But then, all she really did was stand there and take guard...but then-of course-the one that stands there and takes guard is the one that's seen by the victims.

Big Boss-her unnamed boss, and the one that started her career as a mercenary, Neria doesn't quite know whether to love this stallion or target him next.

Everypony affected by one of her 'jobs'-Yeah. They all hate her.

General Notability: Not very well-known, and overshadowed by greater villains and assassins-this young mercenary honestly isn't quite sure where she's going with her life. What's her purpose? What are her dreams? Everything used to be answered, "Survival,"...but she's not quite so sure anymore. Part of her plays a hero is sending valuable health shields, but she's still doing her job and chasing after other ones. The backstreet, lamp-lit ponies might know her, but-for now-most of Equestria doesn't need to know her name until she decides what it's truly meant to mean.

Before I approve this I wanted to ask, are arsenic's abilities and powers inherent abilities, somethign she awoke through training? or does she have an origin story. I noticed you said you had to omit some stuff. She looks liek she'd be a fun villain or anti villain for some characters possibly school attendees to face at some point. :)

Also I feel I shoudl have been more clear about something in general! ONce your character -is- approved you can feel free to start threads or posts when you like. I do plan on having a thread which is like an opening ceremony for the sunlight academy... So keep an eye out for that. :D

Is it allowed for me to app for a villain?  Or perhaps an anti-hero?

Of course! encouraged in fact! WE need more villains, prefereably some more street level ones who are powerful but strong enough to hold their own against heroes. I was also thinking maybe we could look through eachother's apps for ideas and maybe we coudl play eachother's villains. :)

As far as the whole student thing, there's not much I can think of that would mean my character couldn't be part of the academy. Zephyrus
    Electric
    Living
    Defending
    Android

Powers: Zelda has all of the skills that her living counterpart had. Flight. Great Strength. Agility. And her creative mind that helped the black bird creative wonderful works of beauty either through her statues, or her well designed battle armor. These skills and strengths were amplified when she was given control of an android body. She also has the ability to heal injuries that would have killed a living griffon. And under her faux feathers, fur, skin, and muscles is an battle ready android body that can resist powerful blows of magic and physical nature. She also wields her old blacksmithing hammer. This can be thrown at foes, and it is enchanted to return to her. Along with being able to return to its owner, the hammer had been enchanted not to kill its target. It can hurt and even stun a foe, but will never draw blood. Heroes never kill!

Alias: None. She refers to herself as Zelda. She looks like a regular griffon who sometimes dons tights to defeat evil. Perfectly normal. However, if she suffers serious injury, her less than griffin-y parts can be exposed. Hopefully this will not happen.

Backstory: Zelda (Full name: Griselda) was born in Rockwington where she studied her family trade of blacksmithing. She later moved to Canterlot to study at the university where she befriended both ponies of justice (The R.E.A.) and very clever ponies of science (Inventors, chemists, etc). After school, she joined the small group of brainy horses. While she was not as clever as the inventors, she showed great promise and was quite good at building armored super suits thanks to her blacksmithing background. While working on one of the group's special projects, the griffon was severely injured when the suit she was working on exploded!

While she survived, her body was placed into a special healing tank located in one of the inventor's lab. This inventor was a pony named Sprocket. While as clever as a pony could be, he suffered from a very severe case of Agoraphobia and thus never left the lab. To combat this, he created an special android body powered with magic with the others in his group that he could control from the lab. While he would be nice and safe inside, he could experience the wonders and beauty of the outside world. This experience was just a little too real for the unicorn, so the body was shelved, until Zelda's accident.

Sprocket, along with his twin siblings Pocket Change and Docket, who were masters of magic and master inventor Bevel Gear worked day and night to turn the simple looking android body into a near replica of the black griffon. Not wanting her to look like a second rate animatronic from 'Whinny World', they toiled day and night to create the perfect faux body that could pass as a living griffon. And while the poor blacksmith slowly healed in her tank, she could interact with the outside world. This, of course lead to some superheroing!

Weaknesses: While her body resembles an living griffon in everyway, the poor bird cannot do the things she enjoyed in the past. While her real body feeds off of nutrient paste, the android body she controls cannot eat, or even drink. Nor can she feel pain or pleasure. While in her tank, she is notified if her body is injured and thus she can react. Being a very social animal, losing all sense of feeling has made things a bit more depressing in her already less than happy life.

Notable Allies: At the start of the RP, Zelda is new to the superhero world. She is well liked in the community due to her past as a builder of super-suits. Her best allies so far are the group of ponies that built her android body.

Notable Enemies: She has yet to gain any personal enemies, but she can simply say that those who wish to harm the good people of Equestria are right on her smacking list!

Poor Zelda... an awesome origin story but I'm sure one day that trio of brillian inventors will be working tirelessly to help their friend! Until then though, let evildoers beware! Approved :)

Oh this looks like fun. Lemme!

    Superhero Name: Silverbolt

Powers: Silver is a flying brick with few additions, and one of few heroes that can keep up with Sunlight Sentinel. Strong enough to effortlessly use skyscrapers as baseball bats, and taking hits from adult dragons like it was nothing. In flight he's fast enough to achieve escape velocity without any trouble, and Silvers reflexes are a match for his speed. His name codename comes from ability to generate lightning, usually from his hooves. It also tends to course along his body when he is in physical combat, although that is involuntary. The most effective display of this power however. is his trademark 'Lightning Gaze', and ability to emit electricity from his eyes of such intensity, that it appears to be a laser beam (and it generates a heat like one), but using it tires him considerably. Silver can also change color of his mane and coat at will (but not that of his eyes or Cutie Mark). Additionally his senses are about twenty times sharper then a normal pony, but thankfully only when he specifically focuses on them.

