[Canterlot] An Artist's Perfection [Closed for now]

Moondusk Brush was resting in the train carriage as it puffed and chugged along the tracks from Ponyville to Canterlot, Princess Celestia handiwork was already at play as the sun started to rise over the mountain and shine down on Equestria in beautiful morning light. The train slow down to a halt as the Pony conductor yelled throughout the carriage, announcing that they have arrived at Canterlot Station.

The Unicorn would stir from his slumber with a grumpy groan as he slipped off his seat and trotted slowly onto the station, taking a good look around with sleepy eyes.”Well... I'm finally here... Canterlot... Home of the royal sisters and city of the rich and gifted.”he would mumble to himself before he would walk down the station to the train station the to the loading dock to pick up his cart, moving into the morning streets of Canterlot.

He had came to Canterlot for one thing, Inspiration. Inspiration for a painting that would be entered in an upcoming art contest and hopefully win but he knew that any little painting wouldn't do, that he need something that special, magical, something that would make ponies awe at the sight of it.

Moondusk was trotting along slowly, as he took in the sights all around him, simple amazed by every little detail the building have in them under the beauty of a summer day. He had always wanted to visit Canterlot ever since he was a little colt, dreaming of being in a royal art show with his painting on full display for all ponies to see. Moondusk mind seem to wander away from reality before he snapped back, realising he was lost now in a busy street.

“Okay.. now I'm lost...”The blue unicorn mumbled to himself as he looked around, trying to remember which way he came from.

Valoren Seeker yawed softly as he stared idealy out the window of the coffee shop. He had a rough night because he had stayed up trying to decipher a map that would lead him to some lost treasure that was hidden somewhere on the outskirts of Canterlot. It had really kept him going, since he found himslef unable to put down the map it was so intersting. Only for him to find out that it was a cruel joke!! A fake that somepony who had too much time on his hooves, made. Grumbling in anger that he had been tricked in such a cruel fashion; Val called over for a waitress. Getting her attention, he ordered some java as he inhaled nad exhaled to help stimulate some breathing. Just gonna go out, and see if I can find another adventure" he told himslef, trying to remain optomistic. Hopefully, the next adventure would turn out to be a dud. REceiving his cofee; he drunk it down in one gulp. Eyes widedning at how hot it tasted, he quickled downed some water to get rid of hte heated effects as he managed to calm down. "Oh yeah, defintalty tired to do something stupid like that" he lectured himself as he got up. Placing some bits on the table, he exited the shop as he wasnt looking where he was going; causing him to bump into a unicorn. "Oh, Im sorry.." Val apologized to him.

[Snowshoe]

Ollie McTwist was moving quickly, the wheels on his skateboard clicking across the cobblestones of the street. He weaved the board expertly past the ponies, his innate Earth Pony abilities giving him quite an amazing sense of balance. Even when Ollie swerved hard to the side to avoid a stallion pulling a cart, he managed to get back properly with only the very tip of his tail brushing the ground. Seeing an opportunity for a trick, he kicked a hoof off the stone with a resounding clack, propelling the young colt and the skateboard high into the air. It came down onto a railing, and Ollie maintained balance as he grinded the railing, a grin on his face. He came back down off the railing, amidst a chorus of cheers and angry voices...some people loved him, some hated him.

He didn't care.

Ollie McTwist took a quick, hard right around a corner, looking back for a moment and a moment too soon. He collided with a green pegasus, causing him to sprawl across the ground. "Aw, man...." he mumbled, shaking his head as he stood up. "Sorry, mister!" he called out, looking around for his skateboard, wondering where it had rolled off to in the collision.

[Frosty]

Moondusk sighed to himself as he trotted along the streets of Canterlot, he had tried to ask for directions but his voice was consumed by the loud sounds of ponies doing their everyday routine, which prompt him to give up and start walking in hope for some luck, he would trot along slowly before he got bumped into, he began to tilt side-ways but the saddle that attach him to his cart, maintain his balance and prevent him falling over on his side.

