  1. Vivid's sudden entrance took Sparks off guard, to say the least. Not only did her entrance startle him, but it caused him to actually jump a little, the delicate piece he was working on shattering into two. "Prokljatie!" he exclaimed, obviously a rather angry statement in his native tongue, before turning around to face Vivid, his face displaying a mixture of surprise, embarrassment, and even a hint of fear. "M-miss Flair!" he began, nervously, "It's, ah, not what it looks like! I'm working on a... a..." He turned to face his own contraption, obviously trying to think of a 'clever' lie. "An engine!" he said desperately, a painfully obvious lie, and Sparks knew it, judging my Flair's obviously dubious reaction. "For a um... poezd! Er- sorry, train! For a train!" Obviously flustered, Sparks positioned himself between Vivid and his 'engine', hoping Vivid would accept his ruse (if it could even be called that). Hastily trying to change the subject, he smiled and laughed nervously, "S-so, miss Flair, what brings you out to the lab at this very late hour?"
  2. Sparks pulled his goggles down onto his face, concealing his eyes behind their inky blackness, before leaning forward, his horn beginning to spark as he used his magic to weld two small, delicate pieces of equipment together, sparks showering all around the equipment, his delicate eyes protected from the bright light of the welding by his goggles. He continued for several minutes, sparks flying out of his horn towards the object, the welding operation continuing smoothly, before he pulled away, gasping for breath, quickly pulling his goggles off. Sparks never had a knack for magic in anything other than engineering, and even then it was often extremely strenuous to him. His foalhood friends had often joked that he was an Earth Pony with a horn glued on. Pushing those thoughts out of his mind, he picked up the delicate piece using his magic and headed over to his larger workstation, where a fairly large device of indeterminate function lay. Officially, he was working on one of NSI's many projects related to the Trans-Equestrian Railroad. Unofficially... well, he was having a bit of "fun". Using his magic, he attached the piece to the larger device, a smug grin on his face. His new boss, Vivid Flair, had specifically instructed Sparks to not use the lab for any purposes beyond the railroad. Sparks had tried to obey that rule- he really had. Unfortunately, Sparks had a bit of a problem. Sparks absolutely loved creating things. And when an idea got into his little head, he simply could not banish it until he had tried it. And, unfortunately for him and NSI, most of these projects simply could not be completed without a professional workshop - and Sparks did not have a professional workshop in his apartment. It was simply impossible to work in his current living conditions! And yet, Vivid Flair had given Sparks access to the NSI workshops, filled with the latest and greatest technologies, and had simply asked him to please not touch anything without permission? It simply would not do! Sparks HAD to create - he would not rest until he did! Besides, what Vivid Flair didn't know wouldn't hurt her, Sparks reassured himself with a small smile, before heading back over to the welding station, pulling his goggles back on and immediately getting to work on yet another delicate part, determined to get this device created as soon as possible.
  3. This is a good application, though I do have a few questions I'd like to ask, in order to help you expand on the character a bit. He has a rather short backstory- this is understandable due to his young age. However, you make little reference to his personality. Perhaps you could dedicate an additional paragraph in the character summary detailing a bit more about his personality? You touched on it, but it is generally a good idea to ask yourself what your character would be like to interact with. How does he behave around others? It isn't enough to simply list traits - it's usually a good idea to go into a bit more detail on the personality of the character. Still, great work!

  5. Thanks so much for the compliments! I put a lot of work into this one, and it's great to get some recognition. Thanks so much!
  6. Roleplay Type: World of Equestria RP Name: Sniffles Sex: Male Age: Baby Species: Sky Dragon Eye colour: Light Blue Hide/Scale colour: Green scales with a dull yellow underbelly. Mane/Tail/Markings colour & Style: Blue scales run down from Sniffles’ back and tail, with scales of a lighter blue shade on his cheeks. Physique: Like most dragons of his age, Sniffles is of a rather diminutive stature. His frame is rather thin and weak looking, though he is agile – much more agile than most dragons, and has been able to slip or sneak his way out of many tough situations. Tiny, immature, and entirely useless wings sprout out of his back, signifying him as a young sky dragon. Cutie Mark: N/A Origin/Residence: Sniffles hatched from one of many, many eggs in the badlands. Sniffles now roams the Equestrian frontier and the badlands, seeking treasure, adventure, and general merriment. Occupation: Treasure hunter and junior adventurer. Motivation: The hunt for treasure and, perhaps even more powerfully, sheer curiosity. Likes: Meeting new ponies and creatures, the wilderness, treasure, new discoveries. Dislikes: Cities, crowded environments, the underground, dragons bigger than him. Character Summary: Sniffles was born to a clutch of about a dozen other sky dragons, under the care of his massive and extremely overprotective mother. His name was actually a nickname assigned to him by his brothers and sisters – when he first attempted to blow fire, it had manifested itself as a tiny sniffle out of his nose – and essentially remained that way ever since – earning the mocking name of “Sniffles”. However, though he lacked in the ability to breathe fire and the strength characteristic of dragons, Sniffles always had one advantage on his side – his size. Smaller than even the other hatchlings, and of a more lenient frame, Sniffles was able to sneak around and fit into tiny places where no other dragon could fit, enabling him to find treasure that no other dragon could find and allowing him to spy on his brothers and sisters – often for the nefarious purposes of a prank. However, despite all of the pranks and sneaking and spying (all of which he enjoyed immensely), Sniffles quickly grew unsatisfied with his boring life within the massive caveof his mother. It wasn’t enough to explore the recesses of the cave and search for his mother’s hidden treasure troves, nor was it enough to simply mess around with his brothers and sisters. Sniffles had an innate wonderlust that could only be satisfied with, well, exploration. So, one night, when the rest of his clutch was asleep, Sniffles packed a meager bag of provisions consisting of a few gems and his favorite hat, before leaving the cave for the first time, blinking in the intense sunlight, heading out into the wild green yonder to find new sites and sounds, occasionally missing his clutch but never regretting once regretting his decision to take on the life of a traveler.
