  3. Roleplay Type: World of Equestria Name: Diamond Dazzle Tiara Sex: Female Age: Young filly Species: Earth pony Eye colour: Bright blue Coat: Her coat is a light purple color Mane/Tail: Her mane and tail are two-toned, white striped with violet. They are styled loosely into a gentle curl. She almost invariably is found with a wire tiara, similar in shape to her cutie mark atop her head. Physique: About average for a filly her age. Residence: Ponyville Occupation: Student Cutie Mark: Her cutie mark is a blue wire tiara with circular ends. It represents her domineering nature and concern for appearances. Prior to getting her cutie mark, if one would have asked her if she was concerned with getting it, she would have denied as much adamantly. In truth, not having her cutie mark left the young Diamond feeling quite anxious and distraught, especially once her best friend Silver Spoon acquired hers. To everyone at school she either played cool or offered the odd offhand snide comment when her blank flank was pointed out, but there was no denying that more than anything else she wanted it to appear and appear soon. The problem was that she had no idea where to even start. Diamond Tiara's parents tended to buy her pretty much whatever she wanted, but she was a fickle child; passionate about something one moment, but then done with it the next. As this was the case, she didn't really have many hobbies or interests to explore. At a loss on her own and unable to face her friends on the matter, she decided to go to her parents with her concerns. Understanding what she was facing and seeing how it troubled her, Diamond's parents did their very best to guide the filly toward a cutie mark, encouraging her toward a number of different hobbies and activities, but nothing stuck. One day, as her parents found themselves running distressingly low on viable, not lame suggestions, Diamond found herself wrought with frustration. In a pout, she went off and shut herself in her room to cry. Her parents tried their best to console her, but Diamond refused to show her face or listen. It wasn't until her parents offered to do whatever she wanted if she'd just be reasonable that she started to listen. To test them, Diamond Tiara decided to ask for something big and requested to be taken to the most expensive boutiques in Manehattan and allowed to buy whatever she pleased. Somewhat to her surprise, her parents agreed. The family soon took a vacation to Manehattan, and while there her parents agreed to buy for her anything she wanted from any of the boutiques there. Diamond spent hours in the shops, trying on all sorts of dresses and accessories, but, fickle as ever, nothing called out to her. Many of the things were lovely, but as the one thing she would be taking home with her to Ponyville, none of the things seemed like they would do. Just like in finding her calling and her cutie mark, it seemed as if nothing would stick and she was tempted to give up until she saw something out of the corner of her eye. It was a painted wire tiara with a few rounded semi-precious gemstones fixed to it. An inexpensive piece of jewelry, it sat in a display window of a small, out of the way lower end boutique. Diamond wasn't sure why, but it was what was she was looking for and she demanded her parents buy it for her, which they did gladly. A confidence swelled in Diamond Tiara as she put it on her head. She wasn't sure why, but she felt good, like she had control. It was in that moment that her cutie mark finally did appear. History: Diamond Tiara was born in Ponyville, daughter of local entrepreneurial tycoon Filthy Rich, owner of Rich's Barnyard Bargains, a chain of highly successful bulk retail shops. Due to her father's success, the family was quite well off and as such Diamond lived a fairly privileged life for a foal in Ponyville. In their efforts to do well for their daughter, her parents did on occasion spoil their daughter who did not shy away from making demands. As the filly grew she in turn became something of a bully and a snob. She was a child who enjoyed having things her way, and she was not quiet when it came to making this known. As such, most of the other foals kept their distance. Eventually she would find one good friend in Silver Spoon, but her often bratty and commanding attitude meant most of the other foals who got close only did because they felt threatened. This sentiment only increased when Diamond Tiara found her cutie mark. In the wake of hercute-ceañera, Diamond and Silver began to openly mock the remaining blank flanks in their class at school, something she continues to enjoy. Diamond Tiara goes to school in Ponyville where she is taught by Miss Cheerilee. A good student, she studies hard so as she can show up the other students and suck up to her teacher. Perhaps because of this, she was chosen at one point to be editor-in-chief of the school paper, the Foal Free Press, a position she enjoyed fervently until her editorial decisions lead to controversy and Cheerilee ultimately concluded she had allowed too much