"O-oh..no..it's my fault, I wasn't watching were I was going and..."he hung his head low and spoke in a soft voice to the green pegasus before the sound of a skateboard running downhill could be heard on approach. The blue unicorn would watch the collision, blinking in disbelief, quickly uncoupling his cart, walking over slowly to the Pegasus and Earth pony to make sure both were okay and not hurt, but he didn't watch his step, as the skateboard rolled under, sending him flying onto his back.

Moondusk would groan in pain as he rolled over onto his side, ignoring his own pain as he turned to the others."A-are you both ok?"he would speak softly as his horn glowed a pale blue, lifting the skateboard up to prevent it from doing any more damage.

Valoren smiled weakly, as he responded "Ahh, its cool. I wasnt the one who was really paying attention. Anyway, Im Val. Its good to meetaaaaahh" Val gasped in shock as something collided with him. Being sent into a roll, he collapsed against a stand as his eyes rolled around in a cartoonish manner. "Ahhh, make the world stop spinning" he laughed out in a silly manner. Shaking his head, he manged to focus his eyes once more as he stared up at what teenage pony. Getting up, he heard his apology as he chuckled "Ahh, its alright...caught me by surprise thier". Seeing hte floating board, Val smiled to younger pony "That was some pretty good moves" he complimented. Staring at the two, he said "I wanst really focusing myself, so its no big deal". Offering his hooves to the two; he introduced "Valoren Seeker, adventurer and thrill seeker. Good to meet ya both" grinned the cheerful adventurere.

Ollie McTwist strained up, shaking out his vividly coloured mane and looking up. He winced, seeing that the board had hit the other pony. "Sorry guys, really." he apologized, a little sheepishly. He was expecting a verbal smackdown, but both ponies seemed fair and in the case of the unicorn, very soft spoken.

"It was an accident, I turned way too sharp and didn't see anything. If I did see you two I wouldn't have hit you, promised." he assured them. He reached out with his teeth for the board, then realized fighting a unicorn's magic might not be fun, and reached back.

He looked at Valoren and grinned, shaking the pony's hoof vigorously with his own. "Ollie McTwist. You can call me Ollie, or Twist. Best skater in Canterlot, hooves down." he said with a grin.

"So of course I got good moves, you shoulda seen me grinding a rail earlier. It was all like,-" Ollie attempts to imitate, rather poorly, the sound of a board sliding on a railing. "And of course, stuck the landing afterwards."

[Frosty]

Moondusk would lower the skateboard infront of the young earth pony, making sure it dosen't roll off anywhere before he would raise a hoof to shake the green pegasus hoof. "My name is Moondusk Brush, but please call me Moondusk.. a pleasure to meet you both."He would bow his head slightly, introducing himself before he would watch Ollie attempt to recreate his stunt with sound and movement, as he couldn't helped but give a light chuckle, being reminded of something.

The blue unicorn soon turn his attention back to his cart, trotting back over to make sure everything still in order but the fall had seem to have left him alittle sore in the back but mostly unhurt before coming back. "Oh.. umm excuse me, if both of you wouldn't mind, can you tell me where there a good inn is around here?"he asked with soft voice as he looked at both Pegasus and Earth pony, hoping they would help him.

Pumpkin Blush trotted along the rooftops above the busy Canterlot streets, her brown and orange mane swaying in the breeze and her face beaming a joyful smile.

"I guess my talents DO come in handy!" the pink Unicorn laughed, picking up the pace of her trot; breaking into a gallop, rapidly drawing closer to the roof edge. Pumpkin leaped across, soaring over a small alleyway between the rooftops, easily landing safely on the other side. "I mean, how can anypony draw inspiration in that big of a crowd?" She continued her course, slowly absorbing the scenery before witnessing a commotion withing the thick wave of ponies below.

bump. thud. CRASH! It all happened rather quickly, three ponies forced into a painful looking chain reaction. "I hope nopony is hurt." Pumpkin said looking for a way down. She spotted a parasol overlooking a shop entrance below her; aiming her trajectory and diving off the rooftops, the Unicorn filly plummeted to the streets below.

"Look out below!" Pumpkin called, sliding into the parasol and launching out into the busy street. Uning the momentum to rotated her body around, so her feet were facing the ground instead of the sky. Her hooves hit the cobblestones with a light 'clop', her legs bent to absorb the landing. Pumpkin immediately regained her composure and made her way to the pile of fallen ponies with haste.

