1. You idiot! The voice rang through his mind, as Leif woke up, seemingly hurt from Showboat's screaming mixed with her concussion. "Er... Calm down, please!" He said, keeping her down on the ground so she didn't move. "You seem to have a concussion. Y-you don't want to make it worse." Showboat put the ice pack back on her head. I need to take over for a minute again. Showboat's facial expressions switched over again. "Can you tell me your name?" He asked, not really caring for the answer as much as hoping that she could answer it.
2. The rainstorm was the worst storm he was in, definitely beating out Caneighda. He stopped hovering, landing in the mud and almost slipping in the wet streams being made. He thought Flash yelled something, but the rain was much too loud to make it out. Lightning struck a nearby tree, followed quickly by ear splitting thunder. Marble covered his ears from the pain, and backed up into Flashbomb, nearly knocking him over. The only bit of shelter visible in the thick precipitation was a cave. After a few bad experiences that day, Marble wasn't feeling too brave. But then again, he was shivering from cold for the first time since he moved from his old home. Knowing that it was too loud to hear anything, Marble pointed out the cave, and quickly flew to the entrance, going no further, and waiting for Flashbomb.
3. Delilah excitedly pointed out the window, yelling about Canterlot. "Excellent." Showboat muttered. Can I get control again? Fine. Just keep the ice on her and don't do anything stupid. With that, Showboat's face returned to its childlike smile, and his tired expression went confident again. "Woohoo!" He yelled in celebration, excited about getting close to Canterlot.
4. The rain began hitting down harder, until it turned into hail. Now it was bugging Marble. It didn't hurt him, it just annoyed him. He thought he heard Flashbomb mumbling something, but decided to let him say things to himself. Marble saw a patch of slippery looking mud up ahead, and began hovering to avoid it. Flashbomb, on the other hoof, walked through it, and naturally slipped in it. "Why aren't you flying?" He asked Flash, as if it were obvious.
5. Marble joined Flashbomb and the rest in searching down the stream for Lyria. The rain was really bugging Marble. Normally, he would just fly up and hide above the clouds if he couldn't find shelter, but he knew that would mean failing the test. He sucked up the chills he was getting from the cold, harsh storm and pressed on. "Darn it. Knowing our luck, she ran into the rain equivalent of a Windigo." Marble mused to Flashbomb. At least the rain is giving me a free shower.
6. Though Big Mac had no idea, Delilah knew they were five minutes away from Canterlot. "Sorry to disappoint you Harmony and Delilah, but it seems we won't be meeting with Octavia today." He told them, as he slipped the ice pack back on Leif's head.
7. The pegasus from the ursa attack earlier seemed to appear out of nowhere. He just HAD to remind Marble that he isn't a smart pony. He sighed, and didn't say anything. He still was in no mood to speak to strange ponies. "She's probably at the river, or scavenging for food or something." He suggested to Flashbomb.
8. Showboat waited a while for Leif to begin stirring, but she continued breathing. "For good news, her heart rate and breathing rate appear stable. On the bad news, I can't do anything else. How close are we to Canterlot?" He started off talking to himself, then asked anypony listening to his muttering.
9. It began raining. Marble rolled his eyes again at his absolutely wonderful day in the wild. Flashbomb offered to take them back to his camp. This time, Marble had no objections. He looked around waiting for everypony else, then realized Lyria wasn't there. He sighed and rolled his eyes again. "Should we split up to find her?" He asked, his voice deepening from his shyness, with the new pony around.
10. Showboat kept the ice pack on Leif's head. Delilah mentioned how hard her hit was for a small bump. Showboat began thinking on that, then remembered that Leif was a pegasus. "It seems the light bones that pegasi, possibly mixed with accidental use of the wings likely made her fly far and hit the window hard." Showboat told Delilah, as he focused on attempting to keep Leif still. "Big Macintosh, can you help me keep her still? The inertia seems to move her around with the train constantly."