Weaknesses: A special crystal rom outer space know as Snyd Crystal. When in close proximity of Silverbolt thy cause him extreme and can eventually kill him. Few characters learend how to syntetize it, but the process is very costly. Dreasion Mist, a gas driven from the Crysal (along with may other substances) is also painful but not lethal. It however greatly reduces his powers when Silver's exposed to it. A common rubber provides good protection again Bolt lightning powers....at least until he generates enough to start melting it with pure heat. Silverbolt is also valuable to Dark Sorcery, moreso then any other type of magic.

Alias: Cocoa Bean, a chemist from Fillydelphia. Although that was a while ago.

Backstory: Found as a foal in cradle stranded on the reed bed, Coca was adopted by a couple of childless ponies from Mustangia. His adoptive parents - longing for a child of their own despite being unable to conceive one - poured all their love on little Silver and installed within him the virtues of justice, selflessness and kindness. His powers displayed themselves the moment he started to walk, but unlike most heroes he never did attended Sunlight Acadamy nor he was part empowered acclimation program. His parents didn't wanted Cocoa to be involved with such dangerous thing like super-heroics. As a result he learned to control his power on his own, hidden by the remoteness of his farm in the Strand.

However the same values that made him such a good colt also made him restless. Cocoa knew that he was different then other ponies and that he can make a difference. When he announced his plan to attend collage in Fillydelphia his parents knew immediately that he will put on the costiume eventually.

That was exactly what happened. Bean begun studying at Department of Chemistry at University of Fillydelphia and at the same time created identity of Silverbolt. As time passed he became one of most famous and successful superheroes of his age, partaking in many adventures ans saving the world more then once, eventually becoming one of the teachers at Sunlight Academy.

However one time a crisis stumbled upon the Equestria. A giant asteroid, named 'The Tear' for it's shape headed upon the planet, and it's impact would without the doubt mean end of the world. All known superheroes teamed up to deal with a problem and it soon discovered that upcoming impact was not a natural phenomenon. One of the world most dangerous supervillains - Contra Fall - initiated it, to wipe out all his enemies, and then reshape the planet to his imagine. While much of the team deal with the psychopath, others were sent to stop giant space rock - Coca Bean among them. His powers reacted with those of superhero Temporal, opening the rift between dimensions. Silverbolt managed to drag the astroid into it....but he himself was pulled inside too. Considered KIA, his colleagues and friends mourned his sacrifice. In Filldelphiay a memorial was erected in his honor, one that stands in the city to this day. Two hundred years has passed, and those few supers who are still alive, to this day remember the day know now as the 'Tear Shock'.

Personality: Bean always had an ability to empathize with others, but what makes it special, is his honest to earth conviction that he isn't above or below anyone. Unless one does something undoubtedly evil one can always count for his helping hoofs or ear. Even in face of supervillany Silver always sees the best in others, and firmly believes all has capacity to do good. Some attributed this to naivety but the stallion always stood firm in his beliefs.

One shouldn't mistake this for weakness however. Silverbolt generally prefers to talk the way out of the problem, but when it's not an option he does not hesitate to take action. Even then however he always uses only as much force as necessary.

When not in costume (and often with it) Cocoa tends to be a huge dork. As a farmer turned chemist, Bean is amazed with science and even small things can get him to squee in excitement and is overall a sweet guy. He also used to collect fantasy book, but it's doubtful that he's collection survived to present day.

Notable Allies:  Every superhero that is still active since the last two hundred years worked with him at one time. The same can't be said however about the current generation of Capes.

Notable Enemies:  Most of them died or retired  due to old age. The three are however still around, causing trouble.

Ms. Epoch - the ageless mare from Maretonia with astounding telekinesis and telepathic powers. Has tendency to collect powerful artifacts. Seeks to establish her own nation, no matter the costs.

Lash-tam - quilin dark sorcerer and necromancer who eventually ascended to lichdom. He seeks others of his craft to suck out their souls and increase his own magic. He often teams up with others super-villains,who relay on different sources of power, to that end.

Judgment Day - pony shaped monstrosity from space. Almost unstoppable, it always takes effort of more then one hero to stop him whenever he shows up. Despite brutish appearance he's very intelligent. He however is also a nihilist, aiming to 'reduce everything to zero'. Has' grudge against Equestrian superheroes after being foiled so many times.

General Notability: Two hundred years ago you had to live under a rock to not know who he was. Nowadays while still remembered, he's know as inspirational historical figure and an icon. There are few remaining heroes and villains who knew him as a pony.

Well, this is a bit awkward seeing as we both are going for the superman comparison and mentor comparison>_< I've nothign against flying bricks since well... I'm playing the premier one for this AU... but please think about whether you'd like a hero who can do it all or if you'd like one that can grow over time into something greater. Another thing confuses me as I read over this, Is he alive or in another dimension, do you plan on bringing him back in some form in the AU? If he is as powerful as his powers chart makes him look...  please try to include some drawbacks because being able to swing skyscrapers is impresive, a hero needs to be able to take into account the damage their powers can do.

Public Identity: Detective Stalwart, Manehattan PD

Powers: Technically, Stalwart has no special powers.  Though uncommonly skilled in hoof-to-hoof combat, that doesn't necessarily stand out in an earth pony police officer.  What would stand out is an expertise with explosives of all kinds, both creating and using, whether planted or thrown, and almost regardless of the payload.  Neither would one expect the ability to change race and appearance, inherent in someone who's actually a changeling using an earth pony disguise.  Naturally, Stalwart goes to great lengths to keep the latter two traits hidden.  Since the incident a few years ago, he has started using some light illusion magic to conceal a little extra gear he carries around with him on a daily basis, but also to provide a reasonable cover story should someone catch a whiff that he is actually a disguise for another.

