I think it's almost finished. Making a few last second decisions mostly on his personality description and gear.

Roleplay Type: Canterlot Chronicles Name: Gilded Legacy Sex: Male Age: Stallion Species: Earth Pony Eye colour: Light burnished gold Coat: Dark Teal, lightening in shade on the muzzle and legs. Mane/Tail/Other: Both light burnished gold. His parted mane and tail are very finely groomed to be crisp, lush, and free flowing like golden thread. Gilded has a partially torn ear from a work related incident, has hidden scars across his left shoulder and forelock, and wears a steel heart shaped locket that he made himself with a photo of his family together inside it. Physique: A bit taller than average, thin, lithe, and quite tough. Gilded may act like a shy noble pony, but he is remarkably stronger and faster than he lets on. Origin/Residence: Originally born in Hoofington and has family still living there. But now Gilded drifts from place to place, solving problems that he comes across along the way. Occupation: Adventurer, blacksmith, or traveling delivery and handypony for hire. Gilded is also a disaster relief volunteer and charity worker on the side. Cutie Mark: Three, four-pointed stars with a metallic sheen in a triangular formation, and a ribbon that is the same golden color as his mane is laced in the shape of a heart in the center of the stars. The golden heart shaped ribbon symbolizes his talent of actively inspiring hope, charity, and love. The three steel stars represent immense diligence and tenacity, driving him to carry on a task to it's end regardless of whatever challenges or distractions assail him. Unique Traits: Gilded is a trained blacksmith, ground based deliverypony, and handypony. As such, he has a diverse skill set, both for survival and repair purposes, which, topped with a higher class education and years upon years of job experience (Including being shot at and galloping for his life, and using quick thinking to overcome danger) makes him a very versatile asset. He is also fairly knowledgeable of plant and animal life, being the nature lover that he is. His usual traveling gear are as follows. Steel plate leggings - Thick angular solid steel plates rigidly buckled on his legs and plated horseshoes for protection on the road. Gilded typically uses the shoes as improvised hammers. Protective vest - A worn brown vest with sizable pockets, made from a dense and durable canvas material. Gilded's wallet and bits are tucked safely within the inner pockets of it. Saddlebag - An ordinary twin bag travel pack tied around securely by a belt, for storing rations, camp supplies, tools, metal molds, and literature of interest for his long journeys. Transport cart - A cart with the Gilded's family trade company brand name stamped into the lightweight metallic alloy exterior of it. It has brake locks to compensate on inclines, it is stainless, and can handle harsh weather conditions. The brake locks were also magically enchanted by Soulful Eyes to only operate for Gilded, making it far more difficult to steal. If looked at closely enough though one can see the signs of hardship the cart has been through. From Diamond Dog highwaymen, to spellslinging unicorn outlaws, to unruly beasts, it has seen it all. History: Gilded Legacy's life would begin as an eldest son born on a misty morn, in a hospital near the peaceful sea docks of Hoofington into a what would become a prestigious mercantile class family; To a outgoing ship merchant, a lesser noble unicorn mare by the name of Serenity Waves, and a esteemed metal artisan, an orphan earth pony stallion named Legacy. Gilded for the most part was a quiet newborn foal, aptly named for the golden color of his mane and tail, and his father's name was added on. For the first couple of years he would be their only and lonely son. But the parents then had two more foals, two unicorn daughters who would change everything for him. Soulful Eyes the coy competitive sister, and Sunlit Dew the chirpy sweetheart. That's when life suddenly became exciting for Gilded, or so he was told, constantly he was overly curious and thoughtful about the pair even at such a young age. The sensitive foal would take care of the two younger sibilings as best as he possibly could. Serenity and Legacy on the other hoof raised them to be upright and hard-working ponies, while either establishing future business together or donating to orphanges and charities. Sometimes it was difficult, since a lot of this business depended on investments, yet with enough effort they managed to pull through. The three foals grew up together fondly and became practically inseparable, going on imaginatively adorable garden, rug, book, and box exploring adventures one might expect from foals. Later as they turned older these made up exploits would change to quests about the pristine port town for their