power to a new editor and demoted her to printing press. Unsatisfied with this turn of events, Diamond Tiara quit the paper shortly after this. Character Summary: Diamond Tiara is a very particular foal. She has a very strong, assertive personality. She is quite bold and opinionated for her age and never afraid to take charge or speak her mind. She also has a lot of fervent passion for what she does; when she sets herself to a task, she feels compelled to put her very all into and do it well. She is willful and relatively clever when she puts her mind to it. She is, however, very much self-absorbed. She is vain and often controlling or manipulative. She is exceedingly stubborn and detests not getting her way, and can get temperamental or even form grudges when she doesn't. She is a relatively callous filly, not so concerned with the feelings of others but prone to more than occasional jealousy. Moreover, she is very fickle; while she puts a lot of passion behind the things she does do, she can just as easily get bored of them and move on at a moment's notice, especially if it seems poised not to go her way or be worth her time. She is also, on occasion, somewhat short sighted. As she enjoys feeling superior to others, she is known to tease others or make trouble for them and amuses herself by laughing at the results with Silver Spoon. Diamond Tiara doesn't have too many hobbies in addition to her mischief, as she's not prone to stay with anything very long. She has some interest in fashion and for shopping for nice things, but actually puts more of her free time at home toward studying than anything else. In terms of important relationships, Diamond Tiara values her best friend Silver Spoon more than she'd likely admit. Though at first considering her something of a follower, she is now thankful to have her along for her mischief, as none of it would be very much fun without her. When it comes to her other classmates, the Cutie Mark Crusaders, her behavior toward them does not stem from hatred or spite as much as a need to express her dominance and how she herself is beyond that hard part in her life. She does think some of the stuff they do is genuinely lame though, but on occasion a small and always silent part of her thinks it looks fun. Meanwhile, with her teacher, Diamond tries to leave good impressions as much as she is able and toward her father she has nothing but the deepest pride, even when he forces her to do something she perceives as lame.
  4. Good question. Looking down our list of roleplay locations, I would say the following would probably be the biggest hotbeds of airship activity in Greater Equestria: Beakbreak City - probably our most directly airship driven location; not a super nice place to live though. Stalliongrad - a large, diverse and modern city with a fair amount of focus on airships. Manehattan - Equestria's biggest economic center. would definitely have airships. Canterlot - it's the capital and we see an airship leave it in canon, so it could work too. Other towns and cities might have some minor airship presence too, of course, so if you find a location that better suits your character, don't be afraid to use that instead.
  5. Well, we're currently still working on up to date species lore for WoE. As it stands right now, there isn't much I can point you toward in regards to deer as they should appear in the game. That said, I would say you are safe to have a deer character do most any of the same things an earth pony character can. The only key differences that occur to me, aside from the obvious physical ones, are that deer would likely be more commonly seen in wooded areas (peaceful ones; not Everfree) as opposed to pony towns and cities. I wish I could tell you more, and full lore write ups for deer and other species are coming, but for now I would suggest just creating the character. If you do anything that doesn't work with our game lore, an RP Helper should let you know.
  6. Welcome to Canterlot. I hope you have a great time here.
  7. “Well Mrs. Snowflake. You have certainly been a most enjoyable companion this evening. It’s a pity we haven’t been able to truly acquaint ourselves with each other until now.” Crystal gave the slightest sigh, realizing the evening was about at its close. It had been strange, but enjoyable in its way. Fun like this was all too rare in her life, and Dr. Merlot truly did make for good company. Perhaps he hadn't offered ultimately what she had hoped for, not that she was entirely sure yet what that was exactly, but she found herself quite pleased with her decision to join him for the play. If this encounter in the future spawned opportunities for business it would be all the more better."Indeed, indeed! It's been a true pleasure seeing you again, Dr. Merlot. A true pleasure," she said with emphasis. "And considering our talks of business earlier, I have no small doubt that we will not be staying strangers so long this time!" "I do very much look forward to our next meeting," she concluded, giving another strong nod and the slightest smile.
