Octavia couldn't help but give a broad smile as she entered what would be the headquarters of her very own musical touring company. A large entrance hall and reception room dominated most of it, opened all the way to the top of the two story building. It was flanked by a few smaller rooms as well as a door to a basement, each room being big enough for a single purpose and the basement being as big as the entire first floor without anything in the way. To the back of the room was a single large staircase that doubled back on the way up to the second floor, which had a few more rooms as well as a functioning recreational area near the staircase and beds along the wall on the western side of the second floor wall. All together the space was rather perfect for her ambitions, compact and yet spacey enough for her imagination to roll about in endless bliss. What could be? What could she do with such a space?

She loved it, even if there was a reason she got it at a good price. The basement had a slight flooding problem due to cracks in the foundation. But there were ways to negate any potential problem that could result from that. The rooms- the whole building in fact- was structural sound but some of the doors were broken and cobwebs and knocked over drinks and various insects and mice skittering from place to place. Indeed, they scattered as the door opened, save for some of the smaller spiders which didn't seem to take notice of her presence at all. It was in their predatory swings in the air as the flow from the door moved them that Octavia saw the greater subtext: What was once a mess could equally become grand with effort, just as with effort a meek spider could become a glorious hunter.

She arrived several hours before it was to officially open and went about cleaning it methodically, the rhythm of her movements intertwining the smooth and precise movements of a classical piece with the staccato, machine-gun beats of Vinyl's sound. She swept, mopped, and dusted the entire facility in what could only be described as a precision strike of movement and chaos. By the end, covered in her own sweat and with deep breaths, she contemplated the spider from earlier. She had let him go outside and then destroyed his beautiful web. No more predatory weaving, no violence inherent in motion and sound. This was a place of passion, but of love, of excitement, and the time of the predator had gone. Tossing her cleaning supplies into a closet and cleaning herself as best she could, Octavia trotted to the front door and unlocked, ready and willing to engage her fellows in the art of music once more.

Vinyl had not really had any idea what to expect when arriving at the building - Octavia had notified her of its location and invited her to come along as part of the general comeradery that was to transpire within...and at first, she wasn't quite sure if the mare was having a brilliant idea, or one that was utterly ridiculous. Such a cheaply bought location had to have some downsides that you WEREN'T told, right?

Still, Octavia had reassured her that everything would 'be fine' - and coming from Octy that was a pretty big endorsement that maybe everything WOULD be fine in the end...the grey earthpony mare was usually pretty good about knowing what she was doing so that was probably about as rock solid argument as it got since she rarely did anything TOO haphazardly. Still, Vinyl snerked inwardly, considering the fact that Octavia had invited HER along in the first place...well, maybe the whole bit about her decisions being well thought out was not entirely without a few flaws.

Of course she'd brought a basic setup with her - some small musical equipment pieces, a few well-kept Vinyls of personal choice, and a few other small necessities. She didn't really intend on bringing massive amounts of stuff, since it made no sense to just lug everything with her at once even if she DID use telekinesis for the most part. She'd get a good sense of how the room would accomodate more stuff later on, but right now she just wanted to bring a few essentials to use and practice with whilst derpin' around in Octavia's l'il locale. Fortunately, the Unicorn DJ had arrived just at the time the door opened...looks like she'd gotten the right address at least, the sight of Octavia confirming she'd not gotten the wrong place or side of town!

" Heeey, good morning you!! " Vinyl comments, making her way to the door and peeking her head inside for a moment before Octavia could even get a response fired off.

" Looks nicer than I thought it might - maybe you actually DID find a good deal on this joint, I'm impressed...guess we just kinda wait an' see who else turns up to this l'il rendezvous, eh? "

Vinyl entered in her usual good spirits, her sweet voice echoing off the soft wood of the music hall with all the sweet serenity of a symphony at rest. At least to Octavia- she knew some ponies found themselves twisting in aural agony whenever Vinyl entered, but some pony's pain was Octavia's most thankful gain. They had been together long enough for Octavia to have full faith that Vinyl's musical prowess would be a powerful and lasting addition to their troupe. This so called 'dubstep' was the new dance craze of the nation. She valued the hard work of all artists who were able to wring emotion out of the populace through the raw power of music. It was hard to work it into Octavia's style but that just meant she had to think outside the box and consider new harmonic values and interchanges between tune and tone.

What wasn't hard was working Vinyl into Octavia's heart, which against other ponies had formed a wall that had been almost impossible to breach with whatever weapons of love were used. Somehow Vinyl had sapped her defenses and broken through and she was more than happy to throw her hooves up and surrender to this impossible force of powerful and consistent love. It was a sweet life of blissful, passionate submission when you could find such a force and Octavia was ready and willing to give a little part of herself to the unbridled passion she shared with Vinyl. It was a good life to lead and sharing a love of music with her partner made the whole experience so much more intoxicatingly wonderful, something she wouldn't trade for all the instruments in the Saraneighvo orchestra.