cutie marks as they danced and played together, as opportunities arose to help others and the environmental community of Hoofington. They also became captivated fans of some popular adventure novels and music at the time, and Gilded discovered himself to be a bit of a natural storyteller. Gilded continued to live a relatively easygoing life with his two sisters, being that the colt could lightheartedly shrug off any insult or threat, and safeguarded the fillies as their older brother. Meanwhile, Serenity and Legacy meticulously mentored the three about their professions inbetween grade school and private classes. The three offspring absorbed whatever teachings they could, but it turned out however that they started to actually earn their cutie marks. ...Except for Gilded that is, who was still a blank flank, unlike his younger sisters who knew exactly what they were gifted in. Sunlit Dew would become a successful hairdresser and herbalist, and Soulful Eyes would study into the mystic arts of enchanting at Canterlot in Celestia's school for Gifted Unicorns. The colt thought he would be seperated, overshadowed, and left behind being just an ordinary earth pony. His sisters stayed close though, much closer than he'd ever realized. But he was blind to it back then, selfishly worried about his own future. For months Gilded steadily lost the desire to leave his comfort zone, so much that Serenity and Legacy started to worry about him. Soulful Eyes and Sunlit Dew then came in one day and quite literally dragged him out to have fun like they used to. Sadly Gilded was withdrawn, tiredly going through the motions as if devoid of the boundless inner strength his spirit once posessed so abundantly. Unfortunately an accident at the docks occurred as the three were reminiscing and looking out to the sea together. A huge crate fell down from a ship being loaded nearby, which Sunlit Dew spotted before shoving Soulful Eyes and Gilded Legacy out of the way of it. But, in doing so, her left back leg was halfway crushed beneath it. Help immediately came, emergency dispatch arrived to pry her free and took Sunlit Dew away to surgery. Needless to say, the entire family came to visit and stayed often, but Gilded remained by her side as much as he could. He encouraged his distraught sister everyday to hold onto her dreams. Gilded read her stories, he drew her pictures, he crafted trinkets and gifts for her, he let Sunlit teach him about hairdressing and herbs to entertain her, and more...After about roughly a year spent in recovery and rehabilitation, Sunlit Dew was released. She emerged, and despite having a prosthetic lower hind leg, the filly was just as cheerful as she had always been before. When Gilded saw this and was pulled into a loving group hug with his family, he shed tears of joy seeing their happiness, barely feeling the twinge upon his flank as his cutie mark appeared. From that point on Gilded knew his destiny, to be an inspiration to everypony, no matter what. Gilded took every chance he could to excel after that and participated in numerous charity functions, including working in soup kitchens and assisting food drives. As he grew older, he strengthened his physical being through many strenuous years of tending orchards, hauling heavily loaded carts of timber for ship construction or the like, and extensive job training alongside his father and mother. Later on during one of his sister's visits from Canterlot, Soulful Eyes found use of her magical expertise in harnessing and examining the intricacies of enchantments upon select items, and with her ongoing assistance and connections the family's local trade company flourished significantly. Sunlit Dew contributed as well, through sharing her understanding of obscure herbal remedies and alchemical ingredients. Eventually Gilded Legacy grew up into the fine stallion that he is to this day. He now travels far and wide as a representative of the family's small yet highly respected collaborative business enterprise, and is a kind hearted wanderer of a myriad of mundane skills and experiences on a journey of self-discovery. When possible Gilded continues to meet with his family and consistently writes letters between them during his travels, as he shares tales of his own ever growing legacy. Character Summary: Personality: Gilded Legacy is a vastly patient, altruistic, empathic, dependable, and modest earth pony that admires the laughter and happiness of others with the faintest of sincere smiles. It seems nigh impossible to visibly offend or anger him at all short of somepony being attacked and he cannot ignore suffering, as he responds with overwhelming concern and urgency. He is one that is strangely content with having almost nothing, yet somehow has the financial know how equivalent of a business entrepreneur. This comes from an advanced maturity and an artistic mind