Hippo

Well, we know that sometimes they derp and don't give wings on pegasi, even on proper perspectives. Face and body forward perspectives tend to leave them out, probably cuz it's easier on the animators. A folded wing would just give the illusion that they have a wider body frame, anyways, i think. heres two more interesting looks: Wings out is obvious, but even when she is flying, the point where the wings would fold next to the body really isn't visible past the wide shoulders of the ponies.

Also, I've noticed that the marching ponies shots in "Best Night Ever" don't seem to give light that Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash are pegasi. They look just like earth ponies when they are given that perspective.

As Tempest left her well-introduced friend, Granola, who was still nearby, smiled in harmony with joyous moment of meeting somepony new. New in more ways than one. It suddenly dawned on her. Granola, noticing Aqua's fish-like features, suggested to herself in her mind that this hippocamp might need some water for survival purposes. "Oh My Gosh!! You need water don't you!!?" Without giving any time for a response from Aqua, Granola gave a quick panicky tip toe and ran away shouting, "Don't worry I'll be right back!"

I think Tara Strong voices Fluttershy in Stare Master when she exclaims, "...The Everfree Forest!!?"

Ugh....Can not be unseen. Very bad pony thoughts indeed. I thought this too. It's almost like Rarity has a few loose screws in her head that allow her horn to wobble.

Granola stared. And stared some more. To the other ponies, all they could see was a brown earth pony making a fool of herself. Her ears were folded cowardly back and her eyes were severely dilated. She saw Luna look at her and say something. And behind her, she saw Tempest speak many words as well, with a gleeful look on the pegasus' face. Granola could hear nothing though. Her ear drums were shocked by fear flowing through her brain and her thoughts. She froze her entire body. All she could see or imagine is what they would do to her after Luna ordered the guards to arrest her for misconduct. She could picture herself in a dungeon where Luna banished her to: a dark and lonely place where only the bones of ancient prison ponies reside. Suddenly, Granola's desire to see the garden had quickly evolved into a plea for forgiveness. But instead, the silly pony would fumble her words once again. And after seeing the surrounding ponies stare at her and watching their lips stop moving for a response, she decided to gain just enough composure to attempt to speak casually. She picked herself up from the dusted ground and began to stutter, "S- sorry, Princess L-Luna. It's nice to meet you?" She didn't really intend to say it as a question. She just wasn't sure if Luna felt the same way. Granola decided to try to relate with Luna with her small talk, so she blurted out the first thing that came to her mind. "What's the moon like?" Sixteen one-thousandths of a second later, Granola Gracie cupped her front hooves over her mouth and began to cry. Why must her mouth always be the one thing that keeps her from making friends.

I really like that. I like how they looped Rarity without it looking choppy. How her tail suddenly dissapears is kind of annoying, but than again, I am very nitpicky at times.

Her main goal in life is to live like a regular pony without looking stupid. Her primary talent is detected when danger is coming or if something bad is going to happen. And although Canterlot is a city filled with sophistication and glamor, Miracle's parents lived a rather simple life and only worked for the things they needed. When Miracle's mother was pregnant with her, trouble seemed to shroud the happy couple. They lost work, experienced strange weather and droughts, and ran out of money. However, they were resilient and never even considered their pre-born foal was to blame. After she was born, her mother grew very sick, and needed serious medical attention. When her parents went to the local doctor to check on her mother, the lack of attention they gave their newborn pony caused her to wander off to a local violent river. The foal fell in and swept her downstream. Alarmed, the parents looked frantically everywhere for their little baby. Eventually, after getting the locals involved in a city-wide search, she was found resting on a river bank a couple miles downstream from where she fell in. She was unharmed. Her parents, who were emotionally drained by all of the stresses they had dealt with recently was erased by the sheer joy that their baby was alive and well. In fact, her mother's sickness left her starting that day. It was then her parents gave her the name they believed she best represented: Miracle. Miracle's first day of school was challenging for her. She had very few friends and everypony made fun of her for her strange behaviors. On one particular day, she was more jumpy than usual and warned everypony that lightning was going to hit them if they went outside during recess. Everypony laughed, because it was very sunny outside. When they came back inside, Miracle stayed standing as everypony took their seats. When asked, she said she was afraid her desk would collapse if she sat in it. Everypony laughed, and some snickered at her larger-than-average figure. Later, she would refuse to ring the school bell at the end of the day, for fear that it would fall and crash on her from above. Everypony laughed, as another pony volunteered to ring it. As all of the school fillys and colts ran out of the building, they chanted "scaredy-pony, scaredy-pony" at Miracle. That night, a horrific storm passed through most of Canterlot. The weather ponies made a scheduling error, having more ponies move clouds through the mountain range than normal. It scared Miracle to the bone. Eventually, the next day would come, and the weather ponies had already began fixing the mistake they made, removing struck tree branches and draining the water where it was still standing. The schoolhouse was in mint condition, fortunately, and nothing seemed to be wrong with it. When school started, everypony seemed to be late. The teacher apologized to the foals because the bell had been inoperable because the wind knocked it down the bell tower. A few foals noticed the coincidence. The teacher also apologized that recess would have to be cancelled because the tether ball pole had been struck down by lightning. Everypony began gasping and looking at Miracle freakishly. One of the ponies, a stuck-up filly who received her cutie mark before everyone else, argued that it was all a coincidence, and the fact that somepony could predict the future was just an old mare's tale. Just then, she sat down in her desk at it collapsed on her. Everypony was looking at Miracle, and she hated the attention. But they were not looking into her eyes, they were looking at her flank. She looked back to find a cutie mark had appeared: an upside-down horseshoe, representing her ability to detect danger and unfortunate events, while at the same time imply that they may be following her. The ponies who knew her story would take note of her reaction to things. However, when she fears something will happen, it's often turns out to be a false alarm.

