[Ponyville] A Carriage from Canterlot {Open} [Attn: Sleeps]

A light breeze wafted through the carriage of a still napping Limelight as he and his entourage arrived through the eastern gates of quiet Ponyville. His chauffeur strengthened his grip on the brakes as the vehicle ground to a stop. Causing the carriage and following trailer to thump and creak with the sound of straining metal. Limelight shot up from his sleep flailing his head about “NO! That is not what I call an Arabesque…” His driver shook his head and gave a small chuckle “Uh…. Sorry sir, but we’re here.” Limelight ran his hooves over his eyes before looking out his closest window. “Oh…… eheh…… my bad, thanks Jeeves.” Limelight continued eyeing up the city the best he could; it was so…. quaint… so modest….. so…… undiscovered... it was exactly what he was looking for.

Jeeves made sure to park in a small area of open land just a bit far off from the town’s east entrance. Being that that was the closest location to Canterlot, it also conveniently was located near the local market area. Limelight knew he’d be comfortable.

The Stallion opened his door and hopped out of the vehicle, landing on his hooves with a soft “plop”. He stretched out for a few moments and ran a small comb through his hair before speaking again. “Alright Jeeves, I’ll leave you to take care of prep work and the like. I myself am famished; want me to pick you up anything? I’m not really sure what I’ll find, but I can definantly smell something yummy!” Jeeves gave a tight nod as he began working on Limelight’s trailer, unhitching it and prepping it for living use. Limelight was told that there was a housing problem in Ponyville before he left, so rather than hope to find an apartment, he’d just bring his own. The whole construct was a seamless gleaming white with the occasional mirror and Lime green decal. Even the Star on the front doorway was a crisp lime colour. Jeeves flipped a switch, and several steam powered gadgets sprang to life, propelling the sides of the mobile home outward, expanding its inside area.

“I’ll be done a little over an hour Limey, anything sweet you could find would be really appreciated.” With that, Limelight gave a nod and turned towards the town trotting at a casual pace. His vest fit snugly and properly across his torso, his coat freshly scrubbed the day prior, and his hair just re-styled moments ago. It wasn’t EXACTLY how he wished he looked, as he noticed a small yet unbeleivably annoying wrinkle on his vest, but it was the best he’d get for now. "I hope they don’t think I’m some stupid tourist…" The Stallion thought to himself, doing his best to fit in, as fabulously as possible.

Rarity wore a smile upon her face as she exited Sugarcube corner, a tray of freshly baked cupcakes on her back. Seeing Pinkie always put her in a good mood. Well, usually at least. Sometimes it lead to her searching her home endlessly for lost diamonds the pink pony had prophesied as being in her possession while playing fortune teller; other times were even worse, such as the never to be forgotten hoofcar ride out toward Dodge Junction. This had been a good meeting though, and she it had ended with her purchasing some rather delectable looking cupcakes that she was sure would delight her beloved little sister.

Exiting the familiar baked goods shop, Rarity continued on her way until she spied something rather striking. There, parked right at the edge of town square, was a somewhat gaudy looking trailer. The unicorn wasn't sure what to make of it. It resembled the sort of trailer a famous actor from Manehattan, Canterlot or Las Pegasus might use. It certainly didn't belong there on the street corner in a humble town like Ponyville. It stuck out like a sore hoof. Needless to say, it got the mare's full attention.

Rarity was a pony enamored with fame and high class. Even after such things had disappointed her, she remained so. The idea that somepony famous might have made their way to her quaint little town, was immediately exciting. She needed to play this right. If her experiences with the elites were anything to go on, they could be quite fickle. An actor was likely doubly so. She was determined to make a good impression here. Chances to interact with notable ponies did not come along every day, after all.

Scanning the areas around the trailer, Rarity searched for a pony who looked out of place. She found him almost immediately. He was unicorn wearing a fashionable vest with a freshly styled purple mane and an all too clean silver coat. He was trotting away from the trailer. Rarity nodded and tried to subdue her ever growing grin. She then trotted ahead casually, acting like she hadn't noticed him. When they had all but crossed paths, she made eye contact.

"Good day, sir," she said in a perhaps too polite voice. "I haven't seen you in Ponyville before? Are you new to town, perhaps?"

She grinned and bat her eyelashes. "I am Rarity, proprietor of the renowned Ponyville landmark, Carousel Boutique."

As he continued his casual trot , Limelight quickly noticed that his trailer was gathering a bit of attention. As several ponies were eyeballing it from afar, some confused, some excited, and others snickering lightly. He made a mental note to remember there faces should he ever meet them again. Several stuck out, as he wasn't used to seeing such a colorful variety, his own actor's being exceptions. He was rather used to the more familiar shades of Whites, grays, and blacks that many City folk were. It seemed Ponyville housed every color under the rainbow. "Interesting..." Limelight thought, he could really exploit the use of color and lighting on stafe with.

He thought about this for a brief moment till the smell of warm, sugary treats invaded his nostrils, he then shook himself out of his thought process and ended up face to face with a mare with an almost flawlessly white coat. Her appearance and closeness caught him slightly off guard, but then she spoke. "Good day, sir." She paused, "I haven't seen you in Ponyville before? Are you new to town, perhaps?" That was the last thing Spotlight wanted to hear, he didn't like being known as a tourist. However, the giant gleaming white trailer coach behind him didn't really serve his anonyminity. He did everything he could to avoid letting out a groan or sigh. Perhaps she didn't know who he actually was? He allowed that to be his current mindset for the time being. She Spoke again, "I am Rarity, proprietor of the renowned Ponyville landmark, Carousel Boutique." Limelight couldn't decide whether or not she was being flirtatious, or just trying to mark her territory. She didn't seem hostile, and definantly was an incredibly beautiful mare.

