  1. Zephyr never expected he would ever be able to attend something like the Gala. When a coworker couldn't make it, he was lucky enough to be the one chosen for the ticket. It seemed everyone was having a great time at the Gala, but Zephyr didn't understand what he was supposed to be doing here and felt out of place and alone. He wandered about, but nothing caught his interest until he found the Gala's Buffet. The atmosphere was so colorful and festive, it felt as if it was calling to him. And besides, free food was always something Zephyr could never pass up. Upon looking at the food selection, Zephyr couldn't help but feel excited. His eyes widened at the massive array of dishes before him. There was so much to choose from, it was hard to decide what to take. He thought about asking a nearby pony for suggestions, but then he thought that may look weird and decided against that. After a few moments, Zephyr placed a tiny bit of as many things he could fit on a plate and decided he could come back for the others later. Excited to try all these amazing foods, he went for a nearby empty table and started trying the many things he had. Not too far from him, he could overhear a conversation between a green loud-mouthed pegasus and an ivory pelted unicorn who seemed unsure of herself. Zephyr didn't mean to listen in, they were just close enough for Zephyr to overhear what was being said. Nothing out of the ordinary was said until he heard, "How'd you like to try and get into the VIP lounge?" Zephyr's ears perked up at this. "What did he mean by that?", Zephyr thought. Zephyr listened carefully to drown out the rest of the room as best as he could. He wasn't able to catch all of it, but the more he heard, the more it sounded like this pegasus was trying to sweet talk the unicorn into some con with him. Zephyr couldn't believe this pegasus would try to sway this poor unicorn down the wrong path. The two of them began to leave the room. Zephyr thought that maybe he misunderstood and no wrongdoing was going to occur, it was noisy and he may have missed crucial details, but his curiosity got the best of him, he had to follow them. Keeping himself as inconspicuous to them as possible, Zephyr followed. The two traveled well beyond the places the normal party-goers were about. "Something is definitely wrong here." Zephyr quietly said to himself. Zephyr had thought about reporting them to the waiter that had passed him by, but he did not want to get the unicorn in trouble. She seemed conflicted about this whole thing and Zephyr understood that feeling all too well. Zephyr kept himself as close as he could without giving himself away. Then he heard, "I'm ***** to swipe one ** ***** uniforms." He didn't quite hear it all, but enough to know he was trying to steal something. This didn't make sense. At first the green pegasus said the two were going to sneak into the VIP lounge, but now he was going to steal from someone? Zephyr was upset at this, he thought about charging the pegasus, but that wouldn't do any good for the unicorn and he was not comfortable starting a fight at the Gala. He simply continued to follow them through the area and up a flight of stairs where there was a hallway with a set of doors. Zephyr watched which door the two ponies had gone into. There was a single unicorn guard, but keeping himself hidden from the guard was all too easy for Zephyr. He listened in on the two and after some time, he heard the pegasus leave the room. "What was going on in there?", Zephyr thought to himself.
  2. I chose for the members gallery. The pony community has a lot of really nifty fanart and it would be really nice to see some of it here. I also like the special events like the Gala too.

  4. That's a good point Mane. I had originally written it that way, but it came off implying that he was naturally aggressive and that's not how he is. His life just brought him out that way. I'll think of how to reword it and I like the idea of him feeling conflicted. I'll note in here when I make that change. Thanks for the approval. (I was going to put him in Ponyville, but saw you guys were discouraging that, so I decided to write that into his bio.)
