Unicorn Roulette Golucky{Aka Mirage} {Ready}

Species:  Unicorn
 

Eye colour:  Green apple eyes, framed by sunshine gold eye shadow.
 

Coat:  A deep midnight blue that has black gradient near her hooves and muzzle
 

Mane/Tail:  Her mane is long and elegant, with her bangs cut short so they hang in her eyes slightly, the rest falling down past her shoulders in waves, her tail is long with a slight wave to it. Colorwise her mane and tail are jet black, with electric blue throughout the bangs, and end of her tail as a highlight.
 

Physique: Slender, tall, and sultry, anything to draw attention
 

Residence: Originally she was from WhiteTail Woods,  lived in Canterlot for a short while, and now is a traveler, she can always return home to WhiteTail Woods though.
 

Occupation: Originally a Makeup artist, now is a no good Con Artist that claims she can change poinies cutie marks and destiny!
 

Cutie Mark:  Technically Roulette has two cutie marks, She has her real one, which is a kabuki brush with shimmery, rainbow powder on  the end, coming off in sparkly specks! And then her  “Fake “  Cutie mark, which is a clever makeup overlay that  gives her cutie mark a magic wand, and green aura like she is changing it.





 

History:  The last name itself tells you a bit about who Roulette is. The GoLucky’s being a well known group of con artists, stretching all the way back to the Crystal Empire! Roulette’s family was no exception to this group of greedy ner’do wells, with her Daddy being a  “Snake Oil” type sales pony named “Full house” and her mother who was often her Dad’s Shill  named “ Red Diamond”  Both of them raised their daughter the best they could, but didn’t teach her the BEST morals.

Roulette didn’t share her dad’s passion for bottling up her moms tea and claiming it would cure a common cold,  but she adored sitting with her momma by her vanity, watching her apply her makeup every day before a show, marveling how she effortlessly and beautifully applied the color with her magic, and it made something in Roulette yearn to make pretty facial art like that too!

After a few years of watching her Mother do it, she pleaded and pleaded to be allowed to do her own mom’s makeup (She was just a little filly, far too young to be wearing the stuff!)

Her mom protested, but got hit with the big, dewy green eyes, and the cute little lip quibble, so she relented, sitting in her  cushioned chair, bracing herself for a small foal gooping makeup on her face! To her surprise though, Roulette focused with her tongue slightly stuck out on her mother’s makeup with a surprising amount of gentleness, thought and grace, and in the end her Mother gasped at how nice the makeup looked, especially for a young filly, she exclaimed happily that her daughter was a natural!  And the cutie mark on her flank just confirmed it!  Roulette glanced at her flank and beamed seeing that brush appear on her flank!

Ofcourse doing other ponies makeup is different than doing your mothers makeup, and clients are picky and sometimes demanding! Roulette tried for a while being a makeup artist for  weddings, and other special events, but she’d get frustrated if the bride would fuss, nitpick, or too-too her work, and she practically snapped at  one client that told her her work was nice but “Slightly juvenile, and it wouldn’t hurt it an ounce to go to a professional school to learn more”

School? SCHOOL!? She was a NATURAL!  She didn’t need to go to school! She was an artist! She was a talent! She was amazing! She’d show them! Her makeup was good as anypony elses!

….But that was for the moment where it died,  she just sort of sulked, nibbling on berries to calm her hurt pride, when her little sister, Crystal Clubs came over to her and whined that her friend  had gotten her cutie mark FIRST and it wasn’t FAIR, and now she was having a party and  Crystal didn’t want to go as a blank flank!

This got the cogs in her head a turning and Roulette tapped her chin in thought, before smirking “If you can’t earn a cutie mark by then, well we’ll just take destiny into our own hooves”  Using some stencil work, a little flair and lots of really good quality makeup, Roulette made a fake cutie mark “appear” on her sisters flank! Making her skip off happily to the party!


The problem however came after the party, when her sister came home, apron tied around her flanks, she’d gotten her cutie mark at the party! And it was different than the one that  Roulette had painted on!  Patting her sister reassuringly on the head, Roulette with a glint of mischief in her eyes said that they were going to make Daddy proud with the trick they were going to pull!

Roulette once again covered her sister’s cutie mark up with makeup, and after her parents usual performance,she stood up on stage and exclaimed that she, the GREAT Mirage (Oooh she liked that) would  show them something they had never seen before! She levitated her sister up onto the stage “Behold! I will change this filly’s very cutie mark!”

With a bit of theatrics, some horn sparks and ect, she managed to dazzle them all as she quickly wiped the fake cutie marks away. “BEHOLD!”

The display dazzled the crowd, and while they ooed and awed over her little sisters new “destiny”  Roulette slipped off to think, a smirk crossing her face, so they really believed she could change destiny..? If this backwater little berge  would fall for it, why not the entirety of Equestria!? Ponies  of all types would come flocking to her! Desperate for a change of fate!  And before things got hairy she’d just skip town!

Roulette couldn’t help the evil cackle that escaped her throat, as she went to her room, adding makeup, and a really good, heavy duity makeup setting powder! In  mere moments her cutie mark was transformed! And so was she! She’d make the GoLucky family proud! Not as Roulette! But as Mirage! Pony of Destiny!




 

Character Summary: Roulette is at her core a decent, hard working pony, she can be very charitable, kind, and friendly when it suits her, but her ego is bigger than her heart at times, and her pride is only second in size. Since that fateful day that gave her the idea of  “changing destinies” She’s become more showy, more mane-flippy, more attention seeking in nature.

With her silver tongue, and ability to really sell something to a pony, it’s a dangerous combo, she comes into town, changes a few cutie marks, leaves the characters to discover the fraud, and skips on to the next town, with her traveling caravan of makeup mastery.

Truth be, she regards herself as a natural talent and was hurt to be told her makeup skills required further tinkering in a beauty school,  reveling herself as a flawless natural talent to soothe the sting of possibly not being as good as she thought.

Mischievous, deceptive, but not malicious, hopefully Mirage won’t appear in your town to  “change your fate”  or your cutie mark!
