TempoMix
Art by me.Roleplay Type: Crossover RPName: Stencil SketchSex: MareAge: Young AdultSpecies: Earth PonyEye Colour: A dark, rusty orange kind of colour.Coat: Short stocky green coat.Mane/Tail: Stencil's mane is a bushy mess of short curly green tri-coloured hair that seems to permanently cover her eyes. She never stays with one style, some days it's a mess of dreadlocks or a wavy curtain of an afro or just a plain mess. Her hair has probably never seen a brush. Or a barber.Unlike her mane, Stencil's tail seems to be the only thing that seems to stay decent on the otherwise messy, careless mare. A short tri-coloured tail that curls up on the end. She's always seen with a white headset, the ear-part round and blocky. The band on the headset is positioned over her eyes, holding her messy hair pressed against her eyelids for maximum tripping experience. She also sports thick square piercing on each ear.Physique: Slightly taller then the average mare, Stencil is a bit on the chubby side with a rounder, wider muzzle. Stencil also has quite a few albeit almost unnoticeable freckles around her face, the colour of her coat and the curtain of hair covers it up. Often mistaken for a colt by her appearance and due to baby colic.Residence: ManehattanOccupation: Uni Student and Freelance ArtistCutie Mark: An orange spray-can over a blotch of paint. In her little town of New Hayseed, (Which was far from little), lived a trouble making filly by the name of Stencil Sketch. Late out one night, way past her curfew, little Stencil Sketch wandered through the dark, empty streets. She took a wrong turn at one point and found herself tumbling down a small hill, under a dirty, swampy bridge. It was then, when she sat up on her injured rump, was when she saw a peculiar strange object and the mysterious pony holding it.Behind this mysterious pony whose face could not be seen, were cans upon cans of empty spray paint. The wall was a vibrant splash of colour and big bold lines of black. The most beautiful mural of art ever known to a small little foal like Stencil Sketch. Upon seeing Stencil, the mysterious pony vanished, leaving behind various cans of spray paint. Taking the can in hoof, she stepped over to an empty wall, pushing the spray button down. The paint sprayed onto the wall, leaving a line of orange. Her eyes lit up, and she sprayed some more, slipping her headphones on. She painted to the beat of the music, tapping her hoof on the concrete or banging her head a little bit. It was getting to be morning, so she packed up what little paint she had left, and went home. The next day, she went back to her piece of art, and stopped dead in her tracks. In front of her wall, there were brand new cans of paint. She thought it may be that mysterious pony, but she'd never know. Day after day, she used all her cans and went back to her house, and day after day, there were new cans sitting in front of her piece. When she found she had finished her art, she looked upon it with approving eyes, smiling a smile as wide as she could manage. In a flash of light, there was her own art, imprinted on her flank. She had drawn her cutie mark! She ran all the way home to show everypony, with smiles as wide as she could make.Shortly afterwards, she'd found her love for drawing on other ponies homes, however, and decided it would be a good idea to vandalize the neighbor's house with her paint. See how he likes that after not giving her baseball back.History:Born and raised in a small town called New Hayseed. Where she lived for all her childhood and teenaged years before moving to grand ol' Manehattan. Her life back home was no different to any other little foal. An adventurous kid, always getting into trouble and usually the leader of gangs of little brats. Running on rooftops, spitting plum seeds at other ponies and just plain tempting fate. She was a hoof-full but an okay kid, with a huge imagination and cocky attitude, never letting the little things faze her.Even with her short coltish appearance, she never let anyone mess with her. Loud mouthed, brash and the first to throw herself in the middle of a brawl (and usually the one to start it). She was a tough little filly. As she grew up, things between her parents grew strained and after a few years, they separated. Their separation didn't affect her as bad as it does some but she grew to resent her father. It only got worse with the less contact he made with them over the years, especially after her little brother, Curly Twirl, was born. When she was a small filly, her father would always put her to bed with the radio playing, she could never go to sleep if there wasn't any kind of music going on. From that, her obsession with music began to grow and she got into listening to different types of genres the older she got. She would listen to thousands of different songs, from rap to classic, to techno and even indie. Her obsession grew to the point where she would always be seen with a pair of headphones. Hanging around street performers, sneak into bars where bands performed. Music was her oxygen. Every inch of her room would have posters of famous and underground artists, b-boys and . Hundreds of CDs all stacked together and even old vinyls sticking from every imaginable place possible, it was a mess and it drove her mother crazy. After graduating from High School, Stencil started