Character Summary:

History/Cutiemark Silver Heart was born in Stalliongrad. Her foalhood was a lonely one for the most part as the other foals thought she was strange and kept away from her. This meant she was a prime target for bullies, yet no matter how much they badgered her, teased her, or even roughed her up, she would take the abuse and simply keep on going. Never once did she ask them to stop or try to stand up to them. This made her even stranger in her books, so they teased her even more. This continued through her foalhood until one fateful day.

A new foal had joined their class and this meant there was fresh meat for the bullies. They rounded on her first recess break. Silver Heart rounded the corner to see the little foal crying and the bullies laughing. Such a rage built up inside her that she wasn’t really sure what was happening as she ran at the bullies. Silver stood defiantly between of the bullies and the new foal, slamming her hoof down and snorting. She warned them once and told them to leave. The bullies were so dumbstruck by the sudden turn of events that they actually listened, somewhat afraid of Silver now that she had stood up to them. This event earned her her Cutiemark; a shield with a heart on it, overtop a sword. She knew then that she was destined to help others and protect them when they themselves couldn’t.

Knowing this didn’t make anything easier. Her new would-be friend was just as scared of her as she was the bullies and ran off as soon as she was able to. Silver returned to her solitude, at least not bothered by the bullies any longer. Silver progressed into early Fillyhood like this, keeping to herself as best she could. Her teacher noticed this and chose her as the year’s exchange student; she would basically switch places with a filly in Ponyville. She was to attend school in Ponyville for a time, and the filly from Ponyville would come to Stalliongrad to attend school. Silver accepted begrudgingly at her parents’ encouragement.

One long trip later, Silver was in Ponyville living with an exchange family. The first thing she did was get a part time job doing mostly manual labour. She sends most of the bits she earns back home to her parents. She works this job on top of attending school, so she gets back to her exchange home somewhat late in the day. Despite this, she never complains and tends to keep to herself even in Ponyville. Silver has yet to make any friends.

Family: Silver Heart was born to a sickly mother and a father who always worked. She got along well with them and took after her father. She also has a kid sister, Winter Moon, whom she is very protective of.

Personality: Silver Heart isn’t a very “smart” pony. She’s not very booksmart or scholarly, but what she lacks in intelligence she more than makes up for in common sense. She is very perceptive, especially about the wants and needs of other ponies, and as a result is able to discern how to help them. She doesn’t like bullies or people who pick on others, and is quick to jump to the victim’s defense, be it physical or verbal abuse. Silver will always stand up for others, but oddly enough, doesn’t really stand up for herself. She is able to take most of what people throw at her and believes that if they’re busy throwing insults at her, it means they aren’t throwing insults at other ponies. She has a warm and gentle heart that never shows because she’s too busy shouldering the burdens of others to actually socialize with them.

Flaws: Since Silver isn’t very booksmart, complex ideas and formulas confuse her. Math is not something she enjoys at all, and organization and planning is not one of her strong suits. Because of her protective and caring nature, she often takes on more than she can handle. Even so, she can never be heard complaining about it or trying to weasel her way out of the work. Because she hasn’t had very much contact with ponies in terms of social situations, she is very awkward in conversation.

Taking a look at the application, I can't say I have any immediate issues with it - there seems to be a reasonable explanation as to what her cutie mark stands for, and for the most part there doesn't seem to be any especially off-color issues that I feel hold it up all that much at this stage. Stamping!
