Lumi couldn't believe it. After years of her life searching, months of hard work and many sleepless night she had finally reached her goal. Looking up she took a moment to admire the large embroidered banner that hung over the entrance to the building. It read 'Sapphire Hill Observatory - Grand Opening'. She gave a happy sigh and sat down, her rear making a sizeable thud as it hit the ground. High above the evening sun was already dipping behind the horizon casting long rays or orange light over the building. The observatory itself looked more like a Hearth's Warming Eve tree than a building though. Long coloured banners were stretched between windows and the eaves and lanterns hung from every position she could manage. Even the large telescope that poked out of the roof looked festive. It was wrapped up like a candy cane, spirals of coloured fabric twisted round its length and the edge of the main lens had been decorated with bows and candles.

"SQUEE!"

The noise came from Lumi's mouth before she even realised it. She quickly shoved her two front hooves into her mouth and blushed heavily glancing around to see if anypony had heard her. Nopony was even around though, at least not yet, and Lumi quickly relaxed, giggling slightly behind her hooves for a moment. She was so excited, she just hoped everything went as planned. The last few months had been busy for the mare. Not only had she numerous repair jobs to do on the building itself but she had been organising the shipment of a new focus lens for the telescope, the old one having been cracked when she had arrived, and working on advertising. Given her habit for staying up all night she had found these tasks difficult to manage and had constantly fallen asleep during her day. In fact the last three days had left her with nothing but a few cat naps in terms of proper sleep, the evidence of her long night visible as growing bags under her eyes. Still she was determined not to let anything slip. With luck ponies would be coming from far and wide tonight...at least she hoped so after the work she had put in. Just then the smell of fresh baking began to fill the air, drifting out of the observatory. Lumi perked her head.

"Uh muffins!" she said to herself quickly before dashing inside.

Like the exterior, the interior of the observatory was decorated as well with banners, ribbons and lanterns. High above her the gantry leading to the telescope made up much of the ceiling space and meant that a lot of the floor space was unusable. To the outside of the room though were numerous tables and displays showing various bits of information on the stars and moon. Lumi quickly made for a second room off the main one, slowling to a walk as she passed through and open set of double doors. This room was much lower and was set out with long tables that were all full of various food. A large cake shaped like an observatory had been placed in the centre of the room, a feature that Lumi had ordered from one of the bakeries in Canterlot for the occasion. The other tables were covered in sandwiches, snacks and various drinks.

Lumi was making for a third room though, a small kitchen just off the buffet room. The smell of baking increased as she walked through the doors, a large oven in the corner being the source. Lumi smiled to herself as her horn began to glow white. The oven door opened on its own and several trays of fresh muffins slid from the racks inside and landed on the kitchen table. She quickly glanced at the clock.

"Just enough time left to ice them," she proclaimed as she set about her next job.

[Topic info]

Ok everyone as this is an open topic feel free to post. Anyone is welcome to join in. I've included a couple of images below of what the observatory looks like and the floorplan so you all know whats what. Other than that lets have some fun!

While visiting his hometown, Lore Weaver heard that Sapphire Hill Observatory had been reopened. As a colt, he always loved studying the stars, spending time sitting on the roof of his house or a hillside looking up at the sky. He really wanted to see the stars up close, but being a unicorn he couldn't just fly into the sky. During his foalhood, the observatory was left abandoned, but for the life of him he could not understand why. Thankfully it was opened, and he was not going to miss visiting it.

Lore Weaver made the journey up the hillside to the massive structure which was decorated to the fullest. He noticed that there were no ponies around but the door was open. There was a thought that maybe he was late to the opening, but upon looking inside the equally festive interior, he saw that there were no ponies their either.

"Hello," he said, his voice echoing off the large area where the telescope was housed, "Anypony home?"

Huscarl poked his head out of some nearby bushes. His scaly head looking around the area as the unicorn entered the observatory. Now, one might be wondering why on earth a hulking teenage dragon would take an interest in an observatory, can be answered quite simply. Huscarl was no ordinary dragon. For Huscarl, intelligence and knowledge was of an absolute importance, obviously deferring in opinion from his dragon peers that can be found in the Badlands.

