  1. I was actually just thinking that. Antics and hilarity ensue!
  2. Wonderful ideas guys! We'll be the most jacked up family ever!
  3. Absolutely! Anything is great; we're building completely from scratch. Thanks, and welcome to the family!
  4. YAY! Hopefully Smile is in it. I've refused to listen to it until it airs in the show.
  5. play Type: World of Equestria Name: Sugar Crystal Sex: Female Age: Older Filly, young Mare Species: Pegasus Eye Color: Light Blue Coat Color: White Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Light gray, tied back neatly with bangs. Tail is tied with a light blue bow towards the bottom. Physique: Average sized, athletic build Cutie Mark: A sugar cube and a bit. She earned it while simultaneously hosting at the Pancake Stable Restaurant and cooking while her mother was sick and her brother (Maple Sugar) was on duty in the REA. Origin/Residence: She was born in Stalliongrad and now lives on the Sugar Grove Maple Tree Plantation right outside of Stalliongrad. Occupation: She originally was a host and waitress along with her mother in the restaurant, but has since moved up to taking care of some kitchen operations with her father while Maple Sugar is off in the army. Maple Sugar taught her how to cook, and she is on par with him in skills. Her hosting and entertainment is not as upbeat and jovial as his, as she is trying to balance three operations of the restaurant at once most of the time. During harvesting season she refines the sap after Maple Sugar collects it. Motivation: While Sugar Crystal loves her family, she wants more than just living on the orchard and working in the restaurant. Her personality is not as suited for entertainment as her brother, and because of his boisterous attitude she has grown somewhat shy. She wants to be as good as a hostess and entertainer as her brother, but she finds it hard to do as he is off at the REA. She wants to travel to the rest of Equestria and learn about business practices in other areas. Likes: (optional) Tips, pancakes, Maple Sugar, cooking, business and making money Dislikes: (optional) Weeknights and off-tourist season, confrontation, intense social interaction Character Summary: Sugar Crystal is shy, but can act well enough to get by in the restaurant by giving good, simple customer service. She prefers to be in the kitchen where she interacts with the familiar staff, though sometimes in can be overwhelming with her father and his constant action. Her cutie mark came about the day after her brother left for the REA. Her mother, who usually takes care of hosting and business while Sugar Crystal plays the waitress, retired to her room where she lamented about her "poor baby colt" all day. The restaurant was one short in the kitchen and one short in the front of the house. Sugar Crystal stepped up to the plate and helped out in the front and the back, and at the end of the day her cutie mark appeared. She had the business and the food under control, though hectic as it was. She wants to learn more about restaurant and business practices all over Equestria, and the simple, normal life she leads gets boring in Stalliongrad. She leaves as often as she can when other members of the Sugar family arrive at the restaurant to help out and goes exploring. She trusts her wait and kitchen staff more than anyone in the world, and opens up mostly to them. The customers know her as the filly that gives the quickest and least chatty service, and many of them appreciate the change from Maple Sugar's and their Father's normally noisy, outgoing service. Some pony's miss it and don't appreciate Sugar Crystal as much.
  6. Hey there everypony! We've got a few families going around here already, and I thought I'd join in on the fun with the GoLucky's, The Nuts, and the Apples! So I've got the Sugar family! A little background for ya- The Sugar family is from Stalliongrad. Maple Sugar, his sister (who I am playing), and their parents own the Pancake Stable Breakfast Restaurant and the Maple Tree orchard surrounding it. They could use some help from cousins and aunts and the like, and then there could be other members of the family living elsewhere! Have fun with it! We've got one cousin already who's sort of the black sheep, as he is a waffle fan instead of pancakes. There isn't a lot of family history yet, so you've pretty much got free range with your characters. List of members Maple Sugar and Sugar Crystal(character pending)- Blackjack Powdered Sugar (character pending/cousin)- SunCanoe CrosStich Korok132 VinylScratch-Fructose (character pending) Flutterscotch waterhippopotamus Help extend our family tree!