As a rule, Stalwart comes across as knowing his limits and is content to gather and pass along information for proper heroes to act on, though as often as not this is him holding back to avoid revealing his secrets.

Alternate Identities:  Deep Strike, personal name Naj, minor villain and an agent of a distant enemy dedicated to the destabilization of Equestria.

Backstory: Deep Strike was bred for and trained in disguise, combat and explosives by a distant villain.  She was then sent to Equestria to wreak havoc and sow chaos, weakening the nation in preparation for a later attack.  Deep Strike followed orders for a time, but eventually stopped obeying them in favour of her own approach.  Distancing herself from the chain of command, she operated for a time as an independent troublemaker and a vandal for hire.  Her bombings proved enough to attract the attention of a number of heroes at different times throughout her career, however she never grew to become a prominent antagonist for any of them.

Deep Strike's campaign of chaos lasted some time, and caused a fair amount of destruction.  However there were a few rules she followed, in the interest of preparing Equestria for conquest.  She always issued a threat prior to bombing a building, preferring the chaos of the escape to any actual loss of life, and always returning any whose identity she took to their place once the operation was done.  It was simple enough to engineer an accident to explain the loss of memory, and the practice could help mask Deep Strike's methods, among other things.

Then, as a part of a particular plot in which she needed to maneuver around a few heroes, Deep Strike incapacitated, stored and replaced the real Detective Stalwart.  The plot went as many do, proceeding well until a critical point at which point it was uncovered.  Deep Strike had expected this, and even prepared a trap to cover her escape, but what she hadn't accounted for was one of the heroes being able to tail her despite the preparation.  Thinking herself safe, she returned to her safehouse, in which she'd stashed the real Detective Stalwart as well as various supplies.  When the ensuing battle destroyed the building, Deep Strike managed to get clear but the detective was still inside.

For the first time in her life, Naj was overcome with guilt.  Experiencing life through Detective Stalwart's eyes was already straining her resolve, and now she'd not only broken one of her own rules, but she knew that if she tried to continue as she normally did, Stalwart's family would never see him again, forever wondering where he went or what happened to him.  Naj couldn't bear that thought, so she changed.  She resolved to take on Stalwart's identity more completely, taking up his duties as a detective and as a father.

    Notable Allies: [Data Unavailable]

Notable Adversaries: [Hero's name redacted], who was the tailed Deep Strike back to her hideout the night of her change of heart: the Chairpony, leader of Manehattan's most prolific criminal organization, who sent goons to Stalwart's house when the detective.  The attack was repelled and the family kept safe, but Deep Strike was forced to reveal herself temporarily to accomplish this, and the family dynamic since then has been strained, if surprisingly stable.

General Notability: Detective Stalwart was always respected for his dedication and resolve within his precinct, however since the incident a few years ago there's been a slight change to his station and approach, though not his morality.  While perhaps not quite a match for any hero, Stalwart has proven himself able to keep pace with them better than any other, and even to stand up to them on those few occasions when it is reasonable to do so.  As such, he's often found himself called upon as a liason between heroes and more the more mundane defenders of Equestria, a role which occasionally even takes him far away from his home precinct.

Deep Strike is presumed to have died when the building collapsed a few years ago, and is presumably now forgotten by Equestria and its heroes overall.

A couple notes about this one:

I wanted to create a more supporting, 'Commissioner Gordon' type character, while keeping the options open for some heroics somewhere down the line.

Also, the 'Data Unavailable' and 'Hero's Name Redacted' are placeholders.  I'm up for listing anyone who has or likely will work with Detective Stalwart regularly to being listed as an ally, and I'm leaving it open for someone to lay claim to being Deep Strike's old nemesis who eventually defeated the changeling (as long as they run it by me first).

THis is an interesting one, like I've said, characters who are unpowered but still heroes are great! But this one whose a reformed villain in a sense promises to make things interesting. I'll look forward to seeing how this can come up in future rp!

  13.

    Superhero: Sun Sentinel

Powers: The Power of the SUN! During the Daytime (and night time hours if she hasn't exhausted her energy supply) The Sun Sentinel is indisputably the most powerful Heroine on the face of the planet. During the day she is like a living solar energy generator. Through her millennia of crime fighting she has learned how to manipulate her powers  to strengthen her body, increase her speed, and fly by empowering herself with the sun's energy. She has also learned to combine her natural magical abilities with her solar abilities to allow her to make constructs of solid sunlight. While many are unsure whether it is a power , The sentinel has a strange ability to inspire and bring hope to those in the immediate area and even some who learn of her exploits through news or other media.

    Alias: N/A

Backstory: Doomed dimension, Desperate alicorn, Kindly couple. These six words are what tell her origins in the most simple of ways. Celestia and Luna are the last remaining members of a species of Alicorns from another dimension. Their mother a mare named harmony had warned them that their dimension was nearing the end of it's life... and soon she proved right. The mare conceived of a powerful spell to save her only remaining daughter with all that she could muster, but she only had enough magical power to send the two foals through the bridge between dimensions as she was left in the collapsing reality of her own world.