"Ahh, well their is the Prestige Clop, which is down over their" Val pointed out to Moondusk; as he pointed down the street towards a large three story building with a giant star on the top of it. Smiling, he remarked "Here on some sort of art seeking trip" Val asked curiously to the artist. Turning back to Ollie, he smiled "Best Skater in canterlot huh? Bet you gotta live up to that reputation eh"? "Ooof" Valoren gasped in shock as something struck him from above, hard and fast as he felt the other ponies fall ontop of him. "Three times in oone day, what are the oods" he chuckled lighlty in amusement. As the ponies got up off of him, he shook his head as he turned to face the new pony. Offering her a smile, he said "Ahh, greeings. That's one way of making an introduction". Nodding towards the pony, he asked "Whats up"?

[Snowshoe]

Ollie took his board back with a grin. "Thanks, Mister!" he said happily. He kept the board on the side to make sure it didn't roll off, his front left hoof sitting on top of it to keep it down. He didn't want it rolling off and hitting someone else.

"No, sorry. I don't live in Canterlot but I come here all the time. And I don't really have a use for inns, I never really used one before." he explained. He looked over at the Pegasus and grinned when he mentioned him being a good skater. "Oh yeah! I do all the time! Nobody's beaten me yet." he said, rather immodestly. Yeah, he was a little boastful but at least he was able to back up his boasts with skill.

Before he could say anything else, he was in a pile of sprawled out limbs as he was crashed into. Ollie managed to extract himself and stood up, shaking his head and looking at the filly who was there. "Gee, thanks." he teased. "Wait, were you just on the rooftops?" he asked, looking up. He had always imagined being able to get up there and do a few tricks on the rooftops, but it was probably dangerous.

Moondusk would look over to where Valoren hoof was pointing as he looked up at the three story inn with the fancy star, as the blue unicorn just gave a nervious chuckle. He couldn't afford to stay there if he had sold ten painting in a day as he continued to stare, blinking as the question snapped him back in reality. " Sort of, I'm trying to find inspration for a upcoming piece which I plan to enter in a art show and what better place then Canterlot?"He would give a soft smile but his smile turn into a shocked expression as the Unicorn filly dropped down onto both of Ollie and Val.

"H-hey are you ponies ok?" Moondusk would ask as he trotted over and looked at them then to Pumpkin brush. "W-what were you doing on the roof of the building?"he asked, having the same curiousity as Ollie as to why someone would be running along roof tops.

Pumpkin slowly stood herself up, looking between the three ponies whom she was trying to help; although she had just added to the situation. "I'm so sorry," the unicorn said hoping no one was hurt "I misjudged my landing a tad there." Her attention was drawn to the green Pegasus as he spoke

'Ahh, greeings. That's one way of making an introduction.'

Pumpkin couldn't help but smile, no pony really complemented her talents all to often. "Yeah, i kind of messed up there." she said rubbing the back of her head whit her left hoof. "Nothing much i was on my way to the hotel down the road." It was then the second pony spoke, the small skating colt teased with a sarcastic remark.

"Gee, thanks."

The uniorn laughed lightly at the comment, before the colt spoke again.

"Wait, were you just on the rooftops?"

She watched as the colt looked up to the rooftops above; the look he was giving was giving, Pumpkin knew it anywhere. It was the same look when she thought of some crazy trick o big jump, but before she cold say anything the third pony spoke.

"W-what were you doing on the roof of the building?"

The blue unicorn asked, rather calmly. Pumpkin turned to face him, a friendly smile on her face "Well i was drawing a picture of the Prestige Clop over there, it is trade for a room for the night. The rooms there are meant to have beautiful views of Canterlot." The unicorn looked around for her saddle bag, but it wasn't on the floor. Looking up to the rooftops she saw it hanging from a low windowsill. Using her magic she pulled it down to the ground and opened it up; producing a well made, dynamic charcoal sketch of the hotel.

Pumpkin showed it to the blue unicorn "The rooftops have great angles to draw from and it beats the street traffic." she continued hoping she could be of some help to the others "So what brings you all to Canterlot?"

