Balance was frozen in fear at Strife's words. Damn it, I'm not just gonna' sit here and watch you in fear. Stand aside! The fear on his face vanished, as the only thing in his mind suddenly, were the millions of strategies he could use to hurt, and get away from Strife. He settled on a rather simple one. "I do hope you realize, I'm not gonna' stand here and be sacrificed. Good bye!" He gave a weak buck to Strife's face, and took advantage of his fear to rush adrenaline through his system, allowing him to run faster than normal. He ran through the forest, making random turns, and when he thought it was safe, realized how lost he was. He wandered aimlessly, and accidently found his way back to where he was. "... Woops..." He couldn't find where Strife was, and hoped it wasn't a chaotic trick. He hid a bit further from the area than before, but still close enough to hear the sound from the battle.

Pawn was happy when Applezoom pushed the button, and noticed that the platforms began moving, but became worried when he started bouncing about randomly. He once again used his telekinesis to grab him, and shook him violently to get the goo off of him. "Alright, now that the platforms moved, I think we can use this gel to jump from platform-to-platform, and make it to the door. Then the weird shield thing should get the goo off of our hooves."

(Everypony's fighting Discord and Strife, and I'm hiding. And we met a few new ponies, including one that I'm pretty sure is based on Rick Taylor)

"I'll be right back again everypony!" Thyme yelled to them, as she realized the time. She returned to the kitchen, took the food out of the oven, realized she took it out at the perfect time, then tried to remember the rest of it, since she didn't write it down. "Darn it, what was it? I heard her music while I was making this... Then I said something related to it, which made me add some new flavors... Aha! That's it! I said it was a heavy bass! Now I remember!" She talked to herself. She remembered that she related music having a heavy bass to her food having a heavy flavor; in this case, using her spiciest spice she had. She used some of her soup made earlier, added the spice, and put the ingredients into it, making a powerful-smelling curry. She returned to the kitchen, with a plate filled with her new meal, and she walked over to Vinyl. "This is my version of a bass drop! Whenever you want it, I'll leave it at the table over there."

Balance was getting fearful from all the fighting, so he quickly thanked Amber for healing his burn, then snuck away and hid behind a rock. He was hoping to fight, but after seeing what Discord did to Potey, and remembered what he did with the other ponies, he thought it would be best to hide. He collected his thoughts, and thought he would find out more about the gear. Now, here's what I know about the gear; it's made by Discord, and Strife doesn't want us to know where it is, suggesting that it's powerful, possibly powerful enough to defeat Discord. I also learned that it is in some way related to Canterlot. Now, Discord was first defeated by that Song pony, and some other ponies, and he was in the Royal Garden for about 1000 years. Perhaps the Garden deserves some investigation then... He tried not to make a sound as he listened closely to hear for any signs of the conflict dieing down.

Pawn was just as confused as Applezoom by the blue gel. He used his horn to telekinetically grab Applezooms tail, and he pulled him away from the gel. "So, this stuff makes us jump... We should use this to our advantage. Do you think you could jump over to that button?"

As Balance was hit with the lightning on his back hoof, which was burned, so he stayed on the ground in pain for a few seconds. Then he knew he had to suck it up if he wanted to help in any way. He stood up, not putting pressure on his back hoof. Of course the invisible chess set was gone, since they were separated by such a distance. Balance tried coming up with some plan. Failing to find a good one, he saw Potey tackle Discord. He then face-hoofed. "Do you really think THAT could take down the God of Chaos?"

"Umm... I'll... Make sure Strife doesn't do anything stupid." Balance suggested, since he had no way to combat Discord. He turned and looked at Strife. He had another question, though it was more for curiosity's sake than for anything important. "Strife, how DID you release Discord? That must have taken a lot of magic."

"Tell my secretary she may come if she wants, but otherwise should return to the office." Balance paused, and thought for a few seconds. "I don't believe we'll be needing anything else, just our location will be fine. Oh, and maybe warn the doctor about the situation, so he'll be prepared for what's to come." Balance couldn't think of anything else that would be needed. He quickly looked over the Peryton again, happy to see nothing he missed, then looked around for any other signs of what may have happened. He couldn't find anything out in the open, but he knew he'd find something if he did a more thorough investigation, but was still busy holding the peryton's head back. "Oh, and you may want to hurry, just in case there's something we don't see that's affecting her."

"... Combustible lemons? Please say they're not on the next floor..." The elevator came to a sudden stop, and they entered the next room. "Good, nothing appears to be on fire. There must be some malevolent trick to this room, though..." At that moment, the floor opened up again, leaving a huge gap in the floor, leading to more poisonous water, and a few platforms. There were also large buttons layed out throughout the room, and near the door, there was another portal gun. "Okay, let's see what those buttons do then."

Thyme remembered that if Vinyl were to critique her recipe, she would need to actually MAKE the food. "I'll be right back, everypony!" She darted off out the door, passing the bar and quickly uttering a hello to Cloud, Mojo and Watcher. She ran off to the kitchen, and wanted to cook quickly yet still good, so she could be with Vinyl for the rest of the night. She also agreed to calm herself down, in order to not freak out Vinyl. She even turned her music on while cooking. It wasn't a complicated recipe, it just took time to bake. She made the mix quickly, and stuck it in the oven, and rejoined the party. She went back to where Vinyl was surrounded, and decided to wait for her turn to go all fangirl on her.

