  1. Swift nodded. The barn did seem a bit worse for wear. He openned his mouth to reply, only to close it again at the greeting and subsequent shout. He looked at Strawberry for a moment, before turning and giving a respectful bow of his head. "And good morning to you." He sizes up the new face, then looks over to Strawberry. "It seems to be a filly. One who has probably seen sunnier days, it seems." He gives a slight smile. "...I suddenly feel glad I only met on the road," he calmly quips. He shifts slightly, in case he needs to step between the two.
  2. Mystery nodded with a slight sigh. "Yeah... I guess it is getting a bit late. Can't hang around all night." With a sly glance over at Jambalya, she turns to look at the buffet. "... You think we can make off with some of that free food? It's a shame to let it go to waste. And I don't see any sign saying it has to be eaten HERE, y'know?" She smirks. "I may not have gotten everything I wanted tonight, but why shouldn't I have at least a full belly, y'know?" She stands and starts heading over toward the buffet one last time. Her dress was already in bad shape, she figured, so maybe she could use it to help carry more.
  3. Letting out a hum as he looks over the house, he nods in agreement. "House fixing isn't quite my forte, but I can give it a shot. ... You might need supplies to get it fixed up, though. Paint, nails, wood, and so on. Do you have those yet?" He gives a smile. "I suppose this is its way of making you show it who the boss is, right?" He looks over at the barn. "...how about that? Checked inside it? ...or is the path to it needing more clearing first?" Rubbing his chin, he looks around some more. "...probably some tools will be needed once everything is cleaned up, but that can wait. Maybe there are tools that are still usable in the barn." He looks around. "I wonder how many days it will take."
  4. Putting on a big grin and looking around nervously at the approaching ponies, he stage whispers to the others that hadn't already run off, "So... should we be naughty ponies and run off through the city, or just stay put?" Slightly joking in tone, but still a hint of suggestion. Despite the suggestion, he stays put, watching as Tempest flies off. Idly, he wondered if he'd get tossed in some dank dungeon, even as he kept up a brave face. ...not that a pony of his stature would pose much threat. He shifts his hooves about idly, looking around.
  5. Cleaning herself up a bit more with one of the napkins, Mystery nodded. "Well, the food here certainly does look tasty, I'll give you that. ...but will I get to enjoy it or will something else run into me?" she jokes. She looks around. "...seems safe." She grabs some baked something-or-another, starting to nibble at it. She raises a brow at the compliment. "Y'know what they say about flattery." She pauses. "Falcon Noir usually said it meant somepony was about to try and soften his ribs with a well-placed hoof. ... A lot of things get said about it, I guess, but I'm rambling. Probably not the best fancy party talk, too." She looks up at the sound of some clock's chime somewhere. ((Think we should speed things along now that there's a deadline?))
  6. Bowing his head respectfully, he followed after the stammering pony. "Well, at least the hardest part is done," he comments at the creepers. "Just getting started can be a more formidable challenge than a fifty mile gallop." He looks around as he follows, taking in the overgrowth. "I am Swift Breeze. Of late, I find it fitting. Moving out of one area as swiftly as I blew in," he introduces himself with a slight smile. Idly, he wonders if he should ask a name, but eventually decides that if it's important, most likely it would come up one way or another. He occasionally nudges a creeper out of the way as he moves along, holding off on more... vigorous removal... until he sees it properly done, and where it should be done.
  7. I LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!! ...sorta. My new computer is up and running, but it's taking a lot of work to get used to it. I named it 'Opalescence' after a certain onery feline. It's certainly living up to its namesake. Now I just need to get all those wonderful essentials for the internet and such...
  8. Apologies for being out of pocket, folks. My computer decided that it was time to stop working. Doesn't pass POST even with nothing but the bare essentials plugged into the motherboard. There are few wifi hotspots around town, so I don't know how much I'll be around. Hopefully, I can get a new computer quickly. Wish me luck!
  9. With a soft chuckle, Swift Breeze nods. "My apologies. I can be a tad quiet at times. Didn't mean to startle you." At the mention of the state of the farm, Swift looks over at it. "Mmm... It certainly appears to be a difficult battle in front of you. Plants are like mischievous young foals... leave them to their own devices, and they can cause many headaches." He shrugs. "I am merely passing through, myself... but... would you care for some help? Many hooves make for easy work, after all."