Limelight cracked a grin, one of which he had practiced many times in front of a mirror. "Oh you own a boutique! I might have to stop by sometime, there's nothing I love more than handmade high-fashion!" He made sure to wait a small moment before continuing, just to remain in eye contact. "Actually my fair lady..." He made extra care to accent the word "Fair", "I am a bit new here, so a buddy of mine and I had just stopped to settle in." Limelight, suddenly stopped, and broke eye-contact. He sniffed the air, his stomach giving a light unaudible rumble. "Excuse me miss...... but what is that wonderful smell?" It was a warm, heavy, and sugary aroma that made his knees go lightly weak. "I didn't know Ponyville was a leading authority on perfume..." Limelight said in a way hinting that maybe the mare herself smelled that way. However, he knew it was to wonderful of a smell to be bottled; all he knew is that whatever it was, it would be delicious.

Scootaloo was bored. Very, very bored. She couldn't seem to find the other Cutie Mark Crusaders and nobody wanted to play with her, which was incredibly aggravating. After all, Scootaloo usually spent her time alone or with friends. Today she felt surprisingly lonely, and no new ideas had sprung to mind about how to find her Cutie Mark. How was she supposed to figure out her special talent when nobody was willing to help her out?

Riding into town on her beloved scooter, Scoots felt no special sense of happiness like usual. The fact was, Scootaloo was in an incredibly sour mood. As much as she wanted to see somepony and have an enjoyable day, her ability to do so was fading fast. The things that usually seemed to cheer her up (music, her scooter, and her friends) just weren't doing the trick. It was time to try something new. Something she'd never tried before.

Scootaloo stopped for a second to think. What did every-pony else do when they were bored? She certainly wasn't going to bake or farm or do anything that involved, Celestia forbid, WORK. Work was boring! As she looked around, everybody seemed to be working or talking to people. Scootaloo really wasn't in the mood to just stand around and talk. She needed to move! She needed to get some action into her life! No, Scootaloo would have to think like a pegasus. A pegasus who...couldn't...fly.

Disheartened, Scootaloo stopped and took a seat on the pavement, kicking at a nearby rock with annoyance. Looking out at the Ponyville scene that stretched in front of her, she noticed a fancy trailer not too far away. How strange, why would such an elite pony visit Ponyville? Even Scootaloo could admit that it was nothing too special. And then she saw him, the rich pony who appeared to be in charge of the operation. He looked...pristine. Kind of perfect. Canterlot-esque and talking to none other than Miss Rarity, Sweetie Belle's sister! How Scootaloo would just like to mess up his hair and-

Scootaloo grinned deviously. She had the PERFECT idea, one that would definitely make her day more interesting. With that Scootaloo hoped back onto her pair of wheels and high-tailed out of that scene. It was time to get prepared!

Crash had just woken up from last night's sleep under a nearby tree. Crash was a wanderer, living wherever he felt like until moving somewhere else. He had stopped in ponyville on more then one occasion and knew the town well enough. He would usually stay in a hotel at night, but was very tired the day before and couldn't muster the will to go through the trouble. It wasn't like he was used to it, he'd slept outside under the stars plenty of times before. As he was rubbing the sand out of his eyes, he spotted a rather well maintained, if not a little strange looking carriage a few meters directly in front of him. "Huh, I'm pretty sure that wasn't there last night..." He said to himself. Crash had always held a fascination with wheeled transportation of all kinds, and he could see that the locals were taking interest as well. Never one to not comment on somepony else's ride, he got up, stretched a little and walked up to the pony waiting by the carriage whom he presumed to be the owner. "Hey" He said as he neared "Nice ride, is it yours?"

"Oh you own a boutique! I might have to stop by sometime, there's nothing I love more than handmade high-fashion!"

Rarity smiled at the reply she received. His firsts words to her were her confirmation. This was certainly not a stallion of common Ponyville stock.

"Actually my fair lady..."

The way he stressed the word "fair" made Rarity giggle coquettishly. Was this perhaps a charming gentlecolt? Not an entirely common thing, for even among the elite of the elite, for every Fancypants there was a Blueblood. Increasingly the mare was intrigued by this pony as she listened to him continue to speak.

"I am a bit new here, so a buddy of mine and I had just stopped to settle in."

The unicorn nodded along. At this point, it really went without saying that he was new to town, but Rarity was good to hear it directly from him. He had brought a friend too? Interesting. Did that mean there were two distinguished gentlecolts in town?

"Excuse me miss...... but what is that wonderful smell? I didn't know Ponyville was a leading authority on perfume..."

At these comments, Rarity had to blush. Perfume? Well, she did use only the best fragrances. For a simple stroll through town to Sugarcube Corner to buy cupcakes, she hadn't really bothered to apply anything too potent or exotic. No, clearly the only thing this stallion could be smelling was the overwhelming aroma of the fragrant and delectable fresh baked cakes she was carrying.

"Actually, I think it's probably these you're smelling," Rarity said, bringing the box of cupcakes out in front of her, so that the other unicorn could gazed at the pink-frosted cakes. "Fresh baked by one of my dearest friends, from Sugarcube Corner, Ponyville's award winning premier bakery."

After a paused, she nodded, figuring the right thing to do in the situation was to make an offer. After all, she wanted to get on this pony's good side, and he had taken an interest in the smell of the cakes. She smiled. "They're meant as a treat for my dearest sister, but I can guarantee you she won't miss one. If you'd like one, you're more than welcome to it."

~Jeeves~

The Stallion had only been working on setting up the mobile home for a small amount of time, however, thanks to much of the work being accomplished by steam power, it wasn't nearly as strenouos as he had expected. He was getting the work done much faster than he had predicted as well, all he had left to do was was mount the whole thing to keep it stationary, level it out, and hand Limelight the keys. Easy work, decent pay. Jeeves was in the process of finishing up the mounting process, as he only had one more crank to turn, when a rather unexpected colt appeared from seemingly nowhere."Hey" He said as he drew closer, Jeeves sized him up before the unknown colt spoke again. "Nice ride, is it yours?"