Valoren got up, as he girnned "I came in search for adventures. I had found a map the other day and spent all of last night deciperhing it in order to find some lost tresure of some sort. It turns out it was nothing more then a fake, that somepony had made to send me on a wild goose chase". Lowering his head in disappointment, he sighed "That really got to me since i love advenrures, and it was irrataing to have wastered all that time on trying to decipher it". Raising his head, he offered a shrug before smiling "But hey, thats life ya know? I just need to see if I can locate another adventure around here". Putting a hoof to his chin, he mused "Problem is, IM having difficulty locating one and I really dont wanna get bored or nothing; since thats thats the number one thing I hate. That, and having a boring adventure those are especially the worse. I love all the action and danger one has to undergo before reaching the end". Blinking as he realized that he was really getting into talking about what he loved, he blushed slightly before responding "SOoo yeah".

Ollie McTwist nodded. "That's so cool! You need to show me some ways up. Those would be some really epic tricks." he said, grinning like an idiot. He couldn't wait to try something up there, as dangerous as it would be.

He looked over at Valoren when he spoke of adventures. "Aw, that sounds like that would suck. Searching for treasure sounds really awesome though." he said with a grin. He looked back at Pumpkin Blush when she produced her notebook. She was a talented artist. He could never do anything like that. "Wow. You're pretty good at that." he admitted, grinning again.

"I live in Solstice Heights but it's so boring there. So I come out here to Canterlot all the time."

[Frosty]

Moondusk would look at the Pumpkin Brush then her sketch, getting a closer look at it. "N-nice detail... sketch work seems to be lined well... with some nice shading..."The blue unicorn mumbled to himself before he pulled away, in thought before he gave a bit of an embarrassed looked."Oh.. Sorry, I was rambling on a bit, have you tried using different sizes of charcoal?"Moondusk canted his head as The unicorn seem to know his way around artwork.

"I'm here in Canterlot to find some inspiration for an Art piece, I'm going to enter in a upcoming contest..."he say with a warm hearted smile before he turned around and walked back to his cart. Moondusk would open the cart's side doors, inside was a wonderland of art products, with a few dozen draws, easel's, blank canvas and other artist's tools. He would sigh softly as it seemed like he was looking for something, getting a bit frustrated with his search.

Pumpkin couldn't help but smile at the young foal's enthusiastic attitude, the unicorn grinned as she spoke "maybe i'll take you up there sometime, but these rooftops are a little bit difficult to access for someone your age. But I'm sure we'll find something." Her attention turn to the green Pegasus as he spoke of adventure and wild goose chases, it all sounded very exiting. When Moondusk gave his constructive criticism about the charcoal, Pumpkin began putting her saddle bag back on. "I did think of that, but i only had the one stick. I'm short of bits so i have to make do with what i have."

Pumpkins eyes lit up as Moondusk revealed the contense of his cart, just then an idea began to flourish in the young unicorns mind. "Mr... Moondusk was it? I have a proposition for you, if you were to give me some charcoal sticks maybe i can help you scout out drawing locations from above. It's much faster that looking around the streets i assure you. " Pumpkin's brain was moving faster than her mouth at this point, as she continued, "Also if you are looking fora place to stay i maybe able to get us both a place in the Prestige Clop." The unicorn beamed as she placed her drawing back in he bag.

Valoren smiled lightly in response to Ollies comment, as he said "Yup..it would be nice..problem is not alot of ponies are hiring lately, so I cant exactly escort or seek out anything if thiere is nothing really to seek out. So as you can imagine, its abit of a mood killer for me". Putting a hoof to his chin, he scunched up his face as if he was really contemplating something hard. "But..thier might be something..hmmm..." as he was thinking back to the map he had found out was a fake. Perhaps he hadnt serached hard enough, or it was really something that had tried to throw him off track. That would be likely since the last couple of ponies he had worked for were some rich snobs who seemed to find amusment in making fools outta others. "Pfft" he snorted in response at the thought of those jerks.

Moondusk would stop in his tracks as he heard Pumpkin offer, he would use his magic to pull out four different size sticks of charcoal, hovering them in front of Pumpkin." Yes, just call me Moondusk please and there on the house, I don't really need Charcoal for the upcoming paintings anyway and I don't really want to trouble you for a room, I sleep outside in a tent if I need too. Oh here it is!"he would pull out a canvas and showed to the group. "If anyone interested, here a sample of my work."he would speak softly with a little proud smile across his face.