  5. [Pegasus] Zephyr Burst Name: Zephyr Burst (Most ponies simply call him Zephyr) Sex: Male Age: Young Stallion (Around 21 or 22) Species: Pegasus Pelt Color: Dark Green Mane/Tail Color & Style: Both are green. His tail and mane are slightly curly with his tail sometimes being a little scruffy due to him not always caring for it properly. Eye Color: Blue Cutie Mark: A teal spiral shape, like a glade of wind. He received this when he found that he was exceptionally coordinated. Physique: A bit bulkier than the normal size for a pegasus. He isn't very fast, but is very coordinated with his wings. Has a few scars from the tussles he found himself in, though they aren't too noticable. Origin: Cloudsdale, moved here recently from Manehatten to get away from his previous life. Roleplay Type: Mane Occupation: Cloudsdale's Rainbow Creation Department, periodically delivers a few packages to the eastern areas. Motivation: Finding somewhere he can fit in and be happy. He desperately wants to make amends for his past. Likes: Flying, bright vibrant colors (It differs from his dark pelt color), eating fruits; especially strawberries, reading (This is a recent thing he has picked up), fighting (sometimes). Dislikes: Himself, thieves, ponies being treated unfairly, loud and obnoxious ponies. Poison Joke Effect: He becomes unable to use his wings. Character History: Zephyr was born in Manehatten, or at least that's how he remembers it. He was orphaned in the city at a young age and took to thievery to get by. Zephyr showed no remorse for what he did and didn't care who he hurt to get what he wanted. His victims were carefully chosen unless he was desperate, which would happen more often than he liked. Due to his dark colors, he found he was able to conceal himself in the dark, which made getting the jump on ponies much easier. Zephyr's methods were about speed and efficiency, getting what he wanted (typically food or bits) and out of the situation without letting the other pony get a good look at him. This wasn't always possible, and at times, he would end up in a brawl with the other pony. Zephyr had his fair share of beatings during some of these. Each one he felt was a learning experience. How not to get caught better and how to better fight and defend himself. He eventually learned that he could use his technical flying and agility to his advantage. At one point in his life, he began to get a bit cocky with his fighting, there was a certain thrill he had gotten when trouncing another pony. Even against bigger ponies, he would usually walk away the victor after discovering how to defend himself properly. He began to enjoy hurting others, however... Zephyr would sometimes stalk or spy on potential victims. One in particular was a painter named Painted Wings. He caught her traveling to the lake in the woods nearby. Zephyr knew this made her an easy target and took the opportunity. When he knew she was alone, he struck from the shadows. He knocked her to the ground, but the bag that Painted had did not come loose and he told her to give it to him. Normally he wouldn't show himself to the other pony if it could be helped, but he needed bits fast and the two were out in the middle of nowhere. Painted refused, which only angered Zephyr, and he said it again in a more commanding tone, threatening to harm her if she didn't comply. She yelled no and tried to fly away, but Zephyr was quick to react. He forced her to the ground again and struck her to reinforce that he wasn't messing around. Painted was crying at this point and threw the bag over to Zephyr in the hopes that he wouldn't hurt her anymore. He told her to stay prone and when he looked inside, all he found were painting supplies. Angry that all this work amounted to nothing, he threw the bag to the side and approached Painted Wings, shouting at her, "This is all junk! Where are the bits?! You're an artist, you must be paid well in a city like this!" Painted looked up at Zephyr, still crying and too scared to answer. He was about to strike her again when something about how she looked at him troubled Zephyr. He had never gotten a good look at the terror and pain he caused to his victims. Not like this. Zephyr could only stare in wonder at the scared pony before him as a sudden rush of anguish came upon him. He choked on his own breath and backed away. "I'm... I'm sorry.", he stuttered the words and quickly flew off, leaving Painted alone. Zephyr couldn't bring himself to steal from anypony again. He felt regret for hurting the mare and every pony he had made a victim of. However, he was afraid that he would regress back to this and decided to leave Manehatten. He had heard that Ponyville was a quiet and very peaceful town and figured that would be the best place to go. Zephyr quickly found that Ponyville had no vacancies open and decided that Cloudsdale would be the next best choice. It is here that he hopes to carry on his changed life. He loves bright, vibrant colors, and found that a job in Cloudsdale's Rainbow Factory would be the best place to work for now. The bright colors, being vastly different from his coat, are relaxing for him. He doesn't like to show off, but when given the chance, he's found that he loves showing others his technical flying skills. Zephyr doesn't feel he's truly using his