Jeeves gave a light chuckle to the question, "Oh my no sir, the carriage belong's to the company I work with; It's purely for rental use, as are my services. The Trailer behind me though belong's to that fellow over there." Said Jeeves as he raised a hoof in Limelight's direction. He then proceeded to wipe a small bead of sweat from his forehead. "Well, I better finish up, and head on back to Canterlot, I've got a few more customer's this week." Said Jeeves, as he began tightening the last screw. "I wish they all paid as well as he does though!" He said, giving a hearty laugh.

"Actually, I think it's probably these you're smelling,"

Said the snow white Unicorn as she pulled out a small sized box filled with delectable morsels of blush frosted cakes . The Stallion was resisting every urge of his body to inhale the aroma with every inch of his expansive lungs... but he didn't... as that would be unprofessional. So instead he let his mouth drop a small bit, they were miniature works of frosting covered art.

"Fresh baked by one of my dearest friends, from Sugarcube Corner, Ponyville's award winning premier bakery."

Limelight thought about what she said for a brief moment, although he was also preoccupied with maintaining the willpower not to gobble every little cake in sight. He succeeded. "You're friends with the Pony who makes these? I'd be lucky to ever meet a baker of such professionalism back in Canter-" The Stallion cut himself short, realizing his unmistakeable error. Though, she didn't seem to catch it, as she partially cut him off.

"They're meant as a treat for my dearest sister, but I can guarantee you she won't miss one. If you'd like one, you're more than welcome to it."

The Stallion was taken aback from her generousity. He wasn't really used to the concept of "Sharing" with strangers. The words she spoke actually made him feel a bit warm inside, he liked the feeling. Not to mention, she also said the words "Little Sister" Which made him immediatly think of his younger sister Stagefright, of whom he loved very much. He spoke "Well, miss, i'm very charmed by your offer, but I'm afraid I couldn't do such a thing. It's not of me to take from a lady." Said Limelight as he shook his head with a smile "Though... I was wondering, where is this "Sugarcube Corner"? My Chaeuffer and I are incredibly famished, so I was longing to find a place to get enough food for both he and I, before he takes the carriage back home."

In the distance, Limelight noticed a purple haired fily scooting out of sight. He thought nothing of it, and continued to speak to Rarity. "Would you mind escorting me to Sugarcube my lady?" He said, with a small amount of confidence weaving through his words.

"You're friends with the Pony who makes these? I'd be lucky to ever meet a baker of such professionalism back in Canter-"

Rarity had to laugh at the words spoke here. As good a baker as her excitable friend may be, "professionalism" wasn't what popped into her mind when she thought Pinkie Pie. No, not in the slightest. Also, what did he almost say there? Canter? Was this a Canterlot gentlecolt? If so that was even more wonderful. In the young mare's mind there was no place in Equestria so magical as Canterlot.

"Well, miss, i'm very charmed by your offer, but I'm afraid I couldn't do such a thing. It's not of me to take from a lady."

The unicorn found a smile and gave an affected giggle. Of course not. How silly of her. If this truly were a Canterlot gentlecolt, there was no chance he'd take her up on such an offer. Stowing the cupcakes back away she nodded and continued to listen to the charming stallion with the silver coat.

"Though... I was wondering, where is this "Sugarcube Corner"? My Chaeuffer and I are incredibly famished, so I was longing to find a place to get enough food for both he and I, before he takes the carriage back home. Would you mind escorting me to Sugarcube my lady?"

A chauffeur? But of course, that just completed the picture. She gave another small nod and then a demure laugh, before starting to speak, "Oh? Well it's hardly very far from here. Just a few blocks right down that way."

She raised a hoof and pointed in the direction of the Cake family bakery. "It would be more than my pleasure to escort you and your chauffeur, if you'd like," she offered, bobbing her head to the side.

"Oh? Well it's hardly very far from here. Just a few blocks right down that way."

The Snow white Unicorn said while raising a hoof, Limelight looked in that direction, and sure enough, there was a towering building. All sorts of Pony's were bustling about it, with wonderful smells seeming to reach out and grab you even from blocks away. Limelight pondered as to what other types of treats could be inside, not to mention who the Pony responsible for making these treats could be. Needless to say, he had to find out.

"It would be more than my pleasure to escort you and your chauffeur, if you'd like,"

Limelight beamed at the White Unicorn, who was being incredibly generous. "Well, actually, I came out to grab some food for my chauffer and I, he's back at my trailer getting everything all fixed up and ready to go. Then he'll be on his way back, as he's got another client waiting for his services tomorrow. I figured I'd at least grab him something so I could spare him the time searching. Busy man he is." Said Limelight, looking back to see Jeeve's conversing with another Pony. Limelight eyed him with a look of reverance, as he knew he could never be happy doing the job that Jeeves does. He always made sure to tip him extra for it, and Jeeves certainly didn't mind either.

Limelight raised his hoof to his new found lady friend "Care to introduce me... mademoiselle?" Said Limelight with a heartfelt grin.

Crash was intrigued. Being a drifter, he rarely worked the same job for anymore then a week. Still, he did wonder what it would be like to settle down in a house from time to time. A job working with automation machinery was especially appealing to him.

"Well, I better finish up, and head on back to Canterlot, I've got a few more customer's this week."

"Need some help? I'm always up for some volunteer manual labor"

"I wish they all paid as well as he does though!"

Crash smiled. He knew the joy of an unexpectedly high pay all too well.

"Need some help? I'm always up for some volunteer manual labor"

Jeeves looked at the stallion who was offering his aid, he gave a small heartfelt smiled, before replaying, " No-no........ Can't let you be doing that my friend! You see, as much as I'd appreciate it, I'm in a Union, and I can't help or be helped in my work unless they're apart of it as well! Just how the rules work my friend!"

