Origin: Penumbra's origin story has changed so often, it is hard to take anything he says as credible infomation. But one recuring theme can be picked up in each of his stores, with this infomation, a story can be placed together. But whether or not this is ture, is impossible to tell.

Residence: Forest of Madness. Normally located in his honeymoon suite.

Occupation: Clown Prince of Dementia.

Motivations: Penumbra is a firm believer that flamboyent laughter is the key to happiness. He tries to help ponies see the brighter side of life, too bad his idea of laughter is different to normal ponies.

Likes: Laughing, Smiling, Clowns, Darkness, His pet cat called cat.

Dislikes: Tea.

Summary:

Born from the resut of a splitting mind, Penumbra has kept the fear of darkness alive. Behind the smiling, laughing and bad jokes lies the mind of an unpredictable monster.

His intence and sometimes terrifing aperiance tend to leave a lasting effect on others. Not much is known about his past life as he changes it as he sees fit. But it can be guessed that it was filled with loniness and isolation.

He is often depicted wearing a black hood with matching robe. A gettup that has been with him for years and it has been torn and dirtied. Sticking out of his back are two under developed wings resembling pointed bones, he is uncabilble of flying with them. He also has adopted a 'Clown persona', painting his face white and giving himself a big red smile. He themes his possessions after his Clown persona such as having a collection of chattering teeth and a joy buzzer.

He apperied in the forest of madness one day after wondering looking for a home. He quickly made friends and must to their dissaray, he ruled them for a time giving himself the title of "Clown Prince of Dementia". His goal durning this what to show other a twishted and unique view of life. He became some what of a 'test' to new comers. If they can survive Penumbra, you're welcome to stay.

Penumbra often 'claims' others as his own. This is just his ways of saying he likes you.

Contrary to his aperance, Penumbra can be quite freindly and enjoys just being in the presence of others. He can become very loyal and 'attach' himself to other ponies.

He openly talks about his thoughts and feelings, even in the most strangest of times. He is flamboyant and absent minded at most times, making for spontaneous movements and unintelligible mumbling.

He has been known to talk to himself on a regular basis, to avoid confustion in this situation, he refers to himself in the third person. An act not entierly unusual.

Powers:

Penumbra's powers range fromcompletely useless, such as giving everything smiles. To quite impressive such as being able to posses object and owning his own "Dementia dimension"