In fact, Huscarl, being of a higher intelligence of fellow dragons of his age, had noticed the reconstruction of the observatory weeks prior, and by the looks of it, It had appeared to be finished. Despite looking huge with impenetrable red scales, massive teeth, intimidating orange spikes and moderately sized claws, he was in fact, a fairy passive dragon. Who genuinely cared for the feelings of others, despite his lack in the knowledge of friendship. It was rare to find a dragon inside Equestria, and especially hard to find one who could read.

Regardless, the dragon slowly made his way up to the entrance of the amazingly decorated, albeit seemingly abandoned observatory. As he quickly noticed a another unicorn enter the observatory right before he had the chance to, He noticed that the unicorn was also a visitor, Huscarl moved towards the entrance doors, hid behind them and called out to the unicorn while still being outside.

"Hello there? Who is this?" Hoping to attract the unicorn's (Lore Weaver) attention.

The colourful vase trembled above the fireplace. Left, right, left, right. Finally it gave up and fell off the edge. It was truly a magnificent fall, which would finish in a spectacular dash against the floor. In last moment though an azure aura engulfed it, granting the vase additional few months or years of life. (Star broke it to pieces the next day in the morning herself). "Oh in the name of Celestia, what's happening with you today!?" - Rising Star couldn't help noticing that Imperio was being a bit... odd today. She levitated the vase back on the fireplace, taking greatest care not to even scratch it, observing its flight carefully. "It's like you wouldn't like me to leave home today..." - a loud squeak confirmed these words, as stoic Caracara observed her deeds. "Oh, don't be such a chick!" - it was somewhat ironic to tell this towards such a large 'birdie'. "Fine, I'll take you along with me." - she sighed deeply on this idea - "Mainly because you'd probably wreck my house while I'd be away..." - Star knew Imperio's humors far too well already. It wasn't worth taking the risk.

She had heard some rumors of an observatory opening in the vicinity of Canterlot. As long as she wasn't a scientist of any kind, a perspective of spending a relaxing evening under clear, evening or night sky appealed to her. After all, Star adored art. And if nature wasn't an art itself, what was then? Not mentioning her name also compelled her for presenting at least a slightest interest in constellations. She hesitated long, trying to decide how should she wear. In end, she decided only to change her manestyle and wear a silvery necklace with a small, diamond-shaped gem fitting the colour of her mane. As for the mane and tail itself, mare dyed the brighter streaks onto silvery colour resembling the aura of stars. She looked simple, but stunning at once. A true model pony... who became a photographer. It was such a ridiculous decision in her life that nopony, except for herself, could understand it. But that already was a much longer story to tell.

She threw last one glimpse at mirror and pushed a handful wisp of hair back to where they belonged. "Perfect." - her outer appearance mattered a lot for her. It would be a crime to allow herself laziness in that area of her life. "Imperio! Grab the Ponikon S300." - she threw behind. An extremely loud sound of complete silence hit her. "Imperio...?" - mare turned back to an accompaniment of hooves clacking against the floor. Caracara didn't even move, staring at her with a clueless expression on its face. Resignation crawled up into Star's eyes. "Oh Imperio... the small, silver one..." - her pet tilted head on these words and launched itself under ceiling, disappearing in different room. He returned almost in an instant, wearing a small, silvery, handy camera on its neck. "Excellent job." - she commended the bird. After all 'His Majesty', as she liked to call him at times, was so full of himself by default. Imperio taunted his chest hearing these words. It made Star smile in mind. "Let's go, we wouldn't like to be late, would we?" - mare approached and opened the door, allowing her pet to fly outside first. After that she turned the door lock with her magic and proceeded down the streets, simply bowling some ponies over. It filled her with endless joy.

Lumi looked up sharply as the voice echoed around the main hall. The magic glow coming from her horn stopped as she did causing the items she had been levitating to clatter to the kitchen top. This may not have been such a problem had it not been for the fact that she had just been dropping a fresh batch of icing from a bowl into a piping bag. As the bag and bowl landed icing went everywhere including all over Lumi. She hardly seemed to notice though, hastily levitating a towel from its rail and quickly rubbing it across her face.

Dashing from the kitchen she skidded to a halt at the door that lead out into the main hall. For a moment she studied the purple unicorn standing in the far doorway. She bit her lip, this was it! She couldn't let her shyness get in the way. Stepping out she made sure to hold her head high as she trotted towards the unicorn.