  10. Scale sighed and rested his head on the table at the chiding assurance of the menu's quality. "Nope. Never had it." He opens an eye. "Oh, I couldn't do that. You already helped out quite a bit already." He sits up. "Thanks again for helpin' a silly pony like myself." ... He pauses for a few moments, thinking. "... I suppose 'cheesecake' does kinda sound better than 'cheesepie', though."
  11. Down the path, a pale-greenish pelted pony strolls ever closer, some manner of blanket or binding around its middle. Step after calm step, the stallion moves closer. Swift Breeze paused for a step, noting the filly at the gate up ahead, and noting Ponyville in the distance. "Hm..." Continuing along with his leisurely canter, Swift gave a respectful bow of his head in greeting as he got closer, wings shifting a bit beneath their bindings. "A fine day," comments the odd stallion in a calm voice as he got closer to Strawberry Fields.
  12. Blinking as she felt the hoof on her shoulder, Mystery tensed up and looked over. "...err... yeah... um.. I've had worse spills. She seems to have gotten the worse of it this time." Her ear twitched briefly at some kind of scooting sound. She paused, then shook her head. Probably just some silly pony bumping a table or something. She reached up to adjust her hat, then realized once again that she was in formal wear. ...she missed her hat. "Seems like I should have a target for a cutie mark instead with the way tonight's goin'." She smirked and shook her head again. "At least it's a bit more interestin' than I thought a formal party would be." She grabbed a couple more seats from a neighboring table and dragged them over. "If we're all gonna be crashing into each other, at least we could be social about it." She pointed at the pegasus and then to herself. "That's Robikku. I'm Mystery. Stay a while. What're your names?" she asked, eying the plates that Robikku brought over. Her belly voiced its impatience, and the grey pony carefully took a seat after checking to make sure the chair was clean after that collision.
  13. Scale Model nods a greeting, then lets out a modest cough at Granola Gracie's question before nodding at Tempest Rime and tucking his map inside his book's cover. "Tell me about it. I don't know how many times I almost walked into a lamppost or something on my first day here because I was admiring it. ...I also don't know how many times I actually did run into something. ...or somepony. Fortunately, I think I'm over that." He shrugs. "You'd be surprised with what one can do when building stuff if one's clever." He thinks. "...Ponyville, huh? Surrounded by ponyv... What are we called again? Ponyvilleans? Ponyvillites? Ponyvilluteans?" He taps a hoof to his chin as he considers the question.
  14. More events make an interesting forum. Doesn't even have to be board-wide event. Perhaps an event like an art contest in the art boards, or maybe a parasprite swarm has descended upon Hoofington RP area, or perhaps rising tensions between pony and gryphon nations. ...other ideas would be board styles for each event. Is it getting close to Winter Wrap Up Day? Perhaps those houses in the banner get a nice coat of snow. Is the next season within reach? A countdown counter somewhere might be amusing. True, a place to put all our various files and images and stuff would be nice... but there's many places on the internet to host stuff and it's just a link away. ...a wiki might be interesting. Tell where a pony is from, who they know, what they look like... or look up a town and find out what ponies live there, where is 'close' to that town or area, or what notable places are in that area. You could also have info on members there, if someone wanted to look up that member. It would make things even easier to find when someone needs more info on something. Also, if we develop board-specific canon about something, then the information could be put there as well for ease of reference.
  15. Okay. How's that? Also fixed that picture.
  16. Making slow progress on the cutie mark story. Trying to think up a way to summarize for application purposes the points I've come up with and still make it a decent read. My creative side keeps wanting to blow it up into something longer than it needs to be. Edit: How odd. Now that I've posted this... the summary just came flowing out. One moment.
  17. Mystery looked a tad concerned as the glaring pony followed Robikku toward the table. Her unease rose as she saw the other filly seeming to not pay attention to where she was going. Mystery's eyes widened as she tried to get out of the way. The world seemed to be far too slow... until WHAM! The other pony collided with her. She got splattered with food for the second time that night. Pushing herself up and shaking some sense back into her head, Mystery looked herself over. "WHY IS EVERYPONY RUNNING INTO ME TONIGHT??" She puts her hooves to her face, smearing them downward. "...probably gonna have to burn this outfit by the time the night's over... Aaahhhggghhh... three months of scrounging and living on wild grass... three months of lost purses and jealous ponies..." She points at the new filly as she got back up to the table. "... So what's the deal, potato salad? You looked like you were gonna stare him to death."
