Origin: Cloudsdale Roleplay Type: Mane Roleplay Occupation: Jazz singer Motivation: To swell the hearts of her listeners with emotion as she sings Character Summary: Born the third and youngest child to a rich pegasi couple, Crystal, though not unloved, was mostly ignored and left to her own devices; the majority of their attention went to her older brother, the family heir. Starving for more love and attention, and eager to find out her lot in life, she began to dabble in things not entirely fitting for the daughter of a well-to-do family. She tried painting, but only succeeded in making a mess. She tried running, but found she tired out too easily. She tried comedy, but her jokes just fell flat. Crystal was beginning to think she'd never figure out what she'd do with her life, that is until one day when she accompanied her mother to a recital of classical music. Listening to the swelling sound of the strings, she found herself caught up in the music, and before she knew it, she was singing wordlessly along with the music. Her mother was immediately amazed, saying that she had 'a lovely, delicate voice', and, with a cry of astonishment, pointed to her daughter's flank: her cutie mark had appeared, a delicate blue crystal sitting behind a sharp note marker, a beamed eighth note couplet and a quarter note. Strengthened by both her cutie mark and her mother's commendation, she began to seek out other types of music to listen to, and discovered that she really loved the sound of jazz. Though she loved to sing in just about any style, she found herself drawn to singing jazz. Hearing her new found repertoire, her mother, more supportive than her father, helped her along, allowing her to meet one of her idols, Equestria James, and also helping her to audition in various locations throughout Cloudsdale.Ever since then, she has slowly been growing in popularity, her name straying from Cloudsdale to all corners of Equestria.