"Greetings, welcome to the Sapphire Hill Observatory," she said politely, her Canterlot accent elevating her voice into the realm of the posh and privilaged.

Well it would have done had it not been for the large dark bags under her eyes and the remains of cake icing that was still evident in her hair from a moment ago. Lumi was still grinning though as she continued, "I'm Luminescence, who might you..."

Lumi's face twisted as if she recognised what was about to happen. A moment later a massive yawn erupted across Lumi's face, the mare's mouth opening possibly as far as it could and staying there for a number of seconds before the yawn ended. As it did Lumi dropped her gaze to the ground as a vibrant red blush spread straight across her face. Had that really just happened?

"Um..oh my...I do apologise...um...hmm?"

Lumi paused in her apology as Huscarl's voice drifted in from outside.

Eulshy had known that the observatory would be reopening today, and seeing as she herself had never even been inside such a building she thought it would be fun to see for herself. She was making her way up the hill towards the observatory, humming a bit to herself as she went wondering what it would be like. She could see the structure appear over the hill, and wow was it big.

She continued to go towards it, putting a little sprint to her steps as she got excited. But when she reached the top of the hill she saw a rather sizable dragon standing outside the doorway to the observatory. not knowing what to make of the dragon, but feeling to awkward to approach him or pass by him she simply went over and sat somewhat behind some bushes. Hoping that the dragon would either go away or enter so she could continue on into the observatory with little hassle on both their parts.

Canterlot! What a super fancy place. This tan unicorn gazed in astonishment at the towering spires and vast buildings. It was certainly nothing like the smaller, more picturesque vacation homes at Trottingham. She could feel the air of grandiosity seeping from not only the environment, but its rather fashionable and well-dressed citizens with their posh accents echoing through these streets. Typically, the mare wasn't much of a traveler. She didn't really need to, after all. Being from a vacation hotspot, she'd already get to see all different types of ponies. However, there was a special type of flower sold here that she had to find for a special work. A commissioner for one of her works had managed to goad the small timid artist into leaving her comfort spot. It was her first time leaving her fair city and her heart only pumped with excitement and anxiety.

"Annnnd I'll let you in on a little something whilst you're there as well, dear. There's an observatory opening. A young little filly like you really should expand her horizons! New places give artists new inspirations. And I'd certainly love to see some of your new inspirations on my painting," She had recalled the older mare commissioner's words, and remembered that highly jaunty accent and debonair elegance that only seemed to come from Canterlot and the wealthy. And boy was this lady wealthy. She had put up quite an amount of bits for a piece of this unicorn's art and seemed to think that it was "quaint" and "not much out of (my) budget." Having never seen so much money in her entire life all at once, she had decided to take her up on her suggestion. After all, for that many digits, she had to make something spectacular and beyond her limits. The flower and sights she'd get here would certainly aid with-

After that she turned the door lock with her magic and proceeded down the streets, simply bowling some ponies over. It filled her with endless joy.

"Oh wow." Her attention was immediately attracted to the dazzling pony before her. She sure was tall.. a unicorn from the looks of it. And some kind of big bird thing. Huh. But her attention was soon shifted to another, even more distracting location. She had taken notice of what she had been searching for. The wide shiny lens glimmering in the glorious sunset, garish decorations as far as the eye could see, as vivid and bright as a Hearth's Warming tree, and candles casting their flaming lights.

"How... did I not notice that?" Her hoof made contact with her forehead in exasperation. She sure was bad at taking in the sights. But really, one couldn't blame her! It was her first time and there were other shiny things to be distracted by. "Oh well. I just hope I'm not too under-dressed for these fancy pants... deep breaths now. Ponies can't hurt you, the fear is irrational." The mare began to psyche herself up for the inevitably stressful socializations that would be to come. She had to do this, to make her art worth all those bits.

Going at a slow trot, she proceeded after the other unicorn's wake, making sure to stay behind her so she wouldn't notice. No need to socialize more than necessary, after all.

Lore Weaver was waiting for a reply from within the spacious observatory when he heard a voice. It wasn't from inside the building, but right behind him. Lore turned around, thinking it was another pony attending the grand opening. But what he saw was a red teenage dragon greeting him. The stallion had met a baby dragon before in Ponyville, so he knew not all dragons were scary.