talents making rainbows, but he is happy with it for now. Character Bio: Due to a life of little social interaction, he has a hard time making friends and finds socializing to be difficult. Zephyr is scared of rejection, so he never lets on to his past and hates himself for what he's done. He tends to be quiet and reserved and has a hard time introducing himself to new ponies. At heart, Zephyr is kind and generous and does his best to help anypony in need. However, this doesn't come easy to him, old behaviors sometimes resurface and he gets angry fairly quick. He won't lash out unless he gets extremely upset or provoked. Since Zephyr didn't have any formal schooling, he has trouble reading. He does find it interesting and loves to read, despite him not being that great at it, especially with big words. He's trying, but it's a slow process. His vocabulary is also lacking and often uses simple language when speaking. Zephyr never attended any flight school or flight camp, however, he loves flying and has experimented quite a bit with his wings. He doesn't know some of the flying techniques taught at the schools, but he has had a lot of time to himself and has learned many of his own. While Zephyr was sometimes brutal when he fought others, he has made it a point to make sure to only suppress the other pony if he ever gets into a fight again. He doesn't wish to hurt anypony else ever again if it can be helped, though his anger often leads him to do more harm than is necessary. Cutie Mark Story: At one point, Zephyr was caught in the act by authorities and had to make a quick escape. The problem is he wasn't very fast and they were able to catch up to him. Zephyr was determined to not get caught and instead of out-flying his pursuers, he was able to out-maneuver them, which led to his escape. After the danger had cleared and he came out of hiding, he noticed his cutie mark, a spiral wind shape. Zephyr was quite excited about his discovery and knew what it meant. Unfortunately at the time, he only used his skills to further assist himself in taking from others. ((OOC Note: After a bit of discussion with a fellow player and comparing apps, Zephyr Burst and Swift Breeze are long-lost, fellow abandonee brothers. Hasn't come up in RP yet, though.)) Used a generator, this gives an idea of his dark coat color. Art done by ChelseaGold ----- Relationships ----- Painted Wings: Mugged her and knows her face, but doesn't know her by name. He hopes to never meet her again as he doesn't want to face her. Note: This wasn't in an RP, but a connection made beforehand. Thunder Boomer: Met him during the Gala after following him. Does not know Boomer by name nor does he think highly of him. CookieSweets: Met her during the Gala after following Thunder Boomer. Thinks of her the same way he does Boomer. Starlight Melody: Met her in the Racing Hall of Fame when she was practicing her singing. He's taken a rather rapid liking to her and has a strong desire to help her succeed. Unfortunately, Starlight seems to have disappeared from Zephyr's life, to which he decided it best to move on. Madden: Met him in a cafe in the Racing Hall of Fame. He not too sure what to think of Madden yet, but he feels that Madden means to do good. Malediction: Met her in Canterlot after she was stopped by Radiant Steel. He thinks she's a bit crazy but misunderstood. Developed a little crush on her during their short time together, but is now having second thoughts on it. Bonfire: Met him in Canterlot. He seems to like to throw his authority around on others. Zephyr hopes to never see him again. Radiant Steel: Met her in Canterlot with Bonfire. She seems inexperienced, but has good intentions. Too bad she's a guard. Maximillian Rockefilly Jr: Met him in a cave near Manhattan. Zephyr sprained Max' leg and hoped to never see him again, but is now working for him for the Trans-Equestrian Railroad Project. Due to a radical change in Zephyr's mindset brought on by Silversword, Zephyr has decided to help Max, despite their rough background together. Holly Dash: Met her during the Running of the Leaves and likes her strawberries and cheery personality. Silversword: Met her when he was pulled in to work on the railroad project at Max' recommendation. He couldn't stand being around her at first, but has come to respect her and wishes to befriend her as his thoughts on authority feel misguided and feels she is a pony worth trusting. In fact, the most trustworthy pony he knows. Is currently trying to teach her to overcome her fear of flying and hopes to show her Cloudsdale when that is successful. Steelwalt: Finds her ways odd and sometimes annoying, but knows she's very knowledgeable of flying and the ways of the world. Zephyr has many questions for her.
  6. That's such a cute name. :3 Welcome to the herd, from the looks of it, you'll enjoy it here.
  7. Ah, that makes sense. I haven't played that and won't get the chance for awhile. (I've seen most of the game up to Chapter 6 though.)
  8. I've been assuming this. Anyway, it was cool to see them give a shout out to us. That makes MLP even better.
  9. Reviving this! Books: None atm Music: Evanessence? TV: None (I don't watch TV) Movies: Napolean Dynamite Bonus (Games, and because I didn't answer 2 of these): Final Fantasy 13 Don Bluth is awesome though.