  7. Sparks glanced at Champagne in response and smiled slightly and responded in a moderate yet acutely apparent Stalliongrad accent. "Um, da. Yes. I'd like some chaj - that is, tea. If that's alright of course." he reached into his pouch and set down some bits onto the table. "Is this enough?" he asked with a smile. He then began to gradually and incospicuously scoot his stool towards the other ponies at the bar, attempting to listen in on their conversations and hopefully integrate himself into a conversation. He had been vastly unsuccessful in his attempts to socialize at all with any of the denizens of Canterlot. Despite the fact that both Stalliongrad was technically under Equestrian authority, Canterlot and the rest of the southern lands felt like an entirely different country to him, with a vastly different culture and customs. It had been difficult enough for Sparks to integrate within the Manehattan culture - communicating with the upper class and aristocracy of Canterlot had proven nearly impossible.
  8. Sparks nervously approached the bar and sat down at the far end of the counter, away from the rest of the ponies who had entered the bar. Although Sparks wanted a bit of excitement and somewhere to go besides the typical Canterlot upper class boredom, he wasn't much of a pony to really get to know strangers and tended to keep to himself. He listened intently to the bartender's conversations with the other ponies, but did not say a word himself. He took his hat off and stuffed it into his saddlebag, which he kept on around his waist. Truth to be told, part of the reason he was not speaking was because many of the Canterlot dwellers found his Stalliongrad accent to be amusing, or, as they put it, "charming", which had essentially annoyed him to the point of silence during his stay at Canterlot.

  10. Roleplay Type: World of Equestria RP Name: Constant Shift Sex: Female Age: Foal, nearly a filly. Species: Pegasus Eye colour: Blue Coat colour: Light Purple Mane/Tail/Markings colour & Style: Her mane and tale are both colored a darker purple than her coat, with a few lighter purple strips running through her hair. Her mane is somewhat short for a filly, but still longer than a colt’s mane. Her tail is a moderate length. Physique: Constant Shift is, for the most part, a rather ordinary filly as far as her physique and figure goes. However, she is very slightly chubby, a fact that she and others are acutely aware of. She also wears glasses, though she absolutely despises them, removing them whenever the opportunity presents itself. Cutie Mark: None. Origin/Residence: Manehattan Occupation: Student at Manehattan Academy for Foals, Colts, and Fillies. Motivation: Constant’s motivation is to prove that she is the best, with a strong desire to be great and almost everything (obviously an impossible feat), and to be all around awesome and universally praised. Likes: Science, mathematics, art, music, overcast weather, cold weather, the rain, interesting and intelligent ponies, the night. Dislikes: Stupidity, boredom, ponies smarter than her, warm weather, good manners. Character Summary: Born into a rich family in Manehattan, Constant Shift grew up in a somewhat pampered lifestyle. Her parents were the owners of the rather large research company known as “Perpetual Motion Institute of Research”. Her father was the renowned Equestrian scientist known for his work in physics, Perpetual Motion, and Constant Shift held him up to be her greatest role model, learning from him and striving to be as smart as her genius father. Her parents sent her away to the Manehattan Academy for Foals, Colts, and Fillies, with the goal to teach her mathematics and sciences as well as etiquette and the proper manners of the upper-class. The math and science came naturally to her, absorbing it as a sponge would absorb water, but she actively resisted the etiquette training the school attempted to force on her. Brainwashing, she insisted on calling it, and would often purposely misbehave just to annoy her teachers and peers, acting in a manner that many considered “un-ladylike”. Despite her rudeness and behavior, she has a bit of a natural charisma that draws other ponies to her, and has a rather large entourage of dedicated “friends” at school, willing to go along with just about any of her bizarre and often insane antics. Despite her massive enthusiasm for science and mathematics (and to a lesser extent, the arts), she remains one of the few in her class to not possess a cutie mark, which is both worrying to herself and to her parents as she rapidly approaches fillyhood. She has begun to push herself entirely towards the discovery of her mark, desperately reading more scientific books, conducting more and more complex and bizarre experiments, all of which are somewhat successful, but never have they quite had the spark necessary to create a cutie mark. Although her teachers are sometimes annoyed by her due to her tendency to correct her teachers during class, often humiliating them in the process, most of her peers consider her to be a friend. She constantly humiliates her teachers in class with her greater knowledge she had acquired from years of prior teaching by her father, which both impresses and amuses her friends. She has a natural ability to make ponies genuinely like her, and as such, never really had a hard time making friends. Despite her arrogance and often impolite behavior, she is still what most would consider kind and even generous, often being berated by her parents for spending so much money on her friends.