  8. "Ooogh, I think I went a bit too far with the apple ciders Cloudy hon…Cloudy hon, I think I'm..uhh ready to lay down now…" Cloudchaser nodded at her fillyfriend and shot her a smile. "Yeah, I think I'll join you, Flit," she said giving a hearty yawn. Sure, she had been unconscious for much of the day, but despite it she was still all achey and exhausted and wanted to rest her concussed head, especially after a night of thinking far harder than she needed too."See ya, everypony!" she offered as she stood, waving to the other bar patrons, especially Dash, the Wonderbolts and the bartender herself. She then followed closely after the other pegasus. When they got to their room, Flitter collapsed almost immediately and was out of it. Chaser gave a small sigh, even though she had expected this. She could tell before that Flitter was tired and probably had drunk a little too much. She gave a small shrug and another yawn and then climbed onto the bed as well. As she waited for the inevitable approach of sleep, she replayed the day in her head, smiling all the while as she stared at the mare lying next to her. (Exit Cloudchaser)
  9. Hehe. I really love Persona 4. Seriously the best. And I also enjoy analyzing my OCs with these kinds of things, so I'll bite.... Gonna skip some though, since I have so many characters... Pegasi: Radiant Steel - Probably the most obvious one since her complexes are so immediately apparent to me. Radiant's shadow would appear wearing a frilly pink dress and a fake alicorn horn and speak like an over-excited child. She would confront Radiant with the bottled up resentment she has for her family and her upbringing and the fact that she deep down wants to leave everything behind and fly off on a magical storybook adventure. She is still ultimately an immature child who knows nothing of the world beyond that which she is familiar with, and the tough act she puts on is the same as her armor; a shield to mask her vulnerabilities, that's why she has come to cling to both. Snowfall - Snowfall's shadow would appear wearing an immaculate white suit, mane tied in the back and styled in the front like her father's. With vacant eyes and a monotone voice, she would profess that Snow, despite all her enthusiasm about living her own free life and making her own choice, in her heart is really clinging to her father's shadow which she still inhabits. She has allowed his memory and her mother's efforts guide her down a path of emptiness, and Pathfinder and anything else extravagant she tries to surround herself with is just a naïve and childish attempt to distract her from how hollow and lonely her life has been. Serendipity - Seren is difficult since she's so open by design. I suppose her shadow would have a sort of evil, demonic expression to it. She would confront Seren with the idea that she truly doesn't care about anything. Her life is a meaningless series of events and she just tries to fill it with as many names, faces and places in a vain attempt to convince herself otherwise. She is wicked at heart, her only true pleasure coming from spurning others and watching them crash painfully. Crystal Snowflake - Crystal's shadow would look a little younger and have a disheveled mane. She would suggest that every action Crystal ever took in her life was one of callous and selfish rebellion and that in her heart she has not known happiness since her time as a simple Cloudsdale weather mare. She constructs walls around herself because she wants to control other's perspectives so that they'll respect or pity her but in truth, none of it means anything to her beyond that. Earth ponies: Midnight Brand - Midnight's shadow would be angry and callous in expression. She would express that the cold and violent pony Midnight was to start with had never changed and would never change. She is just lying to herself because she is afraid and doesn't know how to deal with raising Hopesong, who ultimately is really just holding her back. Starless Shroud - Starless' shadow would have both her eyes and be wearing a red dress. She would sassily confront Starless with the fact that she is weak at heart. She has never recovered from the loss of her mother, and lashing out at what she perceives as weakness on her mother's part, has tried to annihilate or cover up any shred of her own weakness through emulating her father and generally rebelling and breaking the law. She has been running her whole life, but beyond everything else it is from her own weakness. Harlequin Salad - Harlequin's shadow would have a more serious demeanor. She would confront her with the fact that deep down she knows full well how futile and misshapen her dreams are. She keeps up her chipper attitude and relentless optimism because she doesn't know how to stop, and she wouldn't know what to do with herself without the one thing she has to cling to, her dream. She