"Oh hello. You're here for the grand opening too, right?"

Before he could get an answer, he heard a clattering sound behind him, coming from somewhere within the observatory. It was as if a pony dropped several things. Turning around, Lore Weaver met a mare who spoke in a tone that was definitely one you'd hear around the streets of Canterlot. Yet her voice couldn't cover the fact that the poor mare looked like she hadn't slept for a while. There was also frosting clinging to her pelt.

The mare introduced herself but stopped as she let out a yawn.

"Oh no need to apologize. I know about those long nights. Anyway, my name is Lore Weaver."

He paused and leaned in to speak to her.

Err... I think you have some frosting on your pelt from baking," he said quietly so as not to embarass her.

Lore noticed there was another new pony that appeared in the entrance who looked very shy. The stallion wondered why she stood outside and not made an attempt to come in, but he guessed it was due to the dragon.

"It's ok, you can come in. There's nothing to be afraid of."

Huscarl, despite being quite supprised by the reaction of the unicorn to a teenage dragon, lowered his head to avoid hitting the entrance door's frame, and walked inside. "Me? Of course I am, Who am I to miss the opening of an establishment such as this?" The dragon replied in a hastened tone, talking with ponies was definitely not his forte... Well, talking with anybody wasn't his forte.. As he gazed around the telescope hall before laying eyes on Luminescence. "Baking perhaps?" The massive dragon stated after noticing the frosting covered all over her, as he looked over to her In his usual, drab expression. Each step he took, left a small indent in the floor in the shape of his massive foot. It didnt really concern him though. He was here to see the spectacle of the new telescope!

"F-frosting...eh heh...."

Lumi absently raised a hoof to her mane and ran it through her hair a few times before lowering it. Sure enough a few drops of icing were present. She felt like she could die of embarressment. First the yawn and now icing...what was...next....?Lumi paused in her thoughts as Huscarl walked in. Sure an adolescent dragon wasn't as big as a full grown dragon but...well concidering Lumi hadn't ever seen a dragon before, of any size, except for those pictured in books it was more than a little daunting. She let slip a slightly nervous laugh, her eyes flicking from one pony to the next, or rather one pony to the dragon, and back again. She could feel her knees going a little faint. She had expected tonight to be busy but things were already way more busy than she had ever dreamed of. She shook her head, no! This was her big night and everything was going to be fine. Granted things hadn't started all that well but that didn't mean they couldn't end well.

"Oh...well, yes...I was just adding the final touches to the buffet," she said quickly, trying to rescue the situation as best she could, "Well do come in everypony...and uh dragon...make yourself at home! The buffet is through those doors over there and if you care to look around there are plenty of displays to look at. The main events will begin shortly so do enjoy yourself until then. If you'll excuse me a moment I shan't be long."

Lumi gave a small semi bow of her head and turned towards the far doors. She felt like running but didn't want to make a bad impression. First things first she had to clean out her mane and then she'd be free to greet her guests properly. She sighed slightly, tonight was going to be a long one.

"...oh, that's most amusing..." - tall mare responded monotonously in emotionless voice to a random stallion who walked beside her, telling her a story of his youth. For an unknown reason he couldn't understand simple language when she tried to explain she's not interested in his past. She attempted to throw him a tired look a few times, but it brought next to none effect. It was an ultimate relief for her to reach the city gates and leave him behind finally. When she was certain she's beyond the range of his ears, Star turned towards Imperio who was comfortably sitting on her back through more then half of the way. "Why didn't you do anything?" - her voice was filled with fillish indignation. Caracara only tilted his head, moving its wings in a way which Star took as a shrug. "What, you think it's funny?!" - she kicked high in air with her back hooves, throwing the bird off her back. Imperio opened his wings and soared into sky with dignity. "He's going to cross the border one day..." - thought Star as she trotted towards the nearby observatory, leering at her pet from under a frown.

I took just a few more minutes to reach the final destination. The construction presented itself amazingly. Unicorn mare raised an eyebrow trying to comprehend the view. "No..." Glamorous? "No... No, it's... Uh, like a great tree filled with candies from this perspective." - she couldn't resist that thought, the description fitted in perfectly. She was starting to have some doubts concerning the place. Mare called out towards Imperio, pointing a hoof at weird building. "Sunshine. Go! Check!" - although the Caracara was quite intelligent, he only understood the commands he was taught earlier. Yet, for once, it seemed Imperio didn't require her to repeat herself. He glided slowly towards the observatory. Meanwhile, Star scanned the area in front of it. It struck her that there weren't many ponies at all... at least for now. Although she could clearly hear some voices coming from inside and saw an odd silhouette standing in the door.