I-I hate to say it but... I'm out of questions! Well, let's end this for now then, we'll pursue that gear another time. "I believe we're done here then. Anypony else have a question for him?

"Right. BYE CAVE PRANCER!" Pawn walked into the elevator with Applezoom, and it started descending. "How far down does this building go?"

Thyme was still comprehending the situation as she realized Vinyl Scratch was at their party! She came back to reality eventually, when Cloud spoke to her. "Huh? Me? Oh, well, you know... I'LLBERIGHTBACK!" She ran off quickly, leaving the room, and re-entered the room, with a spikier mane, and a smile that she was trying to force down. She walked up to Vinyl, pretending to bump into her. "Oh, my, I'MSORRYPLEASEFORGIVEME! I mean... My name is Thyme Turmeric, and I'MAHUGEFAN! I was just wondering if you could CRITIQUETHISRECIPEIMADE specifically when I started listening to your music." Thyme still couldn't hold back her fangasms, as she still couldn't comprehend the situation she was in.

"I still have one question left. And if I don't believe your answer, we won't let you go 'till I get a good answer." Last question? What is it? I think it's pretty obvious... "Where are the elements bearers right now? Can they still defeat Discord?"

Element BEARERS?! There are others who control the elements now? Those names do sound familiar... it's probably unrelated to the gear, but let's pursue this for a moment... "These element bearers, who are they? What's your affiliation with them?" If it's unrelated, we shouldn't pursue this too much. He may refuse to even answer our small questions, or we could waste enough time to kill off this spell. Right. But if we could find these 'element bearers', then it would be pretty easy to defeat Discord.

"... Elements of Harmony?" Even I know this! And I'm you! So... What are they? If you looked through your memories once in a while, like I keep suggesting, you'll remember the old story mother told us, about Nightmare Moon, and Celestia. Oh yeah, those giant rock-things... So those are real? Apparently. "I'm not the pony to answer that question, so I'll say no. There must have been a reason he didn't take over Canterlot..." Suddenly, one of Balance's two chess pieces, a bishop, moved closer to Strife's piece. Canterlot, eh? Let's keep questioning him, about Canterlot. "Perhaps he was avoiding the princess's. Speaking of the princess's, would they happen to have defeated Discord the last time? If so... Where? The Royal Garden again?"

"You got us a DJ?! Grey, you're the BEST BOSS EVER!" Thyme was so excited, she joined the hug with Easy. "GROUP HUG EVERYPONY!"

The invisible chess board glowed for a split second, then suddenly, a chess piece (a black king), sprouted in the center of the board. FINALLY! It's not TOO far, so it won't be too complicated to destroy it, as long as we're tricky. Now, we have to ask something seemingly unrelated... "Okay, we'll be sure to check that out later. For now, quick question, where was Discord released?"

"Wow! I'm not use to having another pony cook for me! Sure was a nice change." Thyme said to herself, as she was returning to Grey Area Condominiums. It was her favorite job she ever had, and was more than happy during the first anniversary. However, the day only just started, and she wasn't prepared for what awaited her for when she walked into the lobby... "A party?! We're having a party now?! YES!" She skipped around, looking at the decorations, then for a second, was disappointed. "Aw, I should have made something for this... Aw well! I've been making things for this place all year, it's time to party!"

This pony's a lot more honest then I believed. There has to be something important from this... AHA! What? He slipped up! What? His spells are helpful in some way? No, the gear! Why would Discord entrust some random gear to this pony? Because he freed him! Yes, but Discord isn't one to keep his word, if I may give guesses. I think this gear will be more than meets the eye... And if it is, it may help us find where Discord has been! "So... Gear you say? What is it, and where would we find it? I mean, any help in finding and defeating Discord would be appreciated."

We're not learning anything new here! Find something good from this pony! I-I'll try... But this is tough, I almost NEVER do things like this! "So... He gave you some gifts. Would that happen to be some dark magic? If so, how powerful would you say it is?" How is THAT a good question! I have a small plan, depending on his answer...

Drat! No new pieces! He must not know where Discord is! Wait a second! Remember, this is the God of Chaos we're dealing with. He must not BELIEVE he knows where Discord is, because he is too unpredictable! Good point, then let's start with those questions. "You're right, he may not be hiding. So, when was the last time you saw him? And did he tell you anything about where he would be going?"

"Got it!" Balance responded to Song. He watched the whole situation silently, scaring himself when he actually giggled at some of the chaos that was being created. He cleared his throat, and spoke. "Just to be sure you're not lying..." His horn started glowing a dark blue, and after a few seconds, Strife's head had the same aura. He was happy to have successfully casted the spell, though a bit tired from it. Nopony else could see it, at least to Balance's knowledge, but a chessboard came out of thin air, only having 2 pieces on Balances side. That's what the spell was; it created a game of mind chess. When the pony would not say something, a piece would appear on their side. Balance would ask seemingly silly questions, to get closer and closer to his piece, and eventually attack, to find out what they're hiding. He was ready to start, with a big question first. "Where is Discord hiding?"
