AzalR75
A bit of Tremors mixed with a flying crocodile? Also, going to let Crazy Horse lead off with this one. This is his land, and for Ferrou it will be -REALLY- foreign to her.

Blueblood
Right, then. I'll keep going with a social scene with Crazy Horse's parents while we figure out XP distribution; I want to have everything sorted out before I have to use any motes. AzalR75
I can understand that. I'm sitting on "do I want that skill? Or that one? Or do I want to hold out for charms?"
Blueblood
Well, I've already got one sewn up for "Memory of Past Life" (forget what it's called exactly). I'd like to put one more point in presence, due to all the near-misses I've gotten, and then wait and see. I may just save up for the next level of essence, since I've already gotten as far as I can on the War Charm tree without getting another.
Bramble Rose
I'm not sure if Crazy Horse is deliberately lying, if Rackenhammer made a mistake, or if Azal or I mis-spoke at some point in time, but Ferrou and her troops are actually from the Southeast jungles. Blueblood
Honest mistake. I can edit that quickly.
Bramble Rose
Ah, heck. You guys have been doing awesome, and these acts are taking a lot longer than it would around the table. Take another 4 xp each.
Blueblood
OK, so I want to make sure I'm spending this right:1 point is sewn up for a past lives perk, due to IC action.I'm bumping up my Presence Caste Skill by 1 level, how many points does that take?If I have enough points after that, can I go from Essence 2 to Essence 3, and how many points would I have left over? Bramble Rose
I'd say that getting a new background with xp actually costs 2 xp, not just one. XP and initial creation bonus points are two different things.Essence costs 8x the current essence level. So from 2 -> 3 costs 16 xp.
Blueblood
Gotcha, so, 3 points spent, 9 banked.

AzalR75
Okay, figured it out, bumping up crafts Air, fire, water up to 3 and occult up to 2 should use all my XP.
Bramble Rose
I think Crazy Horse's moment of realization was perfectly done there. Just this stunned realization and kinda hollowness.

Bramble Rose
Just as an aside - I want to make sure it's understood that the Dragonblooded had just happened by along the road at exactly the time that Ferrou and Crazy were confronting the guards. They just kept walking since there was nothing to see there, traveling for someplace East. They didn't stop at the manorhouse. Just some weird coincidence. Blueblood
Understood; Crazy Horse was just wondering why they would be in the city at all, and is slightly paranoid.
AzalR75
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean there isn't an invisible demon out to eat your face.So if you'll excuse me I'm going to wrap up to be a tinfoil burrito, I don't think a hat is enough. Bramble Rose
Ahhh. There's always been an Immaculate Monastery in Chiaroscuro. The Blessed Isle has spread its tendrils across most of creation - and most cities just have to accept it because otherwise the Realm can force the matter. The only real defense against that is to make it too much trouble for the Blessed Isle to force itself, either by tributary that means the realm is getting something anyway, or by being too far away to bother with, or by being too strong to approach. Since Chiaroscuro is on the shore immediately south of the Blessed Isle, as close as one can get, and is not in possession of any (working) first age defenses, and is not in possession of any particularly exotic resources ... they're kinda stuck with the Immaculates having a fairly powerful stronghold in the city. Blueblood
Hm, OK, I think I got that now. Wasn't quite familiar with the political background of the setting.
AzalR75
Oh man, I have an answer for everything here... one guaranteed to have the Wyld Hunt on us. This is definitely for the charisma characters, lead off Crazy Horse before I get us in trouble XD

Blueblood
Reply will be a little slow in coming, I have to go back and read the whole thread to make things clear for Crazy Horse's report.By the way, what are the mechanics behind launching a flurry of attacks to wear down social defenses rather than strike through them? I'm thinking about using the report as a means of delivering one to the Thri-Khan, to make him more receptive to Crazy Horse's suggestions later. Bramble Rose
Same as for physical attacks. -(X-1) for the first attack, where X is the number of attacks, and increase the penalty by 1 for each subsequent attack. (IE: 3 attacks = -2, -3, -4)
