Unique Traits

  • November has been taught from a young age, and learned from around Equestria, various mixtures and concoctions to cure many ailments, using plants or common ingredients.
  • He has a competent understanding of basic healing magic, which he uses to supplement his other cures.
  • After carrying packs around to the far corners of the nation, November is not unfamiliar to hardship or walking long distances. He is now physically accustomed to doing so.
  • November is usually quick thinking, and knows how to defend himself on the road. However, defending is where it stops.

History: November was born and raised in Manehattan, in a small apothecary shop near the park. He never knew his mother well, since she fell ill and died shortly after he was born. This was a hard toll on his father, even more so that it seemed he had failed as a healer, and as a husband. But he was still a father, and assumed the roles of both parents in November's upbringing. From day one, he was learning the ins and outs of his father's work, who let him help out with the customers and the practices. As he grew older, he would enjoy reading the many books they had on plants with healing properties, and different ways they could be used. Since his father was an earth pony, however, he had to go to school to learn magic.

November was no outstanding student by any means, he tried his best but it seemed never enough. One day, just as a blank-flank colt minding the shop while his father went down to the market, some distressed ponies came in with an elderly stallion, who they said was suffering from a stroke. In a panic, somewhat unsure of himself, November began to get all the ingredients out to make the potion he was formulating in his head, remembering just how his father did it. Much to the relief of all, the potion managed to save the stallion, who was very thankful. His father beamed with pride when he discovered what had happened. In the later years of his youth, when he was able to specialize and refine his magical skills, he began to learn new ways of combining the healing of his magic with that of the elixirs he could create. This proved interesting to him, and a valuable addition to their shop.

When November began to reach adulthood, he started to get depressed. The loneliness was tolerable, as he had his father with him, despite the fact they were always busy running the medicinal shop, but November yearned for something more. He knew there was a whole world out there, and he had only been out of the city a few times. However, he did not want to upset his father, as much as the idea of staying in that same shop for the rest of his life depressed him. Eventually, he gathered the courage to voice his troubles. His father was a little sad, at first, but understood. He had felt much the same way when he was young, and had traveled far and wide, learning the many secrets of medicine he had yet to discover. He joked that it would be a good advertising pitch, and that November could learn more than he had with "that darned horn 'o ya's". Despite the happy tone, he knew his father was going to miss him a lot. A few days later, November said farewell to his father and the shop, and laden with saddlebags full of equipment and wares, he set out for anywhere.

He went wherever, and sometime where-never, the road went. Far and wide, he accumulated knowledge and experience of different lands, the plants and the vast varieties of spells Equestria had to offer. He visited his father every now and then, but mostly stayed out in the wilderness, sleeping in trees, or under overhangs. When he arrived at a new town, he would offer his service and knowledge, along with a recommendation of the old apothecary in Manehattan. Soon, however, he'd be on his way to the next town. That was, until, he visited Ponyville. Never had he before seen such a lovely little town, so different to the big city, but so nice. All the folk were friendly, though they didn't take too much notice of him. Ponies passed through the place all the time on their way to other towns or cities. November settled down in a small log cabin off the outskirts of town, and kept to himself. But his lust for adventure was yet to be sated, as he once again set out on the road. Who knows where he'll end up next?

Character Summary/Personality: November is usually rather steadfast, mostly friendly, and a little witty. He is often eager to hear someone's stories, and has a respect for those who also lead adventurous lives. While having an appreciation for those who seize opportunity, he despises those who refuse to make an honest living, and resort to theft or the like. November does not usually get mad easily, rather he deflects any verbal abuse away from himself, and would seem to not care. However, this is not always the case, and like all other ponies, he does have a temper and a bad side, which brings out his worst qualities. He can often come across as condescending, or ignorant. In certain ways, he is. November doesn't do so well with mares, however, having had no mother or sisters, or really much interaction with the opposite gender.

((I hope this is satisfactory. If not, please notify me and I'll see about doing my best to fix it! Also, I apologize for not having a picture. I'm not exactly gifted in drawing or painting, even on a computer. Perhaps if anyone had the time and the effort, they'd be able to do so for me? Wishful thinking, I bet.))
