Dan smiled and nodded, removing his hat as the Sheriff made the introductions. "Mr. Rockefilly, Ms. LeMare, a pleasure to meet you both." he said sincerely. He had seen Ms. LeMare around town, but never Mr. Rockefilly...he figured that he must have been from out of town or something as he had never once seen him around Appleloosa. "Never been to one of these hoedowns before. It'll be-" Dapper Dan continued, hearing a shout from off to the side. He stepped out of the way as a white mare tore past him in pursuit of a brown stallion. He chuckled as the Sheriff berated them a little for their behaviour. Another group he'd never seen around before. He was meeting all sorts of new people here at this hoedown. They sounded like Appleloosans, especially at the mare's outburst. Dapper Dan turned to see a little red blur of a filly running among the crowd. By the time he registered what was happening, he had to quickly take another step back, nearly stumbling into the dirt, to avoid having the filly run into him. He saw Ms. LeMare get tripped, but before he could walk over to ask if she was alright, she seemed to have come up okay. He chuckled again as he watched the trio of ponies get onto the stage. "Well, it's certainly been an exciting night so far."

The writing differs from episode to episode, so it's going to be tough to figure out an alphabet.

I really, really hope that I don't have to turn to The Pirate Bay every Saturday to watch MLP. MLP is, in all seriousness, one of the few things keeping me from caving under the stress of Finals, and the thought of a new episode on the horizon is keeping me from getting depressed over how bad I'm doing in my classes. I would hate to have to torrent episodes because up here in Canada, at least here in Ottawa on basic cable, I don't get the Hub.

Actually this brings up a thought to me: contrails are created by water vapour and jet engine exhaust. However, a similar effect is produced called Wingtip Vortices (the thin clouds seen on the tips of high speed aircraft like jet fighters). It's entirely possible that as a pegasus flies at relatively high speeds (the Wonderbolts are shown in season 2 as being able to fly fast enough to be blurs (Sweet and Elite) and shear off dragon spines (Secret of My Excess), so it's possible they preform at high speeds too), they form a similar kind of "magic" contrail or wingtip vortex or other condensation trail, which, using the pegasus' innate ability to control clouds, could be used to modify these trails: for the 'Bolts, they use friction generated by their suits to charge the clouds with static to make thunderclouds, while Dash modifies her "contrails" through pegasus magic to cause them to separate into a mist, which when the sun hits causes a rainbow. Neither the Wonderbolts nor Dash always leave trails behind, and in Sonic Rainboom, the 'Bolts are flying slower than usual and while they still have a trail, it's brighter than usual and there's no lightning.

Remember that magic doesn't need to manifest itself as powers: pegasi can control weather, stand on clouds, and manipulate them into "solid" objects. For all we know Earth pony magic involves a connection to the earth that lets them be more adept at growing plants, or aiding animals, etc. Spike was hatched by magic. Perhaps that gave him his letter sending ability? It's less effort, more innate skill I believe. Also note that there's magic but not particularly "mages", per se. Spike doesn't need to be a mage to do his letter sending thing, it's innate. Twilight is shown to have incredible innate ability at magic, while others, like say Rarity, are shown with only minor manipulation of items. It just relates to their innate abilities...Twilight, being a powerful unicorn, has magic as her special ability. Rarity, a dressmaker, uses her ability to manipulate a sewing machine, needle, etc. Finally, the 'Bolts. I still say magic suits involving static electricity for the 'Bolts' trails, that can be turned on or off. It's not present when they fly in Sweet and Elite nor in Secret of My Excess, only performances. Either pegasi can create "contrails", or the 'Bolts' suits are at work. All your points are valid food for thought though ^^

He and his friends have been causing a mild ruckus around Solstice Heights and Canterlot ever since they learned of, and bought, their first skateboards. Ollie's parents are the only ones in the group that don't disprove of it...it helped him get his cutie mark, after all. Still, not many approve of the three wild friends skating around, grinding rails and doing tricks off of stairs, interrupting people's daily lives. He'd been a blank flank for a while, one of the last from his class. He'd exhausted every possibility...his two friends had their own cutie marks, unrelated to skateboarding but just the same, they had them. Then one day, while they were out skateboarding, Ollie fell. Now this wasn't a simple fall from the board thing...it was a ten foot fall from the upper walkway of a park toward the fountain below. But somehow, Ollie not only managed to turn disaster into something good, he did it with style. He got in a good Impossible to get the board righted again, and landed on the edge of the fountain, grinding around it before hoping off onto the path. His friends were first awestruck, then congratulated him on both the amazing trick and the cutie mark. After that, he was a little depressed though. What could Ollie do with a skateboarding cutie mark? The answer came when he saw a very other skateboarders one day, and realized that they were professionals, and got paid good bits to do this. It made Ollie smile...now he had a plan. Once he was old enough, and had enough money, he'd start up his own skateboarding shop. Until then, he skates, having incredible amounts of fun at the same time.

I think it's been stated that everyone has magic. Earth ponies have a special magic connection to the earth, etc. So it can be seen that everyone has magic (dragons with magic fire, zebras with magic that allows them to make their brews, etc). However, in the case of Spike, being hatched by magic could possibly have an effect. Also, there was just recently posted here an explanation for unicorn magic in that every unicorn has a different level of magic, allowing some to preform more magic than the other. As for the Wonderbolts creating their trails, I chalk it up to their suits: Aerobatic teams rely on smoke to enhance their tricks, making them more visual. The suits may be magic'd to allow them to create stormcloud trails. Dash may use her pegasus magic to a similar effect showing how she wishes she was part of that aerobatic team.

TBH, I don't trust cloud-storage for a whole lot of things. I have a terabyte HD I use for most of my files.

I got started with Bridle Gossip, and personally would recommend that, though a lot of others are good, like Fall Weather Friends. The season opener of season 2 might be good if the friends are Trekkies, as Discord will win them over for being Q, ponified. It's also amusing, and sets the characters up as well. Over A Barrel is fun too.

Two per world, also, it's one blaze powder (gotten from blaze rods) from killing Blazes. I accidentally wasted my only Ender Pearl, I planned to hit the Nether. @Diego Thank God for the /home command. I just follow a path and once I feel my luck has reached a climax, I /home before it takes a turn for the worst. So far I've got a half stack of gold, multiple stacks of Redstone, Iron, and Coal, and a bit of Lapis, and the cave isn't even half explored yet. Edit: Underneath the abandonned NPC village near my house, there's a cave system + a bunch of obsidian blocks that I repurposed into a nether frame...am I okay to light it?

I just found the biggest cave system in my entire Minecraft experience. It connects my little cabin and ravine near Bramble's house, through a huge series of caves, to a ravine near the spawn. Edit: Also, if I can make a request to allow /tp [playername] and /spawn available as commands? Might be good to show people around the server to cool, and get back to spawn if you need to.

I popped on the server last night. Pretty fun stuff. My university intertubes, localed here in Canada, means mobs are a big problem for me to fight, but otherwise a great server. Except when I got killed by an Enderman without knowing. I had no idea they spawned in caves, so I climb up to a ledge and it steps out from behind a corner...right in front of my cursor. It wasn't fun, lol.

I think it comes from someone coming up with a creative name for the pony that fits and is easy to remember, and people start using it.

Talk to you later, Willow Wisp." he said to her, smiling and giving a small bow with his head. Once she'd walked off, Dan decided to mingle and made his way closer to the party. He ended up nearby a group of ponies, one of them including Sheriff Silverstar. "Evening, Sheriff." he said, doffing his cap to him.
