Roleplay Type: Mane Rp

Name: ShadowSound

Sex: Male

Age: Older Colt

Species:Pegasus

Eye colour: A vibrant yellow, contrasting well against his midnight coat. And his slit shaped pupils.

Coat: A sleek midnight black. Can often be seen with a Blue and silver Headset around his neck.

Mane/Tail:

A cool raven colour hanging along the right side of his face, the length reaching just above his shoulder could be considered shaggy or possibly unkempt. It has natural neon blue highlights sectioning off parts of the Mane, the colour contrast at times making it appear to shine.

His tail like most pony's matches his Mane it's length is that to the top of his Ankles. The hair sweeps like that of a brush stroke keeping its natural raven colour along the outside it has its neon blue hue along the innards of the tail matching the sweeping styled look of its black counter part.

Physique: A tall colt since he was young he has kept this as he aged along with a strong but slim build.

Residence: Cloudsdale

Occupation: Shadow currently works as a weather pony, though he has managed to keep his work time limited to the storms as he is fond of creating lighting and the booming thunder that comes with it often giving it a melodic rhythm.

Cutie Mark: A neon Blue eighth note is Shadow's cutie mark. Since was born he was always making odd sounds or humming tunes. As he grew this slowly turned into a habit for him, creating new harmonious sounds, or interestingly unique voices though he never seemed to do any of this in front of any other pony. It wasn't util a filly friend of his was holding a talent show that he showed his talents he used his many voices to make the other ponys laugh, his friend having gotten sick the day of left him to fill in for her and perform with the group she was going to sing with.

He started out a bit rocky not sure how to react in front of others. Seeing the smiles and laughter of the other ponies made him feel good and that's when he decided he wanted to continue to make unique sounds, wither singing, creating music, or voices he wanted to do it. And that's when it happened, in front of the other ponies on stage that his cutie mark appeared, a music note marking his admiration for sound.

History:

Shadow was born to a Pegasus and Earth Pony couple within Las Pegasus there he grew up until he was old enough to leave home. That's when he decided he wanted to venture out on his own, he was supported by his parents financially when needed and did odd jobs in the places he stopped to help with the bits. He enjoyed traveling and seeing many new places, he spent time within the cities of Fillydelphia, ManeHattan, and Cloudsdal where he now calls his home.

Growing up he had a hard time making friends, he was socially awkward and still is to a point, being a bit shy but once opening up can be the best kind of friend. A lot of his awkwardness stemmed from his unease twords his odd habits humming, singing, or speaking with an odd voice. This was coupled with his continual traveling when he left home. Though he now pursues friendship as best he can.

His father was once a solider in Canterlot his mother worked as a weather pony. When he was born they moved and that took them to Las Pegasus. His parents were vary caring and pushed him to strive for his dreams and to be kind to those he met, always giving them the chance to prove themselves as good. Other than his parents he is not sure if he had any other family.

He enjoyed traveling but now is usually seen flying around Cloudsdal or near one of the surrounding cities. He plays music and is almost always seen with a headset around his neck, or singing/ Talking into a microphone. After the return of Luna, she quickly became his favorite of the Princesses and he stays awake late into the night to enjoy the gift she brings to Equestria.

Shadow attended a flight school when he was young and is now a top grade flyer. Though his focus is usually on music, or the next unique voice to come from his throat, he has never once shirked his duties in storm control being a very responsible pony even with his usual lazy attitude. Though for now he works with weather to pay the bills, he would like to began performing for larger crowds singing, or acting so he can bring joy to more within the world but hasn't yet created his first big piece to push him to that point, so he is content for the time being.

Character Summary:

ShadowSound is a very fun loving colt at heart, pranking other ponies, hanging out with those whom he is able to make friends with, making ponies laugh at his voices, singing or creating new, loud, and bass filled beats for the ponies to dance to are always things he enjoys. When it comes to flying he lives by the term "Go fast, or go home" often enjoying a good race or two between working on weather control. His most beloved part of this job, creating loud flashy and powerful lighting storms. Shadow also enjoys stargazing late at night.

His motivation isn't always set in stone, some days its to bring smiles to every pony he meets, others it may be to create a new powerful storm, it all depends on the day and how his mood is. But in every case its never to hurt any pony.

When Shadow sees a pony being picked on or bullied,even more so by those older than their victim he can't help but get angry. Often going out of his way to stop the bulling.

