1. Recently I've discovered the amazingness of the webcomic XKCD. Somewhat NSFW every now and then, but a truly funny comic

2. In regards to Page denying the flee option (rightly so, as Fantasy remarked upon noticing the shapes) She responded back fairly quickly. "Oh. In that case should we start to panic?" She spoke with an almost comedic calm despite beginning to actually worry, before the unicorn carried on talking. She didn't quite hear what he said, given that the screaming whispers were kind of loud, and kind of everywhere, but she got the gist of what Page had said. Especially when he blew up the statue. "Mayhaps I spoke a bit too soon." She covered her ears as the shrieks grew near unbearable, but they subsided as the... whatever the shapes were fled. She glanced around as she began to calm down, and realized at least one of the purposes of the statue. Without a centerpiece to tie the room together, it just seemed fairly empty. Of course, assuming the shades had something to do with the construction of the area, she doubted they had space management in mind. Regardless, she was pleased by the new found silence, which she celebrated by breaking it. "So. That happened. A potential invasion stopped and a creepy statue melted. Nice work, might I add. An excellent day, if I do say so myself." She would have looked around, but even without the dark shapes, it was still pretty dark, so straying beyond Page's light spell was pretty much a bad idea, so she figured that she'd just follow him. Fantasy did stop and pick up a chunk of some of the less melty brass, and tucked it into her cloak. What could she say? She liked collecting things.
3. Fantasy herself felt somewhat saddened as Darkness spoke. Somehow, he had struck a chord she had even gotten to consider at of the moment. She lowered her head as the pegasus looked at her, not wanting to make eye contact. With her bravado coming and going as it was, she felt a little nervous simply saying anything. She had no idea what to do now. Of course, did she ever know really what she was doing? Probably not. Maybe she thought things would just work out with little conflict. She recalled saying earlier how she occasionally thought her cutie mark represented her more naive nature. Not looking up, she spoke. "I..." Fantasy choked up. She realized that nothing she could say would fix this. She just wasn't that good with words. In a somewhat panicky state, she glanced to her side and saw the corridor. In an action that didn't involve the thought process so much, she finished her sentence before bolting down the hallway back to the gear room. "I'm sorry!"
4. Some people think inside the box. Some people like thinking out of the box. Me? I strive to think inside the triangle about a block down the road.