Perhaps she arrived as one of the first? Well, standing there would bring her nothing in the end. Risi flung her mane in the air, armed herself with most charming smile, glanced behind quickly and finally trotted towards the obs- She froze after first step and turned back again. To her surprise, nothing was amiss. She could have sworn she saw somepony staring directly at her, but all she managed to spot now was a stream of Equestrian citizens flowing from the city gates. Her eyes raced back and forth, searching for anything unusual. "You foal, why you're so nervous..." - she took a deep breath, counting all her hooves to make sure none is missing. Mare calmed her mind and slowly proceeded toward the building... only to spot yet another unpleasant surprise halfway. "IMPERIO!" - she shouted in disbelief just before anger took over her - "JUST WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!" Caracara was struggling with one of the banners above the entrance, trying to untie it. He seemed to remain indifferent for her callings. "COME BACK HERE AT ONCE!" - she rushed toward the building, observing him carefully. His behavior was completely irrational today, and she didn't know how to calm him down... She only hoped nopony would notice that little incident, although her shouts probably alarmed everypony around...

She was addressed by the Unicorn within the building. But she waited until she had seen the dragon pass all the way through the entrance before making her way inside of the observatory. She stopped right inside the entrance and looked about marveling at all the colourful decorations everywhere. She certainly thought it was pretty, and noticing the other ponies, and dragon, within the building she decided to move herself over to the side as to not be noticed.

But she continued to look at everypony as well as the decorations. But she did wonder who everypony was, and who the pony walking back away from them all was, or where she happened to be going. Eulshy figured she must have been going to clean out her mane when she saw that she had frosting, or icing in it. Then she wondered what the difference between frosting and icing was, even though they were probably the same thing.

Thankfully, the other unicorn hadn't appeared to have noticed her, despite also making her way to the newly built and garish observatory. Behind her glimmering and dazzling appearance, as well as her... chaotic distracting pet (for somebody so fancy, she sure couldn't control her animal! Perhaps these Canterlotians weren't as under control as she thought), she could slip in just about unnoticed. So far, nobody seemed to be paying her much mind and she managed to-

Whoa, whoa, whoa! What?

Was that... a dragon? Maybe it wasn't a good idea to come here after all. She had heard tell of their massive greed and otherwise unsavory temperament. And even if he was different, she didn't want to be rude and keep staring. Luckily though, he didn't seem to notice her just as the others hadn't. Just keep going. Pretend he's not there.

The mare averted her gaze from the gangly teenage beast, and to what had happened to be their host from what bit of conversation she had heard. A harried unicorn (wow, there sure were a lot of unicorns here!) with some frosting in her mane. Ah, what was the host's name again? Oh yes! Luminescence she had heard. Probably the least intimidating here. Well, besides that other unicorn who looked just about as uncomfortable about the dragon as she herself was, but she was a filly and Artsy didn't have much interest in children. She seemed stressed out in her announcement of the buffet being through those doors. It usually wasn't her nature to approach others, especially since she had just said she'd just be a moment...

She sighed. Blast her weak spot for the vulnerable. Certainly, they were the types of ponies she could sympathize with. The tan mare followed this Luminescence and psyched herself up to speak to her, ignoring the vehement pulsations of her heart against her chest. Ponies can't hurt you, it's all right. It's not a big deal. Don't be afraid!

"Well, um... hello," she stammered a little awkwardly, but continued to the periwinkle host. "Sorry to disturb you, but I'd just like to say that you have a... really nice thing going on here. Your observatory's really lovely. That's... um. Just about it, I suppose." She attempted a grin onto her expression, in attempts to wash away some of the obvious awkwardness she had been espousing. "Oh, yeah. I... don't mind any frosting either. It makes for a nice tasty easy snack, don't you think?"

