  1. "I'd like to dine here at the counter, if I may," Misty Magic said with a smile, using her unicorn powers to place 6 bits in front of Pony Joe. "Well, I work in the mail sorting part of the Post Office. We use Pegasus ponies to deliver mail, they're faster and they're better at it than us unicorns, except for this one blonde cross-eyed Pegasus who... " Misty stopped speaking when the new arrival came. The Pegasus seemed a bit gruff, but the young unicorn was determined to be friendly. "Hi there! I'm Misty Magic, pleased to meet you! The coffee's excellent here, good choice!"
  2. It accents her Western/Pioneer heritage.
  3. (ooc): Fixed previous entry "Groovy, Miss Scratch," Mojo said as the group approached the store. "Hope I can find a folk album of the greatest group in modern pony time, the Beatles. They could really play, songs like 'Sgt. Pony's Lonely Hearts Club Band' and 'I Wanna Hold Your Hoof.' Too bad some careless pony sat on them five years ago. Those beatle bugs may be squished now, but their music lives on!" "I wanna ROCK!" Jubilee shouted as the Pegasus fluttered above them. "We just GOTTA have Saphirre Shores' latest album in on this! She's the BOMB!" "Perhaps we can use some Jazz in the music mix," Starflower said calmly while keeping pace with Vinyl Scratch. "If we're lucky, there may be some albums here recorded by Duke Elkington or Dizzy Gazellesby. Those are classic tracks if I ever heard them!"
  4. "Room Five!" Sheriff Silverstar neighed. "That thar's absotively the best room in this here hotel! Two big beds, big ol' bathroom and a nice balcony too! The mustached stallion took another sip of his coffee. "Say, when the two of you are ready, I'll gladly escort you up to the mesa! After all, it is my duty as the peace officer here in Appleoosa to see to the safety of all visitors to our fine town! Most of the time, the mesa is peaceful and quiet, but thar have been times some dangerous critters roam around. Y'all might be needin' my pertection."
  5. "I'll have one of your famous pink iced donuts with extra sprinkles and a cup of coffee please," the young unicorn mare said. "Yes Pony Joe, I've been away for a while. After graduating from school. I took the Civil Service exam and have been working at the Post Office in Trottingham ever since. I had to make a new start for myself. I'm still working on my magic though. I know that someday I'll get it right. Just in town to visit and catch up on things. How have you been? I heard there was quite a ruckus here after the Gala.
  6. Misty Magic was taking a trip down memory lane that led her back to her birthplace: Canterlot. The young mare had some good times here, and some not so good times as well. The yellow unicorn was a regular at Pony Joe's in her younger years where she often came to drown her sorrows in a donut and a lemonade. Many times after being teased by her schoolmates for her misfiring magical spells, she'd come to Pony Joe's where the smiling unicorn stallion would always find a way to cheer her up. She hoped that Pony Joe was still running the donut shop since he had been one of her only true friends in Canterlot, as least, until that fateful day when her mixed up magic saved the town from a rampaging dragon. Her schoolmates had witnessed her performing the spell, so they cheered with joy. However, most of the adults of Canterlot could not believe that the yellow unicorn who had failed the entrance exam to the School of Magic had done such an incredible feat of magic. All that didn't matter to her now, she was here in Canterlot to have a good time, visit her parents and relax. Now Misty entered Pony Joe's, happy to see his donut shop was just as she remembered it. "Pony Joe!" she shouted as she trotted up to the counter. "It's good to see you again! I hope you still remember me. I've been away for a while and I just had to come here to say hello!"
  7. "Ridin' waves?" Sheriff Silverstar asked. "I reckon some Earth ponies do weird stuff. Never catch me ridin' no board like that! Flyin's fine if ya happen to be a Pegasus, but as fer me, I wanna keep all four of my hooves on the ground. Ain't Madam Bistro's grub the greatest in the whole wide world? So, you two came to see comets. Anything special bout these ones yous is lookin' fer? I hear tell that some comets only appear in the sky one every hundred years or so. And thar's no better place to look at the night sky than here in Appleoosa! The view from town's great and even better on top of the mesa jist outside of Appleoosa." Sheriff Silverstar finishes his donut and sips on his coffee some more.