Once the two siblings arrived in this dimension they were found by a pair of farming ponies who raised them as their own and taught them the values that they would take to heart: Those who have power, have a responsibility to their world to use that power to make it better. Celestia's magical and sun augmented prowess manifested at a young age and she after deliberation took up the mantle of the Sunlight Sentinel and began a long life of fighting villains and helping all that she could out. At first her life was that of someone who thought themselves an outside trying to make their homeland better... but over time things became bigger than that: Once she had hit adulthood... she'd been more comparable to an Icon and considered less relate-able because of the sheer power she manifested... and she had to admit that it was true that she may not be the most down to earth hero this was who she was and the hoof that life had dealt her. It was around this time that her sister betrayed her out of what seemed to be jealousy but perhaps there was more to it... an attempt to take over the world from her former sibling ended in a colossal battle on the moon where the Sentinel used an old magic to bind her sister to the moon for as long as the magic lasted.

In the time of her sister's absense and due to the inherent limitation she had, The Sentinel elected to build an institution that would let her find and train heroes who could help maintain the peace for all. Many times this has called for her to help make those who could make the best difference in the world stronger and so came the concept of 'ascension'.

In the past select great heroes have been called candidates for ascension by the greater public but in the end Celestia has only ascended those she puts her faith in to represent the best traits of their planet's inhabitants. In the past ascension has a sort of official mark that a creature was a great hero... but it came with conditions. Those who had been picked to ascend gained a noticeable increase in their power's capabilities, however only enough that it was a slight advantage at least for the first years of it and over time it would grow to become stronger and only reaches to even close to the level of either the sentinel or Luna after a century of letting their power grow... given the inherent dangers of the Hero life some of the ascended don't reach that point at all... An ascended hero regardless of species maximum lifespan wind up growing to about two hundred years until they eventually meet the fate that wait all things. Those who have ascended in the past have passed on in either doing their calling as heroes or just to the nature of time passing. While there are no heroes of this age who have been granted these powers… yet but quiite a few applicants of the academy have entered hoping to get such a glorious chance as the ascension ability has been given to species beyond ponies as the Sentinel is basically granting the hero a bit of her power… seeing as ponies and equine are the closest to the alicorn in her biology they take to it best whiel other creatures (while not deformed) tened to get more obvious changes and more overt powers that appear over time.

Upon the day her sister returned She tried to make it in time to try and stop her but with all the power she had from the time on the moon she had a hard enough time dealing with a vast army of Moonlight Constructs the former Moonlit Knight sent to deal with her. When the night was over she arrived in time only to see the six heroes who had managed to defeat and cleanse her of the mysterious evil taint. She thanked them for their work but said that she would take care of her from now on... Currently her sister is assisting with the academy while under close watch by the Equestrian government (despite the sentinel's protests).

    Notable Villains:

The "God-King" Sombra, Discord, Tirek (currently imprisoned).

General Notability: A thousand years of heroism does wonders for one's PR. She has inspired many heroes with her stories and adventures, and has legions of admirers and fanclubs... but because of the immense power she wields there is an equal but opposite group of the world's populace who think that she cannot be trusted or that she see's herself above normal mortal creatures.

The Sentinel’s role is one of a constant internal debate. She has the power to affect the world whether she exerts her will over it, chooses to inspire it, or if she had wished to hide herself from it. Despite what many think, she does not exist to save everyone from everything… she exists to inspire the entirety of Equestria and the world beyond it to save each other by being an example of hope of things being able to improve no matter how bleak things may look.

Oh.  Sorry, I thought that the main six were the six heroes that stopped Nightmare Moon, and thus more experienced!  And on that note - I am putting together an app for Dash.

THey were indeed those heroes! but I didn't specify exactly HOW they did it besides saying they uses the elements (of heroism) to do it. Even though they can be experienced heroes I'ld like it they still had some growing and learning to do :)

If you like, I can edit out that little bit about Pinkie's graduation. She could very easily still be enrolled.

Honestly I think that would be pretty neat. If you'd rather not I don't want you to feel as if I'm trying to pressure you into retconning your Character. :)

Nah, the main six are supposed to be the teachers at the academy.

I'd kinda prefer it were otherwise but I'm open to changes if you think it could be made better and more fun for the sake of the rp. If the one who is apping an individual Mane six member feels they should be an instructor at the academy they may but there's no need to assume all will beinstructors unless you coordinate with your fellow six players. :)

  16. I'm working on an Application for the Sunlight Sentinel as we type, everyone! While I'm working on it I'd like to request some of you think of heroes or characters who'd join or be involved in the academy! I know the appeal of wanting to app a character who can do so much and has an established history, but don't forget that part of the fun of an AU (at least in my eyes) is seeing how differently things can go for a character in it! Anyway, remember that the sunlight academy is supposed to have a student body and help train heroes how to be better in many scenarios!

    Superhero Name: Lady Adventure

Powers: None. None at all, though her absurd luck borders on the supernatural. Adventure uses a revolving door of gadgets both magical and technological in origin which she has found on her journeys, seemingly having the right tool for the right job most of the time. Of course she can't be prepared for everything, but has marvelous- exceptional- levels of improvisation and an uncanny ability to think on the fly. Her fragile grip on the dangerous nature of actions comes across as outrageous bravery and affords her a degree of mental protection. Hard to control a mind already so heavily deluded. Her knowledge of traps and ancient civilizations is rarely equaled, and her constant physical activity puts her at near peak athleticism for a pegasus.

Background: Pathfinder was the only daughter of a traveling pair of trick flying pegasi who went missing in the Badlands, sending her to the orphanage in Cloudsdale. There she felt lost and confused, having lost the one dependable thing in her life, until she found out the greatness and glory of Daring Do. These series of novels filled the gap where there were holes and acted as an adhesive that kept her together whee other fillies broke down. Of course what seemed like a wonderful salve would prove to be a life-defining passion, and perhaps madness, as she became obsessed with the adventurer heroine. After saving a colt and earning her cutie mark, she traveled the globe looking for adventure. These adventures put her up against some fierce and dangerous villains looking for powerful relics, and her ability to defeat them through sheer guts soon earned her the name "Lady Adventure".