5. Enos was just musing about a smaller looking group in the crowd when he heard a somewhat familiar (and loud) voice behind him, followed by a sigh. He closed his eyes for half a moment, trying to remember just where he had heard that voice. "Let's see, very musical sounding. Probably a performer. Pop, maybe? Who have I heard... Ah ha!" He turned around, only to have his guess confirmed. He didn't listen to pop music often, or as often as he would have liked, but there were some voices that were hard to miss. "You must be Miss Shores! I must say, I'm a fan of your work. Well, the work I've heard, anyways." He spoke with a certain excitement. It wasn't everyday you bumped into a famous vocalist. He was distracted momentarily, as he looked at the merchant whom Enos presumed had let out the sigh. Enos pondered for a minute, before coming to the conclusion that he had bought a hat here before. Probably two. He took a minute to reflect on what Shores had actually said, rather than just the tone of voice. He then realized that Shores had complimented his hat. Perhaps a bit too late to respond to that, but that was in it of itself enough to make his day. If it hadn't already been made from meeting a famous vocalist. Or maybe it was made from the trip to the market. Maybe all three? Whatever, live in the moment. "As for the hat, well, I did pick it up here. I think. Unless they changed stock, you're probably in luck." He glanced towards the various hats that were on display. Certainly they all looked similar. There was a certain style as to how Canterlot hats looked. It had taken him a few days to learn some of the differences between different kinds of hats that were sometimes almost minute in detail. Wait. No. No getting off track. At least, not in front of the famous vocalist.
6. Taking a deep breath, Fantasy felt rather guilty. She hadn't meant in the slightest to respond as strongly as she had, so she had placed the blame for any negative emotion squarely on her own lack of social experience. She tried straightening up, and even took a few steps out of the corner (Especially once she had realized she was there in the first place; good or bad, old habits die hard). She kinda sorta looked up at Darkness, in a kinda sorta upright stance, somewhere in between timid mare and intrepid-yet-well-mannered-adventurer and spoke. "I should think I'm not terribly upset. I very well might be if you took a leave of absence, though. Aside from the last few moments, I thought we were getting along smashingly. And even then, those last few moments were mainly my fault." Fantasy managed to give a small smile, again somewhere between nervous and confident-yet-humbly-so, then took a deep breath. So that was it. If that didn't make clear her opinion on the matter, well, she was never good at being blunt, or straightforwardly honest. In fact, maybe that was one of the reasons she liked this stallion, now that she thought about it. He certainly was more trusting about his past than Fantasy herself would have been in those shoes. Regardless, she awaited a reply, with stance that pretty much mimicked the style of her previous actions.
7. Silver looked around in slight fear. She was already lost, as she had drifted off both physically and mentally, and had lost sense of direction as she wandered around absent-mindedly. She didn't find any mirrors that inspired quite the fear she had expected from Nightmare Night, and as such would have to lie if she said she wasn't disappointed. Then, of course, she heard various screams throughout the house. This unnerved her quite a bit, and Silver began nervously walking around, only to enter a more spacious area of the maze. Silver glanced around, realizing in a panic that more than half the mirrors showed a much more twisted version of herself, with hideous insectoid features and holes in her legs. Then she bumped into one of the insects, and realized that it was a changeling. "EEEP!" She let out a yelp as she turned and ran, only to run smack dab into another one. For a few brief moments of terror, no matter which way she turned, there was a changeling in every direction. Silver let out another yell. "They're- they're everywhere... EVERYWHERE!!!" Somehow her scream attracted the peak of horror itself as she whirled around to come face-to-face-in-several-mirrors with the Queen of the Changelings herself. It took all of two seconds for her to start bolting, as she heard laughter behind her. She didn't stop for anything, or anymirror. She just hightailed it out of the house of mirrors. Only when she was outside did she stop. Inbetween deep breaths and pants, she started chuckling. A chuckle grew into laughter as she walked off, and she spoke aloud, thinking nopony would really notice (or care; either/or). "And that's how you kick off a Nightmare Night! Let the games begin!" (-1 candy)
8. "Oh. Oh, dear." That's pretty much all Fantasy had to say, as Page noticed what the statue was. She quickly saw it herself, and indeed that certainly made the situation even more eerie. She glanced beyond the statue and noticed the shapes. She looked around, and besides the approaching shapes and the statue, there was nothing nearby. Not to mention, the whispers were almost too loud to be called whispers anymore as they started drowning the silence the darkness had imposed. "Well. This is happening, isn't it?" Quickly, she mustered up as much thought as she could and came up with two solutions, both of which she shared with the unicorn. "So, before those things get close enough to cause panic, do you think we should run, or stay and find out how exactly this is happening? You know, at this point, I'm privy to either." She privately thanked somewhat similar experiences she's had while exploring old ruins, otherwise she doubted she could remain as calm as she was. She took one last glance at the changeling statue, and wondered if that had anything to do with this... whatever it was. It was the most out of place (inanimate) thing there at the time, which certainly made it noteworthy.
9. Fantasy stared at Darkness, almost unsure of how to take that one. "O-oh." Was about all she could manage to get out. What on earth was the pegasus talking about? She certainly hoped that it wasn't what she thought it was, but that didn't seem altogether likely. She shuffled her hooves a little as she glanced down, trying to avoid eye contact. Feeling rather awkward, she took a few steps backwards and attempted to, instinctively, blend into the corner again. Given that there was only one other pony in the room, that probably didn't get the same result it would have in a different situation. Every second, something just seemed to happen that was worse off then the past moment. How was it that plain old adventuring turned out to be more friendly than an actual conversation? She tried stammering out another sentence, with much less success. "Erm... what, no, wait. I don't... may-maybe you, nononono. Oh Celestia."
10. You know, I wonder if reality can undergo the fictional conundrum of the plot hole. It would be interesting if, for one brief moment, logic threw itself out the window.

NSFW, but here: http://www.cracked.com/article_18459_the-5-creepiest-unsolved-crimes-nobody-can-explain.html . There are plenty of unexplainable mysteries in the world. Look up '6 People Who Just Disappeared' on that site. The link for that would be NSFW, so I can't give it to you directly. ;)

TheInvisiblePony

Well. That site certainly knows how to make death and creepy mysteries humorous. As for my preferred story of the beginning, I'm still working out all of the kinks, but I'm in the midst of this universal yin-yang type of belief that ties in with everything. It's rather unfinished, and I'm not even sure if its right, but its the closest thing I've got to working out some semblance of rationality with life. Or at least, life as I perceive it. That is to say, I don't have...

4. TheInvisiblePony

TheInvisiblePony

Dang it. ran out of room.