Lumi was in the next room vigorously running a napkin through her mane to remove the frosting as Artsy nervously addressed her. She paused for a moment before replying, the dirty napkin sailing across the room encased in her magic before dropping into a bin. It was easy to see that Artsy was a little timid, a trait that Lumi recognised in herself all too well. As she had grown older she had managed to conquer her nerves a little but even so she found herself getting a little uncomfortable in larger groups.

"Thank you sweetie, I've had to put a lot of work into getting this place up and running again...you won't believe the state it was in when I arrived," she replied with a smile trying to ease the tension she could feel in Artsy's words, "Frosting does make for a tasy addition I agree, do you bake yourself? Oh goodness where have my manners gone, I haven't even asked your name!"

Lumi tilted her head, giving a questioning look at Artsy.

"If anybody is asking questions around here, It should be me!." Huscarl proclaimed while looking directly at Lumi, with smoke slowly escaping from his nostrils. "I am more than curious as to know what your name would be?" The dragon dropped to all fours while saying this, and and crawled surprisingly fast in a lizard like motion up to Lumi, and promptly moved in, face to face. He smiled while doing so, in an intimidating fashion, as the literate dragon stared intently into the unicorns eyes. The floor definitely did suffer with every single movement of the dragon, as a series of indents of his claws and feet followed Huscarl in a littered mess of a trail.

Lore watched as a new pony appeared inquiring about the telescope. The host disappeared for the moment to wash the frosting out.

"Great," the stallion said softly to himself, "Nice way to introduce yourself Lore by point out a pony's faults."

The dragon, who many ponies took an interest or slight nervousness towards, approached the host asking questions. Lore stood by, seein how she would respond to the inquisitive creature.

"Well, you sure did do a good job... it's quite decorated," she noted as she gazed around once more at the rather vivid decor. "N-no. I don't really bake, but I do like to eat it!" Now the mare chuckled a little, noting within her mind that she made the lamest of jokes. Of course, now their gracious host had asked her name. She was about to respond, when the frightful reptilian interloper interjected. Her haunches tensed as she pawed at the ground nervously and backed away slightly. This was a guest she quite wanted to avoid, and here he was rudely in their face! Dragons were as impolite as she had heard, and this one was messing up the floor that Luminescence had worked quite hard on!

"N-now hang on a sec, Mister Dragon. She asked my name first. Name's Artsy. Also, how can you come to an event without even knowing the host's name? Not to be rude or anything..." She added tentatively, thinking within her mind that it took already quite a bit of nerve to address this creature like that. Artsy didn't even know if he was hostile and would just breathe fire in her face for saying so.

As Huscarl stuck his snout in Lumi couldn't help but take a step back. Like Artsy she wasn't the most outward going pony ever but seeing Artsy stand up to the dragon did encourage her a lot.

"My name is Luminescence although you may call me Lumi if you wish, my name can get a little cumbersome at times," she stated quickly looking straight at Huscarl. She paused slightly, glancing briefly behind the dragon and noticing the mess that followed in his wake, "My floor! Oh by Luna's mane! Do you know how long it took to...uuuuuuuuuuh! Now see here Mr Dragon, you are most welcome to stay but please try to be a little lighter underhoof. And what in Tartarus is that racket outside?!"

Lumi turned her attention to the main door where yells were coming from. She shook her head, "Nevermind, I'll check. Please go back to enjoying yourselves everypony, I won't be a moment and then the show will begin!"

With that Lumi gave a short bow once again and trotted quickly towards the door. She hope nopony saw her as being rude with her constant flicking from onepony to the next but it seemed the evening was quickly getting more and more frantic as it went on. As she arrived at the front door she quickly noticed Rising Star but her attention was drawn more towards what she was shouting at. She looked up at the bird, taking a moment to realise what it was doing, "Hey! Get down from there!"

[OOC: Glad nobody referenced my OC earlier, I had a few tests to take and had to study instead of roleplaying]

What an inconvenient situation that was... On one side Star, a professional photographer from the Royal City, on the other Imperio, a whimsical pet which suddenly decided to go insane. "Imperio get down here already...!" - Star was truly starting to feel awkward. - "You're embarrassing me in front of the city walls!" She could have already imagined her pathetic photos hanging on the walls of her business opponents. It wasn't truly a most pleasant thought... Risi risked a quick glance at the area around observatory. It seemed to remain empty for now. It was such a luck that there was nopony who could see her now. Least for about 2-3 seconds, because one mare passed next to Star, keeping her distance and entering the building. Risi felt how stupid smile crawled up to her face, along with a blush of embarrassment.

