lordbrony
After RPing a bit I noticed that it seems to be the culture here that once you join an RP, people expect your commitment till it endsLets say for the sake of arguement that Twilight Sparkle decides to go to say..Canterlot for an afternoon's shopping. Now in theory, the only one(s) who will be with Twilight from the start to end are anypony who is travelling with her, in this case Spike.Lets say Twilight stops at an ice cream stand for ice cream (most likely the Ice cream pony's RPer joins in at this moment). Now from a story POV the Ice cream pony should cease to be part of the story once Twilight leaves, but usually this is not so since it is likely that he is now added to the posting order and must stay for the duration of the RP.I'm not arguing whether one should be allowed to pop into an RP, make a couple of posts and leave, but sometimes it does make sense yes?Just musing
RarityDash
You can exit from an RP by just saying you do. I've seen it happen a number of times before. I've even done it before.
Corsair
If you feel your character's part is done in the RP, just write their departure and leave an OOC note (in the post or in IM) that you are done.
