1. Posting order sounds good to me. Also, apologies on the silence, been busy with stuff.
2. Fleet Paw was going to camp! The young cynogiffon was practically buzzing with excitement as the wagon carrying him, his mother, and a number of other families was pulled down the path towards their destination, Camp Little Lake. It took everything he had to stay in his seat. Fleet loved being outside, especially when he's either running or exploring somewhere. Considering that his parents told him time and time again that he's not to go exploring far from the camp, he was content with the thought of being outside with other foals and cubs his age. There weren't many other kids his age back in Rockwington, and none of them were ever really good friends with him. Either way, these next few days were going to be awesome, because he was going to make them awesome. As the wagon came to a halt, Fleet blasted out of his seat and off his feet as his mum grabbed him. "Hang on, Fleet. Let everyone else ahead of us off first." Fleet groaned as the other ponies on the wagon got up and began to hop off the back and onto the dirt road. As soon as Fleet's claws hit dirt, he noticed a group of other ponies and griffons his age. He started to run over, only to be grabbed by his mum yet again. "Hey, before you run off," she pulled Fleet in close for a hug. Giving her a hug in return, he smiled at her. "I'll be good, I promise." "No running off?" She looked right in his eyes. That was the only way she could ever get him to listen to her. "Explorer's honor," he snapped a rigid salute. One more hug between the two of them, and Fleet was off. He ran over to the group, a big stupid smile plastered on his face, eager to meet someone new. "Hi everyone! I'm Hopesong! I hope we can be friends!" Fleet looked around for the source of the voice and noticed a light green pegasus floating over. She seemed like she'd be a good friend. Fleet excitedly waved a claw at her, trying to get her attention. "Hey Hopesong! I'm Fleet Paw!" Big stupid grin still on, he started walking in her direction. "How's it goin'?"
3. Sorry for the silence. Been busy doing other stuff. Also, starting Maneworks. Same reasons that Kirby started Coal Town. Speaking of Coal Town... someone else mind bumping that? I'd rather not, seeing as I went directly before Kirby.
4. Janice almost dropped her pistol as Edd unexpectedly started shooting. "Hey, what do you think you're shootin' at? There ain't..." She stopped as she noticed the flying target approach, disappear, and reappear nearby. She brought her pocket pistol up and ready at the newcomer just as Tinker pointed his controller and sentry at him. "Do you identify yourself as Equine?!" That Tinker said "equine" and that didn't include Janice went completely over her head until he added "...no offense." It still went over her head, but she didn't think too much of it. "Equine, you're the only mercenary group in the area?" Well, he wasn't hostile. Right now, anyway. That didn't mean she trusted him completely, and kept her pistol up. "Yeah, I s'ppose we are." Janice slowly began to circle the pegasus, sizing him up. Lean, but fit, and covered in a bunch of fancy gadgets. "So, what, you hired by Mane Co too? Or you here for somethin' else, mister fancy pants?" If this guy was hired by Mane Co, then they must have some serious money if they could afford to suit him up like that. And why couldn't they give that kind of stuff to everyone else? This made Janice uncomfortable. Maybe he wasn't hired by Mane Co. Maybe he was a spy for the robots, or whoever built the robots. And to just suddenly appear like that from the same direction as that giant blue tank? Suspicious, suspicious. Just as Janice was starting to get behind Ghost, a voice over a loudspeaker rang out across the soon-to-be-battlefield. "Mission begins in 60 seconds." Janice stopped circling as the information in that once sentence processed in her head. Aw, monkey poo.
5. Fleet Paw streaked down the street. He was late for school! And on his first official day in Ponyville, too. He ran as fast as his little legs could carry him, backpack thumping against his back as he yelled the occasional "Excuse me! Sorry! Coming through! Excuse me!" at the ponies he passed, more than one of whom gave him a nasty look as he ran by. He felt bad about it, but there was no time. School was starting, and he was running late. Even if there were easily five other ways he wanted to run down, if for no other reason than to explore the town, he had to get to school on time. Panting, he finally saw the school building come into sight. Putting on one last burst of speed, he sprinted the rest of the way to the school yard. Skidding to a halt a few yards away, he panted as he took in the sight. The massive red building before him must be the school building. That's the only explanation that made sense, since there were other children about his age arriving to school. Speaking of arriving, it looks like he arrived just on time, if not early. That's gotta be a record or something for how far he had to run. Taking a few deep breaths to try and normalize his breathing, he walked the rest of the way to the door. Stepping inside, he saw even more kids already seated, waiting for the day to start, and others still standing about, chatting amongst themselves. Amongst the students currently here, none of them were griffons. Darn. Hopefully when more arrive there'll be a griffon or two. Setting his bag down on the empty desk chair closest to the door, he began to do a few stretches his dad told him he should do after running. He was never told why he should do them, but it felt good to do them, so Fleet did them.