The picture was of the countryside on a nice summer day, with a earth pony resting under the shade of a tree. The colors seem to strike out of the painting, from the green grass to the bright blue sky and white clouds. "Umm any thoughts on it?..."he would look to the group for any criticism or words of interested.

The blue unicorn had an idea in his head before he would approach the group."Hey, Would any of you be interested in some artistic work? I mean, I really can't pay much but I guess I could offer something?"he would cant his head to the side, waiting for their replies.

Pumpkin blinked as the charcoal floated in front of her "Really? Thank you so much!" She smiled placing the assorted sticks into her bag. He also listened as Moondusk spoke about sleeping in a tent. She looked back to the unicorn after closing her bag, only to be greeted with a fantastic composition. The lively, vibrant colors leaped from the canvas. It felt fresh without losing detail. "Wow, this is beautiful!" Her eyes danced across the piece, full taking it in.

Pumpkin's eyes lit up and a smile grew on her face, as the fellow artist offered her work. More work means more reputation, and it meant she would be ever closer to her goal. Not to mention how much she could learn. Her attention drifted to the castle for a few seconds "I'd love to!" She said beaming towards Moondusk.

Valoren blinked as he looked back over, and stared at Moondusk work. Eyes widdening, his mouth dropped in shock as he glanced over the brillance of the picture!! The background, natural parts of the enivorment..it all looked abosliutly incredible. Grinning in amamzent he turned back to face MoonDusk as he gave the pony a playful pat on the back. "This is truly awesome!! I havent seen alot of art work to be honest, but this is really, truly one of a kind work!! Clearly, you got mad talent" praised the thrill seeking pegasus. Sighing, he said "Wish I was good at th...".

Being offered work, he blinked in surprise as he smiled. It could be fun, and would be nice to deviate away from what he normally did as he nodded in agreement. "That sounds like alotta fun actually, so sure!! I'd be up for that".

Ollie looked over at the paintings done by the blue unicorn. Impressive was an understatement, the image was absolutely beautiful. He wished he had a talent like that, but then again, he made art in his own special way. Few could get on a piece of wood and four wheels and preform some of the things Ollie McTwist could. Still, it was clear he was a different kind of artist than the other ponies around him. Still, maybe he could enjoy the day, and find some kind of adventure. Be a model for a drawing, or show somepony around.

Ollie looked up at Moondusk and tilted his head a little. "Me too? But I don't know anything about art. I couldn't even draw if I tried." he said, shaking his head. "I mean I'd love to help but what could I possibly do?" he asked.

Moondusk would gave a soft smile from the reactions he got from his painting, feeling the pat on the back by Valoren. "I don't think it's one of a kind, I still have so much to learn about the world of art and their are others way more talented then me out there..."he spoke modestly about his artwork before he nodded to three other ponies with a smile.

"You see, I'm kinda well looking for insparation for this contest peice and this is my first time around Canterlot.. so I need help finding.. interesting places..plus, finding ponies to pose."he would continuely, hoping it didn't bother them in the slightest before he turned to Ollie."Of course you too, you don't have to paint... you can do your tricks and I could paint them, it would be great for a dynamic peice.."he would speak softly, turning back to all of them.

"So if your still in, please tell me."he speak as he would trot back up to his cart, using his magic to place the painting back in and closing up the cart.

Valoren smiled, as he nodded "I could do some inspiring acorbic triclks, or I could show some of the artificats that I have retrieved on my adventures". Putting a hoof to his chin, he smiled as he noted "Hmm, like stuff like this"!! Val then bended over as he soared up high into the sky, as he started to do barrells rolls, and dive bombs in an attmepth to have something inspirational. Flying around some clouds, he cut through, and around to make the clouds change shapes in order to help out even more!! Landing down in front of the group, he got an idea as he reached into his pouch and removed an Aqua Sapphire. "How about this? I got this from a temple undernearth SeaSaddle Bay" Val smiled lightly. He wasnt trying to brag or show off, or heck even to impress. He was just trying to help out his new friend with an idea.