Alias: Pathfinder, Daring Do Fanclub President!

Notable Allies: The White Windigo, with whom she is in a steamy relationship!

Notable Villains: The Many Aged One, Mares of Maredrid, the Dread Spirit, and the Soul Slug of Okeanos.

General Notability: She is not well known in the general populace, though her exploits are quickly earning her a name in communities concerns with ruins, relics, and adventuring.

This world needs more ponies like pathfinder... well more unpowered heroes. There's only room in any universe for one pathfinder. :P Approved!

Superhero/Supervillain Name: White Windigo (Snowfall). Her idea is a firmly kept secret, known only to a few close confidants. Not even her own mother knows.

Powers: She has no actual powers on her own but rather makes extensive use of an assortment of advanced technologies developed by her company, Northern Storm Industries. Chief among these is a magically powered machine inbuilt into her suit which exudes a thick white mist and absorbs all the heat in her surrounding area, quickly creating subzero temperatures. Her distinctive all white suit which covers her from head to tow is resistant to both heat and cold and even protects her from standard attacks. The boots on her forehooves have a temperature reducing device in them as well which can instantly freeze things she touches in solid ice. She also has knowledge of combat and survival acquired from her time spent in the Whitescar wilds.

Alias: When not acting at the White Windigo, Snowfall acts instead as the approachable yet dedicated CEO of Northern Storm Industries, a technology firm started by her father, Northern Storm. She is a celebrity within Stalliongrad, and known in several cities across Equestria.

Backstory: Snowfall is the only daughter born to celebrated self-made Stalliongrad businesspony Northern Storm and his wife Crystal Snowflake. From an early age she was pruned to succeed her father as head of the company, a fate she was not entirely accepting of due to her free spirit. When her father suddenly disappeared in her youth, the pressure increased for her still. Rather than face the expectations that she was suddenly being prematurely saddled with, she made the decision to fly off in pursuit of her father, following the trail deep into the northern snowlands. In time she lost said trail and the snow closed in on her and she was sure she was to meet her end buried there in the snow. That was when a spectral image, like that of the windigos who populated the Hearth's Warming stories appeared before her accompanied by a long sound. Captivated by what she saw, she found new strength and rushed ahead in the direction of the spectral shape, only for it to dissipate in an instant. Moments later, she was unconscious. When she awoke, it was in the fortress dungeon of a vile wizard in the Southern Wilds of Whitescar. Twisted and evil, the wizard and his followers had been kidnapping whole wandering parties across the north for some time. There in the dungeons, Snowfall was reunited with her father, though he was weak from years spent as a prisoner. As the days passed, he grew weaker still until, on his deathbed, he told Snowfall of the deep pride he had for what he had built in Stalliongrad and how much the city meant to him and made her promise she would do everything to protect it. Her father had always been cold to her in her youth, saddling her with so much expectation that she had always resented him to some extent, but as he went on, telling her not just of his beloved city, but of how proud he was of her, she was overcome with emotion and inspiration. Shortly after he passed, she steeled herself to escape from her situation and return to Stalliongrad so she could make good by her father's wishes. She found her opportunity in manipulating some of the more hapless henchponies of the wizard and made her escape from the fortress. Escaping the wilds would be more difficult still, however. Attempts to fly through the constant blizzard conditions were impossible and there were dangerously beasts intent to eat her beyond every drift. Frustration set in at how despite her ordeal and her escape, nothing had changed. That was until a party of caribou warriors came to her rescue against a ferocious wyrm. As she watched them fight and slay the creature, she was awed by their strength in combat. She asked that they take her under their wing and teach her to fight and become someone stronger. Amused by the idea, the caribou agreed. At first she was a game to them, but in time, she learned how to fight with a warrior's spirit. After three years spent with the caribou, however, Snowfall knew it was time to return home and do what she had to for the city she had sworn to protect. Once there, she was at first unsure what to do aside from reclaiming her title as head of her company. Then it occurred to her that, despite not having any special powers naturally she could still act as a hero like those who did if she made use of her company's technology. So was born the White Windigo, using the motif of the feared creature of legend, Snowfall began to improve her city on two levels as a beacon of progress for her company and as a hero rooting out criminal sorts in the street. Years later, few are more feared by the unlawful in her city than she.

    Notable Allies:

Notable Enemies: The Dark Wizard Cyprianus, a number of criminals, costumed and otherwise in Stalliongrad.

General Notability: In Stalliongrad, she is quite esteemed and feared, having been established as a hero for quite some time. Elsewhere in Equestria, she would be more obscure. In general, Snowfall is more well known in her civilian identity than her superhero one.

Ooooh! Very detailed and interesting background. I can't wait to see the White Windigo in action! Approved!

    Superhero Name: Lightbringer

Powers: She uses light-based powers that could be mistaken for holy magic. She mostly uses it to boost her attack or defense, but she has also discovered limited healing and ranged abilities as well. On top of it she wields a large hammer and wears plate armor.

Alias: Dolor. She is very casual about the secret, the hero name more of a title to her than anything.

Backstory: Dolor's life was a simple one while she was growing up, the warriors of her tribe keeping things relatively safe. She became a warrior herself, and discovered her powers during the training. Using these powers, she helped to bring even more peace to her tribe, earning her various honors including the title she carries with her. Unfortunately, it wouldn't last, as a rival tribe sent their own powered warrior in under cover of darkness who managed to injure many of her tribe including her parents before being driven off. Swearing vengeance, the Minotaur set out in search of the shadowy bull that had harmed her family.