  8. "Well now, I wouldn't call me a hero or nutin' like that," Sheriff Silverstar said blushing under his fur. "It's true the buffalo stampeded, but it was all because of that pink pony's horrible singing! She got the Chief all steamed up! Had the situation under control till then! Anywoo, after Chief Thunderhoofs got clobbered with an apple pie and tasted it, he was the one who came up with the Great Compromise, an agreement between us Appleoosans and the buffalo herd. We got to keep the orchard in exchange fer us supplin' the herd with apple pies! Durn good arrangement if ya ask me! What's it like being weather ponies?"
  9. [ Pony Related Character ] Name: Saddlesore Sex: Male Age: Stallion Species: Earth Pony Pelt Color: Light Blue Mane/Tail Color & Style: Dark Blue with short mane and tail Eye Color: Blue Cutie Mark: A Bur Physique: Average build Residence: Trottingham Occupation: City Clerk Motivation: "To make every pony as perfect as I am!" Likes: Being left alone, criticizing everypony else, being a grump Dislikes: Too many to list! Character Summary: Saddlesore grew up in average surrounding in Trottingham. Very socially awkward, he had very few friends in his foal days. Always the pessimist, Saddlesore usually managed to drive potential friends away with his constant complaining and grumbling. When his school started a Debate team, he jumped on the opportunity. At last, a chance to put his arguing skills to the ultimate test! Soon Saddlesore gained a reputation for skilled debating, although he could get rather rude, cruel and personal with his remarks. It was during the debate over whether the tale of Nightmare Moon was fact or fiction that his cutie mark appeared on his flanks. The fact that it was a bur seemed appropriate since (with few exceptions) Saddlesore was an irritating presence every time he opened his mouth to speak. Having little social life gave the blue colt more time for study. Since he excelled with numbers, he was able to secure several accounting jobs before landing his biggest job of all, City Clerk of Trottingham. Although the Mayor dislikes Saddlesore's disposition, no one could argue that he wasn't a top flight accountant. There are also times that his arguments and criticisms are spot on and others most ponies wish they could tie his snout shut. Perhaps someday some pony can melt his cold heart, but until then, few would argue that he's the grouchiest pony in all of Equestria! Commentary: Ok, this is a character who always has a chip on his shoulder. Think of him like a cross between Grouchy Smurf and 'Dan' from the 'Dan vs.' cartoon. He's a sort of 'Anti-Mojo', Mojo's flipside, if that makes any sense. He's not evil or villainous, just grumpy all the time. I don't know if this concept will work, but I'm willing to experiment with it.
  10. "See Hoss? Lookie at how popular this place is!" Sheriff Silverstar shouted as he waved to various patrons who acknowledged him as he led the brother and sister to the front counter where Madam Bistro waited. "Madam Bistro," the mustached stallion said with a polite bow. "These two are newcomers to our fine town and need to be set up with some grub and a place to stay! This here's Hoss Skybright and his sister Shanna! They've come to see comets in the sky! Anywoo, Miss Bistro, I'm gonna dine with my new friends over at my table there in the corner. Fix me up my usual, coffee and cinammon donut. Give the Skybrights anything they want and put it on my tab! We'll go sit a spell and chew the fat, so to speak, y'know what I mean." The Sheriff motioned for Hoss and Shanna to join him at this table.