  7. I saw a graph like this before. I'm not saying season two is bad, because a lot of the time the development of the one character it's focused on or the detailed development of the world/side characters is more than what happened in season one (dismissing the fact that this is the first time we've seen the characters at all really), and some of the gags and easter eggs are pretty funny. But, there definitely needs to be more episodes here dealing with all of them, and more episodes dealing with one on one relationships between the Mane Six. How they act on their own can be completely different from how they act in a group. Pinkie Pie's whole character changed (in my opinion) in Baby Cakes and developed in a big way, but we don't see the consequences of this on the other characters, which could be rectified by adding a little bit more Twilight into the episode. Character development is great, but needs to be in context with the rest of the show and characters, much in the way the CMC development naturally lends to it, as they usually (with the exception of Cutie Pox and Sisterhooves Special) develop as a group anyway.
  8. That's a good point. Really, you could look at any of the characters and say they have too much of an obsession with whatever they do in real life. In "Applebuck Season", Applejack worked too hard, in "Art of the Dress", Rarity was too generous, etc. etc.. They learn their lesson in the end, so in a way, the show is exemplifying and correcting the dangers of over obsession for the new generation. I think as long as you're not encroaching on anyone else's personal boundaries or securities, obsession, and even over obsession in the right circumstance is ok. As long as it's handled appropriately.
  9. This is going to be quite a large pony universe if they keep developing all these characters, not that I really have a problem with that. At what point though does the fandom get to the point where we forget who the show is aimed towards and their attention spans or ability to keep up with these characters? I'm not saying many of them wouldn't appreciate a Big Macintosh development, but I think with the way his character has developed so far they'd rather see him as the strong, quiet, and sensible pony he is. Too much insight into his character could change him in a way the fandom doesn't necessarily want. I'm happy with Big Mac the way he is, though I am looking forward to the Valentine's episode as well. I'd like him to stay the same pony.
  10. Not a fan of Fluttershy and Big Mac, or shipping characters who aren't obviously at least in like with each other. I'm interested to see how this goes for Big Mac, Cherilee is pretty opposite of him. OH MY GOSH WHAT IF BIG MAC SINGS?
  11. You and your brony friends shout "SCOOTALOO! SCOOT-SCOOTALOO!" in the hallways at school.
  12. I'm trying to read The Two Towers in the midst of all the school work I've got going on. For English I'm reading Arms and The Man by G.B. Shaw, which is boring as all get out.
  13. I was thinking that too, which would be interesting to see as well. Industrialization and all that.
  14. I thought it was a little interesting in the latest episode with Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake. Pumpkin Cake is obviously a reference to her coloring, but Pound Cake's habit of hitting things seems a little deterministic. Or a reference to Bam Bam.
  15. I really hope the Flim Flam Brothers are something like the Wright Brothers. That would be adorable, plus it would be two southern type families in rivalry; one with the new technology and the old fashioned family.
  16. I watched Akira the other day, and thought it was pretty awesome. I'm in the middle of the manga right now.
  17. I'm kinda torn on the opening. I thought the beginning homage was pretty cute at first, and each of the mane six's little speaking roles are a nice touch, but I'm bored of it. Considering the other songs the show has come out with, I think the opening could have been better. Then again, it's not much of a problem for me, because I watch all my shows on dvr so I can skip commercials AND the openings. Of everything.
  18. https://encrypted-tbn1.google.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTNvDOW8vaAqUM3ZrZwF6weKL4Hw3v4nAwDJlatd8osJYVPD54k3A My friends went to eat Pho yesterday and I couldn't go, but I had some instant noodles tonight. I posted this on one of their facebook walls.
  19. I've got a 12 year old weimaraner named Macie. She's a confusing individual who has decided she doesn't want to listen to anyone in the family except my dad and when she wants something.
  20. I'd like to see a CMC episode dedicated to Scootaloo, but in general I think I'd like a little more Mane Six. It almost feels as if they're treated as equals to the CMC, and while I do like them, they're not as important as the main characters. For there to be so many CMC episodes this season, and absolutely no Fluttershy episode? Take care of all of the mane 6 first, then mess around with side characters.
  21. I don't believe the pictures have anything to do with their family. I'd like to see theirs, Fluttershy's, and especially Rainbow Dash's family at some point. There's still lot's of time left in the season. I'd also like to see more than just an appearance of Twilight's parents. A speaking role like Pinkie Pie's and Rarity's would be nice.