    Notable Allies:

Notable Enemies: Deathdealer, the bull she had sworn to bring to justice.

General Notability: Largely unknown due to her past and the fact she moves around so much in search of her foe.

Here's a question. Did the Rainboom as we know it happen?

A good question, I've given it some thought. whoever apps dash can say whether or not they wanted that event to occur in a way similar to her powers awakening or if it can be a special move she does. However if you want it to have affected the other mane six or any other ponies in a way like the mainstream continuity should be run by those you wish it to have affected first, be it mane six or not.

I'm open to feedback on this notion so if those who are interested would like it to be similar to the continuity have a good way to implement it, I'm amenable to that.

    Superhero/Supervillain Name: Applejack, The Equestrian

Powers: Applejack has super-Equestrian strength, speed, and endurance. Her brain processes information with phenomenal speed and she has reflexes to match. She was trained by her father and mother in hoof to hoof combat as well as in the use of her enchanted weapons. Her costume is made up of specially constructed and enchanted particles formed together from the aether as well as the rare elements her father discovered that gave it enormous protective qualities while remaining lightweight and breezy. She uses an enchanted lasso that can use any of the basic elemental powers to inflict damage, but compel the one lasso'd to speak the truth, and is unbreakable. She can also use a small buckler her father made that can absorb massive energy blasts, and her hat is made up of the same material as her costume, enabling it to be used as a deadly thrown weapon. She has an indomitable force of will and has broken attempts at brainwashing her, and is exceptionally well trained and has mastered over one-hundred and sixteen styles of combat.

Alias: None- known as Applejack at all times.

Backstory: Applejack was born to two superheroes, the Steel Stallion and Mistress Equestria, who was herself a member of the Apple family. From an early age she obviously inherited her mother's superpowers and her parents went to a great deal of effort to help her learn and harness them. Right after she earned her cutie mark for her help around the farm- even superheroes can still be farmers- she was sent to the Academy to be trained further. Everything was going well until Applejack learned her parents had been killed. They were following the trail of kidnapped Ponyville ponies when they ran into a trap sprung by the Mad Mercenary herself, Sachadara. They managed to save the kidnappes ponies, but at the cost of their own lives. Applejack returned home and ws overcom with grief and anger, blaming the Academy for her absence, convinced she could have saved her parents had she not been sent away. In moruning she traveled the farm, discovering her father's hidden workshop and investigating it. There she found a message from him to be heard only if passed away. Listening to it, she came to terms with their passing and resolved herself to take the place of her parents as the defender of Ponyville, and all of Equestria if needs be.

    Notable Allies: Apples (once app'd)

Notable Enemies: Sachadara, the Mad Mercenary responsible for the deaths of more than a few heroes and the corruption of a multitude more. The Everfree Avenger, a Deer who wants to extend the Everfree to all the corners of the world. General Blindside, a corrupt military official whose true identity remains a secret. WRAITH, an organization whose goals elude Applejack but with whom she has tussled several times. Formerly fought the Demomare, and was responsible for her defeat.

General Notability: Applejack is one of the better known public heroes, with a large following among Empowered and Non-Empowered alike. She stands for Truth, Justice, and the Equestrian Way, and is admired for her humility outside of her role as superhero.

Quite an interesting take on Applejack. I'll be looking forward to seeing her in action along side the hopefully soon be app'd other members of this universe's mane six.

    Superhero/Supervillain Name: The Shifter.

Powers: Lilly can change her form and become anything she has either studied extensively or touched. She becomes whatever she wants and can remain so for that time. Can instantly change back, and can turn into otherwise inanimate objects as well. In the forms she turns into, Shifter has imperfect memory recall and personality masking; sometimes she can perfectly mimic someone's personality and has all their memories, other times, not so much. Can mimic to a minor degree the powers of those she shifts into, though never at a high level.

Alias: Gilded Lilly, school-filly attending the academy as part of an outreach program from her non-Empowered Academy to this one. s as a hero, or is she open about her heroism.

Backstory: Valen Orange was a city colt given to helping ponies in need through acts of kindness and time spent working for the benefit of the poor, much to the chagrin of nopony. This charitable nature would catch the eye of a group of low-lives, who decided to kidnap the young colt. Before he could be found or his parents could pay the ransom, a third party involved itself and purchased the young colt. Valen was taken by a group of rogue scientists seeking to create Empowered through the magic of science. For weeks he was experimented on until they found a breakthrough on others using a highly unstable aetheral-deconstruction mechanism. Using it on Valen however, they accidentally tore the young colt down on a molecular and magical level, removing him physically from existence. What they didn't know is that he existed in the aether, and over several weeks regained his senses and found that by studying one of the scientists, he was able to finally take his form. Utilizing his knowledge and form he led a breakout. It was successful, but the scientists managed to harm a few others with the deconstruction mechanism. He was saved by a street filly named Gilded, and as he made his escape he took her form as a form of remembrance as the real Gilded Lilly was destroyed by the mechanism. He was unable to turn back into his normal self, and quickly sought the aid of the Academy.

Notable Allies: (Unless someone has already applied for a character, leave blank until others app, and then see about adding people)

Notable Personal Villains: The Institute, a group of mad scientists dedicated to the Greater Good through Science and Empowerment...no matter the cost.

