SeaJay
Name: SprigGender: Male Age: StallionSpecies: Earth PonyEye Colour: Pale BlueCharacter Colour: Has a snowy white coat. He is often seen with a dark red tie around his neck and is never without his circular black shades.Mane/Tail/Other: A soft pastel green in both mane and tail. Mane is cut short and has a soft look about it. He owns a rather odd looking tail for it can closely be associated to that of a cotton-tailed rabbit.Physique: Slightly taller than the average height of a stallion his age, he stands on long slim legs. Sprig is not considered very muscular, however, his legs are a bit sturdier than what their lanky appearance gives them credit for.Residence: Renting a small cozy house in Trottingham.Occupation: A teacher who works to expand and enrich the minds of young fillies and colts.Cutie Mark: A leafy sprig with one small blossom attached to it with droplets of water dripping from a leaf to the blossom. As a young colt, Sprig often accompanied his mother to the orphange where she frequently volunteered at. Sprig being the social pony he was, ended up becoming really close friends with many of the fillies and colts that lived there. Being older than most, he would often read to them and help them in any way that he could. It wasn't until the arrival of a small and frightened colt did Sprig earn his cutie mark. The new colt kept to himself as best as he could. The Head-Mare nor any of the volunteers were able to get anything out of the silent foal. He shied away from others and was absolutly terrified of the adults that tried to get close to him. The young Sprig took it upon himself to help the shy colt. Due to his non-intimadating appearance and nuturing attitude he was the only one that the colt would let near him. After weeks of hard work and much patience, the young blind pony was able to fully gain the trust of the little colt. After that the two became inseparable. Each time Sprig came with his mother the little colt would eagerly meet Sprig. As time went on the colt became more open with others and less afraid of the adult pony's. With his fear gone he blossomed into a happier pony. And soon he was adotped to a loving family whom lived elsewhere. As Sprig and the colt said their goodbyes Sprig's cutie mark appeard on his flank. His mother explained to him that it was that of a leafy sprig nurturing a bloom. Even though he was sad to see his friend move, he felt happy that he was able to help him bloom.Unique Traits: To make up for the lack of sight, Sprig has acquired an acute sense of smell and hearing over the years. He is able to recognize and identify ponies that he has met when relating them to a familiar scent. However, his heightened senses comes with a cost...potent fragrances and shrill noises tend to leave him dazed and confused. History: On one lazy afternoon, Sprig was born to a loving Earth Pony mother and Unicorn father. For unknown reasons the young colt was born into the world blind. This brought on all new challenges for the couple and their foal. However with patience and care from his parents coupled with his determination, and with many bumps along the way, it wasn't too long before the young Sprig could navigate his surroundings with little to no help from others. Sprig became very evolved in his academics and made fairly good grades in school. He went as far as even tutoring some of his classmates. His laid back yet social behavior made it quite easy for the colt to make friends. However, when it came to any physical activities with others, he often found himself being left to the sidelines. Not one to feel down and out for long, he would settle down with a book to read and become lost in it's pages. His relationship with his parents was very close. His mother would often take him with her when she volunteered at the orphanage. He enjoyed this for he was able to help and play with the foals that lived there. His father, being a writer, shared a love for books with his son. He made sure that Sprig always had something to read. After the day he earned his Cutie Mark Sprig knew he wanted to become a teacher. As he grew older, he worked hard to attain his teaching degree. He faced many obstacles which consisted of others often telling him that he should probably consider another job due to his inability to see. This only fueled his passion by wanting to prove them wrong. After years of hard work, he finally earned his degree. He began teaching in his home town. He now lives in a small rented house in Trottingham.Personality: Polite, caring, and an all around gentle-colt to the core. His laid back and non-intimidating nature makes it easier for others, especially foals, to open up and talk freely to him. He has a huge soft spot for his students and loves them as if they were his own. Sprig has known to be a bit of a charmer and the occasional flirt when it comes to mares. He can always be seen with a playful smile in his features and very rarely if ever is it replaced with a frown. He is a socialite who enjoys the company of others. When faced with a problem he would rather solve it with words than actions. Sprig can be be very stubborn at times, namely when he wants to find out answers. He is also nosy to a fault. Although he means well, he can be a bit nosy at times. Character Summary: Sprig often encourages his students to embrace what they may view as their weaknesses and learn to overcome them rather than feel sorry for themselves. If a pony is in need of a shoulder to lean on or simply an ear to listen to their problems, he would gladly be there for them. Though not very brawny, Sprig has plenty of smarts to make up for it. He doesn't allow his inability to see interfere much with his daily life. However, when dealing with unknown surroundings does he truly feel helpless. He is not a fan trains or the loud noises and smells that they bring along with them. Even with his distaste of any form of transportation, Sprig loves to travel to knew places and meet new pony's.