As they spontaneously start singing at the entrance of the gala, I noticed my OC, Granola Gracie, was spotted marching with the other pretty party ponies. How exciting!! Is your pony singing?

Granola is keeping it simple.

try this i pulled from sonic rainboom. When Fluttershy is sitting down, her wings arent even visible. This is strange, but I can only guess that it's because they are folded and the animators decided it was a good excuse to not draw them, provided that her wing extrematies grew out of her back, and none of her side. In any event, it looked good from the viewers point. When she was jumping up and down, she was not 'sitting' but I can imagine her sitting like that in midair. I hope these help.

Trixie's only appearance provides lots of looping opportunities. However, most of her loops are pretty simple. But simple is sometimes good. Granola began galloping towards Luna and the ponies who were talking to her. As she got closer, she could overhear the slightly awkward gestures the ponies were throwing at Luna, while Luna played the nervous game herself and relayed the social anxiety back to them. Granola was pretty good at detecting anxiety, but only because she struggled with it so much herself. Granola had trapped herself so many times before with words that she spoke but shouldn't have. Granola began to smell the fragrances of Canterlot-grown roses and tulips. Her love for plants had adapted her the ability to sense these things from greater distance that most other ponies. Granola began daydreaming about the garden again and wondered what it would be like inside those royal gates. She imagined the future where a befriended Luna would walk her into the garden walkway and give her the tour of the courtyard. And in between the moments of being taken by the pure pleasantry of the plant life, she and Luna would look at each other with the look that says, 'were going to be best friends forever.' Granola blinked herself back into the real world and suddenly noticed her proximity to Luna. Her gallop had been turned into a full sized run because of the loss of concentration. Luna was only hooves away when Granola realized how close she really was. She could see Luna's eyes lock to her's as she noticed this brown-colored earth pony hauling haunch right at her. Granola leaned back on her hooves and tried to stop herself as soon as she could. Her momentum caused her hooves to pick up dirt and dust from the constantly-trampled pathway. Some of the dirt was kicked up on Luna's bright blue hooves. The moment Granola finally came to a stop, a guilty look of regret filled her body language. She knew she had to apologize, for it wasn't even an option at this point. But the overwhelming amount of nervousness kept her mouth from ever opening. About five long seconds past and she still said nothing as the silence grew. I should have just gone home she thought to herself.

Granola's facial expressions responded sensitively to Tempest's explanation. She knew that it wasn't right to judge others by their appearance, something the entire community of Ponyville had learned about Zecora some time ago. So Granola decided to break the invisible social barrier that separated the Ponyvillians from the hippocamp and newly acquainted pegasus. "Hi. My name is Granola Gracie. Sorry if I alienated you there for a second." Granola smiled gleefully and for at least a second provided a friendly persona. "You're kind of a fish out of water." Granola regretted saying the last sentence the moment it came out of her mouth. She immediately understood that her unintentional pun would not go unnoticed and she was sure Aqua would take offense to a fish joke. This wasn't the first time Granola's mouth got her into trouble. Her short meditation on her social blunder controlled her eyes as she took notice at Aqua's appearance at a closer distance. She was close enough to see the individual size of Aqua's scales and the full length of her tail fin. "So... you like to swim?" Granola was trying to break the ice, but it was like picking apart an iceberg with a toothpick for her. She gave a cheesy smile and tried to prevent Aqua and Tempest from 'getting the wrong idea'.

I have recently self taught myself on how to create attractive animated GIFs. These are pretty cool for avatars, signatures, and sometimes serve a multimedia purpose. Here are some examples I have made that come from pony episodes: (THIS ONE IS UP FOR GRABS IF SOMEPONY WANTS IT. It meets avatar dimensions. If you would like a customized animated gif, feel free to post a request. Here are the details I'll need: - Video you want it pulled from, including timestamps - Purpose of the animation (avatar, sig, etc.) - A good description of how you want it to loop, and/or your expectations If anybody else who knows how to make simple animated GIF files wants to create their own versions of a request, feel free to give it a shot. I'd like to make this an open thread for anypony who wants to get their hooves wet. For beginners, it's important to know that an animated GIF is just a series of GIFs put together, like a flipbook, if you will. So an animated GIF doesn't have to be a 'video' per-say. It can simply be a slideshow of a few pictures. A freeware (up to 20 uses) that I sometimes use is Easy GIF Animator. You can download the trial here.

The problem with this one is the moving background makes it loop un-smoothly. Is this for avatar or sig, or something else? Give me specific of what you're imagining so I can meet expectations.

Thank you for the input. I tried to pace it well without making it too structured. Sometimes, I resorted to slant rhyme to prevent using words that don't apply at all. I figured as long as I could continue some sort of rhythm, the reader would be able to read it properly. I'm not a big fan of poems that rhyme, most of mine are very abstract and use line arrangement. There are a few lines I'm not 100% satisfied with, so your input is invaluable. I'm gonna let this poem simmer with more feedback until I try to change some it, though. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
