  1. Trax smirked before rushing forward, using his white colored wings and flying low to the ground, karate chopping down two undead, then landing in a flip to kick another into pieces. He followed up with swift jab at an undeads face, then sidestepping a slash from an axe before accurately landing a furry of punches on the undead soldier, back kicking the axe into the undead he’d hit in the face. Shade narrowed his eyes, that was half his undead in under ten seconds.
  2. Trax looked back at Leaf, eyeing her injured leg, “With Pleasure.” Shadow took a slight bow, then headed out, “Yes My Lord.” Later that night, Killjoy and Trax approached the Outpost. Trax now wearing a just a Calvary coat, with his hands all wrapped with black cloth. Having left his normal weaponry at home, He would use his hand to hand combat style, though now he couldn’t help wish he did bring his normal gear along. Trax glanced up, seeing the shadowy figure of the Necromancer, watching them with cursed violet eyes. “This reminds of that time in Neighpong, when faced that powerful Lich King, only took us thirty minutes. Think we can beat that?” He asked his comrade as he cracked his neck from side to side. Shade watched the two approach almost fearlessly, seeing them both so clearly with his natural night vision, he felt like he was seeing a glimpse of the past. Behind him, several floating orbs of swirling blood loomed in mid air. “I will guage their strength Master, leave it to me.” Around the Outpost itself, undead ponies began to rise and face the two approaching ponies.
  3. The Colonel steeled himself from giving away his own excitement at such a challenge, knowing his old friend and comrade could tell he was of a like mind, but Trax had to think about all of those under his command. “Private Leaf was attacked on route to us, this Necromancer gave her a message, also...” He tossed back to Killjoy the pendant Leaf was given, Luna’s own insignia with a stone made to resemble Nightmare Moons eye. “Princess Luna may be a target in their plan. The Batkin’s return presents a threat we have not seen for ages, and for the first time in a thousand years, we will be fighting on own soil. You weren’t able to take out this Batkin without risking him to observing your prowess, which tells me their Organization, consisting of their most powerful Brethren, still reigns. The first war with them lasted nearly ten years, but I know this time around, it will be much longer. We know for a fact we cannot afford to underestimate them, but now they know, they cannot afford to underestimate us.” Trax spoke while still looking at Leaf, then turned to face Killjoy, “A message has been sent back to Canterlot, the Equestrian Army is being mobilized as we speak. Captain, have the Platoon Leaders take charge of their soldiers, First Sergeant Shattershield will be in charge. Tonight, you and I will head to the outpost.” Shadow sat in meditation, his face creased in thought, then he opened his eyes. A minute later he entered the throne room, all of the Silent Fang members eyed him with curiosity. “My Lord, Shade has reported in, and with some interesting news. Our present to them was given and received, also, the Bloodline of Her still exists. Shade made brief contact with a Woman who greatly resembled Her, accompanied by two who resembled Lucifer Trax. Shade suspects they’ll take the outpost tonight.” Ally felt a rush of excitement flow through her body, her black heart beating like a drum at the mention of her longing rivalry, her body started to quiver with pleasure.
  4. “Batkin...” The two whispered in sync, their faces contorted in thought, recalling their history lessons durling Military school. Their own Ancestor’s battle tactics and strategies were taught and are still used today. Trax stood next to Leaf as she slept in the makeshift infirmary, she’d came to them wounded and exhausted, with fear in her eyes. Trax had them set up early, a few miles from their original end Destination. Leaf explained the run down from Killjoy, then showed him the pendant and what the Batkin told her. Trax felt a mix of excitement and caution stir within his gut, if the Batkin have returned, they were in for a full out War.
  5. Shade narrowed his eyes, recognizing excellent stratagem and tactics, this one would definitely pose a threat. Then his eyes opened in even more surprise, as the two ponies who attacked earlier, came into clear vision from gaps in the trees. More descendants of those who beat them many years ago? "This presses concern, if they are anything like their predecessors, our work may be cut out for us." He said briefly before vanishing in a black mist. Oakly and Kasey flanked Killjoys sides, "Who or what was that?" Kasey asked, Oakly frowned in thought, "Something tells me we barely saw half of what He's capable of, Necromancy, explosive magic, a form of magical telekinesis... He could probably go toe to toe with all our top Magic users." He spoke cautiously.