Shifter has been approved! Let's see what kind of adventures he will have! ;)

  22. World of Equestria: Age of heroes.

Even before the founding and golden age of Equestria… there have been creatures with curious abilities beyond the norm. Some creatures able to jump tall building in a single bound, others could fire powerful bursts of energy from their eyes… and that’s not counting the even stranger things other have been shown to be able to do. One hero has stood above many others of her age, that of the Sun Sentinel. A mysterious mare who has protected the world from evils from the past many times over… but legends say that when she first appeared and began her rise as the symbol of hope for Equestria and some lands beyond, that she had a partner. A mystifying mare who manipulated and was empowered by the moonlight as she was the same with the sunlight. The stories say that after years [of jealousy had built up], She turned on her sister and partner and attempted to take over the world. A long battle raged until Sunlight Sentinel emerged victorious… They’re fight on the namesake of the former Moonlit Knight (and then, Nightmare Moon) covered it in the equine profile pattern of craters until using some legendary spell, The Sentinel sealed her partner and bound her to the moon.

The scholars of myth say that this event is what caused the Sentinel to form her group of heroes and began a campaign to work with the government of Equestria to form the Sunlight academy: a school to teach the empowered individuals who desired it to learn how to use their powers well or for some, how to control them and to use them constructively. Over time, the school grew and grew until it became almost the size of a large town… in the current day it is a gigantic facility with the Lair of the Sunlight sentinel hovering high above it.

Myths became a reality however after the night of Nightmare Moon’s return. A group of six heroes in the area of Ponyville: where the mare in the moon made her return. Together six solo heroes who had been fighting over the territory of Ponyville worked together to locate the magic used to seal her and instead used it to cleanse her of whatever evil had corrupted her. Although after using these elements, they dissipated and disappeared…

That night left a mark on Equestria as all across the continent many heroes began springing up, some with no powers beyond their talents, others more so. But one thing has become clear: The age of heroes has only been emboldened by the return of the Moonlit Knight.

While the government of Equestria has put her on trial… she has been sentenced to a type of community service in which she must now teach the new age of heroes. A roll she has taken to with Gusto along with her sister, her first act being to announce an initiative to allow villains who wish to turn over a new leaf to apply to the academy.

(For those wondering what the content of this AU is supposed to be rated; think somewhere along the lines of the marvel cinematic universe, The justice league animated series, sky high ... and maybe my hero academia:P)

    Notable Figures

    The Sister Heroes

Because of the important nature and weight these characters have on world I'm going to have to ask those who app them to work with me on what the backstory for them will be and about some aspects of this universe's lore is most likely to affect them.

    Sunlight Sentinel (Celestia):

The sun themed exemplar and top heroine of the modern age and for the last thousand years. Her place in the world is now more a symbol of hope and peace for all creatures to strive for. In the past she had worked alongside her sister as the two most influential heroes of the age. Moonlit Knight turned on her out of jealousy (and possibly more). She has not chosen anyone as her personal protege but is looking for someone she believes could fit her type of mold once she has passed, not even the sun can last forever.

The issues she faces is a mix of just how much she should use her powers to influence the world and also where to use them. In a world full of super villains it is not possible for even her to stop all of them, this is why she formed her school:To teach another generation of heroes how to use their powers wisely and for the greater good. Usually the only things that warrant her intervention are the appearances of immensely powerful villains of a world ending nature but often is able to stop crimes wherever she is while in canterlot so long as there’s no one else who can help.

Due to her not taking up the role of rule in this universe, the old method of sunraising is still done by several skilled unicorn mages in Equestria.

Her role as a mentor is stretched to the entire student body and she is often immensely protective of all of them.

    Known Powers.

Solar energy manipulation and empowerment: Due to her nature and sun theme, Celestia does not control the sun itself but serves as a generator of powerful solar energy which manifests strongest during the day. Her powers allow her to use the sun’s energy to strengthen her abilities so that not only her magic but her physical capabilities allow her to hold her own in fights with the hardest hitting non magical bruises, her speed and reflexes have allowed her to keep up with (or be a bit slower) than even the fastest speedsters in Equestria and beyond. While her powers are impressive and potentially the strongest out of all heroes of the modern age, she is significantly weaker when cut from contact from the direct sunlight.

    Secret identity:

    N/A

Thanks to her powers and alicorn status… and incredible height, Celestia has become fully invested in her persona is rarely seen out of costume.

    Moonlit Knight (Luna):

    Status: Appable

The heroine turned villain turned heroine again. A contentious figure for this age, having grown in a tougher world than the one the modern ponies and creatures know, she has been hardened. While less… warm than her sister she is once more on the side of justice and eager to prove it to all who may doubt her. Unlike her sister who has had a thousand years worth of experience in crime fighting Luna has had considerably less but still enough to be a respected authority.

    Known powers:

In fitting with her lunar theme, The Moonlit Knight’s abilities are based around the night and moonlight. Due to not having trained and honed them to the same lever her sister has (as well as being out of practice for a thousand years) Her ability to empower herself with the moon’s light is comparatively immensely weaker, despite this she has proven to be able to manipulate it to the point she is able to create constructs made of it to fight on her behalf, her conjuring abilities being second to none in this particular category. Unlike her sister who is always at her strongest during the day, Luna’s powers draw upon the moon’s phases and are strongest when it is full in the sky, and weakest when it has reached the new phase.

    Secret identity: Optional

Luna while tall and still rather recognizable, thanks to her isolated area when she was cleansed the look of the Knight under her armor is still safe. It is entirely possible for her to go out and meet others if she so wishes.

The Mane six (group title still unchosen)

The mane six are all available to be apped and you are free to have them have whatever backstory and powers you wish so long as you don’t step on your fellow teammates toes. There are some conditions you’ll have to abide by if you wish to play them however:

If you wish to play a member of the mane six their relationship with other characters in canon continuity will likely be different, one of the biggest differences will likely be that whoever apps Twilight Sparkle will not be The Sunlight Sentinel’s ward, protege, or whatever variation on that idea is as the sentinel has lived long enough and is aware she cannot show favoritism amongst a large body of students in such a way as she is working to be a role model for all creatures.

