The head doesn't have to be so strict to the circle. Pony heads are sometimes drawn narrower from the front, like real life pony heads, and the bridge of the nose and the forehead are often drawn a little bit flatter. This looks pretty great for a week in though. I'm sure you've done other art-type-things before, yes?

I think the head looks just fine, and for the most part we can't really see a lot of the head's outline because of her mane. One thing I noticed a while back is that a lot of ponies get their oblong look by having the ears stick out on the sides, so thats something to play around with anyway.

I REALLY like her MANE! Seriously, though, all jokes aside, the braid is awesome. Her Celtic (I think) cutie marks is really lovely, too. Overall great. My favorite part is how starkly her mane contrasts with her coat, and the beads and flowers and stuff gives her that extra exotic...something.

We have another OC here with a similar coloring scheme and I do just LOVE the way this looks.

AH, I've always loved this color scheme on horse. Silver black dapple, I think it's called, but without the dapple. And yeah, I used to draw anime-ish pictures with digital coloring. I wasn't half-bad, either! But I stopped for a few years, and my art has gotten really bad again. xD;

Oh, thanks for the tip Ginger Mint! I'll try drawing the ears to the side more, I hadn't really noticed that at all. I just assumed they were at the top. GAH, must pay more attention!

And thank you, HighRoller! I usually have so much trouble with hairstyles, but maybe because of the clean and simple coloring of ponies, I came up with this hairstyle no problem. I like how it turned out~