11. Leif said something about breaking the window, before seemingly going unconsious. "Leif? Leif?! LEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIFFF!!!" Showboat yelled for dramatic effect. He cleared his throat and laughed afterwards. "Anyways..." Time to switch. Showboat's happy expression suddenly changed to a much more pessimistic and tired face. He went over to Leif. "Diagnosis; concussion. First aid treatment; cooling of the head." His voice became as serious as his expression, as his horn glowed a bright yellow, and an ice pack appeared in thin air, landing on Leif's head. "Wait until consiousness to ask questions for further diagnosis. Then, take her to Canterlot Hospital."
12. Big Macintosh began explaining his work. Showboat listened closely, not too surprised that a pony like him could do multiple jobs like that. This guy talks a bit too much to be like Marble. He noted while listening. "That sounds like a lot of work." He said to Big Mac, not thinking of anything else to say. "I don't do much. I recently got my first job as a lawyer, and have begun working. Mostly thinking work, gets pretty redundant pretty quickly. But that moment in court when I get to present everything and save my client..." Showboat raised a hoof dramatically as if he couldn't describe the feeling with words. "Other than that though, I take care of my little kitty Sweetheart at home, and sometimes I'll just volunteer for odd things just so I have something else to do in my free time. Any other time, you can usually find me reading." After his ramble about his life, he gave a giggle. "Anyways, now you know my personal life, what's your free time usually like?" The train hit a sudden bump. He was knocked forward, hitting Big Mac in the chest with his face, then quickly backtracked to his sitting spot. "S-sorry." He quickly told Big Mac, hoping he didn't hurt him. He then noticed Leif was sent flying and hit a window! He called over to her. "Are you okay? Any serious brain damage I should know of?" (Woops, extra stuff added)
13. To Showboat's surprise, Big Mac still wanted to talk with him. He giggled awkwardly again as he tried thinking of something to say. It became even more awkward as Big Mac started stretching again. "Er... Um..." He muttered while thinking of something to say while trying to ignore his thoughts on Big Mac. "T-tell me about yourself." He finally settled on. He decided he could start him off, as he didn't seem like the type to talk a lot. He looked over at his cutie mark; a large green apple, seemingly cut in half. "Do you work at Sweet Apple Acres?" He noted Big Mac's muscular form again, though for a better reason. "Perhaps an apple bucker?" Looking into Big Macintosh's eyes, Showboat felt a strange sense of familiarity. We haven't met him before, right? No. Then why does he seem so familiar? He reminds you of Marble. Showboat then realized that big Mac had many similarities with his older brother, and it made him feel guilty for having dirty thoughts of Big Mac.
14. Big Mac told him that they met at Sweet Apple (massacre) Acre's. What's that again? An apple orchard belonging to the Apple family, famous for its annual cider. Thanks. Now the situation became awkward. Big Mac began stretching for seemingly no reason other than for the sake of stretching. He found himself staring at Big Mac again with different thoughts than most ponies looking at him thought. He shook his head, and giggled awkwardly after Big Mac finished. "I suppose I'll let you guys catch up then." Showboat told him, as he stood back to sit again.
15. The large stallion introduced himself as Big Macintosh. There was a small silence, save for a giggle from Big Mac. Stop thinking about that and continue the conversation already. Showboat cleared his voice, and began speaking again. "Nice to meet you Big Mac. How do you know Harmony?" He asked cluelessly. "Did you meet while she was singing at the fountain like I did?"
16. Out of nowhere, Harmony jumped onto somepony, covering his eyes and giving a 'guess who'. Showboat began laughing wildly at the funny situation. He expected the stallion to get mad, but apparently they knew each other. He had a deep voice, and as Harmony got off of him, he got a better look at him. He was tall, muscular, had an apple red coat, a straw yellow mane, and very soft, yet stoic green eyes. Showboat stared at him for a while without realizing it, then shook it off. The stallion asked who he, and the others were. Showboat took a dramatic step forward with a twirl as he gave his introduction. "Hello! I am Showboat Forte, attorney at law. Remember me, for someday I shall be famous." Showboat returned to standing normally as he offered the colt a hoofshake. "And who might you be?" He asked the handsome kick out with hind-legs, hoping he didn't realize the slightly flirtatious tone in his voice.