  6. Glad to have ya, things are still pretty slow here, kinda on a hiatus. A pause.
  7. Shade didn't react to her words, he had already noticed her resemblance from a thousand years ago, and considered this was something to report to Shadow and Maelstrom. Just like Her back then, She was already becoming just as much as a nuisance. The Skeletons streamed toward Killjoy with surprising speed, wielding swords and axes. Suddenly an arrow was stopped just a foot away from Shade on his right side, on his left, a knife was also stopped mid air. Shade pulled them close to examine, then glanced side to side, he turned the arrow and knife around then sent them back at their owner. With a twist. On both sides, explosions erupted from the tree line. Oakly pushed a tree branch off him, "Well that back fired, literally."
  8. Kasey tapped Oaklys shoulder and pointed to the top of the outpost, where a dark shape stood watching them. "Did ya bring the thing?" Oakly asked without taking his eyes off the figure, Kasey nodded and threw him a hollow staff with a larger tubed container. The figure looked down at the soldier mare as she stepped out, their hands lit up with a green and purple glow. On the grounds around the outpost, dozens of skeletons crawled up, wearing equestrian military armor. Oakly sighed with minor annoyance, "Necromancy, Black Magic, this one isn't any run of the mill magic user. Captain, their testing us." Kasey and Oakly nodded to each other and crisscrossed heading in opposite directions, sill keeping just inside the forest, to flank and provide cover. Shadow stirred in his sleep before opening an amber eye, "So it begins...."
  9. Ally shut her eyes half way as she remembered burrying a sword into the Womans chest, pinning her to the ground, the end to their drawn out vicious fight. Together they could have been dopple gangers, almost mirror images of each other, their eyes meeting in a moments pause. Ally had only ever told Caesar, that in that moment, she wished she could have saved the Woman. Turn her to their cause, and be together, because she saw herself in that Woman. "No Human will ever be like me, she was strong, but I am stonger." She got up and started out, "Im going to take a nap, wake me when I'm needed." Morning came quick, and with a deep red sky as the sun rose. Oakly yawned as he awoke, He glanced at Kasey who had the last watch, and then to Killjoy who he knew was already awake again or probably never slept. He rose quietly giving his arms a slight stretch, "I'm going to check on Red and Hobbs, back in a minute." He told them before slinking back into the forest. Half way to the tree, he picked up something was off, he paused to take in the surroundings, and then took a deep breath and exhaled solemnly. Oakly walked over to a tree and looked down behind it, there lay the unmoving body of Red, one of his own hatchets logded deep into his heart. Upon inspection of the tree where they hid, Oakly had to look away after seeing Hobbs hanging by his right caught in the tree, his own sword run through his chest. A few minutes later, Oakly came loudly through the undergrowth towards Kasey and Killjoy. Kasey looked back in shock, wondering why his brother was making so much noise, then went wide with rage. Oakly came up to them carrying Hobbs and Red on his back, then dropped them down as lightly as he could, "They know we're here, and they are well aware of who the stronger ones are. Hobbs and Red were killed so they couldn't raise an alarm." He said in a hushed angry tone. Kasey grit his teeth, "Simply put, they were seen as a nuisance and killed." Oakly nodded and glared at the outpost, "Whoever it is, they're good, and extremely dangerous. Captain, what should we do?"
  10. "Sheep Dog, My Lord, she was a Sheep dog, so the farmers call them. We are the wolves, cunning and fierce, stalking in the shadows as we prey on sheep." Ally corrected him, she herself felt an admiration for Her too, but only in the sense that She made Ally feel alive. Ally rested her head down as she recalled the bloody fight, "Her true beauty was in the fight, but in the end, there can only be one Blood Queen." Shade stood atop the outpost, concealed in his dark cloak, he narrwed his eyes in on the three soldiers posted at the edge of the forest a good 50 meters away from the outpost. He turned away and teleported inside, deciding he would test their resolve, their main force wouldn't arrive till morning.