“Vinyl,” Octavia said as she trotted over to her love, a handkerchief tying her mane back as the last environs of sweat rolled down her body, “I did everything I could to tidy this place up before we started to do the real work of making this building worthy of the troupe,” she said, kissing Vinyl shamelessly and passionately, both legs wrapped around Vinyl's shoulders. After a few seconds she allowed herself to pull away, smiling as she looked around. “The others should be around soon. I'm so happy we could get this going- after everything we've sacrificed, nice to finally see the next stage present itself. Have you heard from them? I want to make sure we can move in the instruments and prepare the first practice and session work soon,” Octavia said excitedly, her voice taking on an unusual amount of flavor to it.

It was always a good time guaranteed when met with Octavia's passions - the earth pony mare was one of those who had many a passion and enjoyment with the things she involved herself with, and this project seemed to be something that had a keen promise of only furthering the musically inclined bundle of hotstuff who had delivered her usual potent kissin's and affections...something that Vinyl was always definitely grateful to give back as good as she got. Still, once the embrace had eased up and the conversation became more related to what Octavia was doing, Vinyl paid attentive heed before responding - she couldn't lie, she was looking forward to seeing what happened with this too.

" I've heard from a couple, but it looks like they're all probably held up or somethin'. " she says with a small raise of an eyebrow. " Sometimes things happen that way, I tell ya...been there myself.

Rubbing her muzzle, she ponders her surroundings for a moment. " There's a bunch of stuff we're gonna have to move in, though...s'gonna be a big ol' pain in the flank - I remember when I started gettin' stuff into my l'il home studio some time back...that was a fun time.

Still, Vinyl was also looking forward to helping a few acts make their way to her studio setup here when it was finished - she wanted t'help get some canterlot club folks get a little bit finer tuned before really struttin' their stuff out in the wilderness that was the scenes at manehattan and las pegasus, the real testing grounds of any pony who wanted to get settled as part of the Equestrian nighttime scene. The way things were gonna be all set here, she was sure that there would be many chances to help out any poor shmoe who needed a place to perhaps refine their sets and decide how best to tackle the fickle ponyfolks of any club on the landscape.

" Hoooopefully some of 'em turn up soon. " she says, giving a playful nudge to the receiver of her general affections. " otherwise we're gonna look silly standing here doing nothin' much at all! "

It would be like their friends to find themselves caught up in some form of chicanery and machinations while finding their way to the newest musical company in town's headquarters. She was devoted to the ideals of a beautiful symphony that worked together without flaw or tempest, but she didn't have the ability to pluck leading musicians out of an eager line of candidates. She had to take whomever offered themselves and while they were all intensely skilled- she would deny entry to those she did not believe could produce classics in whatever field they straddled- she wwas sure there were reasons why they weren't tied to already existing musical companies. She would hate to saddle them with the title of unreliable partners but there were other things she could conjure up that could leave some of them without a support system in place.

Octavis sighed as she buried herself in the small of Vinyl's neck, placing a short lick along the base before falling back. "I do hope so. It would be a rather poor start for the company if all those who we signed ran off with the bonuses they got for joining the company. Our finances are not necessarily so freely spent," she said, catching herself before the environs of bitterness could ache into her worry. She smiled. "But I'm sure you're right, Vinyl. They'll just be a little late is all, and then we can get to the real work of setting this company up for success!" Octavia almost yelled, neighing excitedly. Now that the future was open to her with a clear path if she wished to take it, she was certain of her ability to pull through. And with Vinyl with her, how could the company fail?

Well, it would fail if they didn't get everything in position. That was certain. Octavia knew that the hard work that lay in front of them was just as arduous as what she had just accomplished and even that would be the easy part. Past the physical act of moving was the mental and emotional toll that team bonding would take. To become a true force they had to reforged as musicians par excellence as well as brothers and sisters in the sound of life. But before all that- well, yes. They would need to move everything in and that would be difficult with just two ponies. It could be done, but the others wouldn't have use of the bar after this. And it'd be a waste if it was just the two of them. They had a house they could do this at! "Yes, we do. We'll wait a little while longer and then move everything in. If we do it ourselves, we aren't allowing the rest to get drinks from the bar for the first week!"

It wasn't long before the suave and dapper dressed Saxbird of Manehatten city stepped in with his usual White suit jacket with the Argyle embroidery along the cuffs, and a matching fedora. Though the moment his head poked through the door, it recoiled with his eyes widening for just a moment. He certainly wasn't expecting this large entrance. And he certainly wasn't expecting it to be empty. And not in the customer department. He barely saw any furniture. And if there were some, it was probably a few courtesy chairs. Heck, Leonard Wingstrong would wager that the place opened up not even a day after it was bought. Yep, quite a bit of work was needed before this little shin-dig found it's self at it's primes.

But, it did just open today. So he'll give the company a break when it came to aesthetics. Or the presence of other ponies for that matter. The avian-feline stepped down the hall, slowly lookin all around. The claws of his talons clicked away at the hard floor, making little invisible but audible percussive notes in the air. A long high pitched whistle escaped his beak just before he made a comment. “Nice digs, sweety” he hummed softly with a suave note. One of his talons reached behind himself to pull a Sax off of his back and lean it against a nearby wall before stepping away from it.

“A little on the empty side it seems. But no worries. I've got a compadre waitin outside with some equipment we might need. Had plenty of spare gear lyin around the club. And I figured it'd be best used here. A few carry instruments. A spare Grand piano. And plenty of sound proofing foam.”