Said Jeeves with a shrug. He knew that Limelight would most likely be back in less than an hour, he was just about finished too.

"Besides, I doubt Limey would like having strangers touch his special trailer, he had it custom made just for him!"

Jeeve's said with a hearty laugh. He figured the Stallion offering to help him out would mean no harm, but rules are rules; and they are better left unbroken. Besides, all Jeeves had left to do was to get the whole thing leveled out. Which was really a pretty easy task on it's own accord. He looked at the stallion agian, "You're offer's much appreciated though!" Said Jeeves, as he began delving back into his work.

"Ah, I more than understand," Rarity replied at once, nodding as the pony explained his plans. It only made sense to her. A chauffeur who's clients include such a distinguished Canterlot gentlepony could only have the busiest of schedules.

"Care to introduce me... mademoiselle?"

Rarity was a bit taken aback by these words. She had already given her name when she first approached this gentlecolt. It gave her pause for a moment, before she reasoned out that one tends to become overwhelmed when presented with so much new information. Here he was in a new town, confronted with new sights and sounds and ponies. Her name simply hadn't stuck with him. It wasn't anything she had done. At least she hopes as much...

"Well, my dear monsieur, the name is Rarity, Ponyville's elite couturier and rising star in the greater world of high fashion!" Rarity started dramatically, wanting to leave a more formidable impression this time.

"And might I ask for your name, sir?" she asked as she took the hoof extended to her and gave it a gentle shake.

"Well, my dear monsieur, the name is Rarity, Ponyville's elite couturier and rising star in the greater world of high fashion!"

The assertiveness of the mare slightly suprised Limelight, but also rather amused him. He already knew what her name was, had she assumed he was asking for a re-introduction? This made the stallion give a small laugh, before saying, "Yes, yes i already know your name my lady; and by that exquisitively styled mane, flawless purple colour, that snow white mane, and those gleaming pearls of eyes you have. I can tell your an educated pony of high fashion, and beleive me, it shows! You're clearly the most stylish pony In this town, and I'm sure even from where I'm from, youd'd still be top teir!" Said the Stallion, being as complimentary as possible. doing his best to try and soothe the rather formiddly assertive mare. It was cute though, he respected a woman with power.

"And might I ask for your name, sir?"

It had actually just hit Limelight that he had yet to give out his name. Generally this was a decent thing, however, most of the time his fans already knew him by name. This was a new kind of scenario for him. The stallion grinned, "Well Miss Rarity, my name is Limelight... however, I guess you could add a "Sir" to that as I am technically a royal, but I don't really feel the word suits me well, it doesn't roll of the tongue. So I just prefer to be known by my real and stage name, Limelight." Admitting his royal staus wasn't something he did on a regular basis. However, he felt that if he was going to say it out loud, it might as well be to the most regal of ponies from the area. This was Ponyville after all, mare's of Rarity's calbur were sure to be incredibly... rare. "What a fitting name..." thought Limelight to himself. After he spoke, the mare raised her hoof to his own, which he prompty gave a light kiss, as was standard a greeting in Canterlot. He looked back at the Mare and smiled. "Shall we be on our way then?"

I can tell your an educated pony of high fashion, and beleive me, it shows! You're clearly the most stylish pony In this town, and I'm sure even from where I'm from, youd'd still be top teir!"

Rarity was somehow taken aback by the words said, as sweet as they were. Had she misinterpreted him? She gave a nervous glance aside as she retraced the conversation and tried to find her faux pas. The answer occurred to her in time; this pony hadn't been asking her for another introduction but instead prompting her to lead him to Sugarcube Corner so as to introduce him to Pinkie! How foolish of her not to catch on. She gave an apprehensive twitch. She hoped to Celestia this fine gentlecolt didn't think her self-absorbed to respond as such.

The compliments definitely softened her worries some though. This stallion was a charmer. There was no telling what he truly thought of her misspoken words, but his own words definitely enticed the mare's ego. Perhaps the small but noticeable laugh was more telling though. Rarity wasn't sure what to say to diffuse the situation, so she just let the stallion keep talking.

"Well Miss Rarity, my name is Limelight... however, I guess you could add a "Sir" to that as I am technically a royal, but I don't really feel the word suits me well, it doesn't roll of the tongue. So I just prefer to be known by my real and stage name, Limelight."

Rarity's eyes widened. Royal? Seriously. Oh my. She gulped, suddenly more anxious than before. The only relief was that it was "Sir" he names as his title and not "Duke" or "Prince". Still, if he truly had a royal connection no matter how far distant, this demanded even more from her than she had previously thought. The other key detail was "stage name". This all but confirmed that he was some manner of performer. It was a lot of information to take in at once, but Rarity couldn't stay speechless any longer.

"It is my upmost pleasure, my good sir," she said with a mildly awkward curtsy. "I had no idea I shared my company with a pony of such distinguish and nobility! Allow me to formally welcome you to this humble little town. I do so hope you enjoy your time here!"

Realizing she might be coming across as smothering now, Rarity stepped back and gave an awkward laugh.

"Shall we be on our way then?"

The unicorn nodded promptly. "Yes, but of course! Follow me. I'd be delighted to introduce you to my dear friend and the storied patisserie where she is employed!" she said as she started to lead the pony back toward the sweet smelling bakery.

It was only after the words were said that Rarity realized what she was about to do. She was taking this pony, a visitor to Ponyville who just admitted to being of noble class, to meet Pinkie Pie, the most unpredictable pony in Equestria, who she had already admitted was a close friend of hers. Her step slowed slightly as she glanced toward Limelight. There was a very good possibility that this was not going to be such a good idea in the end...