As soon as mare disappeared inside the entrance, Star's face became a mask of pure, implied threat. "Get down here at once!" - she hissed through her teeth, feeling an impulse of magic flowing through her horn. Unicorn's magic covered Imperio's right wing. As soon as she was ready, she pulled it down using simple levitation spell. Imperio lost his balance for a second, but regained it quickly, breaking free from Star's spell. The sudden dispersion of magic made her cover instinctively while she massaged her horn. After a second of regaining consciousness, she found herself staring at the pet again and stomping her hooves against the ground due to sheer helplessness. "He's behaving like my sister when we were younger...!" - Star would never forget that period of time in which her sister insisted to be just like her... Filly used to take her belongings and refused to give them back. It was a source of so many fights between them... Pale pink unicorn kept staring at Imperio doing his job, while wondering if she could somehow find a solution to the situation. "It was always mum who separated us... it had to be a third pony around. But where I will fin-"

"Hey! Get down from there!"

The sudden appearance of an unknown voice caught Star off-guard. She shifted her vision to its source only to find a friendly looking, blue, even most definitely blue mare unicorn staring at the bird along. It shocked Risi thoroughly to spot that Imperio actually listened. Perhaps it was a distraction caused by an unknown voice pitch. She couldn't tell. But it seemed that Imperio resigned from toying with the banner and started gliding down... towards the blue mare. Risi saw through his intentions in an instant. "Oh no you won't." - she trotted calmly towards the blue mare, observing Imperio's flight. Just as the pet was preparing to shamelessly land on blue mare's back, what was quite a common behavior for him, Star's head appeared between him and his target. Caracara fluttered its wings, hanging itself in the air. Star threw him a stern look with a sparkle in her eyes. A sparkle that could turn into a thunder in any moment. "We need to talk." - her voice was colder than the touch of Windigo could ever become. It seemed that Imperio finally understood the trouble he pulled upon himself, as he meekly landed on Star's back and cowered avoiding tall mare's eyes.

Just a second later Risi was already facing a newcomer, throwing her a wide smile and emanating with positive energy. "My deepest apologies, I truly have no idea what possessed him today." - Unicorn straightened up, presenting herself at full height. "I'm Rising Star..." - she presented a shallow bow. In Canterlot one could never know who's he dealing with, and bowing cost her nothing. "...and this..." - she pointed her hoof at Imperio. At once, her voice became a bit more emotionless. "...is Imperio. Who's actually in trouble." The hoof landed back on the ground again. Few nearest ants got scared with a possibility of an earthquake upon the impact. Star might have been just a bit tense after the situation with her pet. She laughed nervously noticing her own condition.

Huscarl snarled slightly before stepping back a little, He wasn't even within the knowledge that he himself was making dents into the floor. His mood shifted to a more apologetic feel, he was a guest in this strangers new observatory after all.

"I'm.. Sorry I guess, It's hard being a dragon and all.... most of us have these impulses..." He said, while walking over to Lumi at the door (carefully this time, attempting not to dent the floor, though that was easier said than done, as even when he tired not to dent the floor, there was still slight evidence that his feet had hit the floor). "I guess we have got off to a wrong start, and I don't have hooves if you didn't notice. My name is......" Huscarl stopped when he got to the door, after noticing another pony outside the front of the observatory. "This a friend of yours or something?" being somewhat bewildered by the Unicorn and her seemingly interesting pets.

Lumi was so focussed on Rising Star and Imperio that she didn't notice Huscarl until he spoke. She jumped slightly, turning to look over her shoulder at the dragon.

"Ah well, no I don't know this pony...and don't worry about earlier, I'm just really really on edge tonight you know...big event and all," she said quickly before turning back towards Rising, "Nice to meet you, I'm Luminescence but do call me Lumi. Welcome to the Sapphire Lake Observatory. I take it you're here for the opening event? Do come inside now."

Lumi smiled broadly, turning back into the observatory as she continued to talk, "You too Mr Dragon, come on every pony!" Lumi began to trot into the observatories main room, raising her voice as she did, "Alright everypony gather round, gather round now. I'd like to welcome you all and also thank you for your support. I do hope you enjoy your evening."