  11. Shadow dipped his head in understanding, "Yes Lord Maelstrom." After Shadow and Caesar left, it was just Maelstrom and Ally. "I do hope her descendants are alive and just as strong, Her blood was by far the best tasting!" Ally cooed as she licked her lips seductively.
  12. "That's all I need Captain." Kasey whispered quickly before resting comfortably into his cloak and falling asleep almost instantly. Oakly starred at his brother in awe for moment, He could always fall asleep so fast, "How does he.... oh blast it, I'm going to check up on Red and Hobbs before I nod off." He said before slinking back into the forest. About 20 meters back, he found Red and Hobbs had situated themselves in a tree, comfortably still and on watch. After a leap and using his grey colored wings, Oakly joined them for a moment, insuring their understanding of the mission before landing back on the forest floor. He made his way back to Killjoy and Kasey, stealthily putting on his own dark green cloak and finding a place to rest against a nearby tree trunk. "Any idea who it might be Captain? The next land over is just individual cities controlled by individual self proclaimed Kings, we've never had problems with this border, why the trouble now?" "We own the Night, We are the Night!" The course of voices echoed around the room as the Silent Fang Members recited their chant. Ally smiled in satisfaction as the members dispersed, leaving just four of them alone. "You are an excellent Leader Lord Maelstrom, Necropolis chose well in his dying breath, may he rest in peace." She said smartly. Caesar prodded the floor with his foot angrily, "They were fewer, but those bloody Solar Warriors had more skill and smarts than we gave them credit. Led by that brute of woman, she took Necropolis from us, along with many of our brethren. We may have slaughtered them in the end, but we carry that victory with a heavy price." He voiced coldly, letting his frustration boil over. Shadow looked to the side guiltily, "We were tricked into that fight to begin with, the Legion was caught off guard by the Solar Army, the mastermind General Lucifer orchestrated the entire thing. He used our anger for vengeance to lure us away from the Legion, while all of us were preoccupied, Celestia managed to gain a new power and defeat our Queen. We underestimated them, we underestimated Lucifer, and Her. No doubt their lineages have been passed on, and if thats the case." Shadow glared up at Maelstrom, the anger was not for him, "If Lucifers bloodline is still alive today, and they are in a similar leadership, They are Mine to kill!" He added darkly. Ally moved a hand over a large scar on her left shoulder, "She was a tough one, but I put her down. I hope her descendant can put up a similar challenge, She made me feel so alive during Our fight." She reminisced softly out loud.
  13. The room was silent, content with his words. Black Star held back his anger with mildly contorted face of rage, due to the fact someof the members were snickering at his troubles. Black Star teleported away with the mare. Caesar nudged Shadow with a gleeful grin at Black Star being mocked again, Shadow smirked slightly, but still felt uneasy. Shades undying loyalty to him made even him uncomfortable sometimes, though he still paid respects to Maelstrom, Shade rarely took direct orders from him personally. Since he was almost always at Shadows side, and they worked very well together, they did many missions together. Shadow faced Maelstrom, "I will talk to him Lord, and insure his same loyalty to you and our cause." He told him intently. Ally sighed as she lay back down, "Since the majority of us present, let us go over the plan once more, to ensure understanding. Our End game, the return of our Mother and Queen, Nightmare Moon." As she finished, Caesar stepped forward, "First phase, establish a base of operations close to Equestria, complete." Shadow traced a number 2 on the floor with his foot, "Second phase, probe Equestria to test their defenses, learn their military in and out, find weaknesses to exploit. In progress."