thinks somehow that if she can continue to deceive herself into believing, maybe the deception will spread and she'll be able to achieve what she wants, all while knowing this is impossible. Slick Noir - Slick's shadow would be dressed in a prison stripes and look particularly haggard. He would profess that no matter what he does now, Slick is a prisoner of his own constructs. His entire life has been spent trying to beat the system and live by his own rules, but ultimately his rules have long already put him in a box. The only reason he even makes an attempt at anything now is out of fool pride and the vain hope his daughter will somehow see and recognize his accomplishments. Whether free or behind bars, he is shackled, and after what happened in his past that is the fate he feels deep down he deserves. Unicorns: Dazzle Dawn - Dazzle's shadow would solemn and gloomy. She would express that Dazzle clings to others and butts into their lives in an attempt to mask her own shortcomings. Ultimately she is ashamed of her own lack of worth and inability to be anything more than average in anyone area, so she consciously just attempts to make as many friends as she possibly can just so her life has an increase in perceived value. In truth, the friends she has collected are just window dressing to boost her ego and make more attractive her useless, average self. Arcana - Arcana's shadow would be scared and childlike. She would propose that Arcana is ultimately still a miserable foal, deathly afraid of loss. Her mother's death, her initial separation from Dazzle, her inability to form connections with family or schoolmates just lead to unscalable walls of guarded bitterness and loathing of everything, self included that not even she can scale at this point. Ultimately she just does what she does now for attention and because she wants to belong again somewhere and at this point, the only way she can bring that about is by forcing everyone else to see the sort of misfortune she has. Steel Dagger - Dagger's shadow would dress in a full REA dress uniform, mane combed straight. He would express that Dagger has ultimately lived his life in the vain hope of proving himself and earning the acknowledgement of others, especially his father. His loose lifestyle is just a narcissistic show to promote his own ego and that beyond the one-upmanship and artifice, he is just another uniform, as stubborn and prideful as the father he resents. Crystal Ponies: Alexandrite Tilt - Alexa's shadow would be wearing shackles. She would confront her with her lingering regret over her failings during Sombra's reign. She can hide behind her lance skills and victory at the joust, but her inability to rise up and successfully do anything when it truly mattered for her people has left a scar that runs deep, and the fact that it was all outsiders who ultimately did what she could not and rescued her Empire just has her questioning her own worth and the worth of what she stands for. She puts forth a composed face, but in truth her entire world has been shaken at its very foundation and she is left with no real way to deal with it. Tourmaline Glass - Tourmaline's shadow would be smiling. She would propose that Tourmaline truly wants to belong; she desires friendships. What happened in the empire, it just left her feeling frightened, confused and vulnerable. She is unable to adjust now, so she just throws up walls and indulges in the few things she does still understand fully while feigning what she perceives as maturing and rejecting everything else. Ultimately, by convincing herself she's mature, she is able to convince herself that nothing she has seen frightens her and that she doesn't need to rely on others to face any of it. Others: Sierra - Sierra's shadow would probably be larger than her and more feral. It would express that Sierra has knowingly lived her life in denial of her own nature, because she wanted nothing more than to belong. She is in fact as greedy and selfish as any dragon, it just manifests in her as a want for relationships and affections. She spends so much of her time exploring wildernesses, because some part of her still expects that she might someday find a home more perfect than any she has known previously. Brenda Razorclaw - Brenda's shadow would appear with the scar across her face still red. She would confront Brenda with how she has let herself become a monster. Driven by her own deep-rooted narcissism, she has spent her whole life purposefully alienating others and trading relationships and trust for material things that only matter to her because she doesn't want others to have them, because she enjoys the attention that comes with being scorned and hated. She has allowed her world to become so warped that the only things that there is nothing left in it that matters to her but the satisfaction attained from paining others.