  11. Sparks couldn't help but sigh in exasperation. He had been in Canterlot already for two days already, and his vacation was still extraordinarily boring! Besides the Castle, Canterlot was actually a fairly boring and ridiculously uptight city, and Sparks regretted his decision to come here instead of Hoofenheim for his one week leave of absence from his duties at Northern Storm Industries. Go to Canterlot, they said, thought Sparks in annoyance, It'll be great they said. There was almost nothing to do for recreation or fun besides the usual uptight activities of the upper class society of Canterlot. It reminded him heavily of the Ostrov district of his home - and he hated the Ostrov district. After about an hour of wandering aimlessly through the neat (yet confusing) Canterlot streets, he finally came across a building that seemed moderately interesting - a building that appeared to be a bar of some sort called "The Firey Vine". Finally something remotely interesting! Adjusting his hat and checking to make sure his saddlebags were still firmly attached to him, he pushed the doors to the bar open and entered.
  12. Haha! Great joke Chippy! Anyway, a shame about your internet and all, but eh, it happens to us all at SOME point or another, right? Regardless, I'm happy that you enjoy my joke, and I simply cannot wait for this Role-Play to begin!
  13. Yeah, but that's South Park. They can continue to have topics because most of their episodes relate strongly to current events, thus meaning that in theory they can never run out of content. My Little Pony, however, can only do so much, and many animated series did everything in their movie, thus causing their show to die off, or deteriorate into a boring state of repetition (SpongeBob SquarePants for example, or even the new Fairly Odd Parents). There are exceptions; for example, Futurama was originally supposed to end with the creation of the three movies, but it was later picked back up by Comedy Central and made even better than before.
  14. This could be good or bad. Good because it's an FiM movie. Bad because, generally speaking, a movie signals either the immediate death or the beginning of the long and agonizing death of a series, I'm afraid to say.

  17. Character: Gears "Sparks" Clockwise Reaction to Letter: The day had started innocently enough. After a usual day of his job as an intern for Northern Storm Industries, Sparks walked through the streets of Manehatten back to his cheap apartment he had been renting for the duration of his stay down in Manehatten. He opened his mailbox, and frowned in surprise, surprised to find a letter in his usually empty mailbox. He headed into his apartment and immediately opened the letter, giving it a quick read, before smiling faintly and promptly throwing it away. It was just junk, after all. Or so he thought, until he came home and found an exact duplicate of the letter waiting for him, along with some rather creepy photographs of himself. Frowning in confusion (and a rather fair amount of discomfort), he threw the letter away again, only to find the letter waiting for him once again the next morning. This disturbing trend continued for at least three weeks, after a particularly brutal day at work involving a steam engine, fire, and possibly explosions. Suffice to say, the laboratory would be closed for a few weeks at least. He picked up the letter from his mailbox almost by habit, and opened it, giving it a read for the first time in weeks. With a sigh, he set the letter down on his counter and muttered to himself, "Well, I suppose I have nothing better to do...", resigning to his curiosity to at least see what this whole "game" was really about. He grabbed his saddlebag off of his shelf and loaded it up with his usual travel gear: his tools, a few warm clothes and blankets, some food, bits, and, most importantly, his nice, warm, fuzzy hat, before heading out of the door, a somewhat frustrated frown on his face. Joke: Q: Why do Soviet policemen always travel in trios? A: It's a specialization: One knows how to read, the other knows how to write, and the third needs to keep an eye on these dangerous intellectuals!
  18. I probably do, laying around somewhere. The user below me... 20/10 would cuddle.
  19. I play Gears "Sparks" Clockwise, an engineer pony, and Picture Perfect, a cast character.
  20. Heh. Can't wait to RP with you, grey.