  14. Shadow bowed his head acknowledgingly, "Of course Lord Maelstrom, by your command. Shade shouldn't have too much trouble with them, his magical prowress is second only to Black Star." As he finished, Black Star teleported in, a roughed up looking Batkin Woman lay shaking at his side. Ally lifted herself up in curiosity, "Speaking of the tumor." She said sarcastically. Black Star scoffed, "Very funny M'Lady. Pardon my intrusion, but I found this one attempting to run away with a few others, she was the only one to not resist. This is all I could find, as it has always been, The Silent Fang are true to the Cause." As he spoke, cloaked Batkin appeared from the shadows all around them, each bareing a silver fang clip on their cloaks. There were 24 remaining members of the original 42, including Maelstrom, Ally, Black Star, Shadow, Caesar, and Shade. Maelstrom was the fourth appointed Leader of the Silent Fang and Lord General of the Legion, his predecessors along with many of their brethren were slain during the War a thousand years ago. As the Silent Fang, they are the Elite of their kind, appointed, raised, and trained by Nightmare Moon Herself. To serve her in any way, they are her very Will manifested into a sharp blade, to strike down any who would stand in her way. At the last battle of the War, a small group of Solar Empire Soldiers led a last resort battle against the Silent Fang, after loosing one of their Leaders and a dozen of their brethren to these same Soldiers, the Silent Fang fought with a vengeance. In the end, the small group of Solar Soldiers were killed off, but at a price. The Silent Fang were reduced to 24, with their third leader dying from his wounds, and appointing Maelstrom as the Fourth Leader. Shortly after, Nightmare Moon was defeated and bannished to the Moon, and the Batkin forced into a retreat for their lives, with no way to defend against Celestia's newfound power. Shadow stepped forward, "Lord Maelstrom, did you doubt our Loyalty?" He asked with a small hint of challenge to his tone, stemming from his Pride as a Silent Fang member. There were few murmurs around the room as the others whispered their agreements to Shadows question, feeling a little betrayed by the thought of being considered as a traitor.
  15. Oakly and Kasey glanced at each other with mild smirks, Red and Hobbs exchanged glances of concern, they hadn't fought beside Killjoy yet and never thought they would. "Red, Hobbs, secure our rear, we can't risk them trying to flank or ambush us." The two young men nodded their agreement to Oaklys command and slunk back into the forest. Kasey put on his dark green cloak and wrapped himself up in it, "I'll take first shift if you and the Captain want to get some shut eye." Ally approached the throne and circled around to behind where a red couch sat patiently, she slumped onto it with moan of relief as she stretched out, "What kind of 'Domestic' issue? You honestly think our brethren would simply betray our cause? Our Queen of the Night gave us life and purpose, to reign supreme under an eternal Night, what else is there?" She asked nonchalantly. Before Maelstrom could answer, Shadow and Caesar entered the throne room, they approached Maelstrom and dipped their heads. "The outpost on the southern border has been secured, Shade is posted to maintain control, he has made sure our message is sent to the Capital. Also, it would seem Equestria has some sort of reaction force, theres a small group of soldiers doing reconnaissance on the outpost, Shade is awaiting further orders to their fate." Shadow reported obediently, his eyes glanced past Maelstrom to share an exchanging glare with Ally. Caesar smiled awkwardly as he waved to his twin sister, they didnt show it publicly, but the two were close. Caesar was the only one in the Legion to know Ally to a full extent.
  16. Hobbs shrunk back swallowing a big gulp of fear, "Yes Captain, it won't happen again." He said submissively. Leaf nodded and took off, she moved quickly but kept a moderately fast past so not to tire herself out too fast. Oakly looked back at the outpost, "It worries me, the outpost itself prevents large scale stealth, and there would be more damage and clearer signs of a struggle if it was a large raid. This had to be done by a small group, worst case scenario, one pony did all this alone." He thought out loud. Kasey closed his eyes but nodded in agreement, "If that's the case, we're dealing with a dangerous enemy. Not only do we know next to nothing about their identity, but we know they are capable of facing multiple opponents." He added in. Red peered in closer, "Some of those marks kind look like magic burns." In a short time, Leaf had already made it clear out of sight from the group, she took a big leap to clear a riverbed marking the border between a grassy plain and thick forest. Mid-air she realized her mistake to check ahead, she twisted her body in an attempt to dodge around a blast of lightning, the attack barely grazing her left leg. She landed in a clumsy roll among the long grass, her leg was stiff with numbness from the lightning. Leaf attemtped to stand but froze as she heard footsteps approach her and stop just a foot from her, she slowly tilted her head up to look, but she was not prepared for what stood before her. This man, had faded purple skin and long tipped ears, with eyes like a serpent. Leaf couldn't help but be mesmerized by the strange man’s dark violet eyes as they shimmered like amthyst gems, she was startled when he spoke in such a calm and nonthreatening tone. "Take this as well back to your commander, "He began as he levitated a small lunar pendent to her, "They will know what this means, because no matter how they prepare, it won't make a difference to what is to come." With that he teleported away. Leaf breathed with relief before looking at the pendent, it reminded her of Princess Luna's crest, but it looked more sinister. She gradually stood up and shook off her left legs numbness before continuing on across the grassland, this time with a more cautious awarness of her surroundings. Shadow finished his last glass of blood wine, he noticed an air of unease wove its way through the hall, quieting all the Batkin, "Caesar, it sounds like your dear sibling is awake." He said sternly. Caesar flickered his ears before drinking another glass, "With any luck, I won't be her quarry today." In the throne room, the doors opened up, letting in a beautiful Batkin Woman. Her smooth purple skin was mistreated with a few scars here and there, her long glossy maroon colored hair was braided and hung over her left shoulder, a pair of dazzling crimson eyes rested upon Maelstrom. "Shocking, I didn't think I'd see the day when you are without your attatched tumor. Speaking of whom, has Black Star finally grown independent?"
