Thicket

This will be the topic to discuss ideas for Thicket, the Deer village/kingdom mentioned in the IDW comics. Ill be starting work on it soon, but any thoughts from y'all at large?

1- Thicket is a city in the southern Everfree, near the coast of the great Nimbusgait Lakes due south of Vanhoover.
2- Thicket is the home of one of the more isolated and secretive Deer tribes. They are not nomadic like many of their cousins, and instead live in one of the few permanent deer settlements.
3- Thicket was founded when a stray tribe got lost in a terrible storm in ages before Ponyville's founding, wandering from the safety of the Whitetail Woods into the dangerous Everfree. There they were pursued and nearly scattered before one young doe organized them and kept them together. She eventually found a safe place deep in the north, where the Everfree was somewhat less dangerous. They built a city there.
4- Over time they adapted. Thicket's deer are more aggressive and protective than their cousins in the Whitetail, but only ever in defense of themselves. They have adapted to the Everfree and can utilize potions, fauna, and flora to manipulate the local area, allowing them to grow crops and protect themselves.
5- The leader of the city is known as the Heart of the Forest, the title taken by the Doe who organized them and by every subsequent leader. Leaders may be stags or does and are chosen by bloodline first, with any claims to the throne being settled by a journey to a hidden grove deep in the Everfree near the northern tip of the Allacor Mountains, where the Tomb of the First Heart is.
6- The deer of the city are isolationist and tend to vew interlopers unkindly, though they are not necessarily aggressive. They are likely to play as if friendly hosts before sliping the visitors potions and laving them without memory of where they'd been, left on the edge of the Everfree. They prefer to remain hidden, hoping that the magic of Equestria won't interrupt the delicate balance they have needed to stay safe deep in the dangerous Everfree.
