Hullo, m'friends!

Mellowdusk

Recommended Posts

Hi... I am Mellowdusk! I am a fairly shy pony, face to face; however, here where my sentiments may be expressed in text, I can break from that shyness from time to time. In fact my personality here is likely to change suddenly and often, because I've got a lot of feelings and thoughts in me.

Mmm, about me.

I'm studious, and curious, and not fond of social boxes, in real life or in roleplay. I'm in college, and hoping to major in landscape architecture. I like to read and do homework. I also draw, and occasionally I write. I really want to learn Swedish and move to Sweden! I'm working on it.

The well-being of my fellows is important to me, as is understanding the struggles of others.

I'm intelligent, and have a romantic heart. Ah, and I am full of wanderlust. There are so many beautiful things in this wide world of ours.

Okay, now for something that may not seem all that relevant, but is extremely important to me. ...I like to share my knowledge and experience, but I don't like to argue. Most importantly, for me this applies to conversations concerning gender minorities, as I am a transgender stallion and am really sick of individuals in other communities trying to tell me who I *really* am, and being generally very uninformed about and disrespectful towards gender minorities. I try particularly hard to inform others about these issues when they arise, as they are personally relevant and I have a lot of knowledge about them. I hope the ponies here are open and thoughtful; I really want to find a community in which I am comfortable. Individuals online have from time to time caused me a lot of grief because of the cruel disrespect and belligerence that their lack of information creates in them, and I don't want that to happen again, here. :-(

In any case, nice to meet you, my dears~

Hey!

I'm MyLittlePonyTales, but I just go by Tales around here. I'm one of the many great staff here at Canterlot.com. Please feel free to message any of us with any questions or concerns you have, or you can just leave another comment here!

If you didn't already, please take a moment to check out the Rules section, just so that you're up to speed! :RDash: You'll also need to make at least 3 comments anywhere in the Introductions section before you can post on other parts of the site.

There's hopefully something for everypony around here! If you're looking to meet new Bronies, a good place to do that is the Chat Room & live roleplay. The Creativity section is the place for artists, musicians, and writers! Oh, and what kind of forum would this be without the MLP Discussion area, hmm?

If you're looking to Roleplay, check the RolePlaying Rules and the Application Form. Unless you're going for the FiM Free-For-All section, then you don't need either of those things! :D The Equestria Mane RP, which is a really cool Roleplay area, requires you to read both the RolePlaying Rules and the Application Form.

Wow, that's a lot of links! :o Feel free to explore the site yourself at your own pace, and let myself or one of the other staff know if you have any questions. Oh, and how did you hear about our site?

Welcome to Canterlot!

The Canterlot.com community is great about this. I'm a trans woman myself and quite "out" in this corner of the net, and I've never run into any serious problems here with that (including before I was moderator). There is also at least one other out trans person here, and a couple more questioning. In fact, although I haven't seen it come up, I know that I or another of the modstaff here would intervene directly if your gender was put to question (The board admins in particular are very hip to the trans). I honestly don't understand how a community (bronies) who have gender variance as a central element of their identity (boys liking pastel ponies) could be unaccepting. Thankfully, I don't have to confront that question here very often. I think you'll be just fine here, champ :)

So then, Welcome to Canterlot!

Ah! Cool! Nice to meet you! :3 Good to know I have fellow transgender individuals here.

About transgender thing. I don't care about that. While I'm not one of them I understand that some people born with "wrong" mind that they gender implies. I'm one of open-minded people.

Oh, I didn't saw that you were hugable *hugs*.

~huggles!~

Not the wrong mind, m'dear. Nothing wrong with my mind! ^^ ...Gender is in the mind, and I am my mind (alternatively you could substitute the word 'soul' for mind, here). It is the body that, unfortunately, does not match up with what my mind/soul knows. Err, I hope that was understandable! Probably not so much... XD

That's what I had on mind when I were *saying* "wrong". By wrong I meant "body that does not match up with what my mind/soul knows"! Not "sicko" etc.