11. Fantasy responded by giving a funny look towards the pegasus. Her getting married? That was a rather drastic fear to jump to, not to mention it was a rather odd fear in the first place. She tried to maintain a silence, but a small chuckle escaped her throat, which she immediately stifled. Well, she tried to stifle it, and although it was a small chuckle, it was most certainly there especially with the lack of many other sounds in the ruinous library. She immediately felt a twinge of guilt. "I'm sorry, its just that, that's a kind of a strange thought. Indimanea Jones? You think much too highly of me." Off kilter thoughts aside, Darkness did give a very valid point that Fantasy herself was trying to ignore. She guessed that since the elephant in the room was being addressed, she should give the thought that they might not meet for a while some thought. She tried to maintain a positive tone of voice, that certainly helped more than people gave it credit for. "As for my travels, I'm sure I could think of someway to stay in contact." In a much lower, more private tone, she added "I just don't know how yet..."
12. Silver Lining was thoroughly enjoying herself. Sure, it was somewhat odd being forced to stay on the ground, given that her costume was a tad restrictive of the wings, and the mirrors that were everywhere made everything look just a little off, but she had felt particularly clever this Nightmare Night. Her costume, she had decided, was to be her cutie mark. That is too say, she spent all of yesterday gathering just the right clouds, which she then covered herself fully in too make herself look like a pony made of clouds. Sure it was a touch difficult to maintain, but it was just perfect for getting the jump on ponies, not to mention it looked positively stunning in all of the different mirrors. Speaking of which, she was just as excited to be in Celestia's hall of mirrors in the first place. She rarely went to Ponyville, but she had heard a few pegasi talking about how excited they were for Nightmare Night to roll around so they could come here, and Silver couldn't resist. She was glad she didn't. The other ponies were quite clever with their ideas, and earlier she herself had almost bumped into, well, a waffle of all things which the mirrors had cleverly disguised. Walking past one of the mirrors, she glanced as she saw a storm cloud version of herself in the mirror before walking by. "Wait, what?" She took a few steps back to the same mirror. She saw an exact reflection of herself, and about 3 other different reflections of herself from different angles, but no storm clouds. "I'm loving this place already..."
13. Fantasy gave a surprised start as Darkness got up and hugged her. Well that certainly left a happier note in the room, she reasoned. The surprise was short lived, but that just left the realization that she had no idea what to do. She tried to give her own small little hug back, but it was much more short lived. When Darkness let go of the hug, and after he had spoken, Fantasy blushed slightly. She privately thanked Celestia that he had hung his head, because she unsure of whether her not the blushing would receive a good reception or not. Regardless, she spoke up. "Think nothing of it. After all, you trusted me enough to share your story. I should thank you for that much trust in the first place." She shuffled her hoof, wondering when was the last time she was so afraid of misspeaking, or more adequately, why she was afraid of misspeaking in the first place. She guessed she just didn't want Darkness to feel as bad.
14. ((No problems, I understand)) Fantasy noticed the resultin series of events in order of her senses, in a fashion oddly systematic First, she heard the whispers grow louder and louder after she nodded towards Page. She saw the... thing, for lack of a better term, and tried to make it out but couldn't quite, at least not at the distance she was from it. She felt a chill in the air for a brief moment. It lasted a mere second, but it was pronounced enough for her to notice it. Or maybe she was going crazy. Regardless, she then went back to sight, and noticed the object in question was vaguely bronze in colour. "Is that... a statue?" Indeed, from what Fantasy could see, the thing certainly seemed to trace the outline of a pony. Given the bronze coloring, she didn't really see any other option. The only question was what was it doing. She glanced over at Page. "You think the whispers are coming from the statue, or something else?" An honest question, given the volume of whispers made it next to impossible to discern their location.
15. "Oh dear, what should I say?" Fantasy felt a twinge of guilt as she listened to Darkness. She probably could have thought of a more tactful question, but now this had happened. She sighed mentally, wondering why this was so hard. No matter, she couldn't seem to bear seeing him saddened, so Fantasy took it upon herself to cheer the pegasus up. "Well, your family certainly isn't here, so you shouldn't let them get you down. They might hate you, but I sure as hay don't." She gave an attempt at a reassuring smile, but wasn't quite sure how it turned out. She practiced reassuring smiles so rarely because she never really had to reassure anypony, but she certainly tried. Fantasy began immediately thinking of something to change the subject to a happier note, but she couldn't quite think of anything at the moment.
16. I can't say I've seen too many musicals myself, but I've absolutely loved every single one. My list includes -Spiderman the musical -Into the woods (DVD, but I wish I could have seen it live) -Wicked -Book of Mormon -Chicago Theatrical music just seems to be so much more powerful than any other kind. I love the story that goes with it, and I love the sheer effort put into every song. Also yes, Spiderman is a musical now. Surprisingly good.
17. Fantasy nodded as Darkness explained his story. She didn't quite get why he was a little down about about it, but she didn't pry, mainly because before she could interject, Darkness asked his own question. She thought back to her own cutie mark story, and smiled fondly. "Now that's a good tale. I suppose I'll give you the more paraphrased version, as the full one still confuses me a little. Anyways, when I was living in Canterlot, I got wind of an field trip to some ruins for the University of Magic. For obvious reasons," She tapped her forehead, to emphasize her lack of horn. "I couldn't go. But that just wouldn't work, now would it? After all, a trip to ruins, that would be a chance to live out a story of my own. Normally, that wouldn't be too special, but I just happened to have spent a childhood reading stories, and I desperately wanted to have one about me." She paused for half a moment, for both dramatic effect and to form out the next part of the story. "So, I got myself a snazzy hat," She tugged on the brim of the hat she was wearing at the moment, "to hide my lack of magic, and I went anyways. And it was amazing! That was the moment I realized that traveling throughout Equestria was indeed my calling. You could call it a benefit of the business that I get to uncover so many interesting tales along the way." "But anyways, its my turn again. You say you have a brother whom you haven't mentioned yet. I'm a bit curious to know your opinion of him. Call it my natural envy of your sibling, but it does seem interesting that you haven't spoken of him earlier."
18. I just saw the performance of Wicked: the musical. It was absolutely stunning! I haven't seen anything that grand in a long time.