  11. As the panicked gray maned pony was SLOWLY trying to run away, Skink fluttered above her and CookieSweets standing beside her calmly explained how these reptiles were safe and non-threatening. Their words calmed Granny Smith to the point where she stopped 'running' and turned around. The lime green elderly mare then looked down at Sprite. "Awww! Now that I'm gittin' a good look-see at'm, that scaly critter ain't so bad. Least-wise that one's got legs. It's the ones with no legs that'll git ya if'n ya ain't careful! I can recolect long ago back when I was a young filly, I got face to face with a fierce lookin' stripy snake! Them stripy snakes is a heap of trouble if they gits into the house. Anyway, I scared the dickins outta him with my famous Granny stare! Wanna see it?" Granny Smith's facial expression changed, her eyes 'bugging out' and her cheeks getting all puffed out before her face went back to normal. "Now that's how ya scare the willies outta mean, angry critters. Works on grandkids too, jist ask AppleJack, Big MacIntosh or Applebloom! Y'all ain't sellin' none of them thar stripy snakes, is ya?"
  12. "Lookin' at comets, er ya Hoss?" Sheriff Silverstar said, looking a bit bewildered. "Well, I hope both of ya have the best in luck findin' them things. As fer the best place to stay and grab some grub, I'd suggest Madam Bistro's Bed and Breakfast jist right across the street from us!" The hat wearing brown stallion pointed with his right front leg towards a two-story wooden storefront, caramel colored with cream trim, with an outdoor cafe' front (several wooden outside tables on a wooden deck). There is a large window up front with the name Madam Bistro's Bed & breakfast beneath a hanging wooden sign with a picture of a cappuchino coffee cup and donut. "Yes siree! Madam's Bistro is absotively the best place to eat and bed down in all of Appleoosa! Lookie up yonder! That mocha colored mare entering the swinging doors! That's Madam Bistro herself! If ya like, I could go in with ya and introduce you to her!"
  13. "I was born and raised in Cloudsdale!" Jubilee shouted proudly, flapping her wings until she was hovering beside of Whirlwind. "I was once enrolled in a Flight School there, but my heart's just not into Pegasus racing. It was at my first Flight Camp that I was introduced to the music of Saphirre Shores! THE Saphirre Shores! Listening to her songs sparked my dream of someday becoming a big entertainer, like her!" "And you'll get there someday, Wings," added Mojo. "But when ya get to the top of the heap, love, just don't forget about the little people like me." "NEVER! Modge, your my best friend in the entire world, you KNOW I won't forget you!" "Are you alright, Whirlwind?" Starflower asked. "Are you comfortable? Is there anything else we can get for you? Glad we're indoors, looks like the big rainstorm is coming soon!"
  14. Taking his usual stroll around town was Sheriff Silverstar, Appleloosa's famous lawpony. "This here heat's so powerful warm! Say, lookie over there? Someone's new in town, better amble on over thar and giv'm a real hearty welcome!" The Sheriff proceded to trot over to the wagon of the newcomers. "Howdy friend, welcome to Appleloosa! I'm the Sheriff here, is ther something I can help ypu with?"
  15. Oh, sorry about that. I'll adjust it. Guess I was confused because I had done that with my previous apps, and the type didn't seem large enough to read (even for me). Just want to get it right. UPDATE: Done! Is that better? P.S. -- I was planning on Louise becoming a possible 'love interest' for Sheriff Silverstar with a RP detailing her 'arrival' in Appleloosa.
