Cutie Mark: A purple wing, next to a black magic wand, and three small yellow stars surrounding it.

History: Born in Manehattan, Azure Feather would quickly find her calling in magic spells, as would many unicorns, especially those in Manehattan - where if a unicorn would not learn how to use magic spells early - one would get the reputation of black sheep rather quickly.

However, Azure's true interest would come to light as she would come across an article of the Manehattan Times as a filly - of a Wonderbolt show in Cloudsdale. She saw the potential of flight - and from that day forward, the unicorn would keep her interest in magic spells well and truly alive - but she would gaze in wonder - if even for a second - at Pegasi flying nearby. Azure couldn't get to Cloudsdale herself, she knew - so she would settle for the next best thing.

That is, until the day Azure would begin developing her own magic spells, being accomplished to do so. And her first spell? The young magic spell-caster would not be denied her true calling any longer. She would join those Pegasi in the skies, in whatever means she could. This, however, had a side-effect she did not see coming - mainly, a rift in her family. Her mother encouraged Azure to pursue her dreams, knowing it would be two goals in one - she would become a better and better magician, and she would be happy doing so. Her father, meanwhile, would react in a more negative fashion, believing that unicorns should remain unicorns, and respect the other races' gifts.

Azure would not be denied, however, and after months of hard work, her tireless study was finally rewarded when she created the "Skyborn" spell - and managed to give herself Pegasus wings - a feat that she absolutely rejoiced in - and as if things could not get any better for her - it was then and there that she received her own Cutie Mark - as if flying was what she was meant to do. However, giving herself wings was one thing. Knowing how to fly with them? Entirely another. And the rift in the family continued to expand - while her mother would persist in encouraging her to follow her dreams, even enlisting her in flight courses - her father remained steadfast in his belief that Azure's mother gave birth to a unicorn, not a Pegasus - and that Azure should behave as a unicorn.

Finally, once Azure was an accomplished flier, and could fly as well as a Pegasus, her desire to fly became nearly an obsession - and there wasn't a waking moment where Azure did not have her Skyborn spell active. That was the final straw for her father - who could tolerate her "folly" no further - and would leave her mother, and herself behind in a huff.

It was then that life in Manehattan lost all of its light to Azure, as she began to look ahead as she lost the joy of attending her flight classes, preferring the idea of teaching herself rather than show her face. Confusion of her being an alicorn became far too rampant for her taste, and there wasn't a time where she could be by herself without being constantly assaulted with questions. Finally, the idea of teaching magic spells was suggested to her by her mother - but Azure was adamant. Despite her love for her - Azure couldn't stay in Manehattan. The questions had become too much. Life in Manehattan was too hectic. And then, there was her father. With the promise of writing to her mother - Azure opted for what she believed was the quietest place in Equestria that she could teach magic spells effectively - Ponyville.

Character Personality: Azure is rather nervous at first glance, but tends to lighten up and be rather outgoing once first contact is established. As one of Ponyville's newest magic spell teacher, she also does her best to remain calm and polite. Although she may seem to lack a little confidence, especially in front of the classroom, Azure is one that will give 100% in everything she tries to do. Azure also tends to keep her Skyborn spell active nearly constantly for a simple reason - this unicorn loves to fly - and she'll often go for a flight if studies or class don't get in the way. Azure also loves to settle down with sugary treats from time to time - most notably hot chocolate.

However, her appearance, and her wings, have made many a pony mistake her for an alicorn - something Azure doesn't appreciate, she is a unicorn, and makes sure to point it out every time - yet some ponies have also confused her with Princess Twilight Sparkle - a comparison that has been all too common recently, and such comparisons are what Azure Feather dislikes.

Character Summary: A unicorn born in Manehattan, Azure is almost obsessed with the idea of flying under her own power, and her first spell, Skyborn, allows her to give herself Pegasus wings for up to a day, which tends to lead to ponies mistaking her for an alicorn. Azure now lives in Ponyville as a magic teacher, forcing herself to leave the family household after her pursuit of flight ripped her family's unity apart.