Well, not in Seattle persay. I live in Auburn, if you know where that is. And sadly, I haven't been to any meet ups, nor did I know you lived in Seattle as well. Terribly sorry 'bout that...

19. He will be sorely missed. Rest in peace milkman, rest in peace.
20. Ah ha! Somepony with excellent taste in gaming, it would appear! I have to ask, who is the milkman?
21. Fantasy grinned in turn with Darkness. "No game? Where's the fun in that?" She said lightheartedly. The pegasus certainly lifted the mood fairly quickly. Fantasy reflected this briefly before returning attention to the second round again. She adjusted her hat so it was straightened out, then placed her hoof on her chin as she thought of a question (she felt a twinge of pain as she forgot about her cut, but she hid any reaction. No point in dwelling on it, she reasoned). She already had a brief idea of Darkness' past, but she didn't know a terrible amount of specifics, so she reasoned that was where she would focus her attention. "Let's see, what in Celestia's love of cake could I ask?" She mused the thought as she glanced at Darkness, when an idea occurred to her. "I do believe I've got one to kick us off. Your cutie mark seems to have been well earned, so what great feat must you have accomplished to earn something so helpful?" She looked at him with a head tilted slightly in curiosity as she awaited an answer.

Gah! Everytime I think of something clever, someone seems to have thought of it first.

23. More or less what you'd expect from the title. So, has anypony here ever played this one? If not, I can't reccomend it enough. It was horrible underrated, and still kind of is. The gameplay isn't bad, the story is unique, and the comedy and level design is so quirky its borderline genius quite often. If you have played the game, what did you think of the game. I'm curious as to whether my opinion is shared or not here. Maybe it isn't as good as I thought, who knows?
24. Mind over matter, all the way! Let the reign of the psychonauts begin! The ability to possess every superpower no one ever thought of (excluding your own thoughts) or the ability to have every superpower everyone has ever thought of, but you can only use each one once.
25. Enos Gray grinned as he walked around. The place he was walking around was none other than the great city of Canterlot, and indeed what a great city it was. Sure there were those strangely accurate stereotypical stuck-up rich ponies, but they weren't actually that common and they weren't even that bad once you got used to them. It certainly wasn't like they were unreasonable. The dull grey stallion mused the thought for a few seconds before realizing he had forgotten what he was doing in the first place. Without much pause, he started recalling some earlier memories of the day, as retracing steps was more or less second nature to the scatter-brained stallion. Let's see, the unicorn certainly remembered going to his job as stage hand for the orchestra They had played a particularly fast-paced song, which had caused quite a bit applause than they had expected. It really was a shame they weren't as well-known as they should have been. Anyways, he had left at the end with his week's payment. He remembered going home and working on his spells for... oh... about an hour or two. He was a touch disappointed his magic hadn't really made even any slight advancements in the past week. He remembered viewing his notes he had written, and he remembered coming to a somewhat annoyed revelation. Oh! That was it! He was to pick up some more paper from the market! Sure, it was a bit mundane, but it did have to be done. Looking around, he realized he had made it to the market sooner than he had expected. Enos took a few moments to take it all in, relishing it as he always did. It was never the sights to see or the smells of food, but rather the wonderful sound of a busy market. It was always different and always changing, yet somehow it stayed very much the same. A wonderful mix of high-pitched voices and low-pitched voices, all in all working together quite nicely. He couldn't really help a brief mutter under his breath. "Magnificent, as it always is." He didn't allow himself to be too taken in though. He had already forgotten what he was doing once. Twice was just bad form. He readjusted the top hat he was wearing, tilting it to a slight angle, before trotting around the market looking for something to catch his eye just as well as the noise had caught his ear.