focused solely upon his needs and the needs of those around him. However his weary golden eyes tell of an old soul that cherishes the little things in life, and a willingness to protect those things with every single fiber of his being. That cunning old soul within is jovial and affectionate beyond words, and desires to break free from the jaded self-doubting shell that's formed over Gilded's heart. He is a daydreamer, for lack of a better word, since actual sleep rarely lasts long for him due to certain regretted memories that still haunt him. When he does dream however, he sees breathtaking landscapes and imagery. His behavior reflects these thoughts, in his practiced poise, his delicately mantained appearance, and his deeply soothing voice. For this reason also he enjoys delving into history and ancient lore through his own adventures and writing of others, the text painting the sights he seeks to experience first-hoof. Music or song accompanying his reading is a nice touch, specifically a classical instrument given a more lively tune. Stargazing and dancing are sort of quiet pleasures of his too, which he has always had because a lack of sleep and being one of a vivid imagination. Gilded once yearned for this kind of freedom in his youth, and now he lives it almost everyday while he can be helpful at the same time. Being manipulated in some form, witnessing abuse of another, or feeling useless bothers him awfully...Few things can stir his ire greater than those, if actually restrained even moreso. While quiet and reserved, Gilded is a wielder of untold amounts of spiritual courage, strength, and wisdom. He judges no pony, avoids the limelight and attention purely out of modesty, and tries to find the slightest glint of light in everything. He absolutely adores nature, beauty, creativity, simplicity, and laughter. He may gladly compliment or attempt to motivate others, but he would not want to boast of his own achievements or complain. Gilded would even settle for the dirtiest of menial labor if only to bring a genuine smile to somepony else, and would never give up trying or abandon them. His own motivations are simple and just; To better the world, to provide for the less fortunate, and to find inner peace. ...Essentially at the core of Gilded Legacy resides an especially powerful and resourceful intellect armed with an acute sense of forethought, tempered both by the knowledge of a pair of shrewd world travelled business ponies and nurtured by the virtues of an endearing family. With duty in mind, he strives to improve himself to amend for past mistakes, and to be able to bring hope for those he meets in the future. Perhaps he is naive, perhaps gullible even, but a true friend he will always try his best to be. Flaws: Because of his idealistic characteristics, Gilded has many flaws. Notably he lacks in self-confidence to the point of coming across as rather timid or emotional, he can be overly cautious, he has no real ambitions, and he is often absent minded. He is also terribly skittish, being an extremely light sleeper and easily startled by sudden noises or movements happening around him after seeing Sunlit Dew truamatically hurt long ago, and from dealing with more than a few set backs while delivering goods throughout Equestria. Vanity is a minor issue that sometimes hinders him in terms of really disgusting things, but if pressured, it becomes negligible as he tries to put on his best awkward grin possible while enduring whatever it is. The most deterimental flaw Gilded has sadly is that he fears the weight of responsibility and judgement, a result of a carefree lifestyle with little expectations or desire of reward. Lastly, Gilded Legacy usually has to put overtime into his jobs to make some extra bits, which he stockplies for emergencies to support his selfless habits. Adventuring and delivery work away from the safety of the main roads can be dangerous too, which he skims over when discussing about such topics with his overprotective family. It would only cause them grief, or so he believes. That, above all else, guilts and tires him more than he would ever care to admit.

^^ Heya all, just stopping by to say hi to everyone and say how much really like Canterlot. I spent the last two weeks or so reading here, and finding all of it awesome. I have about 3 years of online RP experience, but I've never tried a Pony RP before...It'll take time for me to adjust to the pace of such a lighthearted and lovely setting, but I'm sure I can manage to wrest a bit away from mechas, survival, and all that. As for me, I'm just a laid back sort of guy. I'm a fan of older mecha animes, other epic cartoons like Samurai Jack, tabletop gaming, beautiful artwork and writing, taking care of horses IRL, and of course MLP when FiM first came out. Well, that's it I suppose. ^^ Sooo, hope to make some cool friends soon!