6. Okay, I KNOW we had a topic for this somewhere, but after some looking around, I've come up empty. If a mod can point me at that thread and just merge this one with that one, that'd be pretty cool. Or we could just start a completely new thread. Anyway, the idea behind this thread is to post where you have found some cool pony stuff and to see if anyone knows where you can find said stuff. For example: I've seen a couple of pictures with pony plushies in them. I know there are are places like Ebay and other various websites that have fan made ones, but the ones I've seen looked professionally made, and I wanted to know if anyone's seen them in actual stores before I go out looking for them only to come up empty handed. If anyone could tell me some stores that they've seen them in (Toys'R'Us, Walmart, etc) that would be pretty awesome. I would say where I've seen cool stuff, but the last time I went looking for pony stuff it was during Season 2 and I was looking specifically for blind-bags, so I don't have anything to share.
7. Hey guys. Hey. Hey guys. Hey... When are we gonna start this shindig?
8. Suddenly, Cynogriffon apps for WoE. Thousands of them... Dear lord what have I done.
9. Ignoring the majority of discussion up to this point, this what I have to say on the episode. It moved ridiculously fast. Like, "it was basically a summary of two episodes in one" fast. I feel like it would have been a little nicer if it was a two-parter, but at the same time, it worked as one episode, even if I still don't like that it moved so stupidly fast. It just seemed like there was no buildup to her becoming a princess. It was just, like, "Oh, so we decided, right now, you're gonna be a princess. Not gonna summon you to Canterlot, not gonna give you a heads up, just 'nope, right now' you're gonna be a princess." I don't care that all three seasons have been building up to this point, if secretly, I just feel like it would have been a little better if it was a little slower and spanned two episodes rather than being crammed into one. Also, I can't be the only one who thought "Did this just become 'My Little Musical'?" Because there was a TON of singing in this episode. Not that singing is a bad thing (I actually rather liked Twilight's singing voice, plus AJ got a decent verse to save her from that **** that was "Raise This Barn") but it certainly felt like the majority of the episode was mostly singing. At the end of the day though, this episode put a smile on my face. That's a good episode if ever I've seen one.
10. A cynogriffon. Half wolf instead of half lion for a griffon. I swear it's legal under the playable species list. I saw it and saw no one else playing one, so I made one. That was almost a year ago too. If you really want me to, I can just make it a normal griffon.
11. With the competition sizing up, Janice grinned as she began to walk to the "front lines" with everyone else. Began being the key word, as she quickly remembered that she not only left her pistol but also her new scattergun in the base. With her freakish running speed, she made it back to the base in no time at all, still oblivious to the giant "UPGRADES" sign above the bar, upon which she placed her bag. Inside, she pulled out her trusty pistol. Checking the ammo, she set it down to pull out her newest toy, the scattergun. Giving it a quick test run by shooting the wall, it made a nice BANG as the wall received a nice new set of bullet holes. Working the lever, she ejected the empty shell, which clattered to the floor. The last thing in her bag was the "uniform" she was given: A blank red t-shirt. Classy. But, it was a uniform. Donning it, she realized that she had no nice way of carrying her weapons into combat. No nice way, except her bag. Slinging it back over her shoulder, she sheathed her bat between the bag and her back, with the pistol sitting inside the bag itself, which was left half-open for quicker switching. Now properly armed and dressed, she ran out of the base over to the front line, demonstrating two of the things she was good at: Running fast and double jumping. The other things being, naturally, beating heads and delivering packages. On her way, she practiced switching between her current gun and her other two weapons. After a few slow starts, she eventually felt comfortable switching between the weapon in her claws and one in the bag. The only thing left was to lower her goggles over her eyes and wait for the robots to show up. "A'ight boys, ready t' see a show? You may not want ta look directly at me when I'm workin', lookin' at dis much awesome in one spot include, but ain't limited to, blindness, nausea, and hatin'." Snapping her goggles to her face, she looked to her team mates with a wicked grin. "Fair warnin'." Twirling her pocket pistol with a claw, she waited for the robots to arrive.
12. Name: Fleet Paw Species: Cynogriffin Place of birth: Rockwington Personality: Hyperactive explorer Appearance: Green eyes, orange feathers and fur sticking straight out. Runner's physique.
13. Please disregard me waiting for Drakeven. I had forgotten that he had posted after me. So, in reality, it's my turn now. ... ****.
14. This tickles me funny. I want to support this as much as I support FiM, but at the same time so few details about this are known, most critically whether it's simply a rumor or actually going to happen, that I'm afraid to get super excited about it only for it to be disappointing. Among other questions (are the girls going from Equestria to Earth, is it simply Alternate Universe where it's the similar girls just always as humans instead of ponies, etc), I think the biggest question is who the target audience is. Is it still going to be targeted towards younger girls, or is it going to be targeted toward the bronies? I've heard both, and I'm not sure how to react to the possibility of it directly targeting us, the older folks. I guess, really, what it boils down to, is whether it will maintain the (usually) high quality of FiM, or be a spin-off that spins off into the realm of "potentially good things gone horribly wrong." On top of, you know, actually existing. Also, is it me or do the girls looks suspiciously similar to a certain of humanized ponies?