"It is my upmost pleasure, my good sir,"

Limelight nodded towards the mare, before giving his own small bow "The pleasure's all mine madame." Limelight enjoyed how polite and educated this Rarity character behaved. She almost reminded him of his own mother in a way, always making sure to be as dainty as possible, while always making sure to make it sound natural. Limelight liked that, he felt anormally comfortable already. "Maybe it's just an effect the town has on people.", he wondered. Or, it could've been those delcious cupcakes... Limelight's stomache gave a small protest at the thought. Yeah, it was probably just the town.

"I had no idea I shared my company with a pony of such distinguish and nobility! Allow me to formally welcome you to this humble little town. I do so hope you enjoy your time here!"

If there was one thing Limelight always adored doing, it was coming to the point in a conversation when the other realized his status. Sure, he didn't own enough land to be known as a duke, nor was he a prince, and related to her highness herself. However, he achieved his title doing what he loved, and working hard at it. Money could only buy so much, otherwise, he actually would have been a duke had he decided to splurge on property. The whole heirarchy was rather confusing at times, he could only imagine what Luna, Cadance, and Celestia must go through.

The stallion observed Rarity stepping back, and giving a barely noticeable laugh. Was she that nervous? He considered that maybe he had given up to much information too quickly. However, it was too late to fix that. The unicorn nodded sharply in response to his final question.

"Yes, but of course! Follow me. I'd be delighted to introduce you to my dear friend and the storied patisserie where she is employed!"

The stallion beamed, "Alright! Lead the way!" He said, catching her eye contact a final time. He felt Rarity was still a tinge nervous, though he really couldn't understand why, besides from the original reason, which seemed to be less obvious. He didn't really put too much thought into it however, he wanted some cupcakes, and he wanted them now.

A new thought came to him as they were walking together, side-by-side. He had yet to ask what this owner was actually like. Though, he was also rather tempted to leave her identity a surprise. If he could meet a pony as intriguing as Rarity within only being in ponyville for roughly 20 minutes, he really couldn't wait to see what kind of other gem's he could find as well. He wanted to meet a whole spectrum of new talent, and new material. He definantly didn't want the same cookie cutter options found back in Canterlot, which was maybe why Limelight already knew he'd enjoy his stay here. He gave a quick look back at Rarity, and gave a wide grin.

"I hope she isn't boring..." Said the Stallion, who was in a rather ecstatic mood.

"The pleasure's all mine madame."

Rarity gave a short laugh as she blushed softly. This stallion was just too polite and cordial, as would only be expected of his station. Many of Ponyville's residences, and at least a few of Canterlot's she could name could do well to learn a thing or two from him.

"Alright! Lead the way!"

As Limelight said these words the mare offered him a firm nod. "It truly isn't so far," she said again as she began to trot ahead at a good pace in the direction from which she had come, making sure that the stallion kept with her.

Rarity continued to worry about what might transpire. This polite, noble Canterlot pony and a mare like Pinkie Pie--it just wasn't a good combination any way you looked at it. Pinkie was just too... well... Pinkie sometimes. She was a wild, untamed and often unexplainable force. She didn't know restraint and could probably be described as being somewhat lacking in the area of social grace. Now this stallion was going to meet her, and his thoughts on her would be reflecting back upon Rarity.

"I hope she isn't boring..."

The mare was shocked when the stallion cheerfully blurted these words out. For one thing, she hadn't figured him for the sort of speak so directly. More importantly though, it was rather piercing for him to speak of Pinkie right as Rarity thought of her. Could he read her face? Was it that visible in her eyes that she was worried for this meeting? Either way, boring certainly wasn't the right descriptor.

"Er... that's... I mean... I'll assure you that my friend is anything but that..." she said through a forced grin as they came upon the door of Sugarcube Corner. "She's very.... well, she's... uh..." she stumbled over the words, not finding anything to say.

She stood there a moment, not wanting to go in. Looking back toward Limelight, her nerves clear, she began to speak. "Umm... actually I think she might be busy... with things... and stuff... I... er... wouldn't want to trouble her..."

Upon arriving to Sugarcube corner, limelight was immediatly intrigued with it's architecture. The frosting laden shingles, the cupcake spire, the intricate (Almost germanic styled) siding, the candy cane pillars, and the nutty chocolate rooftop all came together in such a strinkingly impeccable manner. Yet, somehow, it still managed to fit in within ponyville, it managed to stick out less than Limelight's own trailer, but Limelight still felt that he could have found the place without rarity's help. In fact, he could've probably done it with his eyes shut, the smell was more than enough.

The duo arrived upon the front step's of the complex, Limelight could feel the heat of the oven's from inside, it was warm and heavy, and smelled of frosting. Suddenly, his accomplice seemed to stop short, as if caught in a nervous daze, she looked at Limelight and said,

"Umm... actually I think she might be busy... with things... and stuff... I... er... wouldn't want to trouble her..."

Limelight could tell the mare was nervous, she almost seemed to have a nausous look, with a slight twitch in her eye. He gave her and then the building a sizing up, before realizing that he could plainly see an "Open" sign on the construct. Plus, Limelight himself couldn't hear any overly loud noises going on from within, no astoundingly powerful vibrations. Everything felt normal in his opinion. Was she trying to hide something? He doubted it, Rarity didn't seem like the type of Mare who would hide things.

Limelight took a step forward and started to push on the doorway. It gave way under the force of his strong forelegs as he said "Well, sign says open, I'm still starving, and she's a friend of your's isn't she? I'm sure she wouldn't mind us coming in." Said Limelight with a calm tone, as he held the doorway open for Rarity. They both entered the building, Mare first, Stallion second; just as he was always told to hold a door for a lady. Initially there was nopony working the front counter, however a silver pushbell could be seen. Limelight promptly stepped forward, "Here goes nothing" and pressed the button.