taking art commissions to save up for Uni. With the help of her mother and a few of her friends, she was able to enroll to the University of Manehatten, where she is currently living today. But not even her busy life will ever stop this crazy mare of sneaking out at night to paint the walls green. Even if she's being chased by authority.Character Summary:Stencil Sketch is an easy going, laid-back gal. She's brash and loud but prefers not to speak much, since her voice tends to grate on her nerves sometimes. She's very mischievous, loves to play jokes and lands herself into trouble more often then not. Other ponies tend to get irritated being near her for long periods of time. Mostly due to her scratchy voice and brash personality, but she's a good pony with a huge heart.Stencil isn't the most patient of ponies, no scratch that, Stencil has the attention span of a gold fish and is easily distracted by the littlest of things. She has trouble keeping still and focused, unless its something that will hold her interest. She gets easily bored and very grumpy if she's not listening to music. She tends to keep to herself but is more then willing to hang out with other ponies, especially if food is involved. The more interesting and easy going somepony is, the more likely she'll hang around. Her cutie mark, consisting of an orange spray-can over a blotch of paint, represents her passion in the underground, under appreciated art of street art. Her talent is making the most vibrant, pleasing to the eye graffiti. Specializing on stencils, hens her name, Stencil Sketch prides herself in making her art something memorable, that other ponies will still remember even long after it's been taken down. Of course, a hobby like hers doesn't give her much brownie points in such a high class snobby city like Manehatten. Especially when most of them are technically considered vandalism. Still doesn't stop her from defacing Prince Blueblood's posters and sticking them for the world to see.Terrorizing the poor streets of Manehatten isn't all this wild mare does. She mostly spends her time hanging out at bars or at a music store when she isn't being swamped with school work. Sometimes she'll just be lazing in her messy room drawing the hours away with her rap music blasting off her headphones. A thing she is never seen without.Art by Appliance A HUGE THANK YOU TO STARBUSTER.He helped a WHOLE bunch with this, thank you man! Conor Colton
Hey, Tempo. Nice to see you're looking to get into RPing, and I rather like your choice of character. I do have a few suggestions though that could help develop this app and get you on the RP Forums First off, her town of origin, "New Hayseed". Sorry to break it to you but from what I can see, from Canterlot's RP canon there is no such town, and saying it in an app doesn't really make it exist. I would suggest either placing her in a town close to Manehatten or just have her birth place be Manehatten itself. If you need to know where locations are in relation to each other, here's a map of Canterlot's current Mane RP Canon:http://www.canterlot.../Map_Normal.jpg Now as for her talent, spray cans and or spray paint aren't part of Mane RP from what I know, especially when it may involve unlawful actions that end up getting the authorities involved as you said. I would suggest sticking to a more traditional means of her to express her passion, like a simple paint brush for example; that would allow her to express her talent through art with her own pieces and possibly still murals, the graffiti thing will likely have to go though since it's not really used in Mane RP. You don't have to give up her passion or her talent entirely, but I would suggest reworking it so it fits more into RP guidelines. And one more thing, CDs are too technological for Equestria and we've yet to see any in the show. I would advise sticking to vinyls in terms of music I hope this has helped, and if you need anything else to get Stencil moving along here, just let me know
TempoMix
Ooops, I've been editing Stencil's bio like a few thousand times last night that I forgot a few things. She's for Crossover RP. I was making a Tier 3 Pony for Mane on the same file, must of gotten it mixed up. Do I still change her cutie mark and the New Hayseed thing? Since I wanted to use a town or village that was near Manehatten but there wasn't any and I really don't want to change her Cutie Mark.
Conor Colton
Well, that changes things then Since she's Crossover you can keep it how you please, there's no real set rules for Crossover so you can make her as whacky and zaney as your heart desires. The only thing you have to watch out for is it being appropriate for all ages, still gotta keep yourself on the ball on that one.As for the town and the cutie mark, like I said, no real set rules so you can make up and include what you please for her So, you don't have to change much, other than make her apped for Crossover, which you've already done.I can see this app being pretty good to go now under these circumstances, I would advise as a quick touch up to maybe include how she interacts with other ponies, like socially, and possibly how her interest in music began. Glad the confusion was cleared up
TempoMix
Thanks!I fixed a few things, added how her interest in music started and how she is with other ponies as suggested. I hope it's alright!