  18. Idly, Mystery continued to try and clean up her dress. "Ech... definitely going to need a good wash for this later." Glancing around, she blew a raspberry. "Guard wandering over there... think I saw one pass through before... bah. So much for that 'catch a dastardly debonair thief' fantasy. They'd be all over them like crust on bread before I could do anything." Her head rests on the table, then she glances over to the buffet line. "...at least I might've found somepony to chat with for a few moments. ... Glad I'm not the one over there having to elbow my way to the food, though. Seems like there's lots of hungry ponies. ... and some look like they take it seriously..." Rubbing her chin, she wondered if she'd have to go over there or not. For now... she watched.
  19. "Yeah. Any more, and we'd need a crowbar to get everypony out again." She looks over at the buffet. "Err... maybe I should hold the fort here so the table doesn't get claimed or something. ... then again, maybe there's oodles of tables and I'm just being needlessly jealous of the table." She sticks her tongue out. "Ehh. Beats me. Just pick some stuff that looks decent, I guess." She pauses. "Oh yeah. Almost forgot. Name's Mystery Chaser. Nice to meet ya."
  20. Strolling into the buffet area from the general direction of the gardens, Mystery Chaser looked around for a decent place to sit and straighten herself up a bit. Spotting a table, Mystery grabbed a napkin off of the end of the buffet table, then made her way toward said table, glancing at it in between moments of trying to clean more stubborn bits of her previous pass-through of the buffet off of a shoulder. She picks up her pace toward the table, looking around for anypony else en route to it to make sure she doesn't have to find another one.
  21. Scale gave an apologetic smile, scanning over the menu again. "Err... I suppose I'll have some of these grilled peppers. Sounds good enough. Wait. Maybe th-- no. No changing minds, just go with that for now." He nods. "Sorry for the wait." He closes his menu. "Never had much cheesecake, myself," he comments. "Just wasn't around the house as I grew up, I suppose."
  22. Mystery coughed, rubbing the back of her neck with a hoof at the exchange between the two. "Err... right. Pretty much okay. Only injury is to my pride." She looks back in the direction of the buffet. "Maybe I'll sit for a while, though. Calm my nerves. I suppose if you absolutely had to pay back, you could get another plate of snacks or something." She rubs her chin, then turns toward the buffet area. "Hope there's not too much chatter about." She affects a 'bubbly' and 'bright eyed' manner. "'Hi! My name's Sunflower!' 'Hi Sunflower! My name's Lily Bloom! Your dress is so pretty!' 'Thank you, Lily Bloom! Your dress is pretty too! I love your mane!' 'You're welcome, Sunflower! And thanks! I just had it done today just for this!'" She waggles her front hooves in front of her. One for each hypothetical pony's voice. Her expression returns to its previous state, and she blows a slight raspberry at the thought. She shrugs, then stretches. "Up to you, I suppose." She then starts cantering back inside.
  23. I was an odd child. I would eat clovers when I was little. The leaves were okay, and the stem was all tangy and tasty and stuff. I was made to stop. ... At times, I feel like finding a patch and trying them again, but I resist the urge.
  24. Mystery pulled herself up off the ground, slightly annoyed look on her face. She shakes off a piece of lettuce, and a couple of deviled eggs that managed to land exactly over her eyes. She then wistfully looks at her food. "Ugh... Ow." She glances back over at the one that collided with her. "...I was watching where I was going just fine. Why were ya flyin' so low so fast?" She shakes her head. "Nevermind. It doesn't matter, really. At least nopony was hurt all that badly." She straightens her dress a bit, stifling a brief wince. She glances over as the other pegasus flies over and raises a brow. "...ah. I see." She rolls her eyes. "You wacky pegasi and your races," she jibes somewhat good-naturedly. She rubs one of her haunches. "Sorry for the sudden course hazard."