Though he loves to create storms he isn't a fan of the rain.

He enjoys music but country and most classical don't appeal to him.

Though some may consider his trusting nature in a ponies good side a good trait it at times puts him in bad situations and makes him slowly lose trust in ponies when they show their darker or cruel sides, not to say he has his own. Though he doesn't try and hurt any ponies feelings his lack of thinking before speaking can often put him on the wrong side of a conversation quickly. He also is horrid at combing his mane and tail after a nap or bed often having bed head.

Shadows biggest two fears are that he will be alone, his awkward social behavior usually only gains him a few friends and he is always worried he may do something to end up alone. He lived in the shadows for a short time depressed and normally keeping to himself. Always afraid he may do or say something that his friends wont like and they will leave him.

His other fear is that his cutie mark was a mistake, and he may not really be good at creating music, or bringing laughter or joy to others with his unique voices. And that he may wake up one day to it being gone and have to try and re-find himself and what he is good at.

Hi Shadowsound! Looking over this app, overall it is strong but there are a few issues I can see from the start. First of all, you left the 'Residence' field blank. Your pony has to live somewhere, as a Pegasus, he could live in Cloudsdale, for example. Second, in your pony's background you mention his father guarding the Moon Palace. THEN you wrote later on that Shadowsound FOUND the Moon Palace and decided to live there. Then you mention his dream as a colt was meeting Princess Luna. Well, since the defeat of Nightmare Moon/Return of Princess Luna is a fairly recent event, he couldn't have had those dreams as a colt. Also, how could his dad be a guard at the Moon Palace when Princess Luna had not returned yet? You just need to rewrite these sections to reflect these facts. Also, just to let you know, it's against the rules for any OC to have a relationship with a FiM Cast character (unless you have the permission of their RPer). Still, overall, this is a very good start! Keep working at it! :D:D:D

Haha alright thanks for the tips. I wasn't sure if the moon palace was an acceptable place to be residence and didnt know whom to ask. Ill get to fixing this right away. Also i didn't relize that was a rule or the time line of the rp world Sorry.

Hi there! :)

I've taken a look at the application, and while it's close there are still a few little problems I have with it. Allow me to highlight a few selections real quick:

The phrasing here is kind of off. I'm not sure it's the intention but the first sentence makes it sound like all pegasi are expected to work in weather, which is certainly not the case. This should probably be clarified. Additionally, the second sentence is kind of confusing. Melodic makes me think sounds, in which case it would probably be more accurate to say he's creating thunder. Rhythm is also misspelled.

We don't really have any rules against a character's parents dying, but in this case I'm not seeing what it really adds to the character and you should know that it's not really necessary; no one will expect you to ever write applications for or even mention the character's parents. Moreover, the story seems kind of hard to swallow. If the character was orphaned at a young age, why was he moving so much? Who supported him through this time? Ponies in the WoE game typically won't have jobs until they're adults. They need some means to support themselves. The situation here really doesn't seem to add up as it is. It needs some work to be allowable.

Shadow now attends a flight school, or is supposed to though he often skips out to go flying on his own as he never joined a flight team, though he knows the school is important and has never once shirked his duties in storm control being a very responsible pony even with his usual lazy attitude. Reading the first paragraph, I wonder why he doesn't want to work as a musician of some sort. Why be a weather pony at all, if his passion and his cutie mark even are all about sounds and music? Does he plan to in the future? The last sentence makes it sound like maybe he does, but it's kind of vague and hard to understand. I mean, I guess there's no problem with a pony being really into both weather stuff and music, but why choose the former instead of the latter?

I'm not sure I get the part about the flight school here though. What is this flight school for? I'd assume if he's already working as a weather pony he knows how to fly more than competently. If it's some sort of advanced flight school, why is he enrolled if he doesn't want to go. Not all pegasi are expected to be or want to be Rainbow Dash. It just seems kind of disconnected.

Other than that, you're pretty good. The character summary all seems solid enough. Just clarify these areas some and you should be on the road to an approval stamp.

Okay, it's much clearer now. Very much improved. :)

There's just one thing that leaves me kind of confused now. Are the parents still dead? You wrote that out of the first paragraph of the history but the second paragraph still mentions them passing. I just want to be sure what the intent is there before I give a stamp.
