When Spike explained that the beetles ate most of his best comics, Derpy couldn't help but grimace. "Yikes. That's rough."
She gave a small chuckle at his little joke. It was admirable that he could make humor out of such a bummer-tastic situation. Not sure how well she'd fare if the beetles ate any of her prized possessions. Probably just throw a blanket over her head and mope in a corner somewhere. Pinkie Pie noticed him too, and seemed upset about the Power Ponies' issue 115 Silver Edition being destroyed. Jeez louise, that one sounded rare. Oh man, poor Spike. She wished there was something she could do, but since they were stuck in a castle surrounded by hordes of beetles, there wasn't much she could do at the moment. Maybe after all this was over Spike could list all the comics he lost so she could help him replace them.

 

When the issue of transportation got Pinkie's attention, she nonchalantly revealed a full sized pedal plane sitting right in one of the castle's many rooms the whole time. Derpy's eyes, and smile, grew wide as can be. The candy themed flying machine was so...majestic! It was perfect! At least she thought so, until the others expressed their skepticism. By the way things were looking, they were going to have to unfortunately find something else. Derpy was looking a little dejected until Twilight and Applejack actually gave it the 'OK.'
 

"Yes!" She couldn't help but blurt out. She walked up to the aircraft and realized it had Griffonchaser II painted on the side. An awesome name for awesome machine. As she further examined it, she noticed the striped tubes were so candy like. Almost too candy like. As Derpy stared, she couldn't help but wonder if it actually was candy. As she drew closer, her curiosity was amplified. There was only one way to find out, wasn't there? She glanced around for a moment before sticking out her tongue and licking the stripey structure.