  10. I'm confused, but then again, I'm always confused. :s
  11. I enjoyed it, though I had mixed feelings about it. The love plot felt forced to me and Thor's change in attitude was very sudden, though I guess it can't be helped due to time constraints... or something. I liked the giant plot hole that Loki fell into at the end of the movie. Also, the girls guardian (the father figure) had a book on Norse mythology. Couldn't Thor have just read that book and pretty much seen the plot for the movie. It's right in there that Loki betrays him. I didn't, but my roommate did, he knows the comics though.
  12. Welcome to the herd! I think a lot of us never thought we'd like the show, but it's charm has enticed us all and brought us together. I like Rainbow Dash the most as well, mostly because of our similarities in personality. Anyway, once you have 5 posts, you can post outside of the introductions subforum, so look around and say hi to others in here and you can be on your way.
  13. I've been to San Japan and Ikkicon. I don't really watch anime much, I don't like most of it. The conventions are fun and the culture is generally welcoming though. NDK, this? http://ndkdenver.org/
  14. It's an ignorant stereotype that goes both ways. Males that like frilly things (or like feminine colors, or rather what the ignorance of society has deemed as feminine) are seen as homosexuals. People can't accept the fact that someone acts outside of what they think is 'right', and it's silly. That and what others have said here, it's all internet fluff. Just ignore it if it bothers you.
  15. I doubted the online petitions, I was curious about that though. The demand is definitely there, Hasbro just needs to see it.
  16. A mod can close this if there is already a thread for it. I searched but I didn't find anything on this. Hopefully I'm not behind the times on this but, (or hopefully I am) Hasbro has said that they do not have plans to release the season on DVD/Bluray. This is rather unfortunate. (for me and many others) I'm not a fan of iTunes and it's kind of silly to me that it's the only legit way to get a copy of this show. I'll try to find where I found this out again and link it here, unless someone beats me to it. Anyway, I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this. On a side note, how much help are petitions for things like this? For example: http://www.change.org/petitions/we-want ... dvd-please If these things can encourage them to release a physical copy, then it would be awesome if more people signed things like this.
  17. I thought this episode was brilliant in that it shows how easy it is for someone to feel hurt and betrayed. Using Pinkie for this role was the best choice because she's seen as so easy going. To her friends, they probably thought she'd brush it off like she does with most things. A few episodes back Pinkie says the easiest way to lose a friend is to lose their trust. Pinkie catches them all lying and to her in this episode. That mixed in with Pinkie seeming to have a fear of being alone drove her over the edge. It was shown a bit extreme, but it showcases it perfectly. Definitely one of my favorite episodes so far.
  18. It suddenly all makes sense.
  19. In the last episode she made the "The punch has been spiked." comment, proving that she's even more of a party girl than originally thought.
  20. I'm catching a Code Geass vibe. Welcome to the herd!
  21. That was enjoyable to read. The end of it made me laugh, so it's a win in my book.
  22. I seriously giggled when I saw this. I won't be able to unsee that in stores now.
  23. Good to see you here PaintedWings. Looks like it didn't take people long to figure out your love of cats. -_-

    Rola, Nur!

Welcome to the herd ZeraStar, this is a pretty fun loving place. Hooray, I won!
  25. My thoughts on the episode were pretty much the same everyone else. The only part that made me go "bleh" was the beginning with Twilight overstating how Spike was #1. The part with the mouse toy had me laughing, I also felt that was pushed just a bit farther than it should have, (at least for a kid's show) but I didn't think it took anything away. Though I did think this as well. http://ponibooru.413chan.net/_images/33 ... s_well.jpg Dastardly Spike made the episode for me though. XD I'm very sure he will be, but he'll be in the background more than anything and mostly only in the library. Just a guess. I kinda think that, but another thought of mine is Rainbow Dash doesn't really know how to respond or handle that sort of attention. Scootaloo has shown that she is somewhat obsessive. I would say that Rainbow is possibly ignorant of this, not ignorant to Scootaloo looking up to her, but not understanding how much she does. This could eventually lead to Rainbow saying something to disappoint or even offend Scootaloo. That or she'll take advantage without trying to. I don't see Rainbow ever being intentionally malicious, I just don't see Scootaloo's obsession with her leading to something good. It just makes sense to me that Rainbow will eventually do something to let Scootaloo down. @DaBatGuy: That would've been badass.