  10. The Kingdom of the Changelings - A Realm Veiled in Mystery The changeling kingdom is a remote region north of Aquellia, past the treacherous Forest of Leota. It is home to the changelings, a race of parasitic, shape-shifting equinoid lifeforms known to be hostile to Equestria. Details regarding the region are somewhat scarce given the number of ponies who have successfully ventured in and returned alive remains small, but from what accounts do exist, some of the mysteries at least have begun to unravel. The kingdom as a whole is best described as being built upon inhospitable terrain. The land is rough, dry and mountainous throughout, and either by the influence of the inhabiting species as a whole or through the misrule of the queen, little vegetation seems to grow anywhere in the kingdom. The majority of the changelings are thought to live in small groups and colonies throughout the realm, building peculiar slimy green pods in the valleys and caves for their shelter. Often these structures are built out of sight, making the region appear even more empty and devoid of life than it is. At the very heart of the kingdom is the castle of the changeling queen and the changeling settlement that surrounds it. The castle is built atop an isolated platform overlooking a large lake. It is surrounded by steep cliffs with only a deathly narrow and winding path leading up to it. The settlement is nestled down the path, at the foot of the cliff. A gate emblazoned with the queen’s image built on the only pass through the surrounding mountains protects the settlement from unwanted visitors. The queen’s castle and accompanying settlement are unusual as they do not appear to be typical changeling structures. The elaborate towers of the stone castle and ordinary shape of the settlement’s homes has most researchers suspecting that they were originally constructed by a conquered griffon or pony clan and repurposed for the queen and her changelings’ use. Large portions of the castle and all of the settlement homes are thickly covered in the changelings’ green pod slime. The castle itself is of immense size, providing abundant space for the queen and her most favored servants and minions. Any bold enough to enter, will find that the interior has been designed with an unconscionable number of doors, staircases and dangerous traps, likely as a last means of defense aimed to confuse would be invaders. The queen herself is thought to reside near the top of the highest castle tower, where she is both protected and able to gaze out upon her entire kingdom. ~Canterlot Research Journal
  11. Welcome. Hope you enjoy Canterlot. How RPing works here in brief is that it's divided into three different sections, World of Equestria, Canterlot Chronicles and Free RP. World of Equestria tries to offer an experience that doesn't deviate much in tone or content from FiM canon. Canterlot Chronicles, meanwhile, has much of the same structure as World of Equestria, but allows a little more room for things that might not be quite canon or wouldn't fit in the World of Equestria game. Free RP, on the other hand, gives the players almost complete freedom to do what they want in RP, even having its own Crossovers sections for people who want to cross elements of FIM with something else entirely. World of Equestria and Canterlot Chronicles both require approved character applications before you can play in them (see here and here for details) while for Free RP you can just jump in immediately if you so choose. Hope that helps. If you have any further questions, never hesitate to ask!
  12. Hello there. Hope you enjoy Canterlot. Also, I don't believe you can create a gallery until you have at least three posts.
  13. Correct. If you choose to make an application for a character for play in the Free RP sections you are not bound by any species list or rules beyond those for the Free RP. It is, of course, not required you do submit an application for Free RP characters; you can just jump in and play immediately if you prefer.
  14. Welcome to Canterlot. "Crossover" characters are welcome in the Free Roleplay sections of the forum and are especially encouraged in the sections marked as being for Crossovers. Such characters are not welcome in either the Canterlot Chronicles or World of Equestria RPs, however, as all characters are expected to be of original design for those games and are subject to those games' rules.
