Name: Glady Leaf

Age: 16

Species: Earth Pony

Gender: Female

Appearance: She's a bit taller than a pony of the same age. Although very strong, it doesn't show on her body. She'll appear normal like the others. Her coat is of a pale blue color and her mane and tail are almost completely white. Her mane falls on the right side of her head where it curls up at the end. The frontal part of her mane points to the left. Her eyes are purple and not round like other ponies, but goes mostly toward the almond shape. She has a few accessories as well. A ribbon on her head and a bow on the beginning of her tail. Both are purple and her ribbon also has a pink stripe that goes through it all.

Cutie Mark: A gladiolus leaf slightly crossed with a hammer.

History: Glady grew up in a small village apart from the others and not visited much. Her two parents wanted the perfect child. They taught her how to remain kind with others, they taught her good manners and all of that... Glady was following well what she was told and was delicate with the others.

At school it was difficult for her to make friends because of her too polite attitude. She was being careful not to offend anyone and it was becoming hard to start a conversation with others of her age because she feared she may offend them. So she decided to stay quiet instead. But all of this caught the attention of another filly. This filly approached Glady and began to talk to her. Her name was Alicia. At first Glady was not sure, but the more they talked, the more she saw she could trust this filly. They became fast friends then and Alicia began to show a few tricks that would allow Glady to communicate better with the others. Glady appreciated greatly.

But the more the days passed, the more Glady was losing of her ''perfection'' that her parents so wanted her to have. One day at school, Alicia brought a present to Glady to show that their friendship was very important to her. They were two accessories. One ribbon that went on her head and the other was a bow that went on her tail. The bow on the tail was the same as Alicia, only purple instead of pink. As for the ribbon, it was an extra. This made Glady be extrememly happy and she wanted to repay her by giving her something as well. For Alicia's birthday, Glady had found her a hair accessorie too. A white flower that she could put on the side of her mane. Yet eventually Alicia had to leave the town for a while with her family. It was unknown for when she would come back.

And then... Glady's mother fell ill. She had caught a virus affecting her voice. If it kept going like this, she could officially lose it. The doctors didn't know what to do exactly. They could only recommend her to drink water frequently as well as hot liquids to keep the throat humid and also to be careful not to force the vocal chords to avoid damaging them. The father decided to try something else. A potion shop existed in the village. So he went their with his wife and daughter. Inside the shop there were vials, flasks and all sort of small containers with colorful liquids in them. There was even a cauldron hidden at the back of the shop. So the father explained the situation to the shopkeeper. Meanwhile Glady decided to look around the place since she had nothing else to do. The cauldron was a real eye-catcher... and she decided to get to it without being noticed. Once at the cauldron she wanted to see what was simmering in it, but she was too small to look inside. She had to find something... and as she looked around she found a small step that she could climb on. But even with that she was still too small to look inside, yet at least she was able to hold herself up against the cauldron's edge. She only needed a little push and she'd be able to satisfy her curiosity... which she did. This push, though, was a bit too much. She accidentally kicked the step to the side, leaving her hanging on the cauldron's edge. The extra weight that she added made the cauldron slowly tilt towards her until it would be enough to fall all over her, covering her in the mixture that was inside of it... The loud sound created by all of this caught everyone's attention in the store and they immediately went to Glady to check on her. Caughing a little and having a little of the hiccups because she swallowed too much of it, she was fine overall, thankfully. But she didn't get out of this one without a punishment...

A few days later Glady went to school sullenly, not wanting to do anything. Her best friend was still out of town too. When recess came, Glady put herself alone in a corner of the school yard, near some woods and rocks. There she tried to see what she could do, but all she thought about was to hit something since she was living frustration and she just wanted... to punch things. Without really thinking about it she punched a rock slightly, without really putting in any force so she'd avoid hurting herself. Yet to her great surprise when her hoof reached the rock... it cracked. Surprised by what happened, Glady stared at it for a second before trying to punch it again, this time putting in some more force. The rock completely broke. Glady looked at her hoof and then the rock only to realise that she was the one who did that. She tried it again on another one... and bam. It broke too. This way Glady discovered that she had incredible strength. She couldn't tell how it happened, but she was happy to be able to do that. Not too long after that, her cutie mark appeared, showing a gladiolus leaf slightly crossing with a hammer.

Once back home, Glady was excited to show this to her mother and father. The both of them wondered what it really meant, so she'd show them! This time she didn't break something, but lifted something that is heavy in normal circumstances. Something that any filly her age wouldn't be able to lift up. And she managed to do it with little effort. Her parents were... terrorised. Because of this they didn't stop to really think and instead thought that their daughter had become a brute and that they had failed to educate her properly. They didn't mind to call her a monster at that moment, and that she was not the daughter they loved so much anymore. Glady was completely demolished by what they were saying... and she quit her home, then her village. She wanted to find a better place, with better ponies. Luckily for her she found Ponyville, a place not too far from her village, where she was easily accepted and eventually put in a foster family.

Personality: She has a strong personality. She won't hesitate to say things in a straightforward manner. She'll always be there for the ones she loves and will always put herself at risk for their well-being. She can appear as a brute at first, but she doesn't mean to hurt anyone... that is unless you hurt her friends. In that case you may receive a punch in the face. So she'll always be there for the others. She really cares for the well-being of the others and can easily worry for them because of this.

Summary: She is strong, resistant and always ready to go forward! Glady Leaf grew tired of her life where she had to be the nice little princess. It was thanks to Alicia that Glady became less of this and thanks to that potion that she became who she is today. Still wanting to see her friend, though, she is often busy and lives well with her new family. Because of the events of her youth she hates her real parents enough for wishing to never see them again. Thanks to her new life in Ponyville too, there she met with Seria and Violet with who she grew up.

As said already, Glady is the type who'll protect anyone from danger. With her hammer she won't hesitate to show her strength to those threatening to be mean, or even a simple stomp on the ground can be enough. Speaking of which, Glady found a hammer that belonged to a Diamond Dog while she was on her way to Ponyville. She wanted to see if she could lift it, and she could. Not even a full grown-up stallion could lift it, or would have trouble doing so.

She likes to be as free as she can be, given she couldn't really do that when she was younger. So she'll allow herself to express her feelings freely and say what she thinks straightforward. Oh and if you ever hurt one of her friends... prepare to be sent in a world of pain.
