Glitter was the bane of my student teaching experience.
-
And Tales, I tried to message you but it told me you couldn't receive any new messages!
-
Yeah, that was the intent. It was supposed to be "Work through your cheating, my cheating..." etc, but it didn't fit well in a speech bubble and I had to look for ways to economize space. Maybe, in retrospect, it should have been "You cheating, me cheating..."? I don't know.
Like I said, I haven't really done comics before, so a lot of this is me figuring out what visual style I like best, and how to adjust my writing style to fit.

a;lsdkasdka TANK GIRL PONY?!
IS THIS A TANK GIRL PONY.
BECAUSE I THINK I LOVE ME SOME TANK GIRL PONY.

I love herrrrr so much. I had the privilege of seeing her in concert this week. It was, and I mean this in the original sense of the word, awesome.
I think
was the first song of hers I heard! She is excellent. -
Haha, that may have something to do with the middle school students I teach. There's only so many times you can hear "HAHA Joey's ga-a-a-aaayyy!" without briefly considering it.

... D: Seriously? I think if you've reached that point as a teacher, it's time to retire.
Some of the best days I've had as a student teacher were when the students were up and about, working on things they wanted to work on. Half of the class was finishing a drawing project, the other half was either stitching or finger weaving. They were relaxed, enjoying themselves, and working on art! Voluntarily!
(uh, suffice it to say this character is not at all a reflection of my own teaching style or philosophy.)

I enjoy that her cutie mark is a muffin. Is there a story about her or is she an RP character or something?
-
I figure they probably give her the difficult kids that nobody else wants to deal with.

Not the most interesting of compositions, but I had the concept floating around in my head and it was itching to get out. I blame the post-medical oxycontin. >.> And that is a stone arrowhead cutie mark, yes.
-
Oooh she's really pretty! I like your subtle use of gradients.
-
Omg, she's adorable! I agree - she both sounds and looks like she coulda trotted straight outta FiM.
-
Yep! It's not an actual cutie mark, but a tattoo. (I know either is acceptable for the zebra lore as it stands, but I went with the tattoo.) The design and the reasoning behind it can be found here behind the spoiler at the end of the first post.

Oo, you definitely got the "you don't want to mess with this >:I" look down! I like it. Not sure what you're seeing that you don't like, either, but it seems like a solid start to wherever you end up taking it.

I took more inspiration from Maasai designs, and from what I'm reading now, Kente cloth is pretty important/sacred. This is more her getting fancy for the sake of looking fancy, rather than important rituals.
'Course, considering that most of the designs I looked at were a result of modernized commercial printing, these clothes may have been created by weaving, but it's not intended to be specifically ceremonial, no.
StarFall Window Shopping

With the muted colours, it seems kind of sad! Like she's window shopping because she can't afford it. It's a rather nice effect, I think.
