Species: Unicorn with some distinct Areion in his bloodline.

Eye colour: Bright sparkling pink, his eyes have a lot of light and cheer radiating from them. Usually wears dark glasses that hide them.

Coat: A pale desaturated grey-pink, very nearly grey, but in the light you can certainly tell that it isn't.

Mane/Tail: A darker, slightly more saturated grey-pink, his mane is coiffed into a very well kept curl, ending in noticeable sideburns of a darker shade, his tail is also very bouncy and kept. He has fairly bushy, expressive eyebrows.

Physique: Fairly average for a stallion, though he is a bit more on the slight of frame side. He has large tufted ears, a trait passed from his mother's side of his family, many of whom are Areion. He has somewhat prominent front teeth, giving him a rather charming smile.

Residence: He tends to travel all across Equestria due to his occupation, but he had a permanent home in Trottingham that he returns to occasionally for down time.

Occupation: He is a Medium, specializing in Spirit Channeling. His magic cannot raise or control the dead, but he can communicate and project a pony's spirit for a short time, he works closely with families who seek closure, or just a chance to say goodbye, but he has also aided in police investigations.

Cutie Mark: A shimmering heart-shape, Symph spent much of his childhood searching for his purpose in life, for a while he had no idea what he was meant for, but even at a younger age his magical prowess was promising. When he was in his pre-teens, he was send to Celestia's school for hone and perfect his abilities. His magic wasn't wildly overpowered, but his gifts were obvious, and he was accepted in the program. 

He discovered his cutie mark by chance, exploring Canterlot late at night for some potential thrills, he was always curious about the macabre, especially the afterlife, and read many books about Necromancers who used their abilities to do evil deeds. He saw a lighter side to such abilities though, a chance to use a magic that was derived but not resemblant to the dark art. He walked the cemetery often, probing with his magic for a chance to feel, or hear, something calling out to him.

It was an especially clear and serene night when he actually got a response. A sifting, and a soft pink glow that was calling out to him, he was unafraid of the spirit, and though he could only hold the connection for a short time, it was enough to shift his hooves into their current direction, and his cutie mark reflects his desires in life. He wants nothing more than to give ponies tat last goodbye that some never manage to get, to bring closure to ponies who would otherwise have none.

Unique Traits: His magic is a very refined form of Spirit Channeling. His spell essentially forms a connection with whatever spirit he is attempting to reach out to, allowing the spirit to draw from his own magic just long enough to speak to loved ones, to say final goodbyes. The spell is incredibly taxing on him, and even a couple of minutes leaves him fairly drained. His spell can't raise the dead or control them, and the kind young stallion only wants to use it to help other ponies. It should also be said that the spell isn't always 100% successful, some spirits cannot be reached for any number of reasons, his magic isn't a guarantee, but it is fairly accurate.

History: Symph was born and raised in Trottingham, and that is where he still resides to this day. He has always been a very well liked pony, his amiable attitude and generally upbeat personality made him very likable all throughout his school days. His mother and father both work as Elementary school teachers, so good grades and good behavior were expected of him growing up, but they never pressured him to be perfect. He's always had a good relationship with his family, and much of who he is today can be accredited to the way they raised him.

When he was nearing his teenage years, he began to grow very interested in the afterlife, particularly in the realm of Spirit Channeling. He never had any wicked intent with his studies, and only pursued the knowledge with the intent of helping others. His time at Celestia's school was quite successful, and he graduated as one of the top of his class. When he got out into the world is when he poured himself into researching and eventually perfected the spell he'd begun to develop in school. The ability to form a connection with passed on spirits, to allow him to give families closure, and a chance to say goodbye.

Now he travels anywhere he is needed, offering his services in exchange for a bed and a meal(though he never turns down generously given bits), he returns home occasionally to recuperate from the taxing toll the spell takes on him, but he is much happier when he is on the road.

Character Personality: Symph is probably the nicest ghost whisperer you could ever meet, he is the kind of pony who is never seen without a smile on his face, always choosing to see the silver lining instead of the storm clouds. He has a somewhat bombastic and confident personality, though not unpleasant or arrogant in any way. He only desires to help as many ponies as he can with the time he has, and he does it well.

He is an incredibly empathetic and selfless pony, always putting the needs of others before himself. He has a habit of overexerting himself sometimes when it comes to using his specialized spell, but he is the last pony to ever let on when he has had enough, sometimes working until he collapses from exhaustion. He cares too much for his own good, and this is his curse just as much as it is his blessing.

His overall explosive enthusiasm makes him a very entertaining pony to be around, and his boisterous and outgoing attitude is always agreeable. He has his faults, no one is perfect, but he is a very valuable ally to have at your side, so long as you can remind him to take care of himself once in a while.

Character Summary: Symphony is a pony who will do whatever he can for you, no matter the personal cost. He is an incredibly friendly young stallion who uses his unique abilities to give ponies something that many feel they can never attain, closure and a last goodbye. He is selfless and kind, with a smile that could light up any room. His Areion blood gives him a slight aversion to the daylight, making his eyes a bit sensitive to the light.

One small thing before we stamp: perhaps you can use a term other than "necromancy"? That word conjures up images of dark, occult rituals; something I don't think you want for your OC. Maybe a term like "spirit channeling" or "mediumship" would be better instead?

Ah see I wasn't sure of the terminology! His magic finds its roots in necromancy, it's just kind of a very vanilla non-physical form. I think spirit channeling would be an awesome term for it though!

OKAY I went through and tweaked the terminology to sound more friendly and I THINK I got all the mentions of necromancy! ^^ I really liked your spirit channeling term, so I used it instead, it describes what he does better anyway!