  17. Leaf was about to move when Hobbs stopped her, "Shouldn't we find out who's behind it first? We could be leading our Company into a trap." Oakly and Kasey glanced at each other, His concern was somewhat justified, but he still spoke out of place. Oakly made a split second decision, "He spoke out of place, but he speaks some sense, it could be a trap." He backed quietly. Kasey nodded in agreement, "Captain, a closer look may reveal the information we need for a more detailed report." As he spoke, Red perked up with excitement, "I saw someone! They just walked into the outpost!" He declared in a loud whisper. Oakly turned his head quickly to barely catch a glimpse of movement inside the outpost, but not enough to make a clear description.
  18. "Yes My Lord, it shall be done. To defile you, is to renounce their blood." Black Star dipped his head and teleported away. Less than 30 minutes later, the squad was formed up at the ready just outside the front gate of Canterlot. All their packs were relatively small and light, packed only with the bare essentials. Oakly had a katana strapped to his left side, Kasey had two sabres strapped to his, both had their armor littered with throwing knives. Hobbs was a magic user with a simple short sword, Red proudly gave himself a light shake, rattling all his small hatchets sheathed to his body. Being from Ponyville, he grew up on a lumber farm, hence his affinity for axes. Leaf sported a simple cutlass, with a dagger close to it. The five soldiers stood by, waiting for their Captain.
  19. Trax nodded to her before confering with the First Sergeant, discussing further planes of movement. Oakly turned to Killjoy after sharing words with Kasey and the others, to which they scattered off, "I've sent them off to gather their gear and travel ready supplies, we'll all meet up at the front gate, ready to start off." Black Star dipped his head graciously, "Yes My Lord, I understand completely." Shadow nodded to Shade, and the unicorn teleported away, "No doubt the Equestrians have re-fortified the outpost already, Shade will make quick work of them again, appearing as though they just left without saying a word. Leaving Leadership to be suspicious of it, or write it off as desertion." Caesar chuckled, "Whatever choice they make will help us determine their threat levels to plan accordingly, You are a cunning creature Shadow, deviously cunning."
