Night on the Town (#10)

ZeroHero

Taking a stab at drawing original poses while looking at snapshots of them for reference instead of drawing straight from my head - which as seen in my past drawings messes them up pretty badly. Originally, there wasn't going to be a background - just the three of them laughing but then I noticed I gave AJ a rather odd stance so I decided she needed something to lean on. So I drew a table and then just decided to draw a whole bar around them - a Rootbeer bar, that is. ;)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with looking at reference material when creating your own poses and situations; in fact it is the smart thing to do. You only want to draw them directly from memory without looking at images only once you are so used to drawing the character that you remember exactly what they look like without picture reference and not before.

As for the background, what it does suffer from is lack of perspective. The lines in the floor should be converging as they are receding in the image towards the horizon.