"Helloooooooooooooooooo???~" Called the Stallion, who was taken aback by the dreamy interior and wonderful smells of the close-bye kitchen. Several Clanging sounds could be heard nearbye. He was genuinely excited for what was to come.

The sound of the bell fell flat. "Pfft, I really need to get that bell fixed. I dropped it in some boiling caramel once while trying to fix it, so I guess it's definitely, definitely not going to work now, huh?" Pinkie Pie had her back to the two ponies. She was also balanced on top of a large stack of candy-cane painted chairs. She sat cross-legged at the very top, her curly pink tail hanging down. She flicked it idly. She had her arms extended, a pink cupcake balanced atop each hoof. She was also balancing a cupcake on her muzzle. "I'd turn around to say hi, but I'm communing with the pastry at the moment." Awkward pause. "I know one of you is Rarity -- I can smell your perfume downwind from a hurricane! Hi Rarity! Did you eat all those cupcakes already?! I know I can't resist myself. You must be here for seconds and thirdsies!"

Pinkie Pie flipped the cupcake she was balancing on her muzzle into the air, and scoffed it in one swallow. She turned around, her cupcakes thumping to the ground...frosting side down, of course. "Guess my cupcakes weren't very talkative today, huh?" She narrowed her blue gaze at Limelight. "Oh neaty! You brought a friend?! A NEW FRIEND!" In her excitement, she toppled off the stack of chairs. They crashed to the ground along with the crazy pink mare; only her curly tail poked out from the tangle of chair legs and padded red cushions. She struggled for a few moments, extracting herself from the pile. She brushed dust off her pink coat and trotted over to the stallion. She had stepped in pink frosting from one of her fallen cupcakes, and tracked it unknowingly all the way across the room. She extended her hoof, several glops of pink frosting dripping to the floor. "Howdy do, welcome, bonjour and hello, pal of Rarity!" She smiled widely, glancing to her friend. "He's not really your type, but he'd be fun to go out on the town with!" Pinkie looked back to Lime. "Are you ticklish or allergic to walnuts?"

" No-no........ Can't let you be doing that my friend! You see, as much as I'd appreciate it, I'm in a Union, and I can't help or be helped in my work unless they're apart of it as well! Just how the rules work my friend!"

'Oh, it's one of those policy things huh' Crash thought.

"Besides, I doubt Limey would like having strangers touch his special trailer, he had it custom made just for him!"

Crash wondered what exactly this trailer was custom made for. It sure did look flashy.

"You're offer's much appreciated though!"

Crash smiled. "Alright then, if you say so. I'm gonna go get myself some breakfast, see ya around bud" He said as he to leave. He remembered this one place in ponyville that served great pancakes during one of his stays and thought he might go there for breakfast. He couldn't remember the name, but he did remember that the entire building looked like a giant gingerbread house. That's something you don't easily forget. Before long, he found the establishment, Sugar Cube Corner, and walked through the front doors. He immediately noticed the abundance of upturned furniture and cupcake smeared floor. "Whoa, what the heck happened in here?" He said aloud, confusion clear on his face.

"Well, sign says open, I'm still starving, and she's a friend of your's isn't she? I'm sure she wouldn't mind us coming in."

Rarity was surprised by these words for a moment before realizing this was only natural. She was the one being incredibly silly here. From Limelight's perspective, her behavior didn't make an ounce of sense. It was her fault; she had really walked right into this perhaps unfortunate situation. There truly was no backing out of it now. She swallowed slowly as she told herself that whatever happened happened.

"Here goes nothing. Helloooooooooooooooooo???~"

The mare let out a small sigh as her companion took the final step and made his entrance. She followed after him, stepping back into Sugarcube Corner having only just left not many minutes ago. She didn't have to wait long for what was to come next. The perky, pink party pony made her presence known promptly.

"Pfft, I really need to get that bell fixed. I dropped it in some boiling caramel once while trying to fix it, so I guess it's definitely, definitely not going to work now, huh?"

Pinkie spoke as the bell failed to ring. Rarity had long since learned not question these kinds of statements from her friend, as lacking in logic as they could be. Pinkie was the sort who did exactly as she pleased.

"I'd turn around to say hi, but I'm communing with the pastry at the moment. I know one of you is Rarity -- I can smell your perfume downwind from a hurricane! Hi Rarity! Did you eat all those cupcakes already?! I know I can't resist myself. You must be here for seconds and thirdsies!"

Pinkie spoke to them without turning at first, as she for some reason that likely only made sense to the pink mare stood atop a stack of chairs and balanced three cupcakes--two on her hooves and one on her muzzle. Rarity was kind of alarmed by her comments. This was the second time her perfume had been mentioned. Could this common scent really be recognized through the overwhelming fragrance of Sugarcube Corner's best fresh baked cupcakes? It seemed doubtful to her.

"No, I haven't eaten them yet, Pinkie," she said in response to the latter part of the pony's words. "These are for Sweetie Belle."

"Guess my cupcakes weren't very talkative today, huh?"

The pink mare spoke some more after eating the cupcake balanced on her muzzle and inadvertently dropping the others. Rarity just stared, not really sure what to make of this. She glanced over at Limelight, and then back toward Pinkie, just completely dumbfounded about what was going on.

"Oh neaty! You brought a friend?! A NEW FRIEND!"

Pinkie predictably became excited as she noticed Limelight. Meeting new friends was one thing that made the mare more excited than just about anything else. She just hoped Limelight would respond well to her brand of excitement. When the pink mare proceeded to fall off the readily collapsing stack of chairs then bounce back up and out of the pile like nothing had happened to trek across the room and offer her welcomes and a frosting filled hoof to Rarity's new noble acquaintance, she couldn't help but wonder how he might be judging them both.

"He's not really your type, but he'd be fun to go out on the town with!"