  20. Colonel Nameless Trax stiffled a sly grin, as an old friend he would have greeted Killjoy otherwise, but in uniform it would be unprofessional. However it was Killjoy afterall. "Good to hear, cause you'll be leading a scouting party." He told her before he stepped back to adress the soldiers as they formed up in three platoons. Four rows deep, 11 across. A Senior Sergeant stood out in center front of each platoon, with a lieutenant at the back. Trax stood facing the three platoons with Killjoy at his right, and a brown rough looking man at his left, the rank on his heavy Equestrian armor marked him as a First Sergeant. "Last night, an outpost on the Southern border failed to report in. A runner was sent from a nearby Fort, but reported the outpost empty. Wether it was desertion, or an attack, we will follow protocol." Trax spoke clearly and with purpose, his eyes roamed across the platoons as he spoke, "Captain Killjoy will lead a scouting party ahead, leaving immediately after. Those going, will be Corporal Oakly, Specialist Kasey, Specialist Hobbs, Private Leaf, and Private Red." At their name, each stepped forward to fall in at Killjoys side. "Everyone else, start preparations to leave by mid-day. Dismissed!" At this he turned to Killjoy, "Proceed with caution, the nearby fort has already reposted the outpost, but the disappearance of the former guards is.... questionable. They'll probably be expecting you, but no formality has been sent. Send a runner to me once you learn something, I hear Private Leaf is quite good at long distances." He said nodding to the leather armored young woman, her short light green hair stood out against the black leather armor. "Take good care of them Captain. And Colts," He added leaning to the side to eye the twins, "Behave." Oakly and Kasey straightened up turning white with fear. As if on cue, Shadow stiffled a deep sigh of annoyance as a second Batkin followed, Black Star. The black armor clad man forced himself in the middle of the group, his light blue and green eyes had a certain arrogance to them, his long black hair tied up in multiple knots leading back down to his neck. "You may be part of the Silent Fang, but even you will heed our Lords orders." He told them cockily. Caesar chuckled, "Of course, but, what does that make you? The Lords flank wiper?" He snickered before sharing a laugh with Shadow. The third batkin tossed back his hood, revealing himself as Shade Locke, one of the most powerful magic users in the Vampire Legion, "The Lord is right though, our combined strength and prowess is what led to our victory." Black nodded at this, but knew Shades loyalty still belonged to Shadow, he just wasn't of the immature mind. "Shove off you half wits, The Lord recognizes my great talents, thats why I am always at his side." Black hissed angrily before hurring to catch up with his Lord. Shadow watched them go with narrowed eyes, "Shade, you took care of the outpost right?" Shade nodded in response, "Good, soon we'll have our fun."
  21. Oakly and Kasey exited their room, armored in black leather with steel plated shoulders and chest, their leg armor was a combo of leather padding and plated steel. Much lighter than the traditional Infantry armor, with more purpose towards quick movements and agile warfare. The Brothers carried wolf-like helmets, matching their armor, except Oakly's was painted blue while Kasey's was painted red. The two stood at attention and saluted their Captain as she passed by, instantly falling into line behind her, flanking her sides a few paces back. "What do you think Captain, another group of Raiders at our Eastern border again?" Kasey asked curiously. Outside on the parade field, stood a Man dressed in a more ceremonial fashioned silver and gold trimmed military coat, the collar was up covering half of the mans face as he looked out into the horizon of Equestria before him. Pins on his collar, black full bird eagles, marked him as a Colonel. He gave himself a shiver in the brisk morning air before turning around and watching as his soldiers made their way out to the parade field. His cold steel blue eyes glowed like their were lit by small sources of light from behind, adorned on his coat were scores of medals and ribbons, earned from his many years of service. His most prestigious of all, were the patches on his shoulders; His left bearing the creat of Princess Celestia, and on the right bore the crest of Princess Luna.
  22. A Thousand years ago, during the brief reign of Nightmare Moon, a race of humans was brought out from the shadows of Tartarus itself to combat enemies of the Night's Queen. Humans with unique qualities and characteristics of one of the Nights most famous creatures, Bats. These Batkin were found to be significantly superior to their Human cousins, with healing capabilities and a still unknown lifespan. The Solar Empire, led by Princess Celestia, were outmatched by these demon spawns as they waged a gruesome war for Equestria. A wound that would mean certain death for a regular human, was practically a scratch to a Batkin, unless their heart was pierced through. A Batkin's extreme healing factor was activated when they sucked the blood of a Human, henceforth Nightmare Moons Soldiers were called, The Vampire Legion. Although outmatched, The Solar Empire never gave up, their resourcefulness proved to be their greatest weapon against the Vampire Legion. In the end, they bought Princess Celestia a window of opportunity, to face Nightmare Moon and end the War. Their Plan worked, Nightmare