  1. I think in the FiM universe "spells" are simply a term for magical techniques in general, not just "magic the requires spelling out an incantation to active". Another theory is that because a unicorn's "wand"(their horn) is a natural part of their body they don't need to say their incantations out loud to activate their magic, only think it.
  2. I like to think that while human-kind may be extinct or at least lost their role as dominate species, their influence in shaping equine culture still exists for better or worse. Notice how the Diamond Dogs view the most cultured and regal main pony, Rarity, as nothing more than a beast of burden or the offended reaction from the carriage-pulling ponies after Spike cracks the reigns. Equestria may be a save haven for ponies in a world that seeks to enslave them. Celestia (and Luna in turn) may be mere benevolent rulers to the citizens of Equestria but to the outside world they are the immortal saviors of the pony race, allowing the other creatures to reap the benefits of the sun and moon in exchange for the security of the pony's land. Perhaps there are equine group/species that still exist outside of Equestria and are able to survive the dangerous environment outside, ie. zebras like Zecora being comfortable living in the wild Everfree forest. ... Ehh, I'm rambling and getting off topic. Basically the tools could be the remnants of humans and/or other sentient creatures outside of Equestria that enslaved ponies as we do in the real world. As for a in-canon explain for why they still use them after at least a thousand years without adapting them for equine anatomy, I have no clue.
  3. I am pretty sure she said those exact words in an interview. I feel this image is perfectly relevant:
  4. I don't thinks so, it looks like the animators dun goofed with eye animation. The face moved from the side view to the frontal view but they forgot to do the same for the eyes. But it is so obvious. I saw that error the first time i watched the episode. How could they not catch it, unless they intend for some reason to leave it like that. Animators are still humans and they make mistakes, if that wasn't the case we wouldn't have a 7-page topic of animations errors. Also one Derpy obviously isn't enough for the GGG:

  6. Honestly it was Derpy that got me to give in and watch the show. I remember coming across this infamous fan animation of Derpy "delivering" mail and thinking it was a scene from an actual episode. DJ-FYQv9Uvc I figured if it included such an rediculios character it's definitely a bit more appealing to my interests than the old shows. Sadly, that clip never happened(yet) but I joined the herd anyway.
  7. The possibility of her taking a speaking or even primary role for an episode was not ruled out, though. (I think it's unlikely) I guess we'll mostly see her on the level of her role in "Feeling Pinkie Keen". More mailmare shenanigans, please! While I'm glad we're getting more Derpy I'd still prefer that she remain the random anomaly of a background character that the fans made of her. The moment she gets a definitive voice and personality I feel that a lot of her charm will be lost. I do hope that she is shown as being a postal pegasus(as in delivery pony, not like Psychoshy).
  8. Just want to see more of the second-tier characters like Trixie and Zecora, especially Zecora. Also want to see more of the world outside of Ponyville, or even outside of Equestria. My dream is an episode that shows the homeland of Zecora.
  9. Bronies need to stop panicking and remember that FiM was was more that just the brain child of Lauren Faust, it was a team effort of several different artists, writers, animators, composers, voice actors, singers and more, and nearly all of them will be putting the same effort into season 2. Lauren will still work with the show similar to season 1 just to a smaller degree. We haven't even seen a second of footage from S2 so there's no reason to call "shark" yet.
  10. Oh man, I can't wait for the HD upload of this episode, as well as the inevitable Euro Beat remix of "At the Gala". I damn near fell out of my chair when Fluttershy snapped XD. Also Trollestia officially confirmed, she congratulates them for ruining the gala.
  11. I just realized something about this episode. Gummy is an alligator, Alligators are carnivores, so where does Pinkie get the meat he needs in a society of vegetarians... Also Gummy has no teeth, his food has to be made soft and chewy, warm and moist... just like a cupcake... Did anyone else notice the decline in background ponies appearing in the last few episodes... with none appearing in the last one?
  12. Dear Princess Celestia, I'm sorry for taking so long to reply but I recently realized that I have a huge procrastination issu...
  13. I can already tell that this episode will spawn a whole bunch of "cupcakes" style fanfics.
  14. Confidential cornhole carnival. Hidden hiney humor.
  15. There's a reason for why they're called the "POUND" Puppies.
  16. While the story and moral were very basic and predictable I loved the humor and character development. It was nice to have another Spike focused episode and I'm glad they further explored his relationship with Twilight, showing that they're more of a mutual "bossy sister with young brother" pair. These last two episodes makes me want to draw some "D'aww" fan art of filly Twilight and hatchling Spike. I am disappoint with the climax/ending though. Was there any point in making the dragon a recolor of the one in "Dragonshy"? The scene would have been much more entertaining if they just used the same dragon, imagine if this happened: > The dragon has Spike cornered in the cave > A voice from off screen gets the dragon's attention > The dragon turns around and sees the shadowy silhouette of a pegusus pony at the entrance of the cave > the dragon cowers in fear assuming it's Fluttershy > Spike teases him for being afraid of Fluttershy of all ponies. > After a few seconds the moon light reveals that's just Twilight with Owliosous on her back, wings spread > The dragon, now embarrassed, gives chase.
  17. It's hard for me to give a good answer because the two criteria I use to determine my favorite characters(most entertaining and most relate-able) would give completely opposite results. In the end I picked Pinkie Pie and Twilight. Pinkie, Rarity and Rainbow Dash are easily the most entertaining of the six due their over-the-top personalities. They always manage to over-exaggerate and steal whatever scenes they're in, with Pinkie chewing the scenery more than anypony else on the show. While Twilight, AppleJack, and Fluttershy have their funny moments, it's usually because of their chemistry with the other three and their reactions to the random situations that arise on the show. However the latter three have the most likable, down-to-earth personalities in contrast Pinkie, Rarity and Dash. While I like AppleJack's workaholic attitude and stubbornness and Fluttershy's kindness and social phobia, I can relate with Twilight the most due to her egghead tendencies and role as a socially awkward recluse. As much I like PP, RD, and Rarity onscreen I couldn't bear dealing with their personalities IRL, especially Rarity with her OCD and self-centered vanity.
  18. Struts? More like Sluts. *rimshot* I almost wish it would get a TV show just to compare it to FiM and laugh.
  19. Pinkie Pie actually was directly talking more or less to the audience at the end of the pilot episode second half when the screen was closing around her...and I'm pretty sure Spike was 'partly' addressing the audience with regards to the lack of a 'nickname' for Twilight in Bridle Gossip. As stated above, there's been a LOT of these throughout... Pinkie does a similar "4th wall" break at the end of Swarm of the Century (Plays a trombone tune while staring at the audience) and Over a Barrel (She stops the circle fade out to tell the audience that resolution was her idea in the first place).
  20. Mrs. Cake borrows her husband's on occasion.
  21. I was expecting Fluttershy or Twilight but I'm a INTJ (as usual) so I'm Princess Celestia.
