Recommended Posts

Name: Vitalia D'Angelo, literally, "Vital Angel"

Gender: Female

Age: Mare

Species: Unicorn

Aura Color: Same color as her eyes!

Eye Color: Emerald Green [4D6B53]

Coat Color: Light Green [b5EBBE]

Mane/Tail/Other: She keeps her two-toned, light [8C829E] and dark [433B52] purple mane and tail well-groomed, with her mane being cut in a style similar to Braeburn's, but much longer, and much more wavy. Unless she ties it up in a ponytail, which she usually does while at work! Can't have your mane blocking vision, after all.

Physique: Being a doctor, she pays close attention to her own health. As such, her physique is well-maintained, being of average, to just a tiny bit shorter than most mares, and having a slender build as well. She does wear glasses, however, as she's found her eyesight to be a bit blurry nowadays.

Residence: Her own house on the outskirts of Ponyville, just a short trot away from Ponyville Hospital!

Occupation: A doctor in Ponyville Hospital, and anywhere else needed!

Cutie Mark: A jagged-edged heart, made out of red ECG waves.

Personality:

Hailing from Marelan, Itaily, Vitalia is quite the newbie to life in Ponyville. She's just arrived recently, and knows absolutely nopony, aside from her co-workers at the hospital! That doesn't stop her from trying to be friendly, however, as she will gladly talk to everypony, and anypony. Unless there's a patient in need, of course!

She takes her work as a doctor very seriously, as she believes that her patients are of the highest priority. This cannot always be good, however, as she can sometimes forget to take care of her personal life, because of the amount of attention she pays to her work. Still, she enjoys being a doctor! Helping ponies is one of her favorite things to do now, and probably for as long as she works as a doctor. Being from Itaily, however, she has quite a noticeable accent when she speaks, but she's working on it, honest!

History:

A mare from a far-away land, Vitalia chose, of all the career paths she could have had, to become a doctor. Why, you ask? Well, she came from a military-centered family. In fact, she was expected to become a military officer herself. But honestly, she didn't... feel like it. Being trained to stand motionless for hours on end, on how to use a spear, a bow, on how to don armor, it just wasn't her. She didn't feel like taking lives...

She felt like saving them. And she was good at it!

Proved by the day that her little brother, Silvano D'Angelo, fell prey to a ravenous sickness. The colt was growing weaker by the day, but surprisingly, he didn't show any physical sign of it. He looked as healthy as ever, but inside, he was struggling. The disease hid from the oblivious eyes of their parents...

But it couldn't hide from the caring eyes of a big sister.

Aided by descriptions and information found in medical texts she was secretly studying, Vitalia eventually caught on, and realized that Silvano was indeed very, very sick.

Fate itself seemed to confirm it, for as she stared worriedly at her little brother, a jagged heart, made of heartbeat monitor waves, magically shone and stayed on her flank. Spurred on by her new-found talent, and aided by her developing magic, Vitalia carried her little brother to the nearest hospital, where doctors there quickly worked to save Silvano's life...

And to start Vitalia's own.

And so, she swiftly decided to become a doctor, much to the dismay of her parents. Eventually, however, they relented, and started supporting her studies! After all, they couldn't just ignore the fact that their daughter was making quite the name for herself at university. She rose through the ranks at her classes, where, after the long years of studying, all-nighters, exams and tests, she'd done it against all odds.

Where, at her graduation, with her parents and now not-so-little Silvano looking proudly on as she took the Hayppocratic oath with many other graduates, she finally reached her dreams.

She'd become a doctor.

However, Vitalia had one last challenge left to face. Now that she was, finally, a fully-fledged doctor, where would she work? There were already plenty in Marelan, and there was too much competition among them. She couldn't earn much like this, so, when Silvano told her of his decision to join the Royal Equestrian Army, she wondered...

What was life like, far, far away from home?

And so, bidding farewell to their parents, Vitalia and Silvano left home, eventually splitting up as well, with Silvano heading off to Canterlot to enlist as one of the many Royal Guards...

And with Vitalia finding herself in Ponyville Hospital, applying for a job.

Unsurprisingly, she was taken in! The hospital had, compared to the hospitals in Marelan, few doctors, and they could always use more. And so, Vitalia eventually moved to Ponyville entirely, buying with her savings a house, near the edge of town, but still close enough to reach the hospital quickly. After all...

Once a doctor, always a doctor.

Hm, very nice!  Green is an underused color in character design, and it's nice to see character origins from far afield (Although It's called Itaily on the boards, not Bitaly).  In any case, I'm confident enough to give this an approval, and send it up for final stamping!