17. Somepony else, a dark coloured colt with yellow eyes, walked in on their camp. He seemed worried. It's only natural. There was just an ursa attack. He thought to himself. He was happy that Flashbomb was dealing with the explanations and introductions. On a normal day, he wouldn't be in the mood to meet somepony new. And he wasn't exactly having a good day. He sighed, and stared into the fire, hoping the new pony, who introduced himself as Shadow Sound, wouldn't notice it.
18. Flashbomb started hugging back. They both cried together for a few minutes. It felt good for him to finally cry the way he wanted to for so many years. He apologized for so many things, many of which didn't even involve Flashbomb or their friends. He just wanted forgiveness for about everything he ever regretted. Eventually, he felt cried out. He let go of Flash, and sat, though still letting tears fall down his face. "Th-thanks Flash... You're a good friend, no matter what I say..."
19. Marble was startled when Flashbomb pushed Marble up against a tree. He tried to escape, but found that his sadness was making him weaker, and Flash had a strong grip. It was then Flash's turn to give Marble a motivational speech. Marble listened as intensely as he could. It was odd, being on the receiving end of the speech-you-must-listen-to-because-I'm-stronger. Afterwards, Flash let him down, and trotted to Angel. During the whole speech, Marble was holding back his tears. He never thought anypony would know that he was sad, or much more, why he was sad. He trotted over to Flash and Angel. "You know, I've given that speech to so many ponies." He began. "My brother, some of my old friends, coworkers, Lyria, Lightning Dust, even my own mother." He couldn't hold back a quick sob as a tear went down his face. "I've never realized how much I needed that speech myself." He no longer held back his tears, as he pulled Flashbomb into a hug, repeating 'I'm sorry's for about everything he did.
20. Slicked pulled Knight out of the bus before anything had happened. Knight hardly even noticed that they arrived at Red Rock. Slick pulled him aside, and began checking on Knight. "I-I'm fine... I don't think I'll flip out..." He answered Slick. He then started asking Knight why he didn't trust fillies again. Knight became annoyed again. "I don't know! I just... Every time I look at one, I just feel... Like I should avoid them! And that they can hurt me somehow!" He honestly didn't know. Any other pony would find out by then that it was probably something related to his mother. But Knight isn't a smart pony. "Maybe it's just something about me with no explanation!" He finally stated. "Yeah, it's just some... What's the word? Idio-... Idiosyn- something. It's one of those!"
21. Angel began giving Marble a speech about how he thought he'd never passed. Marble scoffed at how Angel thought he could calm him down. "I'm just a stupid snow sculpture. I shouldn't even be here. The only reason I entered was because my brother bugged me about it." He told Angel in defense. "Sir." He added with contempt. He looked over and saw Flash preening himself. "I might as well just fly up and forfeit. I've practically failed already." He muttered to himself, hoping nopony heard him.
22. Flashbomb didn't seem to sense the anger in Marble's voice. He still tried to control himself. Flash asked how the test was going. "Oh, just WONDERFUL. I lost a good friend, and nearly died several times, and my other friends were nearly killed by an ursa major." He rolled his eyes sarcastically. "Overall, I'm really happy I entered this stupid academy."
23. After trotting for a little while down the river, they eventually found Flashbomb washing himself in it. He made a joke about the ursa, which Marble didn't find funny. "Hello, Flashbomb." He said with slight amounts of anger in his voice. He was still angry with Flash over their fight, but was at a much more controllable level.
24. Lyria trotted off. Apparently she heard a sound. Angel was worried and followed, and waved for Marble to tag along as well. He sighed, and walked along. It's probably just a fish or something.
25. Lyria still seemed completely unfazed by her achievement. She even called him light! Angel and her hugged, and worried about each other, which he found cute, and he gave an audible 'daaaaaaaaaaaw', followed by childish giggling. "Sorry, you two are just cute together." He told them. He decided to lay off Lyria lifting Marble. She probably wouldn't realize how strong she actually was no matter how much he described everyponies attempts at picking him up.