Moon was vanished to the Moon, and without their Queen, The Vampire Legion withdrew from Equestria in fear of Princess Celestia's newfound power. For a thousand years, Batkin became a myth, a bedtime story told to children to keep them from getting into trouble. Now, Nightmare Moon's glorious return was cut short by the Elements of Harmony, and Princess Luna came back from the darkness to rule beside her elder Sister over Equestria. However, rumor had spread far of Nightmare Moons short return, and Luna's return to her former Glory. This rumor reached even the darkest caverns and deepest shadows, sparking a Black Flame that would soon threaten to engulf all of Equestria, and bring about the rise of one of it's Greatest Enemies. Present Time, 500 miles from Equestria's southern border, Province unknown. A lone guard rested upon the stone railing of a tall stone wall, which surrounded a large city, ruled by a rich pony who self proclaimed himself as a "king". The Guard, wearing banded iron armor and armed with a polearm weapon, drowsily made his rounds on his section of the wall. He stopped upon hearing a rustle on the stone just over the wall, he sighed thinking it to be another animal just being curious, but walked up to the railing to peer over. Without warning, something whizzed past his face and knocked his polearm from his right hand. He stepped back in shock, but froze with terror as he looked out into the blackness of the night. There, hundreds of striking yellow eyes starred up at him, horror gripped his breath and prevented him from calling out an alarm. Suddenly a shape flew past behind him, putting out all the torches around him. The Guard continued to step back slowly, but then stopped as he felt a presence behind him. Shakily and slowly, He turned his head to look, but what he saw made a cold shiver of fear crawl up his spine. A Man, but with dark purple bat wings and long tipped ears, and slit eyes like ambers stones. The Guards mouth opened to yell, but not a sound came out, the only sounds were steel cutting through flesh and two deathly thuds against the stone atop the wall. The Moonlight gleamed off the crimson liquid that flowed from the Guards lifeless body. Moments later, the entire wall went dark, and shrieks and screams erupted from within the city as it was overrun by fast dark shapes. The City's defense were helpless, and just as the noise started, it began to lessen until there was a deathly silence. The City was then plunged into absolute darkness. Early that morning, Canterlot, Equestria. Corporal Oakly Trax and Specialists Kasey Trax awoke to the loud banging on their bedroom door, and a strict deep voice yelling from outside, "Wake up you two! We have a mission, be ready for briefing in 1 hour!" footsteps signaled they had walked down a few meters before repeating the same thing to several other rooms. Oakly sat up scratching his head, his cold piercing blue eyes fluttered open a few times before he slunk out of bed to start getting dressed. Kasey groaned loudly before he too sat up and opened his light icy blue eyes to look out the window next to him, adjusting to the bright early morning sun, "A mission huh? Better not be another waste if our energies like last time." He mumbled grumpily before stretching his arms out. Oakly put his grey shirt on and remembered their last mission to the eastern border, where the Outpost had received a few bandit raids from the eastern flatlands, "Either way, we shouldn't get complacent, it can be the difference between life and death. Now come on, we gotta' make sure everyone else is getting up and ready." Southern Province, Ruined City. The Ruined City had minor scars of the invasion from last night, any and all evidence of the previous inhabitants. At the center of the city, stood a well sized castle, painted blotched crimson red. Inside the main hall, which was lit by hundreds of candles, three Batkin entered in conversation. "Alright alright, get this. So as I'm taking care of some guards, one tries to sneak up behind me, and spears me with a rusty spearhead. I tell you, this City had no chance of defending against us. After laughing my flank off, I feed off the one who speared me and then use the same spear to kill the rest, the looks of fear on their faces was priceless." Caesar Valentine chuckled amusingly. The Batkin man next to him, Shadowed Heart, smirked with a sly expression. "The Guard I took out on the wall seemed to act with some training, but was by no means fully trained soldier. I say we got lucky, finding a place so weakly defended." He said smoothly before stopping in the middle of the hall, Caesar and the other Batkin stopped as well. Readers Note: Batkin are a race of humans, created through Nightmare Moons dark magic, to serve Her every Desire. Their skin comes in various shades of purple, with long tipped ears and fangs. Where as a normal human magic user would have a diamond shaped mark upon their forehead, a Batkin would have a triangular shaped mark, both use magic from their hands. A human flyer would have wing markings on their back, when willfully activated, bird-like wings would appear like a magic aura upon their back. The color of the wings differ for each Human, based on personality. Batkin flyers all have this as well, with their wings being bat-like wings. Normal Humans without magic or flight, have a natural affinity for physical strength, same goes for Batkin.
  23. Right, already working on a Character for the cat species that Taye Diggs is the voice of, pretty hyped.