Pinkie said after her welcome causing Rarity to give a nervous, awkward laugh. This was only compounded when the mare proceeded to ask Limelight some seemingly random questions. For several moments, she had no clue what to even say. She just stared ahead, stunned and laughed awkwardly some more.

"It's... uh... n-nice.... yes, nice... very nice, in fact, to see you again so soon,

Pinkie" Rarity said between more awkward, broken laughs. "I'd like you to meet Limelight."

"Limelight," She said, looking toward the Canterlot pony. "This is my... uh... spirited friend Pinkie Pie. She works here at Sugarcube Corner..."

After he had rung the bell, and the Pink mare had made herself known to all the world and beyond. Limelight stood and stared, with his mouth slightly agape, in a bedazzled, hysterical, and confused mix of emotions. He didn't speak while the two mares were busy conversing, and while the Mare known as "Pinkie" was finishing her meditation for the day. He just, stood, stared, and took it all in, almost in a daze...

Untill he heard these three words...

"A NEW FRIEND!"

Limelight made sure to give the appropriate groans and winces as Pinkie collasped out of her meditation pose, and fell into a heap on the floor. He didn't know how she made it out seemingly unscathed, however, that really wasn't the main thing on his mind. Before he knew it, the Pink frosting covered Mare was trotting his way, sugary hooves extended, and eyes lit up brighter than the majority of his shows. He was immediately struck by a warm feeling, as an ecstatic smile grew across his lips. This was the type of goofy, oddball, and out-of-the-normal pony he began his trip to find. Not to mention that her coloring alone was remarkable, Limelight had never seen a mare of such vibrant Pink.

"Howdy do, welcome, bonjour and hello, pal of Rarity!"

Upon Pinkie extending her frosting laden hoof's to meet his, Limelight immediately took a small tip of his forehoof, and rather than shaking the mare's hand, he instead swiped off a small peice of the frosting from her. In which, he quickly gave a smell, and then proceeded to taste it. "Hmm......... Strawberry" Said the Stallion aloud, before Pinkie began her next barrage of words.

"He's not really your type, but he'd be fun to go out on the town with!"

It was a lucky thing that Limelight wasn't eating an entire cupcake, but only a morsel of frosting, as he was starting to crack up. He was doing his best to restrain his laughter, as Pinkie continued her questions.

"Are you ticklish or allergic to walnuts?"

Limelight settled himself down a bit, just so he had enough air to give a clear answer. "Well..... eheh, I am most certainly ticklish... but I'm not allerigic to walnuts, though I'm definantly more of a hazelnut guy myself." The Stallion began his erratic laughter again, only to barely hear the mumbled words and awkward laughs of his current partner. She eventually spoke again, with word's he could actually clearly make out.

"Limelight," She said,as she looked towards him. "This is my... uh... spirited friend Pinkie Pie. She works here at Sugarcube Corner..."

The stallion erupted, "Splendid!" he said, finally giving his first real eye-to-eye look at the Pink mare, who had almost effortlessly garnered his full attention. Limelight lifted his hoof to the mare and shamelessly shook it, paying no attention to the remainign frosting. He spoke, "I've been looking all over for the wonderful smell of these cupackes of yours! I'm so glad Rarity brought me here!" He said, giving a wide grin to the white Mare beside him. An unconfortably loud rumble sprang forth from limelight's stomach, reminding him as to how truly hungry he was. He looked back at Pinky, "What are your flavors today!?"

Bits of strawberry pink frosting flicked off Pinkie's hoof as she warmly shook Lime's hoof. She was smiling something fierce. "You like hazelnuts?! You're in luck! Hazelnut Millet is our featured cupcake flavor! Crunchy millet bits with toasted hazelnuts in a southern-style chocolate-caramel buttercream, they're just super-duper gooey deliciamazing! We also have walnut wheatgrass, chocolate raisin butternut squash, bubblegum -- I use real bubblegum -- and octochocolate goo supreme! Those in particular are really great -- I use eight kinds of chocolate! White, dark, milk, grey, red, blue, green, and black chocolate!" Pinkie nudged Lime, winking. "I also have apple amore cupcakes -- heart-shaped pink lady apple cake with a pink rose cream filling and heart sprinkles! Do you have a special somepony?" Pinkie looked him over. "I'm guessing probably not, but you have to love yourself before you can love anypony else, right? Or was it you have to love somepony to love or be loved by loving the loved?"

She sat down hard on the floor. "Loving love by loving the loved? Hmm..." Pinkie's attention shifted, and she glanced to Rarity with her light blue gaze. "Are you okay? You look like Sweetie Belle just got into your private fabric stock again to make capes! You're so sillyfilly, Rarity!" Pinkie gigglesnorted, clutching her middle. "Heeheehee! Sillyfilly! That sounds like a new cupcake flavor to me! What would go into a sillyfilly cupcake, Lime? Maybe we could write a joke and stick them in the middle. That'd be a neat surprise, huh? Unless you didn't know it was there, in which case you'd probably get more fiber in your diet. I've done that before with a fortune cookie once. I bit into it and thought it was kind of chewy, and only got half my fortune!"

"Splendid! I've been looking all over for the wonderful smell of these cupackes of yours! I'm so glad Rarity brought me here! What are your flavors today!?"

Rarity had been waiting in anticipation for the reaction to come from Limelight. She had expected any number of things from him. This really wasn't one of them. Nobility were typically a stuffy, hard to please lot. Even the best of them expected things to be a certain specific way and seldom deviate it. It was something of a shock to her that Limelight's reaction would be so positive and effortless? He had used the term "stage name" before though, she remembered? Maybe this came from his involvement in the arts. Yes, that had to be it. Rarity nodded. Wonderful, she truly had nothing to worry about here. She let out a small sigh of relief.