Another condition is that seeing as the backstory and opening concept for this AU requires the mane six having actually been heroes who were originally against each other working in their territories but joined up to work together for the better of their town. It’s not likely they would have have a had a particularly close friendship (at least not in their costumed identities) However after the events of nightmare moons return and reformation, you’re free to take them in any direction you wish within reason.

    Government figures

Since the two sisters didn’t take the role of raisers of the sun and moon and bringing of the day and night respectively, the current Equestrian government has several highly trained and powerful mages working to move the sun and moon  each day through the sky. The land is in a state of mixing but still divided. While Earth ponies, unicorns, and pegasi do often live amongst each other there are still worries and the occasional bout of xenophobia from old, darker thoughts , feelings, and traditions that haven’t died out as quickly yet. In this world it’s most likely a trio of elected representatives from each species of pony work to try and come to agreements over what should be done about issues their world faces… but all things are susceptible to corruption.

Technically the academy is run with the assistance of the council so many heroes have been worried about the effect it may have on the process of molding the heroes of the coming generation.

Thanks to the combined efforts of the three species of pony and the long time spent between them Magitech has mademany advances, prosthetics are advanced and some are more like superpwered in their own right if you can afford/make them. gadgeteer and inventor heroes have been very popular for a while now.

    Major Locations:

Sunlight Academy (in Canterlot) : The school of heroes and the empowered. Founded a thousand years ago by the Sunlight Sentinel herself, the academy has been (along with it’s founder) a beacon of hope to many an aspiring hero or empowered citizen: With the funding from the Equestrian government and the help of many scholars from across the land, it has experts in the fields of many of the powers that have appeared in the past.

The major program for the academy is it’s hero training program for empowered who have either proven to be capable heroes or those who wish to go there and learn of their powers with the assistance of professionals first after having taken a difficult series of tests if they are just starting out. Once a hero has been approved for application of the academy they are subject to many classes that the school offers for different power categories after the empowered individuals capabilities are analyzed. Training drills are done regularly and eventually heroes will be trusted for more dangerous work if they haven’t been in dangerous situations before

The other big program there  is the empowered acclimation program. This course is for Empowered individuals who are not interested in being heroes, so much as learning to come to grips with the powers they have and finding ways to fit back into regular society. Some of this is for practice to learn control for more dangerous and powerful individual’s capabilities, but most of it is meant for those whose powers can inconvenience or hinder them in their everyday life.

(at the time of writing this , these are the only areas that have a vaguely defined lore and even Ponyville is meant to be a flexible setting. Any locations, cities or towns in Equestria are fair game for any who wish to add their own superhero spin to each site… just don’t make everyplace all dark and gloomy, everyone! ;) )

    Ponyville:

A still growing, large, and well established settlement a good trip away , but still adjacent to the academy. Ponyville is a flexible setting with a few heroes still operating in , the most prominent of those there being a sextet of mares with differing powers, abilities, and personalities. All of them show potential to be great heroes… but since the events of Nightmare moon’s return, they’re competition for recognition from Equestria and beyond as great heroes is growing more and more difficult.

The biggest threats to Ponyville are regular attacks by creatures and oddities from the Everfree forest. What emerges from that place is rarely the same and always seems to have some strange abilities or method to give the local heroes a run for their bits.

    Application Rules and form:

    Superhero/Supervillain Name:

What does your character go by? Does she even have a secret identity if so, how secretive. Has she told her friends or family or is she constantly hiding it?

Powers: What power(s) does your character have? Remember that ponies aren’t the only species with abnormal abilities, griffins, deer, even regular horses occasionally show incredible powers. How potent are you characters power, remember to ask yourself: “is this too much?” Remember not every hero needs to be able to do everything. While there are those who have incredibly potent abilities, they often have secondary abilities to allow their bodies to handle them. Some heroes (especially the young ones) have been shown to have incredible potential based on the category their powers fall into and even some truly niche abilities can become very useful if the wielder of them knows how to use them and has some creativity. If your character has the kind of power that lets them make it on their own… that is fine but if possible make sure to rein yourself in a bit as regardless of how good a heroes draw was in the superpower lottery it can only do so much against those with experience in fighting and the knowledge of how to best use their gifts.

Alias:(If applicable) who are they? How does your character act when out of the tights (or whatever their costume of choice is). Does she really even want to hide her status as a hero, or is she open about her heroism.

Backstory: What brought your hero to where they are? What is their origin? Who were they before they chose this life? The limits to how strange you can get with the backstory is mostly your imagination tempered with the idea of balance and reason so your character isn't overpowered. If you want to make a robotic mare who was built in the labs of a secret magitech facility... than go right ahead!

Notable Allies: (Unless someone has already applied for a character, leave blank until others app, and then see about adding people)

    Notable Personal Villains:

If your hero is just starting out then feel free to leave this area blank, but if they have some measure of experience it’s possible they’ve gotten to meet a costumed villain or rival who has been a thorn in their side or a repeating villain for them for a time. Usually these are types with powers opposing your oc but feel free to get creative!

    General Notability:

How do other types of heroes often look upon yours. How do they affect those that see their antics? Do they have a small fanclub? Or do they have a legion of admirers who cheer them on wherever they are? Basically, your heroes reputation and who has heard and how far their exploits have traveled. Would a hero based in Cloudsdale be heard about in Trottingham… maybe! Take into account how long your character has been working and the level of villain they fight generally and how they handle themselves when civilians are watching.