  16. (ooc): This pony was mentioned in passing in Sheriff Silverstar's bio, thought it would be wise to officially 'create' her. [Pony Related Character] Name: Louise LaMare Sex: Female Age: Older Mare Species: Pegasus Pelt Color: Light Brown Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Black mane and tail Eye Color: Blue Cutie Mark: Horseshoe (covered by wings in this pic) Physique: A little taller than the typical Pegasus, fit, good condition Origin: Cloudsdale Roleplay Type: Mane RP Occupation: Historian/Fiction Writer Motivation: To continue to study and write about life in Frontier/Pioneer pony times Likes: History, hiking, nature, reading, writing, research Dislikes: City life, dealing with critics, overly excited fans of her work Character Summary: Louise was born to a prominent Cloudsdale family with a long, cherished history. This explains why young Louise spent much of her early childhood researching her family tree. She discovered that several of her ancestors had been the founders of the community that later became Cloudsdale. She also discovered that a few of her ancestors forsook life ‘in the clouds’ and settled on the ground in early Earth Pony towns. This fact fascinated the foal so much, she began to imagine herself living alongside her pioneer great great great grandparents. She studied their surviving diaries intensively, nearly memorizing them by heart. Her parents thought their daughter was just going through a phase in her life, but when her horseshoe cutie mark appeared, then they understood that her obsession with the past must be a part of her destiny. In college, Louise gained the confidence to put all of her pioneer fantasies on paper. In her Freshmare year at Cloudsdale University, she wrote her first complete novel manuscript titled ‘Little Barn On The Prairie’ that featured a slice of life in Frontier times. Her writing professors were SO impressed, they encouraged her to take her summer breaks to write more stories like this. By the time she was ready to graduate with her Bachelor’s Degree in writing, her first three books had been published and became Best Sellers. Upon graduation, she moved to Manehattan to be near her publisher, but Louise never felt right living the urban lifestyle. She then moved to Hoofington to continue to write, but that place was also a bit too urban for her. Eventually, with her earnings from her books, she bought a farm outside of Ponyville and lived there for many years. When she first read about the Appleloosa Project, she hesitated about moving there. After all, she enjoyed her farm and was busy writing her twelve novel ‘Of Hay and Sunsets’. But when she read in the newspaper about the Buffalo incident, she knew that Appleloosa was the place for her to live! Selling her farm, she packed her belongings and headed for the West. Louise explained to her publishers that actually living the true life of a pioneer would make her a better writer, and they agreed. So now Louise LaMare is living her dream in Appleloosa. She still writes novels, but now she can stroll the streets of an actual Western town and experience the life her ancestors relished in!
  17. "Oh, I see, Granny Smith said in response to Raindrop's first statement. "Reckon whoever's movin' in thar's a lot richer than you and me, right kid?" Suddenly, the elderly mare caught the look Raindrop's father gave her along with her nervous grin. "I didn't git ya in trouble with your dad, did I? Sure never meant to do that. I'll take care of it right here and now!" The lime green mare lifted up her head and began yelling upward. "HAY UP THAR! WEREN'T THE KID'S FAULT! I BUTTED IN WHILE SHE WAS WORKING HARD FOR YA! I DISRUPTED HER WORK! IF'N YA WANNA GIT MAD, GIT MAD AT ME! LEAVE THIS KIND YOUNG LADY BE!" Granny Smith felt guilty about getting Raindrop in trouble, so she was trying to take all the blame herself, hoping to get her new young friend off the hook.
  18. Good show! Glad to hear it!
  19. Sounds like another great character, Boss! Look forward to seeing the twins in action in RP!!!
  20. "Deer Friends" "Luna Tune Up" "Out On The Lone Prairie Dog" "Trixie's New Trick" "The Pie's Have It" "Granny Get Your Bun" "At The Gala, Again" "Surf and Turf" "Horsing Around" "Back in the Saddle"
  21. Understood, do you want Sunhsine and I to wait on you or keep going till you can post again?
  22. Thanks! By the way, it's your turn to post there now.
  23. LOVE the way you approached this entire application 'in character!' Like 'Mojo' would say, "I can dig it, babe!" It makes sense that there would be 'legume' farms in Equestria. Besides, there has to be a place where 'peanut butter' comes from so Pinkie Pie can bake peanut butter cookies, right? Excellent filly foal character! Good luck with it!
  24. Well, that's what SHE thinks it represents but in reality, her cutie mark depicts the fact that her magic will always be 'clouded in uncertainty.' She's a good natured pony, and though her magic may be faulty, it is still 'good' magic. As in the case of the dragon attack on Canterlot, her miscast magic actually saved the day.
  25. I can see your point, it is small type that can hurt your eyes. Fixed it, hope that helps!