Which proved to be maybe a little premature. Sure, maybe Limelight wasn't the uptight sort... but the never ceasing, squealing rant that proceeded to fall out from Pinkie Pie's mouth was the type of thing that would likely wear on the tolerance of anypony, no matter who they may be. It was stunning really; Rarity just stood and stared as Pinkie detailed her bizarre cupcake flavors. Bubblegum? Green chocolate? How exactly had Rarity managed to just a moment ago get simple pink-frosted strawberry cupcakes for Sweetie from this pony? Rarity's eyes spun in her head as the peculiar pink pony proceeded to make presumptions about Limelight's love life.

"Loving love by loving the loved? Hmm... Are you okay? You look like Sweetie Belle just got into your private fabric stock again to make capes! You're so sillyfilly, Rarity!"

Pinkie's attention returned to Rarity as she managed to effectively pick up on the dazed and confused look in the unicorn mare's eyes. Pinkie wasn't quite on point here. When Sweeite got into her fabric it lead mainly to frustration. Pinkie Pony could lead to frustration--or perhaps annoyance was a better word--what with the chimicherrychongas and kumquats, but here...this was mostly just awe. The moment seemed almost surreal to her. She remained speechless.

"Heeheehee!

And the pony just kept going. Really it was astounding. Rarity just stared for a moment as the pony came to a pause. She glanced over at Limelight and then back toward Pinkie. She gave a small sigh.

"Er.... uh... I-I..." Rarity started, realizing she should probably speak but not having a clue as to how to follow such eccentrics. She wished for a second that Rainbow or Twilight were there; they seemed most adept at playing off this pony with their wit. Instead she just gave an awkward laugh and nodded. "Indeed. You'll not find a pony quite like Pinkie anywhere in Equestria-- and it's quite far from an overstatement to say that her baking is every bit as bold, unique and unforgettable as she is..." she said with an awkward smile as she glanced toward Limelight.

As the Energetic cotton candy pink Pony rambled off her list of delicious flavours, Limelight's mind slightly wandered. Although several flavours definantly stood out, he was more or less paying attention to the rhythm and meter of how Pinkie spoke. Everything she said in succession could be tapped too, as it almost seemed to follow it's own methodical beat. The Stallion was still coming up with his own names of cupcakes in the same speed and pattern after she finsihed, however he was also on the focus of trying to make the names rhyme. He didn't get very far,to say the least.

However, When Pinkie made a gesture about his own personal romantic life, his ears became pert. His practiced camera smile showing through. "I don't beleive a mare like yourself would be interested in hearing about my past endeavors, however... I am quite popular where I'm from... I have a certain affinity for dancers..." Said the stallion, almost mumbling the last phrase too himself, as it wasn't really something he wanted Rarity in particular to hear.

Speaking of Rarity.

The white Mare spoke and nodded to herself and Limelight, only muttering out a slur of rather unintelligible words.... she was trying incredibly hard to think of what to say. She looked as if she wished she could've been more content in any other place in Equestria right now. She spoke,"Indeed. You'll not find a pony quite like Pinkie anywhere in Equestria-- and it's quite far from an overstatement to say that her baking is every bit as bold, unique and unforgettable as she is..." The Stallion smirked at this remark. However,. he definantly understood that it was time to get Rarity out of here, before she went mad. The Stallion took a deep breath after the two stopped talking, and began to sing to Pinkie.

"Well, madame I must say to you, that every flavor here is great! Though, I am quite starving, and my cheauffer doesn't like to wait. So if you wouldn't mind, I'll spare your time, because I'd like to plaaaace an order. I hope your listening well, otherwiiiiiise I recommend grabbing a recorder!...

I'd... Like... To... Buy...

A baaaker's dozen of your Hazelnut millet cake, I hope you have some fresh because I don't really want to wait. I would also like to buy a couple octochocolate goo supreme, I'll even tip you extra for my gal here Rarity. Because you seee.... Pinkie..... What we have back home is something unlike you here and I won't lie.... I'd like too buy.... just one, only one, and exactly not one more. An super duper sweet, and impossible to compete with a delicious Apple Amour!!! I'd like to buyyyyyyyyy..... and say thanks for my very first tiiiiiiiime!"

The Stallion's voice rang out as a clear Baritone with a precise vibrato and bright harmonic resonance. He kept his eyes open, and a bright smile on his face the entire time, as he dropped several dozen's of bits onto Pinkie's Counter. It was a short, jovial tune, and wasn't necessarily one of his best works, though for making the rhyme's up on the spot. He was rather content. He looked at Rarity with a smile, "I'm sure you won't find that around here quite often either!" He said, giving her a playful nudge. "Can I get those cupcake's to go please?" He said, smiling at Pinkie.

Pinkie clapped her hooves together, giggling. "Oooh you like to sing huh?!" She scooped the bits off the counter and placed them in the register with a solid ringing of the bell. She did a backflip, grabbing a pastry box and balancing it atop her fluffy tail. She shaked her rump, bursting into her own song. "Cupcakes, pastry, hot and fresh -- mine are better than all the rest! A sprinkle of cocoa and a splash of lime; my cakes taste good, they're all quite fine!" She started to pack away Limelight's order, grabbing the various cupcakes from within the bakery case "...a baker's dozen? How about more? You know these cream-filled ones I just adore! Bite them in half and stuff them away, save the calories and fret for another day!" She finished filling one box, bucked her flank, and the box flopped down on the counter with a neat flip.

Pinkie grabbed a smaller box, and filled it with exactly one Apple Amore cupcake. She pulled a length of pink ribbon from a spool with her teeth and tied both boxes together, shoving them with gusto in front of the stallion. "Here you go, enjoy them, take a bite! Thank you for your business, dear Limelight!" She giggled, grinning, shifting her playful gaze to Rarity. "He's fun! You can come back here anytime! Maybe we'll sing some mareoke together! Wouldn't that be great party?! Ha!"
