"Got it." Stagelight shuffled off her saddlebags and, with them, a few feathers. She had begun to molt, as she tends to do under stress. "Oh dear. This isn't going to be a problem, is it? Don't want any feathers getting into her wounds." She laughed nervously and tried to hold her wings away from the injured fillly. Stagey brushed her hair out of her face, needing her right eye as unobstructed as possible. The mare no longer cared if those present saw her disfigurement. She knelt in front of Cinnamon and put her hooves on the pony's leg. "Like this?"

I do like the special effect gone wrong idea. And maybe Stagey wanted to incorporate something extra flashy for her first time with the lead part and set up her own downfall? I also like the use-her-own-feathers idea. And the masquerade. I'm thinking of adding a love of LARPing to her background as well. Which may have gotten her branded as a nerd and given her additional motivation to rise to stardom.

Sorry I haven't been responding so much, everypony. I'll get back to work on Stage Haunt soon, but my first priority is my English homework (I'm trying to write a children's book. And I'll have to illustrate it. And I'm running behind. So much fun...) Hey. ^_^ I did see your character app. before and thought "Oh. Another theater pony! I should go say hi to Noir," but you wound up posting here first.

I know. I started with just a pony in a mask and thought "Hmm... Maybe she could be a thespian. ...Wait. Theater? Mask? Of course!" I'm still trying to figure out the details. I'm not really sure how she would've gotten burned or exposed to a corrosive substance. Maybe a dragon was involved. Whatever happened, Stagelight probably thinks it wasn't an accident at all, and blames her understudy or a jealous filly who auditioned but didn't get in at all. I guess she uses her wings more for gesturing and expression than for flying, but if a performance calls for/can be enhanced by going airborne, she's more than happy to. She may also spread her wings in order to appear larger and more imposing. And I want an excuse to give her feathers to match her mask XD

The actors wondered who the strange pony was. She slipped away after the number. Rumors spread about a ghost haunting the theater. Cast and crew catch glimpses of the mysterious pony in the shadows. They find notes critiquing the actors and making suggestions. Occasionally, booby traps are set for the more obnoxious, cocky actors. This one. You can pick what "type" of pony: Fancy, generic, male, speed, and tasty (lol) It's a really bizarre generator, but I've seen some cool names come out of it. Just not for me. My usual variations of Niccola tend to get names that have to do with "Chocolate" or "Nickle." My favorite is "Diamond Oomph" for "NiccolaVonMask" (Speed Pony), because it sounds silly to me.

If they don't, maybe Oppen's efforts toward scientific progress can lead to an Equestrian internet. =D