15. Demo: I'm liking what I hear. Sounds like Bomb Voyage is coming along nicely, and a Demoknightpony is always fun. (Try getting a team together to derp around on MvM easy mode and play as the Demoknight. It's actually quite powerful once you get some upgrades (winkwinknudgenudgelet'sdoitcoughcough)) Also, derp eyes instead of one eye. That sounds like fun. Maybe even giving her the Scotch Bonnet hat, since it has the face shield. Maneworks: I'm not posting, because I'm waiting for Darkeven and NovaArkwing to post, as well as maybe Fawful if he decides to carry through with Nightshade. It's a courtesy issue with me that prevents me from posting; I'm of the "wait for everyone else to have a turn before posting again" variety, and I posted right before you. So now I'm waiting for Darkeven to post, and preferably Nova and/or Fawful too. I didn't wait very long on CoalTown because Tortoise finally posted and I got impatient. Me having fun: I named my Engi-Botkiller Scattergun "Janice Windracer" ("Remember the name! You're gonna lose to it!"). Point of interest, it also counts how many Snipers I've killed. This is completely coincidental. Actually, thinking about Sniper and encountering a random player with a Hale's Own Huntsman, now I'm thinking about yet another character. Huntsman, Darwin's Danger Shield, Tribalman's shiv and Ol' Snaggletooth hat. Lived on his/her own in the wild since basically foalhood. Made his/her equipment by hoof. Reasons for returning to civilization pending, but I thought that was a neat concept start.
16. What if the OC you want to use is already a cub/foal? Or should I just stick with using an adult time-warped to foalhood?
17. "This watch was invented at Mann Co specifically to kill you twice!"
18. Nightmare Moon-butt wants the night to last forever? Here ya go!
19. I don't even need to see a character app. Solid gold A+ character right there. I wish I had thought of that first.
20. So you're playing your favorite multiplayer game and you're stuck playing with these noobs that have zero clue what they're doing. "Great," you think, "I'm going to be stuck carrying them to victory by myself." And sure enough you get absolutely no where because you refuse to properly tell them what you need their help to do. The baddies win, game over, and you cry a little inside. Stupid freaking noobs. But wait? What's this? Your friend got stuck with the same guys, and they're doing miles better than you were when you were with them. What is this madness!? This, my friends, is called "teaching." And you can do it too! All it takes is a little communication skills and some patience and that noob will suddenly become just slightly better and more aware of what they're supposed to be doing! That Sniper trying to 360 no-scope headshot in TF2? Let him know that you can do that all you want, but it's not gonna do anything because headshots only count when scoped (except the Spy's Ambassador but that's an exception not the rule). That Priest in WoW firing off the first attack and pulling all the aggro to him? Give him a friendly reminder that Priests wear the lightest armor in the game and are generally better suited for being healers than damage dealers. All of these little lessons go a long way towards improving that person's skill, and concurrently, their enjoyment of the game. That guy playing for the very first time having zero clue what he's doing? Instead of leaving him to the wolves, try talking to him. See what he likes playing, if he's played a similar game before. Be patient, let him know what works and doesn't work with his class/loadout/character/flying space monkey-zombie robot/etc. Tell him where to get his training wheels before trying to teach him how to do a wheelie. Who knows? You might make a good friend in the process, and with time, a dependable ally and comrade to go saving the princess with. This Korok132 saying good night, and next time, help a brother out.
21. Sweet Scent dreaded this moment. The moments before fighting to began were filled with nothing but anxiety and fear. The countdown only made it worse. As the voice counted down the numbers, she continued pointing her Quick-Fix at Reveille, still not believing he was completely fixed. She braced herself as the voice reached one and the tell-tale clank of metallic hooves came over the hills. This is it. The fight has begun. She had expected massive robots to come, destroying anything and everything in it's path. That was their goal right? To destroy the town? Why not send giant death machines to blow everything up. Rather, what she received was a swarm. Okay, not as horrifying and impossible, but still really bad, right? Well, apart from them being metal, the pegasii seemed rather... scrap-ish? Hodge-podgy? A heck of a lot less intimidating than she had anticipated, anyway. However, they were incredibly rude. THAT she could deal with. She dealt with rude customers all the time. Except this time they were just being generally obnoxious rather than directly rude to her. To accent their rudeness, they even put a round in Reveille's leg, at which Sweet Scent winced. The wound seemed to close rather quickly from her Quick-Fix, however, so it didn't seem like it would slow him down much. Speaking of slow, she heard from behind her a new minigun rev up and unleash a maelstrom of bullets into the robots. Somehow, the bullets never hit her or Reveille, who had started shouting at the slow moving shooter "You're with us, right? Fire! Fire! Fire! They're right on top of us!" Sweet Scent crouched down, trying to be as small a target as possible. Heal ray or not, she did NOT want to get